We have been using Capsim Foundation and Capstone simulations for 6 years as part of our MBA capstone course. The simulation does require some study of the training and rehearsal resources provided and some practice (4 rounds) to be able to evaluate the reports and gain confidence about decision-making. Overall, we find Capstone is an excellent simulation for developing integrated decision-making capabilities in a dynamic environment of change and competition.

My son worked there for years (me 11 years) - until Gerhard Plaschka took the reins. Down hill from there. Now, my son after graduating at the top of his Computer Science class (internet security) now works as Director of Technology for a competitor. Watch out Capsim. However, Dan Smith was one of the best guys I ever worked for - Gerhard Plaschka was, without a doubt, the absolute worst - by all metrics.

Horrible product. Work often did not save properly and was sluggish. For $70.00 dollars I would've expected a better simulation that actually had the ability to save and information could be seen seamlessly from member to member.

This product is a lot to take in at first. The interface isn't perfectly intuitive and sometimes it can even feel buggy, but I still give it 5 stars. Once you learn the software and the simulation at hand the game can be incredibly satisfying and addictive. It is a matter of learning how to achieve goals in the program. How do you outsell competition? An easy question but requires a multitude of different components to get correct. You need to learn how to forecast, how to think 3 steps ahead, how to analyze what the competition is doing, how to produce and how to make production more efficient. Once you understand all the aspects of the game that you need to play it, it becomes incredibly fun to devise market strategies and watch the competition crumble beside you.

If they work out some of the interface issues and make better tutorials for the simulation then I am sure all of the negative reviews complaining about the confusion will go away.
