Very nice park, I wish I found this place sooner. Lost of families out for a stroll. Many places to visit and paths to take. Real Army tanks on display and kids can touch and climb on some of them. Really great place to come for family photographs and spend some time in the Museum and learn about D day and other war battles. Very inespensive and you can spend a while day there, bring a picnic basket or a bbq and hang out with the family. Plenty of room to play frisbee or tag football.

A wonderful stop to visit with my son. He enjoyed the tank park, and we are both history lovers, so the mansion and military museum were very interesting. The flower garden is absolutely beautiful!

A lot of information about just about everything on display. Very immersive with all of the sounds and displays and a lot of creative things to do with different wars and parts of them. Awesome experience really! Got to learn a lot about tanks also since you can climb all over them! Also very cheap to go because it's only $5 a car

The grounds of Cantigny (former estate of Robert McCormick) are a lovely and tranquil place to take a walk. The Idea Gardens, Rose Garden, and Exhibition Gardens are all a treat to walk through for nature lovers, and the McCormick mansion provides something for the architecturally inclined. History bluffs will love the 1st Army Division Museum, detailing the unit's history from WW1 through the Vietnam War. Finish up with a lunch or dinner on the picnic grounds.

Coming here is awesome! The best days to come, imo, are the Revolutionary War reenactment days. They have a full set of stores set up with handmade, period-accurate goods, and they use weapons that would actually be used during battles! It can get a bit loud for younger (and older) kids, but seeing an actual cannon go off is awesome.

Wonderful open air park with lots of American tanks you can climb on. The tanks date from the first world war to today. Some of the tanks feature authentic period artwork. Close by is the first division museum. One half is about recent conflicts and features some virtual reality exhibits. The other half is historical and includes life size recreations of first world war and d day battlefields (cleverly done to fit within the building). The visitor center has a reasonably priced restaurant with surprisingly good fare. Entry is technically free, but you do have to pay to park.

Cantigny is a beautiful place and so full of history, the best times to go are mid to late spring when all the flowers are in full bloom and mid fall to see all the beautiful colors on the trees, the houses have a guided tour every hour or so it definitely worth going on, plenty of benches to sit back and relax while enjoying the view. One thing to check before you go is if any local high schools have a dance that day as the park will be overwhelmed with awkward teen prom photo shoots

Cantigny Park is truly a beautiful and interesting place to spend the day. There's a little something for everyone! I grew up visiting this place and it has a lot of sentimental value for me.

Lots of beautiful grounds to explore and those with a green thumb will really appreciate the array of flowers and other various plant stuff going on. There's certainly a lot of nature to enjoy.

Military history buffs will enjoy the tanks on display and recently expanded museum. Really cool and surprisingly high quality exhibits that I highly recommend everyone take a few minutes to see.

Don't forget to climb a tank!

Beautiful gardens, fun tanks to play on. Military museum walk through is pretty cool, but might be a little frightening for under 4-5 (war scenes) Lots of awesome activities throughout the year. Check Facebook for events!

Going to Cantigny park was awesome. It's only $5.00 a car to enter. It's really a historical "jewel". That should be visited often. Take the kids. Pack a lunch. You can eat in the grass in front of the building... There are a lot of parks to eat at... Spend a day visiting this beautiful place.

Park grounds are extensive and entrance fees are by the car. They are in the middle of a renovation, but everything is still accessible. Make sure you check out the war museum - its very interesting. Where else can you go and climb on tanks?

We've been Cantigny members for years. My father was a WWII veteran and we began going because he really enjoyed the First Division Museum. We love the special events - art fair, vintage baseball, lectures, concerts - the beautiful Gardens and paths, and the events for families. The big play space is located in a shady spot near the picnic area. Perfect for a family picnic. One of my favorite memories is sitting under the trees watching baseball as the breeze carried the music from a nearby concert in the pavilion. Cantigny Park is a gem.

This place is really cool. From the beautifully kept grounds and gardens, to the unique playground, to the awesome tanks and amazing museum, I could spend all day there with my kids. I have 2 boys so they particularly didn't want to leave the tank area. But so much to see and a great place that educates and honors the 1st Division! For anyone who appreciates the American military, our veterans, history in general, and particularly anyone with kids, I highly recommend a visit here!

Beautiful grounds (even with the on-going improvements being worked on). Very friendly & knowledgeable staff. The tour guides in the mansion were spectacular! You pay a nominal fee for parking and that's it. I would have loved to spend more time there!!

Very interesting area. It has a golf course, war museum, and very cool area for large events such as weddings. The war museum is a fascinating experience and the decommissioned tanks are very cool and fun too look at. The giant mansion also is very cool with several different tours for it. Overall very cool place with lots of interesting history behind it, would reccomend!

We went here today for family photos and were robbed of cash, credit cards and our sense of safety while we were visiting Cantigny Park. When relalizwd what happened and called the park officials they wanted nothing to do with us. I called back and told them I would take to Social media and then they decided to call the police and place an incident report.

When my sisters returned and spoke with the police, they were made to feel like the victims.

What a scam and such an insider job. Starting with the front gate attendee who you PAY TO PARK THERE to the people who watch over the parking lot and cars while families are inside and cannot see what is happening outside to the people who take the calls and complain about what happened. No one gave an interest and could care less until like I mentioned social media.

Hmmmmm they care more about the people who read about their property then the ones that come there and pay to park there.

Just shameful and. Disgusting. Shame on the guest services agents at Cantigny as well as the Wheaton Police who could care less who did this. Disgusting.
