We went here in the Fall. It was so beautiful! The trees were changing colors and they had all the Fall/Halloween decorations out. It was a great place to take photos. The historical park of the park is interesting and a surprise for us. We enjoyed walking through the building and learning about the tanks and other war related items. The gardens are very nice and calming. Take a book and a blanket and just relax. There isn't a lot to do for children per say. Inside the park there isn't any real park or area where children can play it is mostly a nature walking activity. We really enjoyed out visit and plan to return in the Spring for another look at the park.

Eye opening experience, we had no idea this military museum was so close and offered so much history. Indoor historical walk thru with recreation of battlefields, actual uniforms, gear, photos and much more. Outside a walk path guides you around the property that exhibits tanks & other artillery weapons. It's a memorial to our history and how this country defends itself.

Awesome place to see the various tanks used by the U.S. 1st Division. You can even climb on top of them. It also has a great museum taking you from WWI all the way through to Vietnam and various UN engagements. Truly inspiring and humbling knowing how hard the 1st Division fought so we can have the freedom we have today.
This place is a must see

Food truck festival review 2019

Food truck festival review 2019

Let me be clear this is for the food truck fest. 2019 NOT for the park itself! The park is amazing, just not on a food truck day! Oh everyone beware get here early, it took 30 min to get into the parking then they shut it down. As I stand here 60 people deep to get a hamburger and my wife waited thirty minutes for a pizza to be told ok it will be another 30 min is fought. They have about 18 trucks one closed so disorganized. No garbage cans ok toilet facilities don t bring a stroller and don t bring hungry kids. I would say this is growing pains and boy is it painful.

You have to pay to go inside. It was $10. You also have to buy a photo permit if you have a camera. Very well maintained place with employees everywhere. It's just beautiful. You'll probably need a few hours to walk the whole park. Only downside is they close at 5pm so this might be a place you want to visit early.

Amazing park and museum sponsored and assembled by Colonel McCormick and his estate. McCormick operated the Chicago Tribune newspaper and radio/television media empire.
The gardens are beautiful to walk through. The house tour is very interesting and quite informative. You never realize the broad impact Colonel McCormick had until you take the tour.
If you re into historical firearms, the Colonel s collection is on display and quite interesting.
Special activities are available for Scouts such as historical uniforms and activity Kits.
This is really worth visiting. We have not seen the military museum but have heard good things about it.

This park is one of the best in the area and you can visit for a small parking fee. There is no other admission fee. This is military themed and has a large museum on the South end. The gardens are outstanding and there are several walking paths. This is great for the entire family.

This place is a gem. You pay for parking and everything else is free. That includes the house tour and the war museum. The grounds alone are worth the trip and the new restaurant has delicious food at very reasonable prices.

This place is great for all ages. There's a lot to do, checking out the tanks, going through the museums, playing in the sprinklers strolling through the flowers. A great place for a family outing.

Kind of an odd place with tanks and flowers. A good place to visit if you re interested in World War One history. Otherwise, skip this place and go instead to the Morton Arboretum for more beautiful gardens and open spaces.

One of many well maintained garden parks we have visited. Also has a war memorial and extensive armor display.
Note Cantigny will be closed starting in November 2016 and will reopen late summer 2017. They will be making extensive changes to the gardens.

I enjoyed my visit to Cantigny Park. It's a great place to go for a walk, view the formal gardens, and delve into U. S. Army history at the First Division Museum. Young and old will enjoy the impressive collection of tanks situated on the grounds. Bring a picnic lunch as there are outdoor tables and playground equipment for the children. In a normal year, various outdoor concerts take place on scheduled dates in the summer. Most definitely a place for photos. Bring your camera.

I really love this place, it has become a tradition despite my moving from the area I still insist my family go here when I return home. Amazing at Christmas and in the summer. They McCormick family's estate / mansion is preserved and open to the public and Robert had a a large tribute a war museum built as well. Additionally there are terrific botanical gardens that will amaze anyone, green thumbed or not. They do war re-enactments sometimes as well. Plentiful ground even if you just want a relaxing day for a picnic. There are restaurants/ cafes on the grounds. And parking and entry is 100% free!

Absolutely love this place well kept grounds as well as Historical Museum at the main house. Wonderful displays of Tanks the kids completely enjoyed. The Big Red One Museum was superbly done. The only thing that I would question is some of the anti war end militant black propaganda didn't need to be in the Vietnam displays

Very nice museum and great display of Tanks. You can get up on them take pictures with them kids crawl up on to the barrels of them with their parents laughing and of course making sure they're safe haha. Just a great place to go with the family and even veterans old and young. There's something there for everybody and all it cost you is the parking for your vehicle. As long as it's a car, van or SUV I think it's only $10. Yikes you can cram five or more people in there and everybody gets a day to go to the museum. Can't beat that :-)
