They do great work taking care of and finding forever homes for their animals.
Outstanding people who are devoted to helping the community, one furry baby at a time.
CHA is a wonderful rescue organization. I have adopted two dogs over the years from CHA...the first one lived 14 wonderful years and the second I adopted in the last month. The facility is very clean, excellent and caring in the treatment of their animals, and I recommend it highly. Bishop, the little guy I adopted about three weeks ago is thriving, happy, and very loving. CHA is a model for rescue organizations.
The staff take the time to know their animals and find their individual needs. A loving and caring place.
Great little animal shelter. The staff is friendly and helpful. Facility is clean and well kept. There are get-acquainted rooms. They were a little light on cats during our visit but we found one we liked. They animals appear well cared for. They spay/neuter, microchip, and give the shots to the cats.
I adopted Larken (the brown and white dog) from CHA back in July.
Larken has not only been a sweetheart but my dog Harlee has become inseparable. CHA was very good with communication and scheduling, while also being responsible and safe during the uncertainty of COVID.
10/10 would recommend.
I recommend this shelter to anyone looking to adopt a cat or dog!
I went here this past fall to get a kitten, and then again this past week.
Most of the volunteers are lovely and pretty friendly, they treat their animals well.
I appreciate that they spay/neuter all of their cats, as well as having their shots updated ahead of time.
Application process is simple but also detailed. I appreciate that they want to ensure a good home for their animals.
They treat their dogs so great here! I got the love of my life from them!
A resourceful nonprofit rescue that brings in dogs from rural shelters and continuously takes in cats when nearly all other central OH shelters are at capacity, CHA's dedicated staff and volunteers provide excellent care while animals are in their care. I've volunteered and fundraised for this organization for several years now for a good reason: I believe in CHA's mission. If you are looking to rescue a dog or cat, please be sure to check out CHA Animal Shelter.
After being found under a hot car and malnourished, my baby has been in his forever home since October. He is the sweetest and funniest little guy I ve come across. Love him to death
C.H.A is not just a regular animal shelter... it is full of love and support cha is not just a place u can see every day the love and devotion is what keeps C.H.A alive!visit C.H.A ASAP!
Well I have never been but it would make happier if I could find a white cat and name it dumbledore and a name a regular pug admiral bubbles
Staff was very friendly. You could tell as soon as you entered the room the animals were well taken care of. We are very satisfied and will return for our next pet.
Love this shelter! I was there earlier today to adopt my kitty Olivia, it was super quick and everybody was so friendly. Definitely recommend it to everyone looking to adopt.
Great shelter. My girlfriend and I adopted our first cat from here, and couldn't be happier with the experience. Staff were very nice and accommodating. You can tell everyone who works here really loves their animals.
Home to Miller. Home to Bingo. No kill shelter with dogs and cats that need a home. Looking for a puppy, they have some too, But those 1 year old babies that need love are waiting for you! Great facility, great love for animals, great care and a great price to pick up a new family member.
I volunteer and adopted a puppy from CHA. The process was smooth and easy. CHA does everything for the animal - my puppy was up to date on all vaccines and shots. He was neutered and microchipped. It is a great place to adopt and volunteer!
Adopted a dog here, very thankful. They are excellent.
They helped me find a home for the stray cat in our area. The staff are very friendly and super helpful
I've adopted 4 kittens from this shelter over the past 14 years. I have had nothing but good experiences. Two of the kittens I adopted from a litter I was fostering for the shelter. I have also volunteered here as a dog walker for 3 years. They provide helpful support to both their adopters and their volunteers, and always have the animals' best interests at heart.
Staff is super friendly and very good with the animals
You guys think this is a (no kill shelter) well I m sorry to say but it is they are lying I don t care who the staff is you want proff I got it!!
Adopted my cat Maestro, who was in the shelter for about 9 months. I volunteered here also one time years ago.
Staff care for customers and the animals they take in. Thanks for taking good care of my cat before I met her.
Feline Friday was also nice, only $5 to adopt a cat. Be sure to look up the hours before heading to the shelter.
Got the best dog I have ever owned from this place 5 years ago. Can not say enough about CHA, wonderful place!
My mother and I adopted our adorable cat, Dori, from this shelter. The adoption process was simple and the staff were all helpful the whole way through. This shelter is clean and they help so many animals find their forever homes! Please consider this shelter if you are looking for a new furry best friend!
Excellent place to find a kitten or cat staff is professional and kind
They helped me out of a hard situation. Please help this worthy cause with donations of resources, both Dogs and Cats are shelted here, no kill, shelter
These two are available for adoption, Shady & CeCe
We have adopted from here and donate regularly. They are wonderful people that do wonderful work
Went in and adopted a cat! Very helpful and kind staff. Cheap adoption fees.
Excellent no kill shelter, wonderful, caring staff. Clean environment. Would definitely go there again!
Everyone was so nice - the volunteers and tech's! So glad I found a new pup to save
All my dogs have been adopted there. They are so caring and kind to the animals. I tell everyone that needs a pet to visit there. They take great care of the animals to help them learn to be good in their new homes. I actually got a hand written thankyou note for my last donation. Excellent organization. Support them if you can!
Fabulous staff and volunteers that love their pets!
Got our fur son Zeus here. We have had him for 6 years now. Great organization that truly cares about the animals they have for adoption.
Just adopted two kittens on Friday with the $5 adoption special
I just adopted my cat, Frida, from CHA Animal Shelter this past Saturday and they were wonderful! They take great care of their animals and keep diligent records of their medical history and notes from previous owners. They let me come in with only 5 min left on $5 Feline Friday to see if there were any cats with whom I might match well, and they immediately pointed me to my new love and family member, Frida. I didn't want to wait another week for the next $5 Feline Friday and risk someone else adopting her, so the next day I returned. They let me spend more time with her and answered all of my questions about her personality, temperament, health, history, and preferences. The application process was surprisingly easy and pleasant. I was unable to find a carrier that morning, so they lent me one of their plastic ones saying that I can return it whenever I'm done with it (they had just run out of the box carriers and Frida would have been too large for those anyway). Their kindness and knowledge made the adoption process a wonderful experience that I'll look back on fondly forever. Although their hours are limited, it worked well for my schedule so I have no complaints about that. I can't comment on their dogs because I didn't go into that area, but the kennel set up for the cats was surprisingly spacious considering the number of cats they had. They also had at least 2 private rooms you could use to play with the cats. When not being used privately, those rooms are just left open and then the compatible cats are allowed to run around and play for a while and then another group of compatible cats were allowed to leave their cages and get exercise/play. They really take the time to get to know the animals to take the best care of them and provide the best recommendations to the people looking to adopt. The staff also told me that they are involved in the local community and offer events such as kids reading with the kittens to help socialize the kittens and increase the chances of them finding their forever home. All around, I was thoroughly impressed! If I weren't a 1 cat/pet person, I'd certainly go back there to adopt another fur baby!!
I went to meet River fell in love immediately. I adopted him the staff was great very friendly and helpful. I was worried about the trip home he didnt cry once. He is now cuddling with me on my bed and giving me lots of love!!! It was a purfect choice and we share the same birthday!!! It was meant to be!!
This is a wonderful shelter. Very clean, great staff & volunteers. The animals are end2 well loved. And they are a no kill shelter! Highly recommend them to anyone looking to adopt or needing to surrender an animal.
The work they do is just incredible. Always adopt from this group.
My wife volunteered here for years when she was a teenager so when we had to make the heartbreaking choice to surrender our dog there was no other choice. They made one of the hardest decisions of my life a little easier. I will be forever grateful to CHA for granting our family some piece of mind.
I adopted my cat. She is beautiful and I fell in love with her day one. 11 years old(she is like my black panther) The one star is only because of their hours of operation. I feel like if they open their hours up more they would adopt out their animals more (which is the goal) also they should have medical staff available for questions. I got I think or ask this person (from volunteers). When I asked that person she was so swamped with people her answers were rushed (she was the only one back there) other than that the staff was polite (one of the volunteers was absolutely helpful).
We adopted two kittens this week. They are adorable and are adjusting very nicely to their furever home. CHA was very clean and the employees were very friendly and informative. I would highly recommend this animal shelter!
Amazing place we loved their process and he found his forever kitty
Thank you for all you do! Kelsey and Carrie were very helpful and informative. Found my sweet doggy here!
Staff was great to talk to and cared about the animals. Cages were big and clean and all the animals were being well cared for.
Staff was wonderful & they were able to work with me to bring my new dog home! Can't thank them enough.
THIS PLACE, THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB DIGITY AND THEY TAKE THE HIGHEST CARE OF THE ANIMALS THAT COME IN MAKING SURE EVERY ANIMAL IS GETTING WHAT THE NEED WHETHER ITS LOVE, PROTECTION, HEALTH, OR ANYTHING. HIGHLY RECOMEND WHETHER ITS TO ADOPT OR JUST PLAY WITH ANIMALS.
Reviewing to support CHA
After reading many of the previous reviews, i can see that they really do have a caring staff. They take care of the animals well, and make minimal human error.
Its really sad when people leave negitive reviews for no reason, and without knowing what is actually going on.
I will continue to support CHA, and as will friends of mine. There is no reason why this shelter should not be supported.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I adopted my cat bagheera from here for $5.00. I love her entire life. She is a 12 year old black cat with a missing tooth. If she is not on my bed sleeping and poking holes in my blanket, she is down stairs harassing people for rubs and jumping in the shower when people are not aware. I got her because I heard people don t adopt old cats nor black cats and she is both. You re truly saving a life when you adopt the unwanted. She is apart of my family until she chokes up her last hair ball. I love kissing her small little warm nose. Find it in your heart to adopt a senior cat. Make their last years on this earth the best experience. I m getting my first mortgage at 29(Late Bloomer) in 2020. When that happens My next adoption will be a Pittbull from a rescue. I think more shelters should have $5.00 feline days. Cha if you re smart you won t get rid of that.
Get a donation of blankets and towels for the kittens and the dogs
Kindest staff who we're more than patient with my kids and I as we looked for our potential new family member. Loved the information posted on the kennels about the animals it helped us know more about who we we're looking at!
Great people, amazing passion for the animals, and they helped us find this loving little puppy. Love these guys!
I have volunteered from here and adopted 3 times (all cats ). I love this shelter, the way they operate and work with the community , the fact it is a no-kill, and the amazing pets I've adopted there. Thank you CHA! I recommend you to everyone.
Great staff, you can tell they really care and the animals are cared for in a way that the adoption transition was super smooth wih us, she was still used to people.
I dropped off a donation today and was welcomed by a very friendly staff. Their events are also well run, a great rescue organization run by wonderful people.
A great place to find your next fur baby. The staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful and have the animals best interest at heart.
We got our adorable fur baby Sadie there! They were so helpful and kind!!! Sadie is so sweet and shes my new best friend! Highly recommended!!!
They care and it shows i sure hope Brutus gets a nice home my friend and I had to surrender a neighbor's dog and he is such a good dog I hope someone falls in love with him he's good with kids he just needs a lot of love and loves to play
Caring staff if looking for a pet go here and adopt a shelter animal
This is a great animal shelter. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful, the facility is always clean, and you can tell the animals are well cared for.
Very clean nice people not a whole lot of animals. Like in kittens and puppies.
We adopted our sweet cat from CHA several years ago. We stopped by recently for one of their fundraisers. The staff/volunteers are great! We recommend CHA whole heartedly!
READ PAPERWORK CAREFULLY!!! pet has underlying conditions they did not disclose in person,my mother fostered looking to adopt, was told by staff dog being treated for cold, when in fact dog has tumors, needed eye surgery and had been on narcotics for over a year, and online description is false!CANT TRUST!! sad for dog that has to suffer, and they did not deny when returned
A WONDERFUL No Kill shelter that genuinely cares about the animals!
Great place to get a new pet. Rescue pets are great.
This is a very clean and well run facility. Meet your next family pet here!
Amazing organization. The shelter is clean and the staff is always friendly.
I is a well maintained facility and the animals are fabulous
Workers are very careing and were very helpful with surrendering a much loved animal, after owner passed away. CHA a very clean facility as well. Special thanks to Ms. Kelsey.
Wonderful employees/volunteers who you can tell really care about the animals and making sure they end up with great people/families. Highly recommend if looking for a new family member!
Gracie is the 5th dog that we have rescued, and our experience with CHA was one of the best! Kelsey S. was amazing to correspond with! She was always timely in answering our questions and offering assistance to us. The application process was thorough, yet efficient. Gigi's got Gracie all fixed up and ready for adoption...which really saved us money and ensured she was healthy! We are forever grateful for all Gigi's has done for her! We highly recommend CHA to anyone looking to adopt a rescued pet!
This shelter is wonderful. Absolutely wonderful and I prefer this shelter over all others. I adopted my first dog from this shelter during one of their adoption events. First thing you will do is fill out an adoption application, then you will be permitted to meet the dog of your choosing, and finally speak with one of the adoption counselers about what to expect and to make sure this is a good fit for both you and the animal. The facility is clean and the staff are incredible. Even after I took my pup home, the staff members were more than willing to go the extra distance to help me figure out how my dog ended up there. Because of this I was able to find the shelter that he was transferred from as well as the full story as to why his previous owner gave him up. I recommend this shelter to any and everyone who is looking for a pet.
Very helpful and caring staff here at this shelter. I found an older cat lying under a vehicle in my apartment complex and it was in some rough shape. As I'm currently at capacity for furry companions, I looked online for some nearby shelters that may be able to help. Even though I live over in Hilliard, I wouldn't mind traveling over to the east side to visit this shelter each time. Everyone was incredibly friendly and they let me know exactly how they were going to move forward with my temporary friend. I was very comfortable surrendering the cat to this professional and well-kept shelter. Also, if you are looking for a feline friend, they are almost always coming through I hear and they do have $5 Feline Fridays so you can help them clear out.
