I've been on CareOregon Medicaid for almost a year now, and I can't describe how much I love it! I was assigned my primary care provider to the Center for Natural Medicine on 39th/Cesar Chavez and Hawthorne and had the best experience having blood work, acupuncture, and medications covered. My PCP even prescribed me a Vitamin D supplement, which was totally covered! Every time I call CareOregon for some reason, I'm only on hold for 30 seconds max before somebody picks up and helps me out. I have recommended CareOregon to many of my friends, who all enjoy it as much as I do.

Abysmal user experience. If you weren't already depressed, dealing with careoregon in itself is cause for a mental breakdown. Numerous aspects of the website are broken. You try to do something basic like change your password, and you never receive the email to change your password, have to call them on the phone and wait for 20 minutes.
I leave 2 stars only because the woman on the phone was so nice and really did everything she could to help me or find out who and how we could solve a simple but absolutely almost impossible to actually find a way to prevent me from dying. One, the whole war on drugs doesn't exist. No war. Where do you think we get our opium, scratch that, buy our opium to make not only Phentenal, which is offing people left and right because of strength. It also means that there are people inside almost every company that actually make said medications from your basic Vicoden, probably thee most prescribed pain killer, and I mean the tiny wee 5mg of pain killer that makes that pill worse for your kidney from the amount of tylenol it's packed with. Care Oregon will pay the billions for junkies hooked on everything can atleast get there heroine payed for since CARE OREGON will pay for any methadone juice bars from Eugene that now has a number of juice bars that Care Oregon pays for. They make $2000 per customer a month from Care Oregon and this is the biggest grift because you can use your CRYSTAL METH, even PCP would not get you kicked off. Now for years they have tried so hard to push Suboxone or buepanorphine. Both come with narcotic and NALTREXONE, TREXONE, same thing many different names. If for some reason at anytime you have an accident or get your leg cut off. What are you going to do then, and the next 4-5 days atleast. No NARCOTIC of any kind is going to be useless because you have naltrexone in you and you can die from overdosing but you still wouldn't feel it. Only recourse is put em out with Sodiumpenthanel and knock them out as on, induced Coma and wait till the TREXONE to get out. TREXONE ALSO causes depression big time after 4-5 months leading right back to. They won't pay for my prescription after sending me a letter specifically telling me they will pay for x medications, just not the one I'm taking. Ok, finally got my redular dr. To wright prescription that could litterally get me off this horrible medication I have been on for far to long. They won't pay for the accredited clinic. I'm baffled because it's the most proffesionals and surpasses any clinic. Plus CARE OREGON only has to pay for #, not ride to care or hop passes. Just the medication. Scand
I was told they would cover a gel mattress pad for my chronic pain. So I enrolled. A year later they keep denying the claim, saying I did not comply with a provider I was never enrolled with. Melissa with the Steel team clearly did not use medical records to base the denial with, and claimed false statements made by my case manager that were never made. I lie awake in pain Evey night and according to the sleep study I do not reach REM sleep. I have been hospitalized several times for hallucinations due to lack of sleep. I'm disabled and can't afford to buy the $300.00 pad. This is beyond cruel.
My name has been misspelled on my account for years and no matter what I do they never fix it. More importantly, they won t pay for treatment that I need for a severe genetic skin disease I m suffering from. I ve been unable to work or have any quality of life since they took over my insurance. I m miserable everyday. I can t move without pain from inflammation and sores. I ve cried over this. The only treatment that works, they won t pay for. I m lost. I can t work with my skin like this. I can t sleep, I can t live a normal life. They keep trying to make me do all these other treatments first that will, and have, made other conditions I have much worse. My doctors are worried I will become suicidal. This is no way to live. I wish I had options for other insurance but with the state I m in physically and mentally I have no other choice.
I think Car e Oregon is great once you are on it but putting a sign up event in a convention center where you have to pay to get into the exhibit that has a Care Oregon booth in it is a little much for low income people
The 'Care" in Care Oregon is contrary to the experience I had as of recent. Last Fall, Kevin in the Portland office suggested a change in a family member's OHP insurance as the many places offering help for brain injuries fall far beneath anything that is needed to reclaim function and balance for recovery. It was he who suggested NW Anxiety clinic. We waited from November 2019 until March of 2020 just to get an interview from the clinic. When it happened, the director on NW Anxiety stated that clinic would need a psychological eval to determine the areas of the brain and the cognitive pieces that were compromised, other wise they would not know how to treat. I emailed Kevin at Care Oregon to tell what happened. His reply was concerning as it withdrew this idea and stated we should stick with contracted places already within the plan. So why would he direct us to change insurances and wait , only to withdraw it and redirect us to what has clearly NOT served as effective treatment, as if our investment and hope for good care did not matter. The 'hope' and belief that possibilities for better treatment are possible is what keeps many clients who severely suffer from the consequences of a volatile impact on the brain trying. To set clients up with these possibilities, when so much has been a waste of time due to poor treatment, and withdraw this, is exactly what seeds the alienation that drives clients to hopelessness. The detachment from the reality of what it is like for a patient to WAIT and WAIT and hold on to hope, is concerning. This is one reason many in Oregon turn to suicide. A employee from Care Oregon builds hope but is totally uneducated at what the emotional wait is for the patient. Then , they dismiss the idea(after the long wait ) as if the patient does not matter. I have talked to so many young people at Unity and other places and many have experienced this same thing. I went to the supervisor, "Michael" who dismissed my concerns and must have told Kevin not to contact me. This Michael has NO interest in my complaint and talked over me and told me he was going to hang up on me but before doing so, wanted to give me the ombudsman's number. This si how OHP deals with any complaints or issues...,.,avoidance! I am concerned at the fabricated and polished image Care Oregon gives itself, yet has a high tolerance for this unethical and unprofessional behavior. Just yesterday I read the PBS story of how the highest cause of death in Oregonian of a young age was suicide. Michael is a reason why. Having a supervisor who handles issues in this manner delivers a 'hopelessness' many seeking help can not withstand. To jerk around with the efforts of the many with severe anxiety in this manner as Michale did, clearly needs to be addressed if Oregon is ever to evaluate above being the worst state in the country for mental health help. Care Oregon also sponsors the 'WINGS" program I believe. How can a health institution simultaneously advocate for good and balanced health and sabotage the hope of the most vulnerable clients? Michael dismissed this issue in such a unprofessional manner, it is stunning to witness the callous in the personalities of some employed to heap this fragile population. it is no wonder Oregon ranks last for effective and steady mental health, and first in your suicide!
Beyond worthless if you have chronic conditions. More hoops to jump through than relevant care. Customer service excels at wasting ones time and giving the run around - nothing is in the patients best interest.
Every time I have called Care Oregon I have not have to wait long to get through to employees who have treated me with courtesy and respect. I have been surprised at how much knowledge they have and how quickly they are able to answer my questions. I feel they they are very professional and seem to take pride in their work. I am grateful to them for the high standards they adhere to and the great service they provide.
I had care with my chiropractor for over 2 years through Care Oregon and suddenly they decided they wouldn t cover my visits with her. I am 6 months pregnant, in the middle of a pandemic, and need chiropractor care in order to be able to move around every day. I had an extremely traumatic experience with a previous chiropractor and was very comfortable with my current one. I told all of this to Care Oregon and they still denied care with her. They do not care about the mental health or physical well-being of their customers.
