The tour of the Canal St. Martin is a real insider tip. First we went to the Parc de la Vilette and then via several locks to the channel tunnel. The guide was great, told us a lot in English and French. You saw a lot of real Parisian life without too many tourists. The tour ended at the Bastille after almost 2.5 hours.
A beautiful walk on the Saint Martin canal! Only downside: a lot of people and more seating ... A piece of advice arrive at least 30-45 minutes before departure!
While the days of visiting Paris are exhausting .... What a joy to spend 2 1/2 hours installed warm on board this comfortable boat.
Beneficial and very interesting cruise through a little known paris and which allows us to discover a slice of fluvial and architectural history very enriching.
Of course the passage through the locks (which we learn how to operate) takes a little time but SURPRISE, a delicious brunch is offered to you free of charge by the staff in the middle of the cruise with immense kindness.
Excellent and interesting guide comments.
A big thank you to the crew for their commitment and kindness.
You understood everything !
Another approach to Paris in lesser-known neighborhoods
I had done the cruise 2 years ago and I had good memories of it, this time it was not the same. The boat broke down in the middle of the ride and made us suffer a delay of 30mm. Worse than that the guide was not up to par. His comments were null (he talked about his life, his wife, etc. everything except what he should have said) The level of his English was deplorable: grammar, pronunciation etc. made his speech inaudible. English lessons should be offered to him by his management. A shame !!
I am unhappy
Home very mediocre and the guide, we understood nothing ...
In addition, I reserve for the gourmet cruise and no table, obliged to eat on the knees ..
Tourist catches ..... do not go there
In heatwave a nice undertaking to sail by boat through one of my favorite cities.
Great views of lesser-known parts of the city along and under the canal St. Martin. Guide Robin and captain Bruno were awesome.
If you like to discover the canals of Paris and the Canal de la Villette is for me the nicest of all book a trip at Canauxrama. Less famous than the Bateaux Mouches but certainly as good, if not better !
I agree with a previously posted opinion. A group of old people arrives and passes in priority while a line had been formed for nearly a quarter of an hour. The flight attendants who tell us it's the same every day. And of course no safety distance respected on board because of the overloaded boat. Inadmissible !!! I am posting this review before the cruise begins ... so I am not judging in any way the cruise, but the unprofessional nature of this
company.
Starting point for cruises on the Canal Saint-Martin with Canauxrama boats. A nice excursion recommended to do in Paris. We accept holiday checks. The team is very welcoming .
Pleasant descent of the Canal Saint Martin by boat.
An excellent cruise with a very high value to price ratio. A thoroughly enjoyable way to see a section of Paris that is often times less visited but so worth the effort.
The cruise is very good, very romantic. The guide is extremely dedicated and very professional. In addition to her guide work, she assists the captain at each lock and also serves the bar. What dedication. Bravo.
Pleasant walk on the Saint Martin canal, interesting comments on the districts crossed and the locks. Welcoming staff. The passage of the locks imposes a peaceful rhythm on us, a very rare luxury in Paris.
Very nice cruise well commented and pleasant. To advice.
We booked directly for a 7pm cruise. We received a call that the 7pm was cancelled the night before and were told we could join the 9pm trip. We arrived 10 minutes before the 9pm cruise and there was no boat, and 6 others waiting for the same trip. Every call asking about the cruise we were given a new story and told to keep waiting. The boat never showed and the cruise never happened. Extra disappointing because it was our last night in Paris. They did process a refund without issue.
Thank you to Martin Gabriel and Anthony for the super nice ballad and for making us discover Paris from another angle. Lots of professionalism and a great lesson in history, all with a touch of humor. THANK YOU
Very good ! Welcome to the top and charm guaranteed
Very nice people and friendly service, got tickets for the next morning. We are curious how it will be
They don t enforce masks and have people sitting very close to each other
beautiful, with the chance of a superb weather, a good place at the front with some spray at the passage of the locks. To do absolutely.
Cruise friendly but the incompetent guide sorry to say that because I do not like to criticize and in addition moreover it insists heavily for tips too much is too sorry .. (it was a day of strike maybe a recruited person at the last minute damage that ruined the cruise)
Enjoyable, but felt cheated, said 2 hour cruise, so you assume your going to see more than on an hour long cruise, not so! You spend I/2 hour each end of the cruise waiting for the loch gates to reach levels
So only 1 hour of cruising .
Very friendly adorable staff the guide taught us lots of anecdotes and the snack was cool 3 pancakes we added hot drinks that's what is missing otherwise the one from the canal is worth it because we go through tunnels secrets thank you
We privatized the boat Le Gavroche for our wedding party. The staff was very responsive and accommodating. The cruise went very well, the boat was very clean and in line with our expectations. We highly recommend!
Very nice cruise along canal st. Martin. Friendly staff.
Very nice cruise with a very nice guide. The only regret wearing masks tjs refractories
I m not even sure you can call it a cruise . A good 2 hours is spent waiting in locks, not moving, getting drenched in water that smells like urine. Splendid way to waste both your time and money. Tour is predominantly in French with an odd sentence or two in English which is difficult to hear over engines and surrounding noise. With no interesting sights along the way, cannot blame one for falling asleep.
It's a scam. I booked the seats for the cruise on the Canal Saint-Martin. In the morning he got me apple to ask for the cruise change. When we arrived at the point of departure, he announced us, finally he announced to us that he was only traveling between La Republique and the Bastille, we must choose either the abandonment or the reimbursement of half the price. When one is a tourist, one has no choice, because one is already the point of departure. We chose the half refund. Once the circuit started, almost all the circuit was in the tunnel and the cruise time was 45 min instead of 2h. In addition, I am not reimbursed for the moment. Many times I asked for the refund. He answers me only in the coming days. I do not think he cares because customers are tourists.
The day before, we also reserve Paris Canal. He warned me that the circuit was canceled and he reimbursed me immediately.
One wonders which company is more sincere.

When we arrived at the starting point, it was finally agreed that the Republic and the Bastille, and we had to choose either the abandonment and total refund or the cruising and refund of the price. When we are tourist, we have no choice, because we are already here. We have the refund of half the price. Once the circuit started, almost all the circuit was in the tunnel and the duration of cruising was 45 min instead of 2h. I do not receive yet the refund for now. Many times I asked for the refund. He answers me in the next few days. I think it is not a question of customers.
The day before, we also reserve Paris Canal. He warned me that the circuit was canceled and he refunded me immediately.
Which company is more sincere.
Despite a strike that had no impact on the cruise, the turn of the locks to the basin of the vilette was a discovery in the heart of Paris. Nice guide for his first cruise on the company, explanation in French and English. Captain smiling despite the small payloads. To do,!
Nice experience to do with family or friends but a guide not necessarily up to date on the historical level.
Boarding location poorly indicated.
In the rain no interest, sad and dark. To see under a very bright sun and be well specified the boarding address.
We took the 2 1/2 hour canal cruise along the saint Martin's canal. Good views of the pretty tree lined streets and bridges. The guide spoke mainly French but also some commentary in English. As you go through the locks there's plenty of time to enjoy a drink from the bar which was very reasonably priced. Seating comfortable. Plenty of good views from both top and bottom levels.
Nice stroll on the canal Saint Martin with interesting historical landmarks, a trip to La Villette a little useless and which makes everything a little too long (3 hours !!!)
It was well until we arrived at the locks, so it's much less romantic than the promo website. I was disappointed because I was expecting to sail long ...
This allows you to visit the North of Paris by the Saint Martin canal, and to cross locks. Provide a vest if the sun is not there.
Extremely unfriendly flight attendants the pompom is the bartender ... the lady who comments should review her English ...
Otherwise very nice ride!
Nice and pleasant walk on the channel of ourcq. The passage of the locks and the crossing of the various districts of the city of Paris visited change from the traditional exit in a fly boat. All this over a period of 2:30, enough to spend a beautiful afternoon.
But how can such barge companies have amenities and operate in this kind of tourism sector ?! A boat at the edge of decency by way of cleanliness. a staff completely overwhelmed and condescending, a total amateurism worthy of an outing from a fair, a promenade punctuated with uninspiring locks, a boat cruises flats managed by amateurs devoid of the duty of commercial reserve supposed to be theirs, with in addition and especially the endangerment of passengers during the embarkation and disembarkation phases. in short, dangerous company and especially to strongly advise against the risk of paying for nothing, and falling into the water.
When you are lucky and come during winter you might enjoy entire boat for yourself. We were only 8 people on a boat for 100+. When you come to Paris for second+ time you should take a boat trip. Make sure you check the departure time since there only few trips a day during winter.
A very nice ride on the Canal St Martin with the Arletty. Along the water (and the locks) we discover Paris differently. Martin at the microphone teaches us a lot about the different buildings and other parks along the route and with a lot of humor. When Martin stops talking, he will open the bar where cold drinks are waiting for you. There is even a local beer (we pass in front of the brewery). There are several locks but not too many. It's interesting to see that. The must is the crossing under Paris. In a tunnel lit by circular openings, the atmosphere is calm and strange at the same time. The tunnel takes us to the Arsenal basin. We left a little late and it was very hot. Please note: the fixing of the benches on the upper deck can be harmful to the feet. The captain is also very friendly and pro
Cruise Friday, August 23, 2019 from the port of Arsenal, under a bright sun, 2:30 passions realize it thanks to the comments of a very interesting and humorous guide, a good time in conclusion, that I recommend.
.
This tour is informative and the young lady who tells us about the history of Paris is very enthusiastic and animated. Definitely worth going on and a bargain at 18 euros.
Nice journey for this 2h30 trip. Very beautifull and very Nice crew Bring a blanket to stay outside during winter.
Superb cruise !!!!! Congratulations to the whole team.
To do without moderation for a very pleasant walk and discover an unusual paris.
The welcome is warm and professional.
Saturday we went up the Canal St Martin.
As soon as possible I test the descent as the view and the feeling will be completely different.
Friendly welcome, interesting comments that allow you to forget the 2km tunnel and the 8 lock passages. The possibility of disembarking in the Parc de la Villette in the afternoon is very pleasant.
Very nice, and full of historical anecdotes throughout the course.
A pleasant way to spend an afternoon, some of Paris' sights from a different aspect. There's a bar too and coffee if you prefer
To absolutely avoid the safety distances are not respected and the wearing of the mask either.
The staff are overwhelmed and resigned.
Having arrived at the end of the embarkation we were 3 and no client gave us 1 place the guide did not ask either !!!! Because the boat is overloaded so no respect for distances.
I understand that we must make up for the shortfall but not at the expense of health security.
I am very disappointed and I threw 45 euros in the trash 3 hours of interminable and unbearable cruise, all 3 sitting in the back next to the engine and the smell of diesel between bikes and strollers !!!
A little nod, however, for the very pleasant and confused bartender;)
Nice impressions on the water and in the tunnel. Unfortunately, about half of the 2.5 hours passed only for the lock. The guide hardly spoke English and the note with the descriptions was about 15-20 years old
Superb walk on the canal Saint Martin. The comments are of quality. Very pleasant. Passage of many locks that can however seem a little long.
They take boat trips to the center of Paris, a different way of seeing the city
We had a great time and a wonderful narrated guide up the Canal St Martin. Very cool to see a different side of Paris and hear some history regarding the modern city.
A pleasant enough way to while away 2 and a half hours, going from central Paris to La Villette through Canal Saint Martin.
The canal goes through the heart of Paris, starting with a mile-long unlit tunnel... Pretty boring, I hear you say, but no, the aeration ducts throw light onto our co-passengers and glimpses of the structure are actually quite interesting.
Next comes the canal's outdoor run, with a large number of double-locks. The first couple of locks are all good and fun, the rest are really quite tedious as nothing much happens.
At the end, you are rewarded by going through Bassin de la Villette, a vibrant area in the north of Paris.
The commentary was, well, a commentary, it was fine, especially if you're not from Paris.
The boat was fine too and includes a bar (or as we know it, a fridge, a coffee machine and your host)
The part with the locks took far too long, but there's nothing they can do about it, the locks have to be gone through and each one takes several (long) minutes with nothing happening.
So, chill out, you can watch people and places go by on the banks and make sure you come back by metro!
I think it's time to invest in headphones guys. Let people choose when they want to hear information or enjoy the view in peace. Take Amsterdam as an example where the sound arrives in your language, when the boat passes the attraction.
Also, it's pretty strange that you talk to us for 5 minutes of something to finally say "but there is nothing left and all you can see is a white building on your right", or "it's a slaughterhouse, but no animal has ever set foot in this slaughterhouse. "
Paris off the beaten track. I would never have discovered this part of Paris: the bassin and vilette
Non commented visit. No staff on board to take the microphone to give some info despite my request because they do not know the monuments. Hard to believe when you drive a houseboat every day on the canal.
Fortunately the pancake person is very friendly.
I do not recommend this company.
Great boat tour through the St. MARTIN Canal OVER 2 HOURS WITH MANY locks and interesting views and tunnel trip to the Bastille. Very good explanation by the tour guide
We enjoyed the freshness under the trees. We recommend ;-)
The idea is tempting, but the result is very boring: 20 minutes through a channel tunnel, then over an hour in four double locks. From the ship one admires walls and curious people who are amazed by the large and immobile ship in the small locks. In the end it gets a little better, especially when the view is clear for the parc de village. But then the 2 1/2 hour drive is (finally) over. Next time we choose the Seine again, which offers many impressions in an hour.
The tour is literally going through 4 double locks(very slowly) in 2 hours. Some history is provided but no real interesting architecture can be seen besides the Bastille column at the beginning.
Pleasant walk with passage of locks, complementary with the boats Fly navigating on the Seine
Stunning night cruise with glass of champagne included in the price. Martin provided entertaing commentary. Ship size was just right compared to some of the massive overcrowded ships we passed. Extra treat going in and out of a lock at beginning and end if tour as the boat is berthed on a canal on side of the Seine. Highly recommend this trip for entertaining value for money.
Very interesting to see how the boats pass by the river with the locks changing level, in addition the guide was very nice, pleasant and fun.
See Paris differently with this bucolic stroll on the St Martin canal. The route can be quite long, especially if other boats have to use the locks. Plan a health stop before boarding because on our boat there was no toilet, as well as drinks.
in addition to or as a substitute for a cruise on the Seine, here it is the Ourcq canal that will enchant you just as much.
I had some mis communication with my boar ride and when on vacation it gets stressful, but canauxrama treated us great!
A boat trip in a tunnel is something special. The many locks are also a lot of fun. Just a nice, relaxing way to get to know this not very well known but very interesting corner of Paris
The walks on the Canal Saint-Martin are great ... The price is reasonable ... On the other hand, for having done it many times, there are guides who are sorely lacking in finesse and their questionable jokes are sometimes heavy . They should also agree on the anedoctes because they are not the same from one trip to another and we no longer know who to believe! Fortunately, the canals offer a calm which allows detachment and gathering.
Beautiful experience, certainly to recommend. Among the various available tours I chose the morning one that goes from Bassin de la Villette to Bassin de l'Arsenal: 2 and a half hours of peaceful navigation in the basin and then down in the over 4 and a half kilometers of the Canal St Martin, with its 9 locks, 2 revolving bridges and a tunnel of almost 2 kilometers, for a total height difference of about 25 meters. The operations of maneuvering the various sluice gates and the hydraulic systems for filling and emptying the gates are very interesting.
The best boat tour I've ever done. (Tour: "Canal saint martin") The boat tour leads through various canal locks, through an underground canal path to the river "Seine". It was great that this boat tour also traveled the small canals. 2.5 hours went by very quickly with funny and informative conversation. Highly recommended!
Guide speaks in English and French :)
