Horrible, horrible customer service. The staff including the doctors are usually very friendly and helpful, but impossible to get to them. It takes sometimes HOURS to get an appointment (even with their call back feature), the self-check kiosks replacing humans are absolutely the worst way of saying "we only care about our profit". Doctors are rushed to see the most patients possible, and policies are implemented to make their time "more efficient" while the patient's time is not valued. Carle is a perfect example of what happens when big business profit-making drives health care policy. How can the executives at Carle sleep at night???
Just for anyone wondering, if you check the names of those associated with the contentless 5-star reviews you can often track them back to media/advertising/portfolio management positions, some even directly related to Carle. Is Carle having them leave 5 star reviews to counter its terrible real rating? The actual rating would be 1.X without all these suspicious reviews. That's an alarmingly low rating.
In other words, there are few legitimate 5 star reviews and many, many legitimate 1 star reviews. The quality of care at this place leaves much to be desired. Not to mention there is no way to verify the truthfulness of reviews on Carle's website itself, where all the staff have suspiciously similar ratings. Is Carle misleading potential patients?
There are some alternatives to Carle. If any place has such a suspicious number of unreliable reviews, it should make people pause and consider those alternatives first.
My grandmother was there. This rating is based on one person. She tried to discharge her early from Cardiovascular, while her blood pressure was not under control for 4 days. We had to fight her every step of the way. She was very rude and disrespectful. Everyone else was top notch.
Always really good experience, not good if they laugh at you for your pronunciation.
I am a veteran who has had two bad experiences with Carle. The VA is my health insurance . Earlier this year in July I went to convenient care for a tooth infection that was causing me to black out which made it to dangerous to drive myself to Danville , Illinois to the VA. I went through the proper channels turning my bill in to the VA . The VA approved they would pay it and asked Carle to bill them multiple times including phone calls with both the Va and myself at the same time. The VA never got billed now I am in collections for the bill i paid the reasonable part for the doctor but have not had the money to pay the $290 for 25 minutes in the exam room. If you are a veteran avoid Carle Hospital at all cost. I have wrote Congressman Davis about this issue .
My .life was saved at least twice by Carle. All my experiences were good except for one disputes over billing. I would sent my nearest and dearest there for any needs they had.
They sent me an outrageous bill, I was emitted for concerns of heart failure I was throwing up dizzy sick and my heart kept skipping beats. I didn t even use an ambulance. Nobody had any clue what they were doing, all I got was an EKG and that was it and they sent me home. I got a bill in the mail for 4000 dollars and I have health insurance. For one EKG!!! Even If you are dying do not go here, if you manage to survive you ll be in debt for life even if they do nothing to help you. Avoid this hospital at all cost and go to provina, they re slightly more realistic. They take advantage of people in need. It s a monopoly
If I could leave this hospital zero stars I would. I've had every bad experience here you can imagine - from having my doctors switched without my consent, to having nurses ask me if I was homeless because I worked as a painter and just got off of work, to being left without pain medication after abdominal surgery because the department was understaffed, to waiting weeks for a response to test results that came back bad. I genuinely hate this hospital system and look forward to the day I can leave this town so I can never, ever receive their shoddy excuse for medical care again.
My husband had been there twice in the last month for heart issues. Both times had excellent care.
If i could give them a 0 i would they John Doe me with my state ID after hitting me with an ambulance
I would like to thank carle hospital for the amount of care they have my daughter and grandchild. They were always comming in and checking on her and were always respectful. So thank all of you in the cc unit
Worst hospital I've ever been to. Doctors and nurses are super unqualified.
Runs unnecessary tests, then doesn t bill it correctly to insurance so you have to pay for them out of pockets. Tells you that because you consented to a blood draw for one test, you consented to have whatever tests run they felt like running. Customer service is extremely rude right away. Will be finding a new doctor not associated with Carle.
Great care. All of the nurses were caring and knowledgeable.
I would be dead if not for the doctors and staff of Carle.
There was unreasonable hidden hospital fee. I will never come back again.
I came to Carle for a small dermatology checkup with student insurance.
The physician fees were almost covered by my insurance.
However, to my surprise, in addition to physician fees, they also charged a hospital fee for 235 dollar per visit. I have to pay for coming to the hospital? I can't understand why would they do that.
Carle saved my life when I was an infant, and they have taken excellent care of me and my children for many years... BUT recently my grandmother was admitted to critical care and the gastrointerologist that spoke to me was absolutely THE rudest person I have ever me .
He was not wearing a coat or tag of any kind with his name and basically belittled me each time I asked a question about my grandmother's care. He refused to provide me with his name after I complained about the unsatisfactory way he was speaking to me and I was left feeling scared and not trusting of the care he was providing for my grandmother, who is basically my mother.
I've never been treated so poorly as a family member of a critically ill patient.
if I could zero star that nurse tried to keep me and my family against our will ,dr said I cou6go home ,I have a special needs child .I was the patient, she had me in fear of my life my baby's life ,even lied to security officers. I'm sue carles then go after her .I knew something was wrong with that lady when she sniffed my tinkle sample ! nasty, I was afraid for our lifes ,I go there for help I get a chicky3chicky sico as a nurse ! dr released me shes chasing us in hallways to the door lied if shes going to lie ,try to keep patients against their will and their baby ,husband, shes on drugs or something, I have never felt so afraid of someone before like that
They told me I only need to pay $15. Then they charged me $300 and threat me to report my credit score if I don't pay. lol
the old lady in the reception is nice. however the check in counter young girl is rude very rude. Jehovah will punish her.
Been in the ER (still here) with my help button beeping for over 45minutes. No one has responded or brought in the meds that were ordered well over an hour ago. Two doctors have stopped in to ask if the meds are working and I ve told them they haven t come. Both claim they are getting someone to do it, but no one has shown. Happy I m not dying or in a life or death situation. The staff clearly does not communicate well and they are understaffed. Nice doctors... but no support.
First the service, I went in, it was fast, thorough, and I was assured that my insurance would cover everything. Now the standard charge for the services I was getting is around $200, and after insurance I'm used to seeing a co-pay of around $50.
Two weeks later, I get a bill for no less than $1600 - AFTER insurance had paid their share, the total charges were somewhere over $2000, a %1000 higher than standard fee for the care I had received. There is no way in hell I would ever recommend to anyone EVER going to this place. Yea, they'll keep you alive - just so they can put you so far in debt that you'll wish they hadn't succeeded.
This nurse larea told me they're having complications with my wheelchair and that I should just walk. And when she put the gauze over where my IV was, pressed down with her thumb very hard and for a lot longer than needed. I felt like more of a burden. I sincerely hope someone sees this and does something about it. These nurses were pathetic. Did not feel cared for at all. Get it together!!!
They are clean, the people are mostly nice. However the number of mistakes made are alarming. First when getting a Lumbar Puncture they missed my spine 3 times. I have had spinal issues ever since. They have missed my veins and Im an easy stick 5 times. Once they got me mixed up with another patient and almost gave me Fentanyl for pain I didn't even have. Im just scared someday they will accidentally kill someone. They lack communication between departments causing unnecessary yet expensive treatments. They are the reason I stopped trusting standard medical. They are very money driven and care more about money sometimes than they do their patients.
Carle Hospital SUCKS! They basically killed my mother in 2014. I have sleep apnea and they doing NOTHING to help me with my problem. Its sad that this is pretty much the ONLY hospital in this part of Illinois.
My father has Multiple Myeloma(cancer) and Parkinsons which have brought on a multitude of complications and at this point his quality of life is horrible! His team of Physicians including Dr.Vasireddy, have prescribed drug after drug to him yet in 3 years have never considered prescribing medical marijuana. The pharmaceutical industries profits are obviously more important than how one man finishes his life on Planet Earth. Medical Marijuana is legal in Illinois and thus there is absolutely no reason for this except Greed!! Shame on you Carle Hospital!
THE BILLING DEPARTMENT IS FRAUDULENT. THEY DO NOT GIVE PATIENTS THE CORRECT INFORMATION ON WHERE THEIR PAYMENTS SHOULD GO....DO NOT USE MYCARLE TO PAY THEM. THEY TURNED ME INTO COLLECTIONS FOR NOT USING THE APPROPRIATE SITE TO PAY. I HAVE TRIED TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR ABOUT THIS AND NO ONE HAS RETURNED MY CALL
WOW JUST WOW!! I normally go to Christie Clinic for all my healthcare needs because thats the provider my insurance dictates. After dealing with Christie Clinics Cardiology dept and their utter lack of patient care and their inability to return a simple phone call after trying multiple times I decided to see if there was another doctor that actually cared about their patients well being. Luckily I found Dr. Uday Kanakadandi who I found takes the time to talk to his patients with the utmost professionalism and care that is hard to find in this day and age. He was very thorough and answered all my questions and made my heart health his top priority. Excellent Doctor Prescribing Excellent Care. My cardiac cath procedure was by far one of the best medical procedures I've ever been through. The doctors nurse cleared it with my insurance quickly and got me scheduled in promptly within a couple days thoroughly answering all my questions. I had 2 nurses that tended to me the day of the procedure, Dana and Jenna and I cant say enough about these two. Professional, Sweet and Kind and just made me feel at ease the whole day. These 2 nurses need a pat on the back from their superiors for their utmost care and concern they have for their patients. Top notch in every way. In closing after the service and care I received from Carle and its staff I will using Carle instead of Christie for all my healthcare needs in the future. Great job Dr. Uday, Dana and Jenna and thank you for everything.
Totally disrespectful staff, especially in the ER department. The security staff employs, in my opinion, abusive tactics to restrain only a mildly uncooperative patient (myself). I felt totally violated by these people.
Healthcare quality is OK.
Fees are over-charged. And non negotiable. Customer service rep and her supervisor kept on telling me that's their policy.
Convenient care not covered by BCBS, only specialist were covered by BCBS. And Carle foundation hospital rep failed to inform us when we registered our info.
Carle Foundation Hospital should be ashamed of their billing practices. Their prices are ridiculous and non-negotiable for facilities fees. While we had excellent care from our provider at a fair price, the facilities fees charged above the provider fees are beyond excessive. A 5 minute ultrasound that would run maybe a a couple hundred dollars anywhere else, cost $1,100 above the normal provider fee. Do yourself a favor and shop around your health care options and make sure you understand every cost that will be charged to you before accepting care from this organization. You have options as a patient and you don't need to settle for high prices just because Carle is the closest to you. Also be sure you talk to the billing department BEFORE accepting care from them, because they say they will tell you cost. Using that information call around to other facilities and find out what they charge. A round trip drive to Peoria or Bloomington could save you thousands of dollars, even with insurance.
Been here too many times. Twice I've had to tell staff to kill someone. So far, I'm still alive.
I ve never been to this exact location. However Carle bought out the services in Bloomington, IL. I scheduled an appointment in June for a check up before we scheduled a surgery I have to have. I got to the office and the lady asked me for my insurance card. After looking at it for 2 minutes she finally says, We just got bought out by Carle and they told us not to accept this insurance starting July 1st. EVEN THOUGH I scheduled my appointment before June 1st. No email was sent or phone call made to give me this information.
this is a business that looks for profits from its customers not a hospital that looks to care for its patients.
I am fortunate enough to be able to say that I have never had to go to the emergency room before, not for my self nor for anyone I know. Today I had to take my mom to the ER at Carle hospital in Urbana. My mom had really high blood pressure and felt dizzy with a ringing in her ear. She had shortness of breath and vomited on the way here. I'm typing this as I sit here with my mom in the waiting room as she waits for a room. It has been 3 hours now and she is not looking good. She got checked in but after that we were told to sit and wait. I am not a medical expert so I guess I'm not really qualified to judge the health care system of this hospital. I wonder If it's like this in all hospitals or just this one. No one is tending to us, no one has asked us how we are doing. There is a guy sitting next to us who has urinated him self. No one had come to see if he needs to be cleaned up or dealt with. The stench is almost unbearable as he sits in his own urin. My wife and daughter is here and my mom keeps asking us to leave her here and get my 1 year old daughter out of this environment. I can't leave my sick mom in here by her self, she is so dizzy she can't stand up by her self. This is supposed to be the ER? I guess this is what hospitals has to resort to because of all the people who abuse it. I just can't believe this is called the ER. How much longer will I have to sit here and watch my mom suffer in her seat in this waiting room full of people.
Carle is a great hospital. Doctors and nurses are very good!
I never write reviews as well like many other people who wrote their comments here. Carle is the monopoly in this place and as a college student in UIUC, there is not much choices left except for this hospital. I am an international student and from my first experiences I immediately understood why you Americans suffered so much from medical fees. I went to the McKinley Health center on campus initially two times when they referred me to Carle (My problem is only dry eyes, which the clinic said they can't help, doubt if there is a connection between this). For the first appointment, I had temporary eye plugs lasting for a week and that is $600 for EACH EYE. The second appointment when I thought the doctor was gonna put permanent ones in me she rubbed my eyes and told me to come back in two weeks so to be sure. And that is another $250, for rubbing my eyes. The final cost is near $4000, for rubbing my eyes and putting two small plugs in my tear ducts, actions requiring no medical skills nor knowledge and takes like 5 minutes. My insurance covers a lot, (initially I thought it covers all), I still have to pay $800. If I knew I would be receiving such expensive fees I wouldn't have went to the hospital at all. I only had dry eyes! Seriously, I recommend not going to this hospital for its expensive fees, especially when they told you your insurance will cover this COMPLETELY. My eyes are currently still suffering from constant pain and the plugs proven useless. I guessed I just spent $800 visiting the hospital three times and wasting my time and hope. Never gonna go again.
HORRIBLE! I was in shock at the treatment we got from the nurses, doctors, and even the kitchen staff. Unbelievable this place needs to be investigated.
So i tried to pay my medical bill today. I called around 4:45 PM and a lady named Cathy answered. I wanted to setup a recurring payment. She took my initial payment and told me i needed to all back in a month. I said again i wanted to setup a recurring payment, she said that I would have to call back in a month. I said doesn't that defeat the purpose of a recurring payment?? She said there are other ways of paying and that i did not have to do it over the phone. I get it, Its 4:45 PM and she doesn't want to deal with one more caller. I asked her to put me on the phone with someone that can get this done for me and that i did not want to call back in a month. She put me on hold and came back to tell me that everyone had left and that the only way they could get this done is if i called back tomorrow. so now instead of a month its tomorrow.. Very professional. I got almost a $6000 bill because wife and I had our 2nd daughter there but they won't let me setup a recurring payment that day because this employee doesn't want to be bothered with setting up a payment at 4:45 PM.
Carle hospital will show smiling faces to their patients at the counter, but behind the scenes they don't seem to care at all about their customers. And customers is what we are to this big bully of a institution like Carl. They treat their patients as needed to maintain their status as a OK Hospital. My wife and I had our 2nd daughter there. Their nurses were great. No complaints there. We have decent insurance but somehow the bill was huge. Its ridiculous what they charge you for an Advil and a diaper. So fine, i get it, i cant fight this. This "non profit organization" has me, and all the other poor saps in their grips. But for this employee to tell me that neither she or anyone else there is going to help me setup a recurring payment this evening is not right. IM TRYING TO GIVE THEM MONEY!
So here is the bottom line.
I Have to pay them money but only when they feel like taking, and if they don't? I have to try again the next day. Hopefully i won't interrupt a conversation or a snack break or something.
They told me it was mandatory to have covid test before procedure so did test they did procedure without getting test results 2 weeks later no test results called to find out why the only answer they could come up with was they lost the test and now say I have to get the test again to have another procedure I dont see the point when they just loose them anyways also tried to send me home with medication im allergic to
Had a baby boy delivered while my primary doctor was on vacation. Everything went perfect. My wife loved it and would give them a 5star. But i miss placed my sunglasses in the room and they said no Bobby noticed then. So I'm upset. I give them a 4star...lol
The staff, doctors, nurses down to the guards behave as gods. That you have no right to challenge them. The treatments are very specialized but they forget to treat whole patient. Then you got to wait for them to decide if they will get another team together. To me they act like a bunch of quacks and I no longer have any faith in the hospital or it s staff.
I'd give it zero if I could. 3 doctors at Carle told me I got nothing wrong with me, despite the fact I was suffering from terrible nerve pains and burn sensation all over my body. Such conclusion was reached after a 14k brain and cervical spin MRI, 2K useless physical therapy. Even after insurance, I still paid 2k. A complete waste of money and my time.
Horrible experience in ObGyn. Avoid that place if you can
Some of the Drs lack hearing. 1 said I had IBS and I was talking about bladder issues. He then got loud and argumentative. He kept getting louder and louder. Not professional at all! Another Dr I chose as a primary and wanted to drill me lime a staff Sgt on why I switched. He never listened to my chest, lungs, nor looked at ear/nose/throat. Just sat there with arms crossed and ordered blood work...and told me not to come back till he had see the blood work. That's been over a week ago. Doubt if he will call. So I'll leave it up to my cancer dr. Now that Dr cares!
They got me right in the er and started working on me
Wife has been here multiple times for ongoing issues ,never had any problems with staff or doctors
doctors good nurses good billing and accounting horrific will ask to double pay for services make sure you keep good records
They have bus service to this location and they let you enter if you arrive early.
Carle Hospital owns Health Alliance insurance company. That presents a conflict of interest. Your doctor requests authorization for expensive treatment, insurance denies to cover. Doctor pretends to 'appeal' the insurance decision, while not really doing so (his letter is not even a letter - it's his notes printed out on paper - and contains incorrect or vague information; he does not mention your condition is serious and life-threatening if left untreated, nor why your treatment is medically necessary and the only option).
Corrupted organization to the bone... Best to visit a specialist at a hospital that does not own your health insurance company...
Gave me a "definite" diagnosis and rushed me out without being able to give me a "definite" diagnosis. I came in with pelvic pain and vomiting from the pain. Diagnosed with a stomach bug despite presenting most symptoms of endometriosis or PCOS complications. Because you CANNOT DIAGNOSIS ENDOMETRIOSIS WITH ONLY AN ULTRASOUND, I don't understand how Dr. Liu in the emergency room told me I definitely don't have it.
I don't have a stomach flu, but they threw pain medication at me and sent me on my way. They should be ashamed.
My elderly father was hospitalized for nearly 10 days, and during that time, no one from hygiene came in to wash him up, shave him, as they normally do. They complained about having trouble dealing with his dementia, yet never thought this might be comforting. It is not his first hospitalization, and the care is usually much better. He was suffering from pneumonia, and as soon as he was given his final dose of antibiotics, they fast-tracked him like a hot potato back to his nursing home after 6 pm on a Friday, looking like a vagrant, where he was still agitated until he was given a shower and a shave the following Sunday. I suppose this is what to expect when your hospital is an insurance company. Profit and liability is always at the forefront.
wish i could write better about carle hospital after one doctor saved my life while another is doing nothing just continuing treatments of previous doctors.
I just came back fro my appointment with Dr. Samineh Khosrowshahi and i left massively disappointed with her treatment plan and discussion i had with her.
I explained my symptoms to her and she informed me that a neurologist only treats seizure disorders not pain disorders or other symptoms. I felt as if my other symptoms were completely unrelated to anything neurological. When my other doctors tell me the problems are in neurological field that i am having not theirs. This left me horribly frustrated. Who do i believe 5 other doctors a single doctor. And top that off she tried to order a MRI which my records show that i can not have a MRI. neurosurgeon Dr. beliber 23 years ago said for me to never be exposed to magnetism meaning no MRI, my mother was there at the time he said this.
When the discussion of what i want done or what to do. I said proper diagnosis to find the root of all my neurological symptoms as per the other doctors have told me is the problems. this meet with resistance. And i got asked again by Dr. Khosroshahi do you want pills and of course i said no i would like a known diagnosis and proper treatment. i got told i have seizures and systemic pain disorder. and she said earlier she does not treat pain!
And insult to injury is the fact that she asked why i want this treated so badly i said. i Said i wanted to be able to work some kind of job or go back to college either online or to a real university. She told me i am disabled i can not work at all or lose my disability. i had to inform her of the ACA and ADA back to work ACT and the ADA IRA plans for the disabled. Told me i could lose my disability i informed her i would not. And again asked me why do i want to go back to work or college and risk it i said. going to work and college give a person a sense of purpose in life. And makes life more enjoyable. Explained to her that I began working for 3 years after my aneurysm rupture for a center for independent living for 3 years but started to have weird symptoms. which got to point i needed a neurologist again after Dr. Nino retired. And went to her. But she didn t get it and threw me into complete frustration with her.
I told her if i was going to be talked down to like this and she was unwilling to find the appropriate diagnosis and treatments so that i could go back to college or try to work again. i would find a new neurologist. She said fine. I said ok i ll be writing to DHS, congress persons, Illinois Medical board, and a great many agencies and possible news media and informing rest of my doctors her decisions with me and i have left her and why as explained in above.
This is unfortunate. as my neurosurgeon Dr. beliber 23 years ago saved my life at carle hospital from a ruptured intracranial brain aneurysm.
Perhaps it is her command of the english language or understanding of american laws or views of the disabled, i do not know anymore after suffering after years of her treatments and going toxic on my medications several times under her.
Good care and physicians but the administrative sector needs work. I was told that my insurance (blue cross blue shield) would cover my service, until I received a call saying that Carle had changed their insurance partners during the time of my service. This left me with a large bill - but the problem was that I wasn't notified. This made me unsure whether I owed the money or not. Following this, I didn't receive any statements in the email or via post and hence was not sure if I owed the money or how I should go about paying it.
In brevity - good care, poor administrative services.
It's been the worst place to see a doctor staff don't attend to you last time I was there I was calling a nurse and was left unattended bleeding through my noise and now I lost my noise and look horrible and now have a hole in my mouth unable to drink any thing or take my mess and doctor Bailey keep dragging to give my surgery it's been over 2 years this is the worst hospital I ever been too I'm trying to find a doctor now at cook county hospital in Chicago were at least I be treated with respect and don't get declined for surgery carle hosptal need new staff n new rules which they don't care for us
I have had nothing but a positive experience here; all the nurses and doctors have been fantastic. Clean, knowledgeable, and professional.
Everyone complains about billing-- look we all know our Healthcare system isn't free. Does it suck it costs so much? Yes. If you not have insurance and it costs more? Yes. Complain with your right to vote and put people in office who will change this.
Carle also offers 'Community Care' and help people with their bill if you can't afford your bills.
Worst Customer Service I Have Ever Experience! No Hospitality, No Friendly Staff, Show No Concern, Extremely Long Wait For The E.R.!!!! Went to Presence Hospital and received great service, friendly staff, got in a room right away, and doctor came in five minutes after we enter our room.
Carle advertises that they have an Ehlers Danlos Syndrome expert and been twice and both times the doctor says they do not treat Ehlers Danlos Syndrome! They also are spreading false information stating there is a genetic test for type 3 hypermobility and there isn t to this day. There is for every other subtype but not type 3. They treat this disease disgracefully and need to quit lieing to the public they have a specialist for this disease and further lieing that there is a test for type 3.
Carle needs to get there $&>\ together. their customer service is pathetic
Carle Hospital as a whole is a really good hospital.
There are always a few bad apples though. Dr. Rauther is especially horrible. In my opinion , she should be fired on the spot. I'm not sure why she is still there after all these years. I've even asked personal friends and they don't even have anything good to say about her.
i was born here my parents said it was good experience. I moved to Canada and we have free health care so yea U.S do the same. who thought 13 years later im reviewing were i was born.
Every staff member that we talked to and even those we passed in the hall ways always had a smile and a greeting
If I could give ZERO stars I would. I Will NEVER go to this hospital again. Brought my 9 day old baby to the ER for seizures. They did blood work and said his calcium level was low but wasn t concerning and scheduled us to see a Neuro in a week. Saw the Neuro and she said Epilepsy and sent us home on medication. That same day he had about 10 short seizures. So we ended up rushing him to Peoria Children s hospital where they did blood work and of course calcium level is low and they were very concerned. They told us if we wouldn t of brought him in that he probably would of died. He spent a week in Peoria. He had low calcium do to a undeveloped parathyroid. Thanks Carle Hospital for nearly killing my son. Maybe you should re-educate your doctors.
The nurses in the NICU are great, the guest house is a great idea as well, I wish more hospitals would do something similar, far better experience than with baby #1 at unioU hospital in terre haute, great job guys
This is my very first experience in US to go to an health care provider. I was nervous. However, I was received very well, signed up quickly and was helpful. I was escorted to a waiting area and Katie (nurse) came within a minute and was very sweet, nice and made me comfortable. Took initial readings and samples for test and then provider(forgot the name, sorry) walked in and is very too. Very good experience and quite impressed. Thanks Katie and Carle!
Carle has been keeping me alive for years i've been to many excellent highly rated hospitals over the years in chicago but carle is by far the best. The care i've recieved every time is above and beyond.Dr.s are impressive they admit when they dont know something, then start looking, and, finding others who do no matter if that Dr.is'nt a carle Dr. That is impressive Dr.s never admit to not knowing everything. The nursing care is the best i've had,and i know nursing care my mother is a nurse ,i was a nurse,(i was a patient first) great nursing care can mean the difference between life and death. The different testing departments and staff are always careing, supportive, patient, explaining what is going to happen and what they are looking for that is reasureing AND YES I AM THERE BIGGEST FAN AND I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM EXPAND TO ENCOMPASS THE AREAS FROM MATTOON EAST TO IN.STATE LINE AND BACK UP TO URBANA THAT WOULD DRASTICLY IMPROVE THE OVERALL HEALTH WELLBEING AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL WHO RESIDE IN THE AREA.And last but not least the house keeping, transport, caffateria, schedualing, social work, and office people are always outstanding and freindly at a time when everyone ca use a friendly face a kind word.Everyone at carle's wonderful. If there were more stars to give them i would. Thank you carle for being as great as you are ,or most likely i wouldn't be giveing this review.I wouldn't be alive.
Ive always had a great experience with carle. They have been patient, fast to getting me into appointments and the right equipment. I think some of the referrals were not really necessary but I followed through anyways. My eye dr. did 4 surgeries on my eye. The first three were great, the 3rd one was long with complications and didnt turn out very good, I will need another opinion to get the bad procedure fixed up. I dont trust them with my eyes anymore. However I have other good physicians that I will stick with and are really good and thorough
Very nice hospital and the whole 7th floor has the BEST and friendliest nurses I've ever came across in a hospital. They go out of their way to please their patients and their patients families and i thank them for that. Them nurses all deserve a raise!
Overall experience has been concerning. One nurse was great. Everyone else was not impressive. Feeling a dread about seeing the bill because I was just informed they classified my daughter as outpatient observation rather than inpatient. Playing semantics doesn't leave me feeling good about this at all.
Terrible billing management! They rely so much on paper bills! If you miss one, it looks okay from both the insurance company's website and MyCarle payment due amount. They trick you using the terms and categorized account number. As international student, if you miss one mail when you are not in the U.S., you never get any notification later!
It's not until 5 MONTHS later WHEN I CALLED THEM, that they eventually told me that I have $500 (including INTERESTS) due, even though I cannot pay through their websites!!!
The new design on inside is amazing. The hospital in clean and full of beauty, As well as wonderful helpful doctors, nurses, and medical staff.
Very bad billing system. Kept sending me the bill that was not updated. I have been calling the billing people many times to confirm my insurance and payment. Still receive another bill that ask me to pay more. very disappointed.
Okay, Carle is by far the better hospital in our area (in my opinion), but they don't treat their employees very well, they have some really bad policies, and their billing department seems to treat patients more as an adversary than someone that is willing to work with them to resolve whatever the matter is.
I've also been routinely charged for services I never received, overcharged for things I did receive, and disappointed in their ability to address particular situations in an appropriate and timely manner.
With that said, if my life were on the line.. I'd still go here over another option for this area.
The staff here has been amazing. We've had 3 overnight stays in the past 4yrs and we haven't had a bad experience yet.
Everyone from the baby delivery team, to NICU team, to nurses to cafeteria staff have been helpful with instructions, directions, and have been very polite during our different visits.
I would (and do often) have recommend Carle to my friends and family for all medical issues but specifically pregnancy.
After moving to MA, my medical bill was only 15~20% of the amount carle has been charging me, even though I have the same medical service. This is ridiculous.
Absolutely nothing positive to say after multiple interactions with this organization.
Carle has cared for me and my family for decades. There is no other health care provider I would choose.
Great hospital, good doctor's, only flaw I experienced was long haired redhead who is at front desk in er, no help at all has personality of a sloth, people come in stressed out trying to find loved ones, need someone with compassion to help you
ER visit with my daughter in late January. While the ER is always slow, since there are sometimes more pressing emergencies that understandably take precedence, the staff and doctors were very caring and professional. Our nurse was great. My daughter had to have a procedure performed there in the ER by the specialist and, again, everything worked well. I appreciated the hard-working folks showing compassion to us during a trying time.
Sometimes the wait can be long but once they get you to the back they are always caring and make sure their patients are comfortable and leave with the care they need the little things can be looked over because at the end of the day it s abot the care they provide to the people of the community
I brought my wife to Carle ER at 7:30 am for severe abdominal pain and vomiting. It started out fine for the first hour, they addressed her pain and gave her something for the vomiting. It was after the first hour that things went to hell, they ordered a CT scan and it took close to an hour to get that done. The pain medication they first gave her didn t get the pain below a 7, when she called a nurse, the nurse said she would get an order from doctor for another dose. We never saw that nurse again or anything for the pain. It s been 10 hours that we ve sat here and the only thing we ve learned is she might have a gall stone blocking her bile duct. At 5pm we were finally told she was being admitted, not by the nurse or doctor, but by one of the techs. We saw a nurse a total of 6-7 times in the 10 hours we ve been here and a doctor about half of that. The one star I have to give, should go to the cleaning people who were very polite and spent more time in our room than the doctors or nurses. Maybe spend less money on new buildings and hire more staff or better staff.
I have nothing but good things to say about this facility. We ended up at Carle which is an hour and a half away from home, because they were able to expedite care for us when our local healthcare system was unable to. They definitely did expedite treatment for us to say the least, and we were very satisfied with the care we received. Everyone we encountered was wonderful. That is everyone from front desk office personnel to physicians to technicians to medical records release and billing staff. This was the cleanest hospital I have ever been in. I dreaded calling about a billing issue because it is usually a hassle elsewhere but I was able to easily reach the billing dept. at Carle and my issue was solved very quickly. I have told so many people about the wonderful care we received there and will continue to do so. Other hospitals could learn a lot from Carle. Will always be thankful for the care we received there!
I literally can't believe that this establishment only has a rating of 2.9. I was life flighted to this hospital, over an injury so bad I almost lost my arm. The staff couldn't be nicer. I never fill out reviews, but this hospital is amazing. Every staff member is so sweet and egar to help. Out of EVERY STAFF MEMBER from the food service, the techs, the RNs and the Dr.s .the food is amazing. I have never felt so completely safe and comfortable in a hospital; I am shocked that anyone could give this hospital 1 star, they must have the wrong place because Carl clinic in Urbana is everything you want in medical care. If u have to almost lose your arm, make sure they fly u here.
Carle is billing me for seeing Dr. Zasada >30 minutes, even though he only spoke to me for 10 minutes and said that I didn't even need to be in the hospital. He also refused to refer to me by my legal name. Now I'm receiving bills now from Carle with the wrong name. When I called their billing department and explained that the doctor couldn't even refer to me by my correct name, she was completely unconcerned. She told me I would be paying the bill anyway. Then she said that they apparently have Medicare information under the wrong name as well. When I told her that I shouldn't have to pay for services in which I kept informing them of my correct name and they refused to use it. Then she threatened to send my account to collections. Rude, disrespectful, and disorganized.
People don't ever go to Carle hospital or any associated entity because they are very nasty of handling claims collections. They've charged me with the hospital and the ambulance services over $11,000 from a car accident when I went there. Instead of using the car insurance to charge or process the claims, they decided to go through health insurance. So far they got almost 99.9% of the full amount but some reason that they have not gotten about $63.00. So they have forwarded it to a collection agency for this amount. This amount could be from they have not processed correctly themselves or something they have not done right.
My car insurance has been great about paying the bills but the way Carle is handling it causes this problem.
So people out there be aware how Carle is treating people like this.
