unfriendly, dirty & arbitrary
We were 3 couples with 2 small children. As soon as we arrived we were greeted in a very unfriendly manner and literally insulted as "who you are the worst". Because of the children, we stayed anyway!
On the first evening we were warned several times because we had a fire in our 60 cm high grill! A few meters further, guests (of German origin) also grilled on a disposable grill (max. 10 cm high) which was fine for the operator.
On the second evening it was said that it was taboo to have a barbecue because tents are everywhere. Furthermore, we were told that we are forbidden to speak from midnight, ban on speaking !! There was no music playing, there was no more fire, they just talked.
After part of our group was pissed off to bed, the three of us went for a walk and looked at the beautiful Lake Constance. That too was too much. We were yelled at (!) Not to stand around here, we should finally go to bed otherwise the police would be called.
We took the whole thing sporty and laughed at the "securities" because we paid for the place just like everyone else.
I would recommend everyone to go to another campsite. The operators are unprofessional, unfriendly and very arbitrary. In addition, the toilets and showers are more than nauseating.
It stinks like hell, the facility is already quite overgrown.
We will avoid the campsite in the future.
ATTENTION RIP-OFF:
we had planned to spend a nice weekend at lake constance and after just one day we were expelled from the Schachenhorn campsite without any explanation or explanation.
on the day of arrival we had to pay a deposit and the first night. we actually wanted to pay directly for the whole weekend, but that was not possible - which seemed strange to us from the start.
the next morning we were yelled at by the boss and then kicked out. the alleged reason for this was that we left the campsite in the evening. we were not informed about the fact that there is a ban on leaving the campsite and wanted to try the conversation again, which led to the boss losing control. We had to fight for our bail. With us on that day more than 6 other groups were sent off.
The Schachenhorn campsite is absolutely not recommendable, as the employees try with all their might in a rogue way to make money.
Campingplace was really bad, no grass, trees or privacy whatsoever. Furthermore the guy at the front desk was very unreasonable about where to park your car. Experience was so bad we decided to go wildcamping instead....

We come regularly because you can't make a reservation and there is always a place on the tent meadow. It is true that the music should be turned off from 10 p.m. and that after midnight it will be a complete night's sleep. Completely okay for me as it is a campsite after all and not a festival site. Unfortunately, I have to confirm that the staff is working a bit. Every team member complained about how much was going on instead of just letting fewer people onto the pitch. No arguments were allowed when placing the tents. (Discussion about tent size) The end of the story was that we then had to sleep in smaller tents even though there would have been enough space in each direction during our entire stay.

The four of us spent the weekend at this campsite looking for some relaxation. Right from the start we had to pay over 100 deposit for all sorts of things, which I find very unusual for a campsite. Relaxation is unfortunately not to be expected here as a young adult. Because of our age, we were placed in a corner of the campsite, where the "loud" campers are placed. We were filled with loud music from every side, it was roaring and shouting until late at night and it didn't get quieter when asked. Checkout is until 12 p.m., however, the reception is at noon at noon. Garbage should not be taken away before checking out at 12 noon, since the garbage cans are locked from 11:30 a.m.
The only positive thing I noticed was that the sanitary facilities are very clean and the scenic surroundings are beautiful.

Was welcomed friendly on arrival, we were shown the place with places where we can stand down with pros and cons, for example. Tree with wetness that can be screwed down, or where it can be muddy in the rain. Have chosen a place with gravel, thanks to rain at night good decision. Sanitary rooms very new and clean. The campsite is very beautiful. We didn't see any unfriendly employees or operators. Some people complain about unclean sanitary facilities. If everyone cleans their shower or toilet, would everything be OK or not? Should the operator clean behind each guest or what? We will definitely come back.
Great campsite. Sanitary is not special, and everyone is placed side by side. Restaurant is fine and not too expensive. The campsite is located directly on the water, which is accessible to young and old. The campsite is very beautiful and they could do more with it than what they are doing now.
Dirty, crowded, unfriendly staff. As already read several times the place is absolutely not recommended, we were there as a stopgap, but the next time I prefer to sleep in the car. Beach dirty, toilets dirty, showers full of spiders, and exactly: also dirty - no matter what time of day. Everything works together tinkered. Dogs on the square have shit us in front of the caravan - great! Staff was very rude and preferred to sit behind the kiosk to be nice with beer instead of cleaning the toilets. 5 or 6 showers for the entire front part of the course, who wants to queue here is just right. The same with the toilets. On our place was after a short rain already a single pond so that you could only walk with rubber boots. Awning could not be built because the neighbor was so dense that even a small awning would be hung in his caravan. As a coronation, there is next to the place directly ne railway line where in the morning half past 5 the first train rushes through. Behind it, the road can be heard clearly. All in all, not recommended.

We had wonderful days here and the campsite team is friendly and helpful. The place itself is clear and clean. The sanitary facilities comply with hygiene regulations and are always cleaned.

If you want to ruin your holiday with unfriendly staff, muddy tent meadows, dirty toilets and far too little space, Camping Schachenhorn is the right place for you. The groundskeeper randomly throws people from the square who seem to have been suspicious of "disturbing the peace". If you want to talk about it with the groundskeeper, he becomes stubborn as a small child and insists on his house rules. All in all an accommodation that I absolutely cannot recommend to ANYONE.
The ladies at both the front desk and the bistro are rude and naughty at the limit. On my first morning in the bistro in front of the assembled team, the lady at the bar asked me in an incomprehensible tone if I can not read. This only because I wanted to buy bread and you have to order the day before. Although this was in the brochure, but this information should be passed on verbally at the reception. Parents with small children often have a lot of stress because of the long journey and therefore no time to read all documents immediately.
In addition, the smell of the sanitary facilities was extremely strong. There are two fixed times to dispose of the garbage. At 10 o'clock you have to get out of his hut, but only at 15 or 16 o'clock you can go in. After 8 weeks in Italy with the Womo we made a stopover on this place. The location on Lake Constance is pretty nice, the benches, playground and other facilities are quite nice. The seats are not parceled, the operator rides the bike from the place to explore whether something is free. Overall, the area is neglected, but as far as Ok! The 'restaurant' is more of a fast food, you have to order at the counter itself, pay, call the table number and then the food is brought. In our case, this did not work, because the staff was hopelessly overwhelmed and we had to watch a lot of discussions at neighboring tables, where it did not work either. In the end, we got a replacement meal, because the rice had gone out (?). In the morning, it took me 30 minutes to get the rolls ordered in the evening, which was because many guests ordered a full breakfast at the same kiosk, and when you're number 10 in line, you have the A-card pulled. Conclusion: work preparation and management of a restaurant "poor". You dodged that way. And then came the waste control. The garbage can be dispensed only twice a day in a 90-minute window and of course must be separated, after glass, paper, plastic, metal, organic waste and residual waste. When pouring out my paper garbage, which I had in a plastic bag, I was very clearly pointed out that the bag did not belong there (which I never planned to do). The hammer was, however, that the garbage controller then neatly knotted my knotted garbage bag to control it. And in fact he had caught me because I had a coffee filter in it illegally, which of course was organic waste (oh how embarrassing). With the remark "yes, this is already going on" he has then fished out this filter and fed properly to the organic waste. Well, order has to be!
I choose campsites primarily through recessions, as well as this course due to generally quite positive opinions, but I have not been so off the mark all these years. This location is difficult to beat in terms of mismanagement and German control mania.

Never experienced such unfriendly staff. Instead of being greeted upon arrival, the owner came up to us and said he had almost had bad experiences with football and youth groups and it made you feel unwanted from the start, even though you were told at the reservation two months ago, that the campsite would be ideal for youth groups (which is advertised on the website). So we were then regularly monitored by penetranten staff and rebuked. In order not to disturb the other guests 'night's sleep, we left the area at 11am, but when we got back the night watchmen were alarmed that the other guests' night's sleep would be disturbed. So it came to a verbal battle, which emanated from the staff of the campsite and ultimately could be created with the help of the police ad against the campsite. This did not suit the owners and so we were expelled the next morning from the campsite, although our neighbors also confirmed that we had behaved properly. In the end, it was better that we had to go, because otherwise we would have only annoyed more about the staff. It was bad that we should be gone by 9:30 a.m. But was okay.

I cannot recommend this campsite for various reasons.
The campsite operator is arbitrary and unfriendly and in the course of our stay has expelled several groups for more or less justified reasons. This included speeches in the tent after midnight, but one group was also expelled from the campsite because they sat on the beach promenade one kilometer away at night and listened to music. In addition, in these cases the deposit was withheld due to "damage to the image".
Despite these tough controls, compliance with the rules was sometimes not implemented at all, so that we could not sleep because of the loud neighbors.
Hygiene and distance rules were not enforced, disinfectant dispensers were mostly either broken or empty and the operator personally ensures that the tents are built so close to each other that it is not possible to maintain the required minimum distance.
I always like to come to the Schachenhorn with my children. The place is still affordable and is perfect for a beach holiday with children. Even if you can not stand in the first row but you are fast on the lake. The place offers in the high season a lot of program and there are always enough other families there. The "Youth Meadow" is well separated, so you can also find peace. The sanitary facilities in the back could sometimes a renovation contracts, but overall, they were very neat for the rush in the summer holidays. In the restaurant you can eat cheap - the Thai food is excellent.

Unbelievably unpleasant reception one is addressed with the name blabla because one can not pronounce the name. You are ridiculed in front of other guests we were there with two caravans over 7 .6 meters because they said something they do not really want. We had a place with the permanent campers that was the absolute horror we had to go ban on their rules get. We travel a lot but we have never experienced anything like that during the whole camping time. Place itself is really beautiful. The boss is really competent and friendly. But the employees at the reception the worst thing I have ever experienced. We will not go there anymore and if every other campsite the day costs 100 euros.
We were on 10.Okt. There, we were happy to get a seat, because some Champing places have already closed. The operators were already in the process of winterizing the Champingplatz. Had nice view of the water and great sunrise.

Showers only with a shower tag. The place was so full at the weekend that I should actually give a star deduction. The groundsman was so nice and came to meet us so much that we spent a few very nice days:) I also think the night rest regulation is completely fine. I don t think it s okay if you re partying in such a crowded place until night. For campers who want to sleep at night, it is simply exhausting. It is also positive that there are no lanterns and you can sleep dark in the tent.

We stayed one night in 2 stilt houses and can only recommend them for a short stay. The campsite is located directly on the lake with several accesses to the lake (sanding and swimming possible).
The prices from the restaurant / kiosk are totally okay, the food tasted good and the portion was sufficient. Nice staff (except when you arrive a bit cautious at the reception).
The playground was also totally okay and sufficient for our children aged 3-5 years (at least in the off-season), otherwise a climbing frame and maybe 2 football goals on the meadow would be nice and a suggestion.
To be criticized and therefore only 4 stars:
The children's bathroom smelled of an old wet dog, the showers upstairs were totally calcified, the flush in the single toilet was too high and was too heavy to be operated by small children alone and the hand dryer.
This makes no sense and should be fixed urgently. Flushing didn't always work either.
Baths for men and women were okay and clean. The only thing that should be changed is the floor squeegee. This consisted of several towels and really does not work. Something new would not be so expensive here and should be changed.
All in all a very nice campsite.
And since we and our children liked it so much, we will be back. Therefore recommended for families and guests from 20/25 years;)
We chose to camp here for one night despite the bad ratings. The 1-star ratings are spot on! Unfriendly staff, very small places, a curfew??, Impolite owner/supervisor. Seems like Corona didn't exist here. One of the worst campings Ive been too... Beware, they charge a 20 fee per person to "keep you in check". Also 10 to park your car and 1 per shower coin. I definitely do not recommend this.

Great place on the lake caught, unfortunately very tight. We were lucky and were not quite so stuck. We have been using the motorhome on different campsites for two weeks now, but we have never seen such unfriendly handling. From an extremely questionable "greeting" by the unfriendly receptionist, if you can call it that, we were accompanied to a place that was simply completely overcrowded due to Corona. All information about the place and the terms of use there had to be pulled out of the nose of the unmotivated and really disrespectful place cowboy. The summit was our departure, when my friend was instructed to wear the face mask in an aggressive tone, which seemed to be no problem for me when I registered the night before. Interestingly, the groundsman, who was mentioned several times, didn't seem to have one either. However, we would like to praise Thai cuisine! Nevertheless: once and never again !!!!
Beautifully located campsite right on Lake Constance on one side, on the other side about 10 m away from the train and a little further on the main road. The operator places the mobile homes so closely that there is hardly any privacy. We thought it was a real rip off. The sanitary facilities are showing their age. We don't even want to imagine if a fire breaks out or an emergency doctor has to be carried out. No chance for the rescue vehicles.
