Food is great, omelettes are amazing and the pico de Gallo salsa is very good the steaks are delicious as well as the burgers yes it does have it's off days but what restaurant doesn't the service is also good very welcoming

I absolutely love this place. Everything is so amazing!!!

Thought I d try this place for lunch. Food was ok, but the service was bottom tier. Waitress was too busy listening to the conversations of others, had to repeat our orders to her twice. The final insult was the staff making us wait for our change. I guess they were hoping we d forget or leave it all as a tip. The service DID NOT merit a $20 tip. They were lucky we left the minimum 15%

A better steak and eggs choice in the Whittier area. Lovely place and great service! Very clean!

Great food and service. Many good memories here over the years! Some of my favorite dishes picadillo soup, Greek salad!

Ordered delivery service yesterday , the app said my order left at 2:19pm didn't receive my food at the door until 3 pm, so 40 minutes to get two blocks food was cold and my blt sandwich literally had two strips of bacon and my bread was soggy, all lettuce and tomatoes, for 10.00$ , other food was cold too , won't be eating there anymore

Mother's Day is a mother of a day wait is too long and frustrating. However, once seated our server Vanessa was very quick and attentive. Food came out quick and was delicious.In addition just like to say Vanessa makes the best bloody marys. So my frustration was gone and I strongly recommend California Grill.

Good selection of fish. Last time I had the Rockfish. A large filet cooked just right.

Its been years since I have been to the CalGrill but i enjoyed all those afternoons sitting at their old coffee bar reading, eating, and enjoying the ambiance. I was a student at Whittier College back then and have nothing but wonderful memories of the Grill...i live out of state now but when I come back to L.A. I'll be sure to visit them once again!

Their vegan patty was great. Their onion rings even better. The server was great. He was accommodating after we asked the bill split 3 ways.

Prices are a little high for what they serve. Nice, clean place. Power went out and staff was unprepared, didn't know what to do, stopped serving and stood around talking amongst themselves. Will give it another try later.

so upset right now on my way home walking my son home from school we stopped into california grill to ask for a cup of water to go for myself and my 8 yr old son they proceeded to hand me a cup that was to be used only in the restaurant and not to go i then asked for it to go and the rude waitress went on to tell me she was going to charge me for the cups because i wanted it to go.my son was as red as a tomato and today it being the hottest day in the 100's they couldnt at least give my son a cup of water i refused very upset we left and went to the next nearest restaurant which was brickhouse and they offered me the 2 cups i wanted to go! my son was finally a happy camper I come home and call to complain to the manager his name is Nick he was not helpful at all he says that they cannot be giving out cups of water to go because if they did that it would end up costing them too much money and also gave an excuse about there being so many bus stops around them and local school and the college and traffic that they are the ones that ruined it and that the restaurant has been written up before for people littering with their cups outside the restaurant.... what a disgrace especially for a child.

Service was good. Food was average. Was just ok. Doubt go back anytime soon.

I love this place the employees are super nice when you enter you can feel the good vibe then and there their food/dishes are really amazing.

Usually 4 stars, but I think they changed cooks and servers when they finished the remodeling.
The food we ordered didn't taste the same. I could be off, but even the people in the next next table noticed a change. Hope they get back to normal again.

Best bloody Mary bar none clean fresh a wholesome food with a little twist atmosphere is fresh but outdated and a lot of 60+

Love this place! Lots of varieties of food. Best food is their French fries. You just gotta try them and you'll see what I mean. Great staff. Great parking.

Decent coffee, nice atmosphere, but the best part was my favorite breakfast, the Tropical Sunrise. Fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, and a drizzle of honey for a completely filling and fantastic treat in the morning that keeps you fueled for hours. Love it.

Been here around five different times now...I have never been disappointed. Everything is always so tasty! The service is also very good..nice friendly people! I am definitely coming back.

Delicious burgers, and the onion rings and sweet potato fries are fresh, not frozen!

Good food but the entrees should come with at least one side dish

I love Calif Grill. We, my husband and I, eat here often. The food is ALWAYS DELICIOUS.The atmosphere is always welcoming, everybody is friendly. Thank you Calif. Grill for being the BESTEST!!!

On site, take out, and catering, CA Grill has been the place that brought us peace and good food for birthdays, special family events, and many too tired to cook nights for many, many years.

Food is always fresh. Staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable

Their lunch was good but the breakfast I was disappointed because the toast was burnt and the pancakes were very dry

Good, casual American comfort food with a nice variety of selections. Service is very good, and restaurant is comfortable, directly across the street from Whittier College.

They remodeled the place so that's nice. The food however was pretty rough. I had some soup that was extremely salty, I couldn't eat much of it.

Nice and relax environment. Could enjoy lunch outside on patio with the view at the corner off Philadelphia and Painter. Good for college students since it across the street from Whittier College..

First time at California Grill located across the street from Whittier college. Here on a Sunday and the wait was about 30 mins. Not bad for it being a Sunday afternoon. Great place, good service. Waiter and manager very attentive. Huge portions. Very tasty. Used a coupon for free appetizer up to $10. Had the Spinach dip to start with the choice of chips or bread. Go with the bread! Spinach dip was good. For the main course I had the Chef s special. Blackened chicken in a cream sauce over bow tie pasta. Also very tasty served with garlic bread.

Great local (to me) restaurant. Reliably good food.

Had reservations for a large group. Waitress was rude and not happy.

Food items are great. Service is fast. But the bathrooms, omg! Needs a remodel to accommodate more than one person!

Fish and chips were good but the sides of mashed potatoes and the rice were cold. Stuffed chicken was also good. Cole slaw eeh. But all in all I hope the next time the food is hotter.

Had a great time hanging out with some friends there. Reminds me like a norms but more upscale.the waiter and staff are very friendly. The food portions were decent although I think it is a rather tad expensive. All in all it's still go again if you're ever in the Whittier area. At the Mediterranean pasta and that was enough for me and my wife.Don't ever split anything though because it actually charged as an extra three bucks.

Had a nice lunch with my daughters.. service was good... Waitresses were very helpful and polite...

Most food is good, but could have a larger selection

The last time I went there with my Mom was a HORRIBLE experience. Usually they're great, but they lost our order and I know it happens sometimes and the waitress was more than apologetic- So, I'm not going to judge it based off of that one negative experience. Great salads and their fish tacos are so good! Never been a ridiculous wait when I've gone, but it can get a little crowded. Always a go- to place with visiting family, birthdays, and after formal events.

We were seated and served quickly. Gave us time to enjoy the food and each other's company.

Setting is comfortable and slightly romantic. Bit overpriced and food has gotten dull over the years. No hard liquor only beer and vino. Much better options to spend an evening in Uptown.

There's a bit of a wait at peak times. Food is always good and great service. Breakfast was delish and can't wait to try something different on my next visit.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting; the food and service is better than expected.
