First of all: the place is quite nice and reasonably clean, absolutely okay for the price, BUT: It is completely unsuitable for groups that don't just come to drink! We (8 people, mostly female) were crammed into the square with the other young people. The space for youth groups was overcrowded, there was nowhere to walk without stumbling over strings and the tent entrance was blocked for some! (people were still accepted anyway) But the absolute blast are the rules of the area and, above all, how they are implemented: music is prohibited from 10 p.m., which is a bit strict, but still acceptable. At 12 o'clock sharp every evening a 'nice' gentleman stood in front of us and ordered us to go into the tent (because of the night's rest) and didn't leave until we really got up. On top of that, the security ran across the square several times during the night (only over the campground of the young people, mind you) and reprimanded everyone who was still talking (!) In the tent. So no matter how old you were and no matter how you behaved, you were treated like a felon! I can only strongly advise against the place.

Dear campsite operator, we are happy to come to you, but it would be time to take the concerns of our guests slowly seriously. The cleanliness in the sanitary area left a lot to be desired and the washing machines and dryer do not look better either. Show and campers and guests but simply that we are welcome, that we can feel comfortable with you and always like to come back and disappear the ugly comments from the net and let's face it, you do not want to shower in a clean shower or cobwebs and go to a bathroom that is whole and not relaxed?
I was 2 years old with my daughter, on the way to the campsite, by car, was treated very rude by the groundskeeper. I should kindly drive backwards and didn't even know exactly why. When I pointed this out to him, please use a different tone, he ignored me! He said just park here! (At the very end of the world) in a very unfriendly tone and became very loud.
I drove up later and found a parking space.
Once there, this "arrogant person" hung up a sign for lunch breaks.
I wanted to visit my aunt, wanted to bring my daughter and luggage to her for a short while and wanted to pay directly.
Then the groundskeeper came and told me to leave, whatever I can think of to just walk in here. I just wanted to tell my daughter that she doesn't have to stand in the busy parking lot, so that I could wait 40 minutes until the end of the break !! Reservation is not possible. We had registered by phone beforehand and they said we should just come over and, according to the operator, there will always be a place to camp for us. Once there, we were sent away by the operator in an extremely unfriendly and arrogant manner and white, because the place was full. I recommend going to another campsite.
Positive: Staff is nice, restaurant is good, it is also Thai food offered, breakfast was very rich, sanitary area is clean and functional, priced ok, Lake Constance is within reach, something negative: train tracks and road directly behind the campsite, pitches in the season is a bit tight. Unfortunately, there is nothing good to say about this campsite. I don't even know where to start. On arrival you have to sign a long list of prohibitions. Including absolute night's rest from midnight. I welcomed them at the beginning, but on the first night I was taught otherwise. The night's rest is not enforced, loud music is still playing everywhere and people are shouting around as if one were in a monkey enclosure. No one was evicted the next day. The employees have probably never heard of Corona. People who come with tents are treated like second class people and crowded together. Social distancing was not possible here. No attention is paid to wearing the mask. In the sanitary areas there is a mask requirement, but this is observed by almost no one. Employees do not point out the existing mask requirement, but ignore and tolerate this behavior. In addition, the in-house restaurant does not comply with the reporting requirement, the book is basically empty, almost no guest signs in and data protection is also very much missed. The book is lying around openly accessible to everyone, very irresponsible. But that's not all. The receipt obligation is also not complied with in the restaurant and is therefore a further violation of applicable laws. The sanitary areas are dirty, the space is generally not very inviting and the staff is rude and unfriendly. Questions are answered annoyed and one has the impression that one is undesirable and that it is best to leave straight away. The prices are absolute usury for what is on offer. In addition there is the deposit, which is completely excessive. For a toilet chip 10 and, for example, 5 for the parking ticket (the parking ticket is just a blue smear sheet that does not cost 5 cents to buy). Throwing out and withholding the excessive deposit ( 200) seems to be really common practice here. The reasons for this are flimsy and just ridiculous. Yesterday about 40-60 people were evicted for alleged disturbance of the peace. Bullshit. The groundskeeper was not there once to check, only warned once, but after that there was also quiet in the corner, except for one or two conversations, which were conducted at a low and acceptable volume. The next day the guard came and just threw everyone out, no matter if loud or quiet. When I left, the reason came to my mind. New, more profitable visitors. A cheek something.
CONCLUSION: Never come here again, I can only advise against it. Unless you want to experience a horrible and terrible vacation, then I just say, have fun at the Schachenhorn campsite.
We chose this one to sleep there one night. Were led into a narrow lane and narrow place by a man who asked us directly if we have ever paid. This just pointed to our pitch and drove quickly without words or so on. Pitch directly overlooking the Bodensee disadvantage was only all the guests ran to our camper and under the awning to the water. Very disturbing, we then put in the way but helped nothing. The first toilet we visited was a trailer. Rinsing the dishes was rewarded with ice cold water. Later in the evening, shouting and shouting at fellow campers who were still full thanks to the alcoholic drinks. We were there for 2 nights. Sanitary facilities, i.e. toilet only possible by visiting a restaurant and borrowing a key for a deposit of 20 euros. In a corona battered situation, such a bowl rental is rather questionable from a hygienic point of view and the high number of guests. Places too tight and really unfriendly reception staff. The guide, however, was really nice. Will we come back Rather not.
Ideal for people who like to camp in a nature reserve in a beautiful location, but do not frighten children after playing and regional trains passing nearby even after 10 p.m. Only the plots are a bit narrow.
Clean and idyllic campsite on Lake Constance with beach. The sanitary facilities are clean and the service at the front desk very friendly. On the tent meadow there are enough power connections and the beach is directly accessible from the tents. The place is picturesquely in the nature reserve. The railway line in the immediate vicinity does not bother and no trains leave in the evening.

We felt good. Simple plumbing, the showers could be a bit bigger. The staff was relaxed and friendly. Some may be too relaxed, but we liked it. Kudos to the cleaning lady who was so friendly and helpful! We (2EW, 2KI, 2HUNDE in the caravan) will be back for sure!
The campsite was good and relatively organized. The only downside I found was that you had to pay for a 3 minute shower, the restaurant was not something I would say. It was by the lake just off our tent 3 steps. Small beach of course other very good. Staff polite.
In no way recommendable! The staff is unfriendly and not helpful, the sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness. Throwing people out, including keeping bail under flimsy pretexts, seems to be a business model, especially when it comes to young people. Also not recommended for adults, especially families with children, as loud and overcrowded.

Very familiar campsite. Very nice pitches for Womos. Clean shower and washrooms. We did not expect to get a parking space without a reservation during Corona times. That we could then stand directly on Lake Constance made us very happy. We would love to come back!
I am a permanent camper there and I love it! All employees are friendly and nice, the Thai buffet on Friday is always delicious! The food is great too! There is such a beautiful view. The prices are not like at the pharmacy, I would recommend everyone to see the campsite. There are also concerts and free internet
In itself actually a nice campsite, but unfortunately we were received extremely unfriendly. A lot is done to intimidate the (younger) visitors in advance: pages of etiquette to be signed, threats of expulsion, bail for everything and we were only allowed to stay if we were at least 30 years old. Despite Corona, the place was completely overcrowded, which made it almost impossible to keep your distance. The mask requirement in the sanitary facilities, which were not particularly clean anyway, did not interest many guests, which was not punished despite the otherwise strict behavior of the operator. In the end, they wanted to charge us one night more than we were actually there. The operator had entered a wrong arrival date and our visit ended with an ugly discussion. We weren't sent off, but we definitely won't be back either.

The place was packed with everything that came there, tents, mobile homes, vans or caravans. No free choice of space possible, parking is only allowed to the millimeter following precise instructions, in rows of three without intermediate routes. That means, if it went stupid, the front campers had to dismantle so that the rear campers could leave. So you're almost sitting on the plate of the next one. Bad organization, keeping escape routes and rescue routes clear was only to be dreamed of. There was no briefing. Under the motto "learning by doing". Due to the large number of people, the cleaning staff couldn't keep up with keeping the sanitary facilities (too few for so many people) really clean. We didn't shower at all for the whole weekend, despite the heat, because either there was no shower available or it was just gross. For the same reason (a lot of people) the noise level in the square was extremely high until late at night. So no trace of relaxation. That is one of the reasons why we left earlier. Despite the bad circumstances, the full price was collected. I've never experienced anything like this in my camper life. And I've been camping since I was a little kid.

The only bad thing that I find in this campsite is that they could have a little more toilet in the bathrooms and showers, otherwise it is great. We had a super time and the service is very good.
