One of my all time favorite places. The food tastes fresh and real. It's not packed with fillers like most restaurants. Every time I've been there it has been great. Hopefully they keep up the standards.

From the delicious Michelada to the Spanish Enchiladas, this place was amazing! Our waiter was nice and attentive and the atmosphere is fun for all ages ! 10/10 would recommend and go back for sure !

Highly highly impressed with our experience at Ay Caramba. Fast and friendly service - staff literally racing each other to check up on us and deliver us food/refills and seem to really enjoy their work. The food was incredible - best enchiladas I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. As an out of towner I had no idea what to expect, but I absolutely plan to return if I ever pass through again. This is the first restaurant review I've written, but I was so impressed that I had to share my experience. Check this place out!

Ate there last week on my vacation. Really good food. Gave you a bean dip with the chips rather than typical salsa, but had a salsa bar you could use and get additional choices. I wouldn't hesitate to go there again.

We don't come to Black Mountain but 2 or 3 times a year. However, we love Mexican Restaurants, and we thought we had found the perfect restaurant. Boy, were we wrong! My Brother and Sister-in-law told us about Ay Caramba, and that we should give it a try.
Well we did, and we did not regret it. Wonderful service and excellent food. When our chip basket was almost empty, our waitress brought a replacement without even requesting one. Unheard of! Let's not forget the margaritas. Fabulous! Our new favorite!

Good food, ample portions, reasonably priced with nice staff. The salsa bar was a plus and the guacamole was delicious.

Guac prepared tablside, large portion meals, fAst friendly service

Recently renovated and expanded to add sports bar room. Huge portions - I got 4 meals off the pictured La Favorita. It's basically fajitas over rice drenched in queso. Yum. Service couldn't be better also. Best Mexican restaurant in town with its own parking lot. Next time can't wait to try the seafood soup that comes out with crab legs dangling.

Excellent service, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Based on the other reviews we must have hit them on an off day because the taste of the food was marginal at best.

Food is normally very good, however today was an Exception.The Chicken was overcooked and dry! The Service was Excellent!

Service was good, fish taco was a fried frozen fish filet with iceburg lettuce and one of their salsas. ...sad times :( couldn't even finish the taco. My husband said the ground beef taco tasted like dog food!

I am disappointed as I have seen quality go downhill since they began. I really wanted to like them.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Asheville. They have a varied and fairly extensive selection of dishes and the food always tastes fresh. I haven't had a meal yet that I haven't enjoyed.

Friendly staff and are very knowledgeable about the menu. They have treated us well every time we go in.

Not too bad a simple order was screwed up but instead of returning it ate what I had. For the cost really wasn't worth it.

They got my call in order all wrong! Picked it up on the way home. Too far to drive to return it. Asked for pulled beef chimichangas and they put ground beef in it instead... it was nasty! Shew!

I frequent exactly this kind of Mexican restaurant about once a week. I ve tried upscale, extremely authentic, in every state I ve visited and even in the UK (worst. Mexican food. ever).

Great deals, I go every Tuesday for taco Tuesday. 1$ tacos and there not skimpy. I can only eat 2 normally. Great staff and great service.

First time esting here. Just visiting Asheville for the day. Great food and so the service was too. Found the prices to be very reasonable. My husband had the tacos and I had Pollo Con Crema. We would definitely go back again!

Friendly staff, quick service and great margaritas!

Definitely a hidden gem. The food is affordable, the staff courteous, and the food is pretty great. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 would be the difference in quality between my two visits. It was great both times but I felt the carnitas was prepared by two different cooks. On my first visit it had a slight crunch on the edges which really did a lot for that experience.

Get the La Favorita. Had takeout since the current world situation made me uncomfortable to eat inside a restaurant. Don t know if I spelled that meal correctly but my wife and I got it two days in a row for takeout while we were in the area for work and it was DELICIOUS! Great service as well. More Spanish than I knew but they are very kind and patient as well if all you know is English.

Huge portions so share, take it home or come hungry. Fantastic service by nice people.

Overall, Ay Caramba is fantasic. Friendly service is sometimes hard to find in Asheville restaurants, but not at this place. Finding fresh Mexican food in Asheville is also a challange, but every time we order food from here, the produce and ingredients always seem to be so...even their homemade salsas. It's cheap, and unlike many other places in Asheville, you don't have to wait 45-60 minutes for a party of two. It is located outside of the desirable west or central areas of the city...it's in a rundown plaza in the Oakley area...but is well-worth the visit. We live near this place and it has become a "go to" when we are really hungry, want good food, but don't want to break the bank or wait half a lifetime to eat. the tortas are some of the best we've ever had anywhere.

By far the tastiest Mexican food in Asheville!! I've been disappointed up until now about Mexican food in Asheville until i came here. Service was great too!

I bring work clients, family and friends here all the time. This evening was the first bad experience that I've had yet still feel obligated to share. The quality of food was FAR under par, even with ordering 30 minutes ahead we still had to wait 15 minutes, only to be given a bag of food with no napkins plates or utensils. I have faith in you guys, hopefully next time will be better!

Amazing place! We are super picky about Mexican food and this place has great service and tasty food- fresh ingerdients. Veggie burrito and fish tacos are amazing. The salsas and chips were delicious and the decor and bar and atmosphere is just over the top! After just moving from Virginia - we ve been twice so far and this is our go to Asheville spot!

We eat here all the time, going since probably 2014. Great neighborhood spot. Our favorites include Micheladas with modelo, shrimp tacos, chori pollo, and huevos rancheros.

My mom and I love the Ay Caramba salad! Lots of veggies, spinach all cooked on the Grill. We order with chicken. All fresh, all incredibly good. The staff is so nice! Very reasonably priced. Look forward to coming back.

Great place... Kinda small, but great food to eat and drink to sip on!

Please, I'm begging you, change your life. Go to At Caramba and get the steak quesadillas with cheese sauce. The tortilla is homemade, but that doesn't matter to you anymore, you are irrevocably changed and no longer make sweeping generalized statements

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Asheville by far. The food is amazing and the service is on point. It's great for kids too!! Can't wait to come back.
