Our experience with the "Schachenhorn" campsite was bad. For this reason there is only one star.

The waiting times at the registration were disproportionately long. This was then rewarded at reception with a bad mood and grotesque jokes. As you can already read in the other reviews, dealing with customers is anything but friendly.

The corona problem was handled too carelessly. In the toilet and shower rooms, only a fraction of the visitors were kept at a distance, let alone a mask.
This is of course primarily due to the behavior of the visitors, but it is still the duty of the campsite to ensure that their guests are adequately protected.

The billing process is very cumbersome, difficult to understand and showing its age, transparency is different!
Providing cash in 2020 as the only payment option is, in my opinion, very backward and not customer-friendly.

On the tent meadow, no spares were saved, these were distributed to the mostly young campers at will and without vigorous motivation (as far as we could judge). Fortunately, this did not affect us.

We are not sure if this is a kind of business model of the campsite, to accommodate as many campers and tents as possible and then to throw people out again in order to keep the 80 deposit. At least it seems that way.

Beautiful little cabins right on the lake at reasonable prices

Very nicely located campsite children and dogs friendly beautiful beach area good entertainment program. Weekend live music can be a bit louder. Thai German cuisine. Neat and clean toilet and shower areas

Great campsite. Especially the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The security man with his nimble electric scooter is always on the spot when it's on fire. The only thing to complain about is that the employee Thomas also deserves an electric scooter, on those miles he pulls down in one day. But otherwise great!

The first impression was great, the hut as expected and above all, super nice neighbors! When it rained heavily on our last night, it turned out the lodge was not tight, and when I phoned at 10:30, there was no one to reach (which is perfectly understandable!). When we left the next morning, I should pay the remaining money and asked for a small compensation. According to my description, I was accused of lying and my money was torn out of my hand. This rocked so high that I was forced to contact the police. Too bad that there are no 0 stars - in this service more than appropriate!

Actually, a beautiful campground just totally overcrowded one is pretty crowded together .... often no toilet paper ..... of three shower brands 3 did not work, which I did not find nice ..... ok for short campers

For this campsite you should already seek a lawyer in advance. Absolute fraud warning. The Swabian unfriendliness of the Platzwarts knows no limits. For the disposal of the garbage they have a two-hour period on the day and woe the garbage is not one hundred percent correctly separated.

Personally, I am not someone who frequently writes reviews, but in this case it is important to me to urgently advise potential future guests against this campsite. We came as a group of couples (all in their late 20s). As young adults who are fully committed to work and life, we first had to sign a form with rules of conduct for young people (!) And were advised at the entrance of a possible expulsion in the event of violations. It is of course clear that some rules have to be in place for pleasant camping, but we missed a friendly tone on the part of the stewards. On the one hand, strict rules are given, on the other hand, the site attendant goes into the unclean sanitary facilities without a face mask. Add to that the tightly packed seats with a small gap, in Corona times you should perhaps put the health of the guests above the sales figures.
Conclusion: For guests without common sense who need clear rules, exactly the right thing! I recommend everyone else to steer clear of this campsite.

It is very beautiful here. Quiet, right on the water, great hikes can be made. I can only recommend it.

Extremely unfriendly staff who absolutely do not feel like their customers. You have to take care of the booked additional options such as electricity yourself, which is difficult depending on the location of the place. Despite the cable drum we had no electricity. Another place, although everything was free, we were not allowed to occupy the place assigner only made us stupid several times but could not give a reason. We should just borrow an extension cable for the electricity. I would rather sleep in the car for a week than another night at this campsite.

I'm always happy when I'm at the campsite! Here you can escape the everyday life really !! It is always great to make friends with other people of different nationalities! Even if sometimes only with hands and feet goes ;-)! All in all a great place! Great team ! And delicious food !! Wier will see us again soon when it says * Party one * at the Schachenhorn !!!! We approached this place last weekend as an emergency solution because our "regular place" was unfortunately completely overcrowded. At the reception we were allowed to fill out a slip of paper with our data, after which we were shown a place with the mobile home that looked more like a crowded fair car park. Here we stood close to our neighbors. During the walk with our dog we were able to get more, but rel. discover pleasant places u. also move on request at the reception.

Everything else has actually already been mentioned:

- Sanitary facilities: showers cost 1 for 4 minutes, dirty u. full of spiders, only one shower was open in the evening
- Meal: Instant pizza 2 13, soft bottom, burnt on top, and completely neutral in taste
- Volume: the constantly passing train tops everything I have seen so far, in the morning I was wide awake in the alcove shortly after 07:00
- Electricity: constant discussion with fixed campers, where can be plugged in u. if not, there are not enough pillars
- Friendliness: this was definitely a given with us, but letting the employees sleep in an old Vova between garbage cans allows strange conclusions to be drawn about the operator.

All in all, the space itself has potential, but how tightly bend u here. break is put to tickle out the last cent + train + sanitary situation make the whole thing off.

Although the location with direct access to the lake would actually be ideal, on the other side you will find a well-traveled road and a railroad track that is used day and night.
The staff was extremely unfriendly, especially when we asked for the shower tokens ( 1 for 4 minutes) we were rebuffed beyond measure. When we registered, we were also greeted rudely; we were told that it would have been better if we hadn't made a reservation - even though the operators suggested and accepted the reservation a few months ago.
We waited 20 minutes for the usher, only to be crammed into a disproportionately small stretch of meadow between other Womos, apparently at random. When asked whether we could not stand the other way around (with a bed facing the lake), this was inflexibly refused - that would take up space for more mobile homes (?).
We had the feeling that younger guests in particular were not being taken seriously and will certainly not be back.

We have been going there for several years. In the past, the rather unsettled location (the majority of the parking spaces is located directly on the railway line or main street) was compensated for by the friendliness of the staff and the certain charm of the place. Unfortunately, everything has been lost today. We reserved for the first time, that was the only nice contact (but the 2 stars). Somehow we didn't feel welcome. Every request seemed too much for the reception and the large-scale shit with the tourist tax is not only unfair to the other hosts. Pity!

Very, very unfriendly staff, sanitary facilities not really clean. The lake is filled with sand for the first 2 meters, then 100 meters only mud and algae. I was there one night and this was completely enough. 1 time never again. Especially not recommended for young adults.

Very biased staff. Sending people off the field is probably common practice. Before we could even register, I met 50 people who were thrown off the pitch. During the registration, an employee first accused me of having to hold my parties elsewhere. Mind you: I only said Moin.

We then waited for hours before we could register at all.

Arrival was 9:30 am, registration at 1:00 pm

Later we were sent away because of the remark: "Corona is only for old people" while we were registering, because the said employee felt directly attacked.
It was wisely a personal conversation in which she was not involved in anything.

But I can't recommend camping there to anyone who doesn't have wrinkles on their face yet.

Oh yes, by the way, pre-registration was not possible.

In addition to the prejudices that I had to endure as a 31-year-old, I also attest the female employees a heartfelt "Ok, Boomer!"

Space under construction with many construction sites. Meadow partly not available at the moment due to new construction. When that's all done, the place could be really nice.
Now to what really bothers me. Friendliness left a lot to be desired. Some permanent or half-year campers really very unfriendly, parking spaces very small, when it gets full it is quite noisy. Organization well.

The front desk treats young people under 30 like second class people. There were four of us, between 22 and 26, and had to discuss practically in order not to be stuffed into the mud / blazing sun on the youth meadow . We weren't taken seriously either, but we were allowed to leave a 20 youth deposit per person. We somehow got a nice, shady place on the "family meadow", hence the second star.

The food in the restaurant is okay, the drink prices are good, but the service is really bad. The staff in the restaurant are the least motivated I have ever encountered. One morning we stood in a queue of around 15 men for 40 minutes just to get our rolls

The campsite is otherwise completely overcrowded and there are no designated parking spaces.

Then - a single chip to enter the sanitary facilities for 4 adults - incredibly impractical (and another 20 deposit).

Showers cost 1 for 4 minutes, you have to buy extra. The sanitary facilities are unclean and untidy, and some of the toilet seats hang to the side of the toilet.

Corona measures are ignored by most of the guests and enforced by the staff. The staff themselves do not wear a face-to-face mask.

Apparently young people like to be thrown out for trivial reasons - fortunately we were spared, maybe because we made it to the family meadow.

We will not be back and can not recommend the place.

Bathroom needs to be cleaned more frequently. Thai buffet is average at best. Won't visit again.

First of all, you get there and the chaos at reception is great. You have no perspective. The next fear is that you will not get your deposit back, which is much too high at 20 euros per person. The usher is totally unfriendly and looks like the biggest drinker. The tents are squeezed close together there. It wasn't full and yet we should be squeezed into one corner next to the others. After a short discussion, when the guide showed who is the boss here, we were finally able to get our preferred seat. But only because we stayed for one night. The tent meadow is also more of a tent field. When we got back to our tent in the evening, a Mercedes bus had been placed 1 meter from our tent and the associated tent on the left. And that during Corona! Privacy nil. After all, the campsite is beautifully located.

Disappointed. Have met many campsites in Central Europe. This has by far the rudest service and the dirtiest sanitary facilities. As a young adult, one has the feeling of being directly labeled a chaotic. There were always hints that we should not drink so much (we did not have any alcohol). One is treated very derogatory and not taken very seriously. Not recommendable.

Location of the campsite is very good. The condition is in the frame. Sometimes the sanitary facilities are not very well maintained. What was really exhausting were the tent neighbors who did not take the night's sleep seriously. Here the operator has to take more action. In addition, the opening hours of the waste separation plant have been rather sparse. The buffet on Friday evening was not what you would expect from a good Asian buffet.

All in all, the campsite is rather average!

Beautifully landscaped well-kept campsite. In the high season a reservation is obligatory.

The campsite is in a great location right on the lake and you can swim really well. Unfortunately this time (we were there for the third time) it was anything but clean! There were spiders everywhere in the toilet and bathroom and the food was anything but delicious.
This time we were definitely the last time here because the quality continues to decline ... a shame

I was spontaneously a weekend in the middle of the holidays there, was quite crowded, everyone was in a good mood and friendly. The Thai food is great, the breakfast was delicious and cheap. When I was surprised by a thunderstorm, the son brought me in a great mood with the umbrella back to the motorhome

If you are holidaying on this campsite and underage is not friendly received, the staff is rude and has prejudices. Then you should also consider whether you rent a small hut because that is only Lock offers for me in it has difficulties to stand. We were traveling with two other families and stayed in huts. The location on the lake is nice but that's the only positive! The campsite is right on the train track, which is terrible at night!
The huts are filthy without end and I can't find words for the toilets! Just disgusting! Wouldn't go back and unfortunately can't recommend it to anyone!

For an overnight stay, the small cabin with bed was enough. We even had electricity. Next time we stay a bit longer. The playground would have to be renovated. Super clean sanitary facilities. Great location right on the lake. Many children. Good for families

Very simple campsite with some construction sites and garbage bins. Annoying shower brands and a reception building that does not deserve the name. The operators were very nice and helpful. All in all you can but you do not have to.

For adults, there are beautiful places, clean meadows and chic wooden houses, teen are sent to a dirty area the floor is covered with bottle caps and glass shards even before noon, all are drunk ..
The showers cost extra money and are paid with shower coins, of the showers is however a defect so that you can take a shower.
The service in the front desk was not very polite when we arrived, the washing machines or dryers are not very clean or not working properly .. All in all, I would not travel to this place again.

Very nicely located campsite. Nice staff, always a joke on the lips. Without advance notice, we got a campground, right on the water with a fantastic view. On our next trip to Lake Constance we will set up our tent there again.

When we arrived at the entrance to the campsite, an employee was standing there who greeted us with the words there is no more space .

Then we showed him the email from above and the answer was, I've heard that from 80 people today.

Then the campsite operator came personally. He said that it was not his problem what was in the mail.

Absolutely not recommendable, extremely unfriendly and incompetent - do not stand by your statements! NIEEE WIEEEDER !!

You want to take a break and then something like that:
-Booking was of course not possible in advance
-The staff was quite rude and spoke a little condescendingly to us as young people
-very overcrowded which of course is absurd in Corona times
-Our tent neighbors didn't get their mouths shut until 5 a.m.
In the morning we caught two intruders in our tent forecourt
-The latter two points of course were of little interest to the groundskeeper, cheeky
-and the sanitary facilities were not the yellow of the egg either

Young people who want their peace and quiet should not go to the youth campsite at this facility.

Great campsite except for the absolute night's rest from midnight when you are no longer allowed to stay outside the tent.

Contact was made with the booking form on the website. Hours later I get the answer that booking a hut is no longer possible, but I can book another hut. Then two days passed because there were still open questions. After answering, I wanted to book (a total of 3 days after the first request), now the replacement hut was also taken.
The behavior here is not really professional, but at least I got answers - 2 stars for that.

Totally crowded place. Had to share a place with another camper, one of them could not even extend the awning. Nevertheless, both motorhomes were fully cashed on the grounds that we could have left again. In addition two bad experiences with other staff, which was unfortunately very rude (restaurant / kiosk). Regularly used railway track is located about five meters away! Sanitary something come down, but clean. The location right on the lake is otherwise very nice. In the whole unfortunately not recommended.

Staff in the front desk nice and helpful, staff in the kios and restaurant rude, sanitary facilities outdated as the whole Platz.Urinalbecken was 5 days clogged then locked. Also don't understand the many negative reviews from the youngsters. There are rules that you have to adhere to. Arrived a week ago, without a reservation and were accepted without any problems. If you sit quietly outside and don't shout loudly like the last Assi at midnight, or have to try the amplifier, nothing happens.

The only thing that bothers me is the long registration time, that's why 4 out of 5 stars

The staff was very rude to us, or even extremely rude. Our jukebox ran in the evening with appropriate (lower) volume before the night's sleep. The leader of the campsite came at the time we were on the road for a short time and entered our tent without our permission to steal the box, which in case of emergency can be reported as trespassing. So when we asked him at the reception desk and wanted to get our box back, with the promise to turn them off, all the staff of the campsite turned around and threatened to throw us from the campsite. After a long back and forth they kept the box, although this was nowhere in the "house rules" (I call it now), that they would be entitled in a case of this kind (the same evening they have from almost all young people on the Campsite the boxes removed for no apparent reason). We were expelled from the camp that same night, but with the possibility that we still can stay for 100 euros (which almost borders on extortion !!!) we logically refused and had to drive our car with residual alcohol levels from the square, spend the night there in the parking lot and come back the next morning and clear everything else, otherwise they would have called the police (although we stayed decent). However, we were charged for the night including all other utilities, although we did not use any of them except the campsite, i. per person over 10 euros for a night we had to spend in the car !!! The staff also did not negotiate with us (we talked decent with the people) and called us bad, etc. !!!
Absolute No Go !! If we camp again next year, we will choose the campsite in Gohren, about 45 minutes from this place. This place is generally not (even for families) to recommend !! In addition, young people get here only the completely filthy places that are contaminated with bottle caps and other garbage!

I keep it short and crisp, the staff was rude and under GAR no circumstances you can leave after 12 clock the hut more. The sanitary facilities are very dirty and the cabins are under all sow. Do it yourself and avoid this campsite.

I have never given a rating. But I can't help it here.
Treated extremely unfriendly at the reception. As a young person under 30 you have to pay a deposit. The caretaker is the "king" of this place and arbitrarily refers the people of the campsite. We had to leave after one night because we supposedly didn't keep the night's sleep. After a tip from the named caretaker, we went to our tent and talked at room volume - without music. The next morning at 8.30 a.m. we were kicked out very unfriendly. An explanation on our part was dismissed or you didn't want to listen to it.
Conclusion: one night was enough. Never again. The staff (especially the receptionist and the caretaker) are rude and beastly.
Incidentally, nobody is interested in the corona rules either.

We stayed at this campsite for 2 nights but unfortunately for the only and last time!
The location is great, apart from the tracks behind the square, it is right on the water.
On arrival, despite our age of late 20s / early 30s, we had to sign something for young people to confirm that we would be quiet from 10 p.m. It's great when you want peace and quiet like us. The observance of the rest time at the campsite was observed, at 10 p.m. the music had to be off there. But this did not apply to the much louder music of the life band of the campsite, which played on both days until 23/23:30 ...
There were very friendly staff, but also very unfriendly and outrageous, which can really spoil your vacation.
The sanitary facilities were anything but clean! According to the CP, you can shower for 4 minutes with a shower token for 1 euro, in reality it was just 30 seconds!
Garbage can only be thrown away 2.5 hours a day, which was not possible with us because we were not on the square at these times.
The queues at the kiosk were very long, the staff was slow and it took forever to order your order.
The campsite was too crowded and new guests kept arriving until the sunbathing area on the beach was full - so we went to a different lido and found out that there was a cheaper and friendlier way to rent a sup board.
On Fridays there was a Thai buffet, which was great but was very small and not worth the price of 10 euros. The fire show that was performed by a circus was very nice. All in all more bad than right ...
