Stayed here on a weeknight. We discovered that there was no water available to our room (we were told this was due to a "council fault"). We were not told this at check in. As our water bottles were empty, and we had no other drinking water, we asked if bottled water was available, and we were told that there was and someone would deliver it to our room. After an hour with no water being delivered we went to reception to ask again - they then advised us that they had no bottled water (contradicting earlier advise). We then called reception again later that night and were told that if we bought cash they could open up the shop for us to buy our own bottled water (contradicting again what we had been told). We were then told that there was water on elsewhere in the facility (not sure why if there was a council fault?) and we ended up taking our own water bottle for a refill from a tap near reception.
Meanwhile, our room was located between multiple school groups and we were kept awake until about 11 pm by teenagers running around the complex. Could not leave window open as air conditioners from other rooms were too loud.
All in all, we had a terrible night with no drinking water and were very glad to check in the next day to a nearby hotel that had running water and was quiet (and had staff that were willing to help).
Pools were nice.

Have stayed her a few times now, the new bar and entertaining area looks good, staff are always friendly and accommodating, the rooms are also at a reasonable price. Overall an enjoyable experience with family in mind, keep up the great work guys.

ANice location in Cairns offering a true resort experience. Breakfast spread was excellent. Maintenance needed upgrade - my room front door key card did not work and I had to trudge back all the way to reception and wait 15 minutes for attention. The room AC remote did not work but maintenance attended to it promptly. Room had a moth which I released outside. Beyond midnight, neighbors became noisy and I had to complain to reception. Though hotel sent someone, they again became noisy since 3am. I was too tired to complain. Bar had limited wine choice.

For a place that is highly rated I expected so much more, worn mattresses, outdated furniture, dirty stained walls and curtains, the bathroom is so old and is falling apart. I stayed here for a week and in the room there were no dishes, cutlery, toaster, salt pepper, nothing to cook with. We have a friend who stayed here with us and had no hot water in the bathroom. I don t think this place deserves to be called a resort it s more of a motel. If they updated everything and did a massive overhaul of everything this place could actually be a 4-5 star resort.

Paying 115 dollars for an overnight stay without breakfast is excessive, the rooms too spartan, the exhaust fan totally dusty. We had to change rooms because the rainwater was coming in under the door.
The breakfast buffet and the clear pool were positive

Room is a good size very clean. Bed was very comfortable. We slept good. You could swing a cat in the bathroom which has hair dryer, shampoo body wash and soaps. The resort offers 3 pools. A cafe. Lovely trpoical setting

A beautiful venue that is warm and inviting, a little dissapointed though that the room was so small and that there were several ants seen throughout my room. Service has been good though and the restaurant serves some pretty nice food.

Nice place. Rooms surrounded by natural beauty. Option of three pools to relax. Nice quiet restaurant with decent food options. A bit away from the city center but regular bus service is available.

2nd stay here in 2 weeks and cannot rate high enough.
Although a little out of town, the service from all the staff is exceptional.
The rooms are clean and recently renovated. The gardens / grounds / pools are amazing.
The so called 4/5 star hotels on the city could learn alot from this place.
As a regular traveller to Cairns for work this will now be my prefered hotel!
Thank you Cairns Colonial Club.

It is not a Real 4 stars. It is good for Chinese guests . Most of the personnel does not speak English. The location is far from the city. Internet is free but it doesn't work when the resort is full (so it is quite useless). I have not eaten at the restaurant but it seems very sad

Was disappointed at the two extra beds in the studio room. They were terrible to sleep on. Hard, uncomfortable and dam awful to be frank.
When you are paying that price a "real bed" should be supplied, not a roll away bed.
Only one washing machine was working.
Disappointed

We stayed 6 nights in a Superior room (two queen size beds, quite modern, clean, etc) with a balcony room overlooking the pool and pleasant landscaping. It was 5 star value for money because we paid $80/night and that included a free hot breakast for each day! (The deal was a "Flash Sale' advertised on their website). We've ranked it 4 stars rather than 5 just because we personally don't like large resorts (about 500 rooms), a breakfast buffet that was only OK, a hopeless online chat on their website, staff that had difficulty understanding questions that were not routine ones (but they were nice). In summary: make sure you get a good room (not an old one) and the value for money will depend on what you have to pay.

A very big property. Room was very good. Break fast was sumptuous. But AC in room was not Upto the standard. Entrance lobby is huge. Away from main area.

We lost one jacket in hotel s outer restaurant near swimming pool but staff couldn t trace it.

The best way to describe this place is a 2 star motel with a 5 star pool. The rooms are not in great shape. The bathroom smelled like sewer, the sliding door was broken, the trim rusted, the room was generally older and very basic. It is definitely a basic motel accommodation. The pictures are deceiving. However, the pool and the grounds are great and well kept up! However, there is no hot tub/spa, which was slightly disappointing.

Nice well appointed resort friendly helpful staff buffet breakfast was plentiful although I was 1st there at 6am didn't get to try any of the 3 pools but looked inviting particularly in the beautiful steamy weather

Nice place to stay, if you want to stay close to the attractions near the Cairns. Cairns Esplanade, Jetty (to great barrier reef, island hopping etc), Skyrail, freshwater Station and number of other attraction are within short drive from this location.

Resort have 463 room, 3 swimming pools, kids play area and two restaurants within.

Though the rooms are not very big and luxurious, it will easily fit 2 adults and 2 kids and keep them happy (especially if you are on a budget and regularly travel in and out).

Friendly staff throughout the resort and they are happy to server your needs, including arranging your day trips, providing recommendations and arranging your Taxi.

Playing from Tasmania, Cairns is very warm, the hotel environment is very good, as if in the rainforest, there is a botanical garden nearby, and the walk is very fast, suitable for hiking. Hotel breakfast is very rich in fruit, other white rice porridge, bread, cereal, fried rice, bacon, cheese, scrambled eggs and the like, there are all, very standard Australian hotel buffet breakfast, hotel room is more spacious, the bed is quite big Moderately soft and hard, room service is timely, the pool is good, and the overall price is affordable. It seems that I have signed a contract with a Chinese tour group. Some employees who speak Chinese speak very kindly. The hotel restaurant is open for dinner.

One of the best resort i ve been to. My stay for 3 nights was a memorable one. When i checked in they had a problem with the room allocation bcz of expedia messing up things. But the manager sorted it out and upgraded it to a family room for 2 of us. Room was clean. Bedsheet mattress pillow were nice and clean. Airconditioner worked really well.

Room were so cheap and it was worth the money. Highly recommended.

A lovely hotel with beautiful grounds and great staff. A $13 Uber ride away from the main centre of Cairns, I recommend it to stay away from the bustle while still being close for access. We loved the pool and it looks like they are renovating the rooms which is great - try to get one of those. There is also a lovely cafe across the street called ARC Cafe Connect that is a training facility for disabled people. Prices were so good for all the homemade food you get! I not only recommend the hotel, but the lovely cafe facility as well if you aren t feeling up to a whole hotel buffet breakfast.

Lots of pros and a couple of cons. Overall we had a great stay and will be back! Loved the 2 pools with water features, slide and cave/spa. Great kids facilities inc playground and kids area at the cafe. Happy hour meant $12 cocktails (20% off drinks) which were good quality and didn't scrimp on the alcohol. Staff were lovely and helpful. Very large resort and a bit dated externally but a relaxing holiday vibe. Renovated rooms with good clean bathrooms. Only cons were rooms were not very sound proof, pillows uncomfortable and breakfast average (but give the price still pretty good value).
