Food was good and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere
Our absolutely most favorite place to visit, eat and enjoy the views. Excellent service and even better food!
Excellent service for a work party. Excellent view on a warm, sunny day.
Great atmosphere, great food (smoked salmon flatbread is delicious) and they also have live music in the bar quite often which give this place even more charm!
Super delicious, always worth a visit, the service is super friendly and competent.
My all time favourite place to dine in Vancouver for my annual business trip.
7 years strong and never been disappointed!!
Great atmosphere (sit on the dock during sunset) and start with a glass of wine with mussels. Yum. From there anything you order will be a delight with friendly servers. Very clean.
Excellent food with plenty of fresh surf and turf options. Fantastic service.
Always great food. Active atmosphere, great marina views, bar attached, often live music!
I was only in Vancouver for about a day and this place came highly recommended by one of my friends who used to live in Vancouver.
The location was really nice, you are right on the water looking out at the mountains. There was about a 45 minute wait to get seated but they take your phone number to call when seating is available so you don't have to just sit there.
We sat outside and enjoyed the food, my only complaints are that with the shrimp they charged you an additional $3 for rice and without the rice it would not nearly be enough food. The wait time was long which was to be expected considering how busy it was, it would have been nice though to at least have the server swing by the table to let us know how much longer we would be waiting. The server only came by when he saw my wife looking at her watch.
This pub fulfills all the requirements for a local pub. It's in a good location with a nice patio, simple but good fare and short wait times. Not life changing, but is satisfactory.
One of our favorite lounges , Live solo entertainment most of thetime, good staff , Great veiws. One of the best managers in the city
Nice location ,, good food and friendly staff ,service was good
Food was soooooo good! Will definitely visit again. Recommend a reservation as it is a busy place!
The service and atmosphere were great but the food was just okay and the prices are quite high.
Waiters are nice and helpful. I enjoy the view of the water and design of the restaurant. Kid friendly while being adult friendly. Food wise. Burger is really good. And everything looks well place and good. 5 stars from me
I ordered the rib steak and it definitely was a waste of $50. It was more on the bland side. The cut was hard to chew because of all the string-like tissue. I have found in the past that the rib steak cut is my favourite cut but not this time. The service was not great. He provided minimal service. For our dessert, which we shared, he served us by not making it to the table and reached in to drop the plate on the table that made a noticeable sound. I don't know what we did to have received service like that. The restaurant and view is nice, but not nice enough for me to go back due to the service and quality of food.
The Sable fish was great!
Our server Toby was awesome
And food runner MJ or AJ was so friendly.
3 of us went there. Food was great. All of us liked it. Awesome scenery. It was gloomy the day we went but a nice summer day would be a 7-Star experience i think :)
One of my favourite spots for lunch in Vancouver. Great, waterfront location and fresh menu. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend the clam chowder or ahi tuna salad!
We went there for a late lunch. Our server was very helpful, specifically when it came to selecting a wine...order the kendall-jackson white wine. We ordered appetizers and they were all tasty.
One of my favorite places to go when I'm in Vancouver. If you are looking for an authentic West Coast dinning experience this is it. Great food, good wine selection, wonderful service and unbeatable ocean/mountain views.
Yummy! It was warm and cozy. Great wine choices and delicious salmon
Cedar plank salmon is truly the perfect meal - wow, so, so good! Location is fantastic and service is always friendly.
The Salmon is delicious, the views are beautiful, the service is excellent, fast and friendly
Our service was terrible plus the waitress kept referring to us as "you American's." Not fun.
Our 10th anniversary and our first visit here.
Stating those points to the staff did not bring about any extra efforts to sell this place to us. It did not get us a seat at the window but out in the middle.
We waited a very long time for our first drink. In fact, had the all-around drink service been prompt we would have ordered well over triple the amount throughout the evening.
I am not cheap but at $12 a drink and $35 a plate I do expect to be impressed by service, quality and yes...reasonable quantity. Grilling halibut is not not rocket science and offering just 1 single piece of broccoli along with it is just pretentious. I think too many people are getting tricked into believing that tiny portions at a high price will instantly bring it to a gourmet standard. The sauce on the halibut was tasty but it was also no more than a simple butter sauce.
The caesar salad came as a couple of long leaves of romaine lettuce draped across and extending over the sides of the small plate. Impossible to eat with a fork alone. Cutting the salad into pieces with a knife and fork was not easy because it is lettuce and the knife was a butter knife. Perhaps I should have requested a steak knife so I could cut up my salad into bite sized pieces. (The other alternative was to eat each piece of lettuce by hand when nobody was looking as if it were a taco) Again this is just pretentious presentation before actually considering the person who has to eat it. I was originally not even going to mention it until I noticed my wife also having a difficult time eating her salad without making a mess.
I tipped 20% because that is what I do. My wife and I do have our nice restaurants that we enjoy and make a point of going back to but Cardero's will not be one of them.
When I am impressed and happy with a product I also do not hesitate to give a good review. My wife and I stopped in at IKEA the next day and ordered the poached salmon for lunch at their restaurant. The taste was outstanding, the sides were great and at 1/4 of the price of Cardero's! The only thing missing was the atmosphere I suppose but all we wanted was a good meal and it was that.
The restaurant business is very competitive in Vancouver and Cardero's needs to step up their attention to service and take a closer look at their menu offerings if they want to properly compete and to properly match up to their fabulous location and atmosphere.
Very nice setting right on the water front food is very good - enjoyed the sable fish dish
If you love food like I do- you have visit this restaurant. Christie is one amazing person. She recommended my entire menu- from entry, to drink, main and dessert! And i loved everything! Bravo!
Very good food, good service they were able to get us a table for 4 even with so many reservations from our fellow conventioners.
Amazing place. My recommendation is the sea platter. You can't miss it.
Amazing view of the mountains of Vancouver! Very good food and service
A bit expensive but on the water and nice atmosphere. Food and service was great.
Awesome atmosphere and location. Service was a bit slow at times and charcuterie platter didn't come with proper cutlery (knife for cutting cheese) or enough crackers. Lobster tail was delicious. A bit pricey for what you get but that's expected given the location. I'd return for a nice lunch with a view instead of dinner.
Atmosphere, taste and very good. In particular, the food tastes good while watching the sunset. And the servers are also friendly.
Even if you are in Vancouver next time, I would like to find it again after making a reservation.
Personally, the mussels and platters were very good.
Great seafood. Bit more expensive given the location
Excellent place. I recommend the salmon.
All the service Excellent. I recommend
Great view of the harbor. Decent prices for Vancouver. The seaside platter said it was for sharing, good thing my son wasn't hungry as it would have made me very full, but would be a disappointment for 2 adults. All the food was very delicious though.
Great food, cocktails and views. Sometimes there's a wait but it's worth it. Have fish here.
Always a great spot, excellent service, great wine list, right on the water.
What a breath of fresh air. After a horrible experience at a nearby establishment, our mid day business lunch was easily and handily recovered at this smart, well staffed and delicious restaurant. In fact, a special shout to Holly, who welcomed us, treated us with great respect offered some playful repartee and suggested some excellent options for our lunch. We all had the salmon burger which was quite delicious. One of my colleagues was standing and a staff person immediately noted this and offered a taller chair, (how thoughtful!). The view is amazing. The food fresh and the staff is beyond talented and capable. I highly recommend this exceptional place and look forward to returning on another gorgeous day.
Has a great view. Pizza is mediocre but cocktails are amazing.
Had a lovely meal sitting out on the deck overlooking the boats. Great food and great ambience. Definitely recommended.
Very good fish restaurant. Perfect service. Nice view. Terrace. Exceptional local fish. Seems need to reserve place if you want to get in the evenings. Second time and estimates are the same high.
Best service
Incredible food
Fantastic location
Great location but the food is quite pricey. It's also quite noisy.
an awesome location and a truly Vancouver Feat. Highly Recommended
Having lunch with your girlfriend? Feel like eating the last prawn??? Go for it! The server will back you up and tell your girlfriend that prawns are overrated. Cardero's-server-man, the world needs more of you.
Amazing food and awesome service. Highly recommend their wine and fish menu.
Perfect for meeting your best friends and talk or Sunday lunch. Place has live music but discreet so you can still chat in peace.
The environment is good, not a romantic type, it is a bar type that is noisy, and the food is average.
Great food and amazing service !!
Really impressed with the manager on duty and the waitress , they truly do care in delivering great customer service. In addition ,they had live music playing that really added to the atmosphere. Highly recommend this place
Negative experience. Mostly because of the quality of the food. We were expecting much better. Came away disappointed. Our server was fine.
Nice ambience, by the water, the view is spectacular. But food is average.
Delicious food and great staff especially Casey.
The views are amazing.
Always great food consistently over many years. Our favorite restaurant in downtown Vancouver.
The sablefish was excellent and service was fantastic. We would go back again no problem.
Great food at reasonable prices. Fresh seafood was great. Staff super friendly and one of the best views/locations to eat/drink in the Waterfront/Coal Harbour area
the atmosphere is nice the food is very delicious although I do not recommend the lobster
I ve been here couple times, I love oysters with a glass of sweet wine
really nice view and delicious food,. I went to this restaurant 2 months ago and always meant to write something. I ordered salmon and the little fried rice that came with it really surprised me, in a good way! not that because I'm Chinese and like rice, I would say the fried rice they made there tasted even better than our version!! I hope they have more varieties of seafood in the future.
Very good restaurant for fish lovers
Good offer of fish and meat dishes, with friendly and courteous service. The prices are reasonable, the wine and beer offer is good and varied, the local producers are well represented on the map. We gladly followed the recommendation of our tour guide and gladly pass it on.
The food tasted great, especially the mussels. The music was loud and clear, I thought there was a live band.
Very good oysters! The hostess and server who seated us (Karen & Jen) were the most inviting and knowledgeable people about the menu. Thank you for an amazing experience. We will be back!!
Great atmosphere, nice building, good service ... but the food has been on a decline for years now... hopefully these can step it up, and reclaim their reputation! I love great food, and paying the extra price is never a big deal, but last night the food was just not good at all.. 6 of us left extremely dissatisfied!
Had the spaghetti and it was terrific. Service was very good.
Really good food, great service, but basic beverage selection. A little work on the liquors and you've got yourself a winner.
