Unfriendly staff are looking for reasons not to give you your deposit back for every little thing. Four of our tent neighbors were sent off because they were supposedly too loud, but I can't confirm this. The price of 6.50 euros per night was actually quite stimulating, but the costs for tent, parking, showering, rubbish, electricity, toilet, washing hands, rubbish separation make it a rip off.

Absolutely no recommendation, look for another campsite or sleep in the car.

Very nice campsite right on Lake Constance. You can rent small wooden houses that are reminiscent of stilt houses. In the restaurant there are German, but also delicious Thai dishes.

The campsite has its own beach on Lake Constance. Is the equipment very well maintained, but already a bit old. It can be quite busy and turbulent, if you do not mind something like that, have a nice stay and fun.

In itself a great place with a great view.
But why then only two stars?

- The biggest no go is the huddling together of campers, no matter whether tent, camper or caravan. In the best case you have 1 m of space to the neighbor. In our case there was only 50 cm space between the awning and the neighbor. All of this has nothing to do with the basic idea of camping. The greed for profit is clearly in the foreground here.

- Waste disposal is also regulated here. Delivery only from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. And what about the campers who want to leave before 10 a.m. ???

- Kiosk staff also very rude and listless.

- The toilets smelled of urine in the evenings. However, everything was clean in the morning.

Too bad we would have loved to come back, but this was our last visit and we prefer to go to places where camping is fun.

I was there with a couple of friends and were expelled after the first night of the place, even though we weren't loud at all. The friendly campers around our tent have also confirmed this. In spite of everyone talking to each other and did not give us back our deposit even though we left the place properly.

Pitches can be a bit tight for space as busy. On site bar/restaurant serves good Thai. Showers good, hot water 1 extra. Site has own beaches into Bodensee, but dogs not allowed to swim on site. However is only short distance to public beach, which is less silty and shallow for a good distance. If you want less shallow water it's 2km to Bodman.

Good view, free choice of location, relaxed staff. Restaurant good. Thai cuisine. Price-performance is right.

We stayed 2 nights at the Schachenhorn campsite. We really noticed that the staff at the registration desk and at the kiosk there were very unfriendly.
The campsite was unsanitary and the Corona rules are questionable. Camping is used as a Ballermann replacement in one area of the site. During the first night, someone near our tent vomited loudly at least once. There were two large piles of excrement on the beach, which apparently did not come from an animal. However, these were removed relatively quickly in the morning.
The one star can only be justified by the good location.

The campsite stretches along the western shore of Lake Constance. As a result, there is actually no plot far from the water. Tracks run parallel to the square, but no trains run at night. The first Thursday at around 5:30 a.m. The sanitary facilities are too small and dirty, at least in the area of the huts. The toilet seats are partially damaged. Showers only possible with brands, one for 4 minutes costs one euro. There is a separate children's shower, which can be used free of charge. We had the Villa Windschief. This has 6 beds and is a bit remote. Unfortunately, the hedge prevents the view of the lake when you are sitting. But a very nice little house. Unfortunately there is only a small children's playground and only three rental boats. Unfortunately, one of them was broken. Only cash payments are offered.

Cramped, crowded and absolutely not dog-friendly. Dog must not enter the water or ANS water. Never vacation there!

I was in a cyclist's hut. These are simply set up. There is a small stove in every hut so that you can stay overnight even at lower temperatures. The huts are relatively far away from the entrance, that only matters if you want to get in after the official evening rest. The car then has to wait outside. The staff was very friendly, we were allowed in earlier and out later, as our hut was not occupied before and after us.

Absolutely not a recommendable campsite. As a small group of three, together with 5-6 other youngsters, they were evicted from their place after one night without any prior warning. We were there in the first week of August. Long waiting times when checking in and out. Corona not present. No protective measures in the wash basin and sink (only every second one should be usable.) Sanitary very dirty. Place so full that we thought we were at a festival.

I am writing this because of the few 1 star reviews in the last few days, because I have only one thing to say: nothing but brazen lies. I was at the campsite myself with my brother at the time and the people who were expelled from the campsite confused the campsite with a night club and celebrated and listened to music until late into the night. Small hint: you can hear everything through tent walls, that's just a thin tarp. If you don't believe me think about the following: why should a campsite owner chase away his paying customers for no reason? And yes the campsite is full, welcome in high season.

Hello, we were 4 weeks on this campsite, with minor interruptions. The sanitary facilities are old, but always clean. The food is good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Things can get tight during the holidays. We will be back.

Poor service. Unkempt camping site. Zero monitoring at night. Train every 15 minutes at 5 meters from the place. Cabin hat.

-No care for Covid19 and social distancing. No capacity limit for tents.
-Car park is far from tent place.
-No tent pitch. Distants between tents was less than 0.5 meter. Even without Covid19 too close. No privacy.
- Very crowded. No limit to new incomers. Even at 22:00 there were new guests.
-Registration takes long. You have to wait until someone shows where you should put your tent. They even decide in which direction should be the entrance to the tent.

Huts closely together, some sanitary buildings unusable, unfriendly reception. The only positive: direct access to the lake with a bathing permit

Nice campsite, right on the lake, the boss knows everyone personally. Nice personel. Top priced. Restaurant with bread service (super delicious), price / performance okay! Sanitary facilities are ok, but could be "overhauled". Cleaning takes place several times a day, but and therefore a point deduction, it is not ok that the cleaning lady washes her mop, with which she wiped the floor, in the sink where you brush your teeth!
Unfortunately, some campers leave the toilet / shower and the washing-up area like the pigs, it is a shame that not everyone pulls together.
4min. Showers for 1 are borderline, whereby the 4 min. not always like 4 min. seem to be.
The railway line and road run right past the square, but didn't bother me personally.

Nice campsite suitable for families and teenagers. But you can not expect much from the staff.

On the whole, everything bad that goes. Staff and groundsman very rude. Toilets only accessible with a chip and not clean. Everything too tight. Ground warden sends everyone to the tent at midnight. You feel like you're in jail. Never seen a worse campsite. Absolutely not recommendable!

Super place rather small but top location almost in the lake

Nice location right on the lake with its own beach. Delicious food in the restaurant. But train line and main street right next to it.
Many teenagers and young adults attend, who listen to loud music all day until 10:30 pm and thus sound almost the whole place. Even after this time loud laughter and conversation !! Extremely disturbing for families with smaller children!

The campsite was not really good like the food in the restaurant. But the good wooden railing with the Super Torx screws was legendary.

Spent the weekend at this campsite as unfortunately no other was available. We will definitely not be going back why .....

Winter break at the campsite Schachenhorn.

I've never stayed at the campsite before. We always come by foot for a beer in the evening. So we got the feeling of vacation.
We are also happy to be here for the music events. Due to unfortunately not taken place in 2020. Hopefully again in 2021.

At the moment the campsite is showing a completely different beautiful side.
I wish all campers great and enthusiastic opportunities to vacation and enjoy again in 2021 ... wherever it is nice and possible

Badestelle, very nice, unfortunately unfriendly staff and at 22 o'clock is night.

Nice staff, very simple and relaxed process. We were 4 friends and spontaneously managed to get a place. Toilets were clean, as were sinks. The campsite is well divided, a meadow for young people, but they do not disturb the front and the night's rest from 10 p.m. is also checked.
Breakfast is tasty and not overly expensive. The restaurant also offers small snacks and delicious Asian food.
The location is beautiful with lots of nature and fantastic surroundings!
If the weather is nice again, I'll come right back !!!

The employees are friendly and open.
The sanitary facilities are clean. Unfortunately, there are always guests who leave their own "dirt" and then complain that the sanitary facilities are not clean. If every guest would use the facilities as they would at home, there would be no mention of "sanitary facilities not clean". It is not for nothing that you leave this place as you want to find it.
We were and are always satisfied with the choice of seating.
If someone writes that the space is too tight, then that is a sign that the space is popular
If someone is looking for absolute tranquility he / she should look for a hut somewhere on a mountain.
As far as possible waiting times are concerned ... if you go to a campsite you usually have vacation and thus also time to wait for the groundskeeper.
The employees are only human and, in our opinion, do their utmost to ensure that our guests have a pleasant holiday.
We would also like to mention the Lake Constance guest card, as it can be used for free travel by bus and train.

We will definitely be back and recommend this campsite to others!

We were assigned directly to the youth campsite even though we only had 2 under 18s with us.
At first I thought, since you had to sign very strict campsite rules, that it would be rather quiet. But only the night's rest was controlled, but this was very strict. You were even stopped on the way to the medical supply store (which, by the way, was reasonably clean) and asked where you were going.
During the day, our neighbors, who were very addicted to drinking, played German rap from 6/7 a.m., which was never pointed out to the campground regulations by the staff.
Fortunately, we were still able to enjoy the lake and the nearby Ludwigshafen.
In addition, there are hidden costs such as 1 for shower tokens, although we only found out afterwards that they were only needed for hot water and finally we were allowed to pay a small tent more because we were not told that a pavilion was only free on the 3rd tent.

Spontaneous admission worked . Reservation is not possible. Food was very good. Space very close to the neighbor. Friendliness and cleanliness could be improved.
Overall a good & cheap place (ideal for the youth).

Have been very nicely instructed by the groundskeeper, our request was a place by the water and we got it. The waste separation is taken very carefully here (yellow, blue, organic). There are garbage opening times for checking and sorting out. We have already experienced that bags were given out for separation (right when checking in). Maybe a little tip ???

TO ALL YOUNG PEOPLE:
Do not go to this place under any circumstances. The owner does not take young people seriously and does not offer any freedom to compromise in the event of problems. Instead, he just screams and becomes insulting or deviates from the essentials. Due to "too loud music", which no other camping guest in our immediate vicinity perceived as such, we were chased from the site in an unfriendly manner and with the direct intervention of the police at 8 pm.

With the words "I don't give a shit what you do, sleep on the street or drive home drunk in your car" the reprimand was pronounced. After the offer was made to him to hand over the jukebox, since we were leaving the next morning anyway, he called the police. The officers felt sorry for us and understood our predicament, which is why they coaxed a compromise from the owner, which he reformulated immediately after the police left: he keeps the previous deposit and we pay the stay + an additional deposit, i.e. he Enriched by 40 per person.
In our opinion, the owner is just an eccentric, old man who wants to enrich himself with the unfortunate situation he brings young people into.

We, 4 girls between 16 and 17 years, were in a good mood on the way to the campsite Schachenhorn. We arrived 2 minutes before the lunch break at the front desk and we were immediately slammed the door in the nose, as the front desk staff from their point of view No more 5min had to assign the place, but insisted on their full 60min lunch break .. So we had to wait with our complete luggage for an hour in the blazing sun. Instead of getting a quiet place in the meadow, we were immediately labeled as "drunkard" and came to the other drinking youth on the somewhat isolated, unorganisierte Platz .. Since the floor was made entirely of stone, we could not our pegs in the Reinstechen soil and thus not completely tension our tent. The sanitary facilities are not really clean, the floor is cleaned with dirty towels and spiders are found everywhere .. Overall, the campsite is not recommended, unfriendly staff, the place for the young people more reminiscent of festival mood than on camping holidays and Since tent was built on a tent we did not really have privacy.

Camping to avoid: the staff at the reception is not very friendly, the place is very noisy (road and railway), sanitary are clean on the ground but many spiders have taken up residence in the premises, showers are charged with a system of counting the random time (1 euro = 4 min), the pitches are very small, some small spaces of beach but not enough to justify the price. The only good thing (hence the star) is the restaurant where the food is good and the staff pleasant.

A nice campsite right on the lake with several swimming spots. The heart of the square is the always well-frequented restaurant with kiosk. There is Thai buffet every Friday and musical entertainment on weekends. The staff is friendly and helpful. The weekend was very crowded. The bathing places are well suited for small children. Very tight space in the Corona period is actually an absurdity

According to the signature of the cleaning staff, the toilets in a toilet truck provided on the site are only cleaned every 3 days, although the site was very full.

Despite the information on the ADAC website, the Camp Card is not accepted during the specified periods. According to the employees, the boss is against it. In addition, a car will be charged for a parking space if you come with the caravan.
Our costs amounted to 31.80 per day for 2 people instead of the 19.80 according to the Camp Card.
I also specified the discount card in the reservation by email, but it was no longer accepted on site.

All in all, the holiday on Lake Constance was very nice, but next time it was guaranteed to be on a different campsite.

I have not experienced something so outrageous. Before booking asked if there is still room and Wi-Fi is available there. After paying at the end of the place, outside the wi-fi range, between broken-away caravans have been parked behind wooden huts along the way, though other places were still free the evening. This, of course, for the normal price!

Nice camping place it was completely overcrowded and yet the friendly staff let us in so we didn't have to stand in front of the door the night. were then changed over the next day with a beautiful lake view. Toilets and showers were neat. Beach was clean and lawns as well.
