They have a policy of no visitors after 11 pm which restricts any friends from being there unless you add them to the reservation at a cost of $30 per person. This is a ridiculous policy and I will never be staying at this hotel again. I was part of a group of 6 girls but only two were staying the night. The remainder 4 were not allowed to stay past 11 pm. Book elsewhere if you will have guests remain after 11 pm.

This place deserves 0 stars but I don't have the option to do so. I was traveling from New Jersey and I had the worst experience ever. I booked the room for three people through Expedia yet the hotel made my friends pay a $25 fee for every additional person. I booked the Kings Suite room which is meant for 4 people easily. When I informed the hotel staff they were extremely disrespectful about the situation. The night manager, who was extremely rude, did not explain anything properly. Aside from all this, we had to pay for parking$27 without being informed. Breakfast is not included either. If you're looking for a decent place to stay for a weekend in downtown Toronto, you're best bet is Holiday Inn where you won't have to pay for any additional costs. Every person we encountered at the hotel was extremely unwelcoming. Aside from all the costs, there was a spider in the room! In our King Suite! And the room we received was right next to the construction area. We were not even able to sleep well as there was sounds all night. Complete crap of a hotel. No hospitality! Not welcoming at all! Please do not waste your money on this hotel.
Large comfortable room and very friendly, helpful staff. However, there was an extremely loud announcement over the room's PA system at 6 in the morning, obnoxiously waking us up, announcing that there would be soon be a fire drill. We stayed awake so we wouldn't be awakened again by the fire drill, and then it never even happened. We were not warned during check in that this was going to be happening. When you're on a vacation and you want to sleep in a bit, this is not the kind of experience you expect or want to have.
Nice, but very disappointing. The WiFi is so slow in some rooms that you can watch the screen paint row by row on your screen. And they closed the kitchen BEFORE 10:00 then wouldn't let me eat the piece of pizza I had to walk down the block to get in the bar area even though we'd already bought 3 drinks and my company had spent $2,500 on rooms there. The rooms were nice and clean so it could have gotten a great rating from me. But little things they could easily control like the bar thing show mgt has made bad policy and/or hiring decisions. And the WiFi was a total failure.
Great visit! Sheila at front desk was so sweet and friendly. Reminded me of Maritime hospitality. We visited TO for week...she always greeted us. Leona our room attendant was friendly and did good job. On vacation so wasn't making my bed. Lol. Our suite very nice. Liked the bar, french doors to room....all very cozy. Never ate at restaurant. Cambridge had great views and pool. Centered right in downtown I was able to walk from Ripley's aquarium to Red Lobster and Chinatown. Covered a lot of ground. Perfect location!!
Place was basically a prison. Went to Toronto with friends and saw this place had pretty good reviews. Little did we know that if you laugh you get a damn noise complaint. Don't come here if you and your friends are looking for a hotel in Toronto.
This is a good place to stay when needing to be downtown. The room I had must have been a smoking room in an earlier configuration. It wasn't overwhelming but it definitely grew some as the amount of time in the room did. However, the room was very clean, everything felt modern and it is a ton of space. The location is what really sets this apart. This hotel is as close you can get to the center of the downtown business area unless you are sleeping on the street. Highly recommend this place and just be sensitive to the smell and deal with it if it matters to you.
I've stayed at this hotel before and the stay was alright. When i stayed the first time there were police in the lobby which was unsettling. was given a credit to come back because of the situation. When I stayed there this weekend once again the Toronto Police were at the hotel. Night manager was rude and refused to explain what was going on and yelled at me saying "it doesn't concern you, Just go to your room" was not impressed.
VERY RUDE WAITER (JEREMY)!!! Overall experience at this hotel was fine with housekeeping, checkin, guest services, and cleanliness of the suite. However, Jeremy from their Portico Restaurant made a very rude/racist comment to me during breakfast prior to my checkout. I had my plate of food and was looking for an empty seat (heading towards a corner seat), and Jeremy yelled out to me, in front of other guests having breakfast, "Yo boss, your mom is over there, why don't you go sit with her?". Now I'm a solo traveller in my early 20s, not sure what he meant by that comment but it sounded very offensive. Was he judging me based on my age and assumed I was a teenager? Was he trying to make a racist comment as there weren't many asian guests there at the time? Either way I did not want to make a scene as other guests were looking at him as well, and I just sat down and had my food. BUT this hotel needs to get your service staff together, this type of behaviour is absolutely unacceptable.
Very clean room, very nice staff, smiling and polite. The hotel becomes barred from 23h and security guard permanently on the grounds of the establishment, which secures us during the stay
Very nice old school hotel that primarily caters to long term business or tourist travellers. Nice restaurant on site although we've only had breakfast there so far (Christmas Day buffet - standard eggs, bacon and sausage, etc. but very good). The lobby is small but all oak and puffy sitting chairs. Extremely helpful and cheerful front line staff. Underground parking available with direct access to hotel lobby. Not cheap but parking in Toronto isn't anyway.
Our room is a suite and although not huge, large enough for the two of us so we're not bumping into one another. One TV in the bedroom and one in the sitting room. Not really a kitchenette but has microwave, fridge w/ minibar, Keurig coffeemaker, and bar sink. Free WiFi. HUGE washroom area includes a separate tub and shower. Our room was on the backside of the hotel so not much of a view but I'd imagine it would be nice for people overlooking Richmond Street. One block away from Yonge and walking distance from most downtown amenities.
Upper end on the price per night scale but if you're flying into Toronto, I'd definitely recommend bundling this hotel if it's made available. Either way, I'd highly recommend.
This hotel is at a prime location with walking distance to the best attractions -- Ripley's Aquarium, CN Tower, and Ferry to the Centre Island. If you don't mind a mile walk, you can walk to China Town as well to enjoy some real authentic Chinese food.
Room is fairly clean and staff are very friendly and courteous. They gave me a local map just in case I don't have a Canadian GPS. My deluxe suite is very spacious with a microwave, sink and fridge, much like a studio apartment except a stove. They have a no-party policy after 10PM which is great so that our little one could have a quiet sleep.
The only feedback I'd give to the hotel is to have a little more flexibility. Check in time is 4PM and we arrived at 11:43AM. We know that's way too early so we were not expecting the room to be ready. They kindly offered to store our luggage which is nice. However, upon coming back at 3:24PM our room was still not ready. Given that they know we already arrived and with a baby who needs rest, they could have been more considerate and prepared our room as soon as possible.
Also both our room cards malfunctioned twice, which resulted in us being stranded in the hall way close to 11PM. They do not appear to be demagnetized by credit cards because we always leave one in the room, away from everything else.
Clean, cosy rooms and a fair price. Located downtown near several great bars, restaurants, and within walking distance to some of Toronto's best markets. Well worth the stay and would definitely come again.
Stayed in a suite for the evening. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location is great, being right downtown and accessible to several attractions.
Very spacious, plenty of rooms, I even blocked up the toilet and they offered to switch rooms however I let the plumber do his magic and all was good in the end! Just be careful if you go crazy with unlimited Mountain Dew refills elsewhere, you may too have plumbing problems when you get back to the room.
Clean, quiet, nice interior decor. Towels and soap, etc. plentiful. Room was arranged well w opt-in if having bedroom separated by doors or open to rest of suites. Bathroom had two entry options which was appreciated. Overall, our trip to Toronto was wonderful during the day and the evening bc we could sleep w out interruption and accommodations were very comfortable.
It is a tired hotel for the money: few things had to be fixed right away: toilet bowl and central heat. Maybe it was a bad room. Place needs renovation to justify the price.
It's hard to beat this place for the price. Good sized suite for the price of most small rooms. Friendly staff and clean. Cheapest in room snacks of any hotel I've seen.
Nothing. They would not let me into my room because the front desk girl did not register my name even though I called my friends who were registered and did have my license plate on file. I told them everything that was in my room and they still did not listen then the night manager called me a dirty white boy who lies. I did not go in there to cause trouble and just wanted to go to sleep but I did start to get angry after the night manager started being discriminatory and disrespectful. I will never stay here again. The rooms are nice but it is overpriced for the terrible service.
Just not what they should be. The room had been hastily renovated and could have been done a lot better. The elevators are always painfully slow. The internet is slow and cuts out a lot making it unreliable. The main plus is s great staff.
"Green is the new black" - this is their sign when it comes to being environmental friendly, however, it seems like this is referring to the mold around their bathtubs. We tried the first room, and the room wasn't cleaned properly. We didn't notice until later since we arrived, dropped our stuff off and then went back out. When we noticed, our son was so tired and ready for bed. We first noticed that the soap was extremely used. Also, the water in the kitchenette didn't drain at all. We complained about all this and the front desk manager was sorry he said. However, they didn't do anything except move us to another room until I really complained. After that, he gave us free breakfast. I would have preferred a reduction of cost of the rate we were paying for a terrible room/service. The new room was nicer and cleaner but bathtub was still moldy where the caulking is. Later we realized that the sink in this "kitchenette" also didn't drain at all (important to note that neither kitchen drain had a plug). This hotel is not even close to the standards of the Hilton, Sheraton, Double Tree, Westin, etc. It's in a good location and parking is affordable, but the rooms are not up to par, beds are mediocre, you can hear EVERYTHING outside, and the breakfast is greasy and average. 1/5 based on the terrible experience and how it was handled.
Nice hotel...was older for sure..Location was good. Staff was good. Room was nice, but the doors between the living area and the bedroom where of some weird glass. I would put in some other type of glass. Mini bar was locked...how do we use it. 3 elevators all running as slow as possible...weird....No breakfast included and it was not that good when I got it 1 morning.
Convenient location. Helpful staff. Underground access to PATH and subway as well as shopping center. Large suites with additional comfortable sofabed. Clean. Good buffet breakfast for an additional fee. Parking available.
Staff are friendly and overall a clean hotel, have had problems twice getting the room deposit back in a timely manner. Always seems to be construction in the area at night, making it difficult to get a full nights rest.
My favourite Toronto hotel. True, I get a good rate but you can too on various travel booking sites. The restaurant is excellent. The bar is friendly and comfortable. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The location is great, although not the quietist, but that is Toronto.
Stayed here last Saturday night and would definitely go back next time in town! The staff were all very friendly. Our room was clean, tidy, comfortable and well decorated. We also really enjoyed the top floor hot tub and sauna! Great location, close to much that downtown has to offer.
Suite is beautiful, clean, great view on the 18th floor. Understood the hotel believes in a no partying policy, but this can be co versed better than a threatening letter left on the coffee table.
This was a great hotel. Plenty of space and they were able to find a room with a second bed for us with no extra charge. Nice hot tub looking over downtown Toronto in the gym room and the security after hours ensures a quiet nights sleep. We did receive some grief about having our friend come upstairs after 11 to pick up a bag but they were accomodating and it was simply for security measures.
Great stay, breakfast was great and service was good. They make it pretty obvious that this is not the hotel to come party at (fine with me wince I had a kid). Some people are reporting construction noise from a building being build, however, I did not hear any noise at night. Easy parking right at the hotel for a daily fee.
Hotel was nice but very uptight about noise. It was my friend's birthday and we went to the hotel to have a few drinks and cake before going out but we were kicked out for being 'too loud' with no prior warning about our noise.
Very nice hotel. Prompt service, very comfortable beds and lovely sheets. I like the suites because the bedroom is separate. We had to wait for elevators because of maintenance but that's ok. Better to have a delay than problems later
Stayed here for a night when visiting Toronto. Excellent downtown location walking distance to many restaurants and downtown locations. The concierge staff were able to check us in around 12:20pm since we reached hotel earlier than check in time. Breakfast at hotel was very basic and expensive. I recommend going to sunset restaurant a block down the road with much better and cheaper options. Overall we were happy with the suite we booked. For the price they are charging for breakfast I am expecting a better breakfast. I would definitely stay here again and get breakfast outside next time.
Located at a very good place in the downtown.. easy access to coach terminal or union station.. has a connection to PATH.. complimentary breakfast has good options.. nice compact rooftop gym/jacuzzi/sauna with good view... Not much space to maintain your robes in the room however
We have stayed here a couple of times now. Rooms are nice, restaurant has good food, staff are pleasant and efficient. The buffet breakfast is a very nice touch.
Love the 2 room suites, clean, quiet, functional! Continental breakfast included, I mean it's my favourite meal of the day. What I would improve on to give it 5 stars is focus on personalized attentive service, in short, speak to me like a friend or family approach.
My husband's workplace made a booking for two nights on our behalf while in Toronto for his firm s Christmas party. We contacted the hotel well in advance to request an early check-in and ensure they were aware that I would be sharing the room with him (specifying my name in writing) since the booking was made under his name only. We received e-mail confirmation for earlier check-in and acknowledgement that I was the second guest associated with the booking. My husband and I arrived together to check-in, but because he was in a hurry to attend a meeting and the front desk agents were taking a prolonged amount of time to check us in, he arranged to park the vehicle we drove to Toronto in with one front desk agent and left me his wallet with personal identification and his banking cards. My husband then took an uber to the meeting (at a location/address I did not know as I am not from Toronto). I did not have a means of calling/texting my husband at this point as we just returned from living overseas and had not yet registered for new mobile plans.
This was witnessed by all front desk agents. Despite this written confirmation, possessing my husband s wallet with his IDs, and the other front desk agent acknowledging that we were together and my husband had just parked the vehicle, the front desk agent I dealt with refused to check me in. She treated me extremely unfairly and had a very rude attitude, stating I wish you would have let us know in advance that you d be checking in under his name. I clarified that we did, and attempted to show her the email confirmation/correspondence on my cellphone. She refused to look at it. I was struggling with numerous bags/luggage. Unable to look up my husband s firm s phone number on my phone without data or wifi (she refused to provide me with the hotel wifi information), I asked if she could call his firm (who made the booking) to resolve the situation, which she also refused to do so. She then stated that I could provide my credit card and ID to have a hold placed for the room, which I agreed to, then swiftly retracted this offer and dismissed me. She did not offer to store my bags temporarily while I attempted to contact my husband through other means. I then had to walk around downtown Toronto, exhausted from residual jetlag, cold, and with numerous heavy bags, and seek out public wifi locations in an effort to contact my husband through Facebook messenger and/or his workplace. When the hotel was finally put in touch with my husband and I was able to return to check-in independently, there was no apology offered by a now different front desk agent (who turned out to be the manager). He simply requested my credit card to place a hold on it, ID, and assumed no accountability as he was not there when this incident occurred. I took my bags to the elevator myself.
When my husband was able to leave the meeting and return to the hotel, I was quite emotional and felt so disrespected. Only once a more senior staff member complained/spoke to the hotel manager and the hotel s business relationship with the firm was threatened did we receive an apology in the form of a breakfast buffet voucher and dinner offer, with limited options given that I am vegan. I would have been more receptive to the manager s attempt to rectify the situation had he not greeted me equally as rudely when I returned to check-in. It is my sincerest hope that the female front desk agent I had initial contact with be let go and change career paths, as her personal qualities are not well suited to the hospitality industry.
I love everything about this hotel! All suites, great location, restaurant has a great ambiance and great food, no noise policy after 11, staff are excellent!
Very nice hotel. My suite was very clean, staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again. My company will be using them for all business stays moving forward.
