Great memorial day service. Museum is a visit every young person should take. Kids big and small live climbing on the tanks. The house tour is a must. I suggest the guided tour. The gardens and ground are beautiful.

The hiking trails with two ponds around the grounds are really scenic.

We had an excellent experience renting the banquet rooms here (Dec 2016). The facilities are lovely, the food was great, and the staff, particularly Ms. Anderson was very helpful in making sure our event went extremely smoothly and well.

Beautiful place
Took my 9mo and 5yo. We walked the whole place lots of picture opportunities. Take a blanket & lunch and have a picnic lots of pretty spots in the shade. Bring a towel and let the kids play in the mini splash park. My daughter loved it. Worth way more than $5.

This place is just ok. Wedding here looked nice, but the food was terrible. Steaks were raw. Service was really bad too, we had to keep asking servers for food. No wine until after main course served. Wound not recommend

After checking if it was open on Google and confirm that yes, we do 20 kilometers and when it arrives it is closed !! The watchman very nice but miles to the fool.

This is very amazing. They have tanks, gardens, museum and much more. They also have very fun events for all. It's a great place to learn about the history of the area and the 2nd world war.

Beautiful, peaceful place to spend the day. The gardens are lovely. I used a wheelchair to get around. There are some paved paths but several areas are gravel or grass making it challenging but not impossible to navigate. I did not go into the mansion or museum. The staff was very helpful and tracked down a compressor when I discovered my tire was flat.

This is such a wonderful park. It was amazing to learn about Colonel Robert R. McCormick, and taking a guided tour of his mansion home was so much fun. I love looking at the old painted portraits and hearing about how life was back then. The tour guides are very informative and entertaining. The war museum was very moving and brought me to tears several times. And the gardens surrounding the estates are beautiful, with staff all around to answer any questions you have at any time. Everyone here was so friendly and I could easily spend days here, wandering the grounds. Just a beautiful place if you like gardening or history, and with lots of fun things to entertain little kids as well.

All the gardens were not yet open however the rose garden, prairie, and idea garden were beautiful. Need to go back to explore with leisure - cant believe I have lived near to this place for so many decades and this was my first visit!

This is great place to visit. It has tanks that the children can play on, as well as great gardens, a mansion and a museum. Admittance is just $5 for parking! I can't recommend this place enough!

Cantigny is a super nice place to go when you have a free day. You only have to pay for parking and once you are in there are lots of things to do. We like climbing on the tanks, visiting the military museum (which actually simulates and mocks up different environments taking you from the trenches of WWI, to Normandy in WWII, to the jungles of Vietnam), walking around the grounds and gardens, and playing at the park. You should also check their event calendar on their website because they a lot of times have things like reenactments, car shows, outdoor movies or concerts, as well as festivals and other events. Great place for a nice family friendly outing or a quiet day walking the gardens and learning about McCormick and the history of the grounds with the available tours.

This was such a wonderful place to visit on a summer afternoon. From the gardens to the tank park.
Make sure you come early before it gets too crowded and you can spend the day. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a great experience. Don't forget your camera.

Wonderful park as always. Be sure to note that the western gardens are under construction just south of the McCormick mansion, but also look to be open relatively soon with some upgrades. Also the rose garden has been moved to the Western side of the gardens inside of the hedges. As always, the gardens are beautiful. Even a pandemic can't stop God's beautiful creation from giving us so much joy.

This is a great place, especially if you are interested in military history. The grounds are beautiful and the 1st Division (US Army) museum is great.

They host all kinds of events here including reenactments, scouting, etc.

A well known park with an outdoor display of military vehicles, mainly tanks. Some well manicured flower beds. The tours inside are interesting. They have a cinema room that the Tribune management/ family used. The kitchen has some of the earliest refrigerators which I believe are still operational.

Wooow

There was a $10 entrance fee per car when we visited in Labour Day. Although the carpark was filled, there was still plenty of space in the park for everyone. We found a quiet corner to have a picnic on our own!

Be sure to put aside time to check out the War museums and the mansion(didn t manage to check that out). We were so blown away by the war museum and all its exhibits. The curators did a fantastic job putting it together to make it very captivating and engaging.

We love Cantigny. The museum is filled with information about the army and the Big Red One and its contribution to the wars. The tank park is fun to climb on. The new playground is awesome. (Its new so the trees don't provide much shade yet.) We also enjoy the kids programs they have. And they are always reasonably priced with great activities for kids!

Wonderful park, as a child I used to love climbing on the tanks and going to the fountains. As of 2017 they are doing tons of renovations so only one tank was available to climb on, but my son still had tons of fun.

Beautiful flowers, trees, and grounds generally. Lots of construction just now, but still plenty to do. They seem to have lots of events and activities through the year. We'll definitely be back when renovations are done to see what's new.

Cantigny is a great place for a range of interests, ages, and times of year. They have many festivals and events at Cantigny. We enjoyed a fall fest today with our 2 little kids. They had tent shops, hay rides, petting zoo, food trucks, and two stages with live entertainment! Great time for the family.

Roughly an hour's drive from Chicago, this place is well worth the drive. Take the whole family, bring a picnic lunch and be prepared to stay for hours. There is something for everyone here. 500 acres of gardens, picnic grounds, golf, 2 museums, and 4 eateries. There is even a golf course for those interested in that. Last summer the cost was $5.00 per car load, which is a bargain.

Wonderful legacy from Colonel Robert McCormick. I have been visiting since I was a child. The park is a great place to learn and explore. Thank you to the staff and the many volunteers that make it so.

We love this place. My wife and two daughters really enjoy the peaceful and beautiful gardens in addition to the playground and outdoor tank collection upon which the kids can climb and explore. I'm a bit more into history and enjoyed the house tour and military museum. For only 5 dollars a car parking fee and no other admission fees, this is a great place to spend a day.

Beautiful park to explore.

Beautiful park to explore.

The house was nice, but not of much particular historical significance.
