Came at 1p for lunch on a Friday. Got the half sandwich, cup of soup, and salad combo. BLT was good with crispy bacon, chicken tortilla soup was delicious (it was mild which I like, I asked for extra torilla strips), salad with ranch was good as well, with mixed greens, baby tomatos, and mushrooms. It was noisy from the rush hour crowd, waitress was attendant and nice. Would get it again. Breakfast served until 2p on weekdays.

today, I went there with my sister and my niece, we sat around 1:08 , they took our order around 1:20, we got our drinks fast, but it took at least 45 to 50 mins for our food to be served , the food is great and are well worth the price, but that is just to long to wait, i'm guessing since there was a baby shower in the patio area , maybe that's why it took so long , i'll go there again, but I don't think my sis and niece would go back !!
Short version: don t order the kids pancake meal. It s terrible and they don t know how to cook scrambled eggs. Hopefully service hasn t changed over the years.
Long version: I ve been coming here forever, I grew up in Whittier. I moved over an hour away and I wanted to enjoy lunch with my dad at a familiar place. I was actually having a great morning. I was happy to be seated outside with my pup, everything was going well. When we were served, I ordered a kids pancake meal. Everything comes with a juice or milk and I think a cookie. I had to ask for the milk, I was never offered, then when my daughter got her food the pancakes were paper thin, about a small circle size of a coffee cup and the eggs were scrambled but looked more like a burnt omelette cut in pieces, my daughter loves eggs and didn t want to eat them that day. They probably tasted the way they looked. I ordered the newporter. I use to love that sandwich and I love how they make the bread it kinda makes the sandwhich in my opinion. The first time they brought it out they were missing the avocado. Second time out the bread was cooked completely different, I was over it at that point. When I asked the server how come it was different, she said they do what they want in the kitchen. Um, ok.. I used to manage a restaurant and you shouldn t ever change what is listed unless mentioned by the server while ordering. Could be bad management because these things should get caught by food runners or waitresses before brought to the table. I wanted to enjoy my meal with my dad. Maybe it bothers me so much because I ve been in the business for so long and hold a high standard of places I eat. I feel kinda bad leaving a bad review but our server never really smiled and didn t check up on us, I probably tipped her more than she earned tbh. I had to walk inside eventually to get anyone s attention even though we were the only open table outside. I used to serve and manage so I m not being a complainer. I ve never complained about this place once actually. Overall it s clean and the food is usually great. I wish I would have taken a picture of my daughters food and if the bread being so different from the first time out, super disappointing I would imagine staff should be some of your best workers on a Friday. The man who sat us down was smiling, friendly, attentive and the host was nice as well. Well, I m sure I ll go back one day but not in a rush to return after my experience.
I will say that this place is clean and cheerful but the food is not better than say IHOP or a truck stop diner and they are very overpriced for the small portions you get. Eggs were cold and over cooked and waffles were super hard. A++ for service C- for taste of food and C/D for prices.
Everything here tastes great and the manager is amazing. One time an old couple had sneered aggressive insulting angry remarks at my teething child. After I confronted them everyone around me asked the manager to kick the old people out and they actually did... seriously though, greatest tuna sandwich in the United States!
Food is great! A bit overpriced in my opinion. Service during the week is awesome, but if u hate waiting for your food, or the waiter to come and refill your water... The weekend is NOT for you. Be prepared to be disappointed. Other than that, i eat here on the regular.
Disappointed to discover that their seemingly vegetarian soup(Carrot Ginger) is made with chicken broth. Glad I asked, cuz it doesn't specify on the menu. The veggie garden sandwich was delicious.
Had the eggs Benedict w/hash browns & was less than impressed. The eggs had a metal taste to them, the hollandaise sause had no taste & the hash browns were under cooked. It waiter, however was attentive, keeping this from being a one star review
Great service waiter, but turkey burger terrible, mushey DOESN'T taste like any turkey burger I've ever had. Service A, food F for turkey burger, but other burgers good.
This has always been the best restaurant to go to. Their sevice is excellent and food is great. My husband and I have been going there for years and have never been disappointed. Keep up the good work and thank you. Evelyn Talavera
3/18/2021 outside dining still The food lacked in flavor. The menu is as posted. They do offer a happy hour but no menu to support of what that entails. It would be best to have a Happy Hour Menu of what can be ordered during the 2pm-close time.
We haven't been there in a while (we don't live in Whittier). The meal we had was great. It was a simple meal of sandwiches but very satisfying. Didn't care for the drink (a smoothie) too much ice, not enough flavor. Onion rings and fried zucchini, just right!
CG is my go to when I want some good pasta or appetizers!! My favorite is the spinach & artichoke dip with half chips & toasted bread is amazing!! I love the Chef s favorite pasta with chicken it so delicious!
Loved the food and I liked the service as well. It looks really nice and clean staff is very pleasant. They did get my order wrong but correct their mistake before I could even receive my food. Service was fast I was getting food to go. I only had a wait time of 10 minutes. I was in town to take a class and I looked at there reviews and I saw good reviews so decided to go and try it glad I did.
Nice place, good wait staff. Varied menu. My shrimp scampi was great. Calamari a bit over cooked. We did eat it all. Friend liked his chop and twice baked potato, had fried zuchinni as a side. Overcooked too. I would definitely go back. Only suggestion is to not overcook the fried foods.
I always eat good here. Delicious food. Today our waitress Maritza was really nice and on top of everything. I will keep coming here with delicious food and good customer service.
I'm a little partial because my daughter works here but the food is worth my drive in. The stuffed chicken and the country club or two meals you should try.
My hubby and I have always made this our Wednesday lunch date spot. We're glad your open for to go orders. The drive thru pick up is so convenient. Now we changed our day to Friday night dinner.
I ordered our dinner for New Year's Eve at noon and requested to pick up my order at 7:30 pm. I had to wait over an hour to pick up my order and once I got home I realized my order was incomplete! Very disappointing!
