Amazing experience and delicious spirits! Free samplings of their vodka, gin, and oaked(?) gin and all were unique and very flavorful. All of them were so smooth and you could easily drink them straight. I normally don't like gin or vodka but these spirits were like nothing else I've tried. W got a tour instantly even though it was close to closing and only a group of four. The man who gave it was fun, infomational, and just down to earth and great to be around. We went to a brewery before this (Hilstead farm brewery) and honestly Caledonia Spirits was better in every way. Cheaper, more fun, better tasting, and more unique. Definitly come here if you get a chance.

Brand spanking new by a few months, the equipment isn't even fired up yet as it is being installed and relocated from the original Hardwick, VT location but the bar, tasting area and gift shop is hopping. Expert craft cocktail bartenders serve up complex cocktails from the classic days of the 1920s, some 60s styled Tiki Bar drinks as well as modern and homegrown cocktails with flair and all of the accessories - foam, flower, special glasses etc that let you know these 9-11 dollar drinks are a cut above. Limited food is available from a revolving list of food truck vendors. You can peek in at the distiller and see the huge copper and stainless steel equipment used to distill the liquors which include gin, an aged gin called Tom Cat, vodka and even some experimental spirits to be released using local burdock root. We happened upon one of the distillers and he gave us an overview of the operation. It was NOISY in the main bar. Hard to hear each other talk but we found a spot outside.
This is an absolute must visit for any lovers of spirits. Bar Hill Tom Cat is already well regarded nationally, and their new space is a testament to the high aesthetics of Ryan and his team. With Sam as head bartender, the cocktails are adventurous and at the same time classic twists with the Bar Hill spirits and local ingredients on stage. Great tour, wonderful visit.
Did the gin tasting. Even though we aren't gin drinkers, their product is very good.
Great gin and vodka! Their gin is my favorite and their experimental maple vodka was super tasty
These guys are the best. Stopped there before it closed, still gave us a tour, some tasters and invited us to stay and have beers & pizza with the staff on a really big picnic table outside. Such a good memory.
We loved the experience here. Tasting a couple liquors when we first walked in the door (and a raw honey tasting for my little one) sat down with dollar oysters and a tasty gin and tonic. Can t wait to come back.
I came here with 2 of my friends who are gin lovers. I did not know that about them. They had a wonderful time during our 2 hours here. I am not quite sure I get what is going on here; I think I have some catching up to do.
Fantastic and unique vodka made from honey and fantastic gin. The barrel aged gin is a must for anyone who enjoys gin and whiskey.
Taste among the best gin available in USA.. A must for gin lovers
this is a go-to place for happy hour, the cocktails are a work of art! it can get busy, so be aware parking may be difficult sometimes but it's always worth it. I love that the staff have a liveable wage, so all tips go to a different nonprofit every month. Also, it's fun to see the rotating food - it's always been a hit. I'm not even a gin fan but their gin is for everyone!
I've enjoyed many different kinds of gin in my time. These by far have rapidly grown to my top. I'm so glad I purchased these at the Stowe farmers market Sunday, you've got a customer for life. Semper Fi
Gin heaven! Well off the beaten path but can't go wrong if passing thru - pro tip entrance is not well marked - it's the turn right before the Ford lot coming from Town as GPS/cell service can get confused in the immediate area.
Been drinking Barr Hill for quite some time... absolutely amazing gin!!!
Absolutely love the new space in Montpelier!! Grateful to have them close by with plenty to offer. The decor with honey shaped tables plays into the theme with the honey infused Gin perfectly! I also appreciate the well thought out details with the unique lighting above the bar, light projected menu, slushy gin drink options and of course their dynamic assortment of drinks. It is right off the highway so a perfect meet up spot or for guest traveling up to VT! Also much appreciated the option of smoked BBQ pulled pork sold outside from a very friendly vendor! Barr Hill you did not disappoint
This was our second time here and if you re in the area you should definitely try it. We get the bees knees and we love the bear glass that it is served in. Still not sure how I feel about the mixed nuts included with the drinks.... I think they re good.... if you like spicy things you might enjoy them.
Feel bad with all the great reviews, guess i am not right person for this place. Gin and vodka are excellent and drinks are creative...nice job. Now for what "we" the three of us, and wont be back, found dissapointing. The drinks appear 80% ice for almost $10 each. Had ask manager to change the music after 4-5 ACDC songs in row...not a fan of Hells Bells and gonna take to to hell lyrics while trying to hear my friends talk. She said normally she would never do that...so thanks. 2nd drinks we ask for them to be doubles...please fill them up. This required manager approval and a 5min lecture from one of the self righteous bar tenders. But we got them...then out for a pizza in the parking lot. 2 pizzas $30 because as we were educated again by the staff...its a farm raised. I have been to 49 states and many many places. To me...pretentious, over priced, loud and unfriendly...but seems the locals and guides love it.
Small Vermont distillery that produces one of the best gins I have had the chance to taste. In addition, they do it by hand and by encouraging sustainable farming.
Fabulous new space for Caledonia Spirits! I love the bar layout and tasting area. Super cool to be able to view the distillation area through huge viewing windows too! And of course, the cocktails are absolutely top notch. Shout out to Sam Nelis for making me a delicious "Nature's Playground" and to Nadia Womble who came up with it!
Always a pleasant experience. Already willing to show folks around or explain their processes. And fabulous Gin.
It's new facility is under construction, but it's going to be fantastic when completed!
Amazing spirits, cool place, be sure and stop by here if you're even remotely close to the area
This is the BEES KNEEEEES! This is a business that has won awards, yet I felt like they were friends of mine by the time I left. That takes talent, and the cocktails were AMAZING! Very knowledgeable and delicious! Excellent experience!
We came here for a drink last night, and I was very impressed with the level of professionalism shown by the staff. I ordered a Negroni and it was perfect, their spirits are truly unique and lend a nice complexity of flavor to classic cocktails. I highly recommend the milk punch, something you don t see very often. Come by, chill, have a drink, and put your pinkie up. 10/10
Great people that are easy to talk to. They really have a passion for their products. They have an excellent selection of fine spirits. I can't wait until they open for real.
