I travel to Toronto semi-regularly for work, this has always been my choice for lodging in the city. The prices are fair, the hotel is nice but not overly stuffy and the location is great (nearby transit, food options, shopping, etc.)

I really enjoy the Cambridge Suites downtown Toronto. You get a very large room at a pretty reasonable price. Close to many amenities. Definitely worth a visit.
Ok but a building under construction right next door so a little noisy.
It's been the 6th or 7th times I stayed at the Cambridge Suite. as usual, the room was clean an properly furnished. Rooms are quite big and the hotel location is perfect.

Awesome place to stay downtown and reasonably priced within walking distance of all main attractions!! Rooms are spacious and very clean. Hotel staff are exceptionally pleasant and helpful. We've stayed there several times and honestly cant say anything negative. The Cambridge Suites will not disappoint!!
The customer service at this hotel was terrible, and the workers very rude. You have to show them your ID to get into your room at night, and there were many people who were not allowed into their rooms. Also the hot tub was cold. I compare this hotel to basically a prison I would not recommend it at all.
Was given a surprise hotel room from my husband as a treat for being a tired mum so he booked the hotel on a 3rd party website under he's name.
When I went to check in, it took almost 1.5hrs as I got transported back to 1980. When you book via a 3rd party site and need to make changes, the hotel does not accept emails or phone authorisations, they need it to be faxed to them. Their fax machine is so old, the hotel staff could not even read my name that was now included on the updated booking and after waiting for 1.5 hr I grabbed my bags and walked to the exit and magically I was offered a room.
Cons -
- any updates to your booking needs to be done via fax (as we all still have fax machines in our home)
- it is a "green" hotel so to not create more waste or use more water in their dish washers there are no slippers, no bottles of water, no newspapers in the morning, no plates or bowls in the "kitchenette" in the room, no cutlery even for tea or coffee in the room
- the hotel "pool" is a spa and it is tiny!
- the buffet breakfast is very limited and the quality made me question if I would get a stomach bug, definitely not worth $15
- it says check out at 11am, but the cleaner will bang on your door and make you leave at 10am so she can start cleaning earlier
Overall for the price my husband paid, I should have walked out quicker and found another hotel, definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel!
Rooms are great and serviced well. Staff is very helpful. Close to many places in the downtown area. Restaurant was closed for renovations while I was here so I cannot say how that was. In all it was a good experience. Would return again.

Had a great experience at the Cambridge Suites. We were there with a bachelorette and had a blast! Beautiful and clean rooms with a nice view. Loved the hot tub in the fitness area too! Highly recommend.

Spacious rooms, but the decor is a bit dated. There was a strong cleaner smell when we first arrived last time, but it did dissipate over time. Some milder scents and detergents should be considered for anyone who has sensitivities to those things.

The suite was clean enough, the amenities seemed ok and the staff was good, however we could clearly hear our neighbours through the paper thin walls. We were woken by them simply speaking to each other (not yelling) both mornings and could clearly hear every word od their conversation. For the amount you pay for a hotel, we expected more sound buffering/privacy than a hostel.

Rooms are spacious and clean but seriously outdated, in every respect. There is no direct access to basement parking garage through the main elevator, although a separate elevator from the ground floor to the parking garage is available. Surprisingly, one cannot check-in before 4:00PM (it used to be 1:00PM, then 2:00PM, then 3:00PM) but, of course, an "early" check-in can be guaranteed for an extra $79 charge. Both, breakfast and parking are also extras, making the upfront price deceiving - there is no other parking available in the area, so the $28 per day becomes a compulsory add-on. The security deposit on the credit card should be released immediately upon confirming the status at check-out, instead the funds are regularly being withheld, as pending transactions, sometimes for weeks. I'm not sure whether this is the bank's or hotel's fault but it's ridiculous. This is definitely NOT an odd occurrence, it's been happening to me several times, for hotel reservations ONLY around the Toronto area. Lastly, the housekeeping should be instructed to collect the items "left" in the room ONLY upon confirming the checked-out status. At 10:30AM we took the luggages down to the car and by the time we returned to the room (10:50AM), the chocolate bars and water bottles we purposely left in the room, were gone. Not cool, and I'm definitely NOT blaming the housekeeping, but the management, for staff shortage, subpar wages and work policies! In summary, while clearly understanding that it's a tough business, costs can also be controlled through better management. Simply transferring all inefficiencies to customers, in the form of higher costs, in the end, leads to bad business. I've seen the artificial cost increase model overwhelmingly applied at this particular hotel, consequently, I may never come back again!!!

We spent our 30th wedding anniversary here and we were given the royal treatment, starting with a free up grade to a bigger room. Then a complimentary bottle of bubbles. Staff are friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here.

This was thee worst establishment I have ever been in. We were refused a prepaid overnight stay due to the fact we did not have a credit card. In saying that, we offered a debit visa, a cash deposit and a third party visa. All of which were denied and we were turned away from hotel. Again please keep in mind this room was pre paid and the company's credit card was on file. I have never recived such bad service and will never return to another Cambridge Suites Hotel.

I booked to stay at this hotel on Expedia. When I checked in, I was labelled a "party girl" and the front desk staff was very rude to me saying they will be watching me and my 3 other friends staying in the room and that after 11pm the security guard will be watching us and CHECKING OUR IDS before allowing us to go up to our room. Since I already booked and paid for the room on Expedia I had no choose but to stay at this hotel. I proceeded to bring my belongings in and I asked if I could have assistance and the front desk staff said no. So I had to make 3 trips from the parking garage to my room to bring all my belongings in. A few moments later I came down to the front desk and let them know my 3 friends I had to register with them will be coming shortly and I asked what the parking rates are the the nearby outdoor parking lots, the front desk staff apparently didn't know and had no interest in helping me find out. So I had to leave the hotel and walk down the street to find out for myself since the front desk staff was not educated in knowing what services are available around them that their guests would need to know....
Now my friends and I got ready at the hotel with 3 other friends who WERE NOT STAYING WITH US AT THE HOTEL. We left around 12am and the security guard watched us leave and didn't say anything to us. We arrive back at the hotel around 3am and that when we were verbally attacked by the "Night Manager" Romeo. He told us to our faces and I quote "we were waiting for you to return all night, I was warned about you guys". I proceed to ask him what we did wrong and he wouldn't answer just told me and the 3 guests with me we have to show ID's. We proceeded to show him out ID's then tried going to our room and he stopped us saying we cannot stay at the hotel because we have too many people. THERE WERE ONLY 4 OF US THAT WERE STAYING AND THAT WERE PRESENT IN THE LOBBY TRYING TO GET BACK TO OUR ROOM. I asked him why we can't go into our room and he said we have too many people and we are, I quote, "liars" and "idiots". I again told him we paid for the room, the 4 people registered to stay are the only ones trying to go to our room so we can sleep. He then told us we need to leave the hotel immediately or, I quote, "I will call the police to escort you out". I persisted on going into the room to collect our belongs and he tried standing in front of us and the elevator to stop us from going to our room. We talked him into letting us going upstairs. Once upstairs we packed all our stuff and told our other friends we have no where to go and that we are getting kicked out of the hotel for no reason. Our other friends came to the hotel to help us organize a plan to leave. Once in the lobby Romeo again HARASSED us saying we have been "evicted" and that he already called the cops. As he is giving us a hard time 2 other guests entered the hotel and no one checked their ID's... only we had our ID's checked... after seeing this I felt extremely victimized, targeted and unsafe in the hotel. We were all young women being verbally attacked by a man who was supposed to be a manager at this hotel. I proceeded to ask for the bill and the manager tried stopping the hotel staff from communicating with me. He did not want me to get a receipt of the charged they put on my credit card. He told the hotel staff to call the police immediately to get "these girls" out of the hotel. I got my receipt and he told me I need to remove my car from the parking garage he will make sure the police come down to the garage and make sure my car is gone. Me and all my friends were in no condition to drive. He did not care, he just wanted us gone even though he still would not tell us what we did wrong to deserve to be treated so disrespectfully.
Needless to say, I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL, I WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS AWARE OF THIS TERRIBLE DISGUSTING MANAGER AND HOW HE VERBALLY ATTACKED AND TARGETED HOTEL GUESTS.
The hotel is nice, the suite is big, the gym is small, but throughout the week it was never busy, the staff is friendly, the location is awesome, the price was better than the competitors... Well, you got it. It is a nice place.
Extremely terrible, booked a room for 5 and yet we were still questioned when we walked into the hotel. Even the manager didn't know anything about the room. Terrible hotel experience, wouldn't recommend, could find something else for a better experience and location. Not worth it at all.

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my visit to this hotel. The Executive Suites were vary spacious. Everything in the room (couch, chairs, bed, sofa bed) was comfortable! The King size bed and pillows provided an extremely restful sleep. I am a light sleeper and was not bother by any outside/roadway noise. The buffet breakfast was above and beyond most buffet breakfasts I have experienced. The staff were very pleasant to deal with and accommodated all my needs. Even though we were on the 20th floor, the elevator wait times were impressively short. The location is also ideal, with a very close walk to the Eaton Centre and subway line. I highly recommend this hotel!
