Very large open complex, good for all reason, I.e. groups, families, couples, singles etc. pool bar and bistro. Rooms a little dated but well kept and clean.
Stayed before and will agn
Nice resort with really friendly and helpful staff.
The spa under the little waterfall is fun!
Okay stay, the bathroom saves it,otherwise a bit tired!
Will be having my eedding there in october. We love the colonial club
It is good. But the restaurant in it is way expensive. The rooms are clean but not luxurious. You will feel good at morning as it is full of greeneries.
Apparently it's not so good but the inside is very satisfying
Vending machine don't work....there's nothing to drink after 9pm
Loved staying here. Great location and lovely staff. Food was excellent too. We ll be back!
Cosy, old world charm, basic rooms, nice pool and bar
Really disappointed with the resort. Looked for a family friendly resort and it ticked all the boxes, only to find on arrival it was under construction. Nothing about it on the website. They have been working on it since 2017. Plenty of time to add it to their site.
It's a pure tropical heaven. Very calming and relaxing. You are surrounded by nature all the time.
Well free wifi lovely food nice pools and my opinion it is an outstanding resort
Way out of the city. No convenience stores near by. WiFi networks poor. They do it more out of obligation than a service. Food is okay.
Average resort with good pools. The maintenance of the place could be better .
The rooms are spacious, though airconditoning is substandard. There is only 1 restaurant in the place and the menu, is not exhaustive nor is the food good .
Overall not a very good experience, and the service is very average ..
everything was good except their TVs which are really old and you can only watch TV channels. No HDMI or USB port .
Stayed at the Ibis Styles Cairns Colonial Club Resort for two nights, on the first night the radio alarm clock went off in the a joining room to ours at 12:30 pm, the room was not occupied and we had to call the reception desk to turn the clock off. The second night the noise of a tour bus arriving at 1 o'clock in the morning and guests running around looking for there rooms whilst chatting away made our stay unpleasant. Very noisy.
A rapid decline in quality of the once lush award winning gardens. Now they have been pared back to the bare minimum and it's obvious cost cutting. It's ok to be thrifty, but it just looks cheap. Money is being spent upgrading rooms by the look of it and a new playground has gone in but without the natural shade the gardens once offered. Play equipment is now plastic. The pool does look a little better with an updated games room alongside. The buffet breakfast has also been stripped back to bare minimum. Very disappointing from a local perspective.
We enjoyed our stay here!! The staff were very friendly, the price was fantastic! Breakfast was nice. The rooms were satisfactory and the pools were great! We enjoyed the little cave in one of the pools and one of the three was always in shade. A great location, about 5 minute drive from the esplanade.
Fancy place to stay, they're had 3 swimming pool which is the main pool has white sand with tropical design so awesome, great place to spending time with your family
The pool bar is closed the bar is closed the phone doesn t work there s no soap in the rooms it has really gotten bad at this once great resort
Third visit to this resort, lovely rooms and pool's, well worth staying a few days
Decent rooms, lovely settings and a buffet breakfast. Wish I could have stayed longer to try out the pools!
Good location, hotel offers a good bus service to the town and return, Dont really cater for non meat eaters (at dinner), although very good breakfast in the morning.
Room was fine, but this place is way out of town. Guests are stuck with one restaurant as there is nothing in the vicinity. The hotel is huge and was full of Asiaian and Indian tour groups
We walked after one night, forfieted three nights payment and moved downtown to a decent hotel near the ocean and downtown. Money well spent.
This place should be avoided.
I've been staying here for business for the last four years I love the place, they have been a lot of upgrades too, new room fitouts, gardens outdoor improvement 's it's been great watching the place grow from what it was like 4 years ago to today. Good on you guys! They also have Netflix in all rooms too!
Spread out, but groundsman blowing the paths at 6am in the morning
It s a nice place , the bugs can be bad at nighttime
Supermarkets, restaurants, petrol stations, banks nearby
And not far from the city center
Nice gardens and friendly service, great pools for the kids. The rooms are a bit dated and beds not very comfortable
This is a horrible hotel No free Wi-Fi Not clean either!
Was a good experience last year when we came up but not so much on the weekend just gone if you are a asthmatic or have babies its not so much a hotel for you due to the other guests smoking and being loud definitely wont be back again
My stay at the Cairns Colonial Club was very pleasant! The room was extremely clean and included a small kitchenette with refreshments. The bed was very comfortable for a good nights sleep. The amenities within the complex were all very well kept. The meals at the in-house restaurant are delicious with a beautiful view overlooking the large swimming pool. Only a short 5 minute drive into Cairns City.
Had a kids party. Fully awesome! Very helpful and friendly staff who went above and beyond!!!! Looked awesome! Friendly staff! Excellent food! Party bags, decos and pool toys provided. I had some children who rocked up and weren't actually able to join to kids poolparty - I asked them staff if the restaurant had some colouring in activites for them, and the event staff printed off some colouring sheets and got us some pencils! They also provided a towel to wipe down the slides so that those children could play in the playground cause it was raining. This place was fully epic for a kids party!!!!! Love you guys!!!!!! Will be back again. Totally worth it!
Value, family oriented, practical, value for money.
Friendly service. Met our expectations. Stayed one night before transiting to elsewhere. No frills accommodation. Breakfast was good.
The room was clean but needed some work. The maintenance in the common ground was lacking
Great place to take the kids! The pool slide was a winner and the food was delicious!
Enjoyable stay in a clean and air-conditioned room.
So lovely to be outdoors in these beautiful gardens. Reminds me of balinese hotels and the interactions with their tropical gardens. A great outdoor bar pool area and resturaunt and kids play area. Lots of rooms laundries and tv areas to watch sport with a beer. Good room prices and close to the airport without the noise
The front desk staff was great. The restaurant staff was rude. The rooms were full of ants.
Amazing wedding, amazing stay, amazing food and of course amazing staff ! Thank You !
Nice. Our rooms were newly done up. Would like to see the place in a year when more has been done up, but very friendly and nice place to stay.
Clean, new renovated rooms, loads of parking and family friendly. Will be back soon.
The staff are good, however trying to find your way around the place is impossible, there are no clear directions and it is quite a labyrinthine hotel and the map they give you at reception bears no resemblance to the actual layout of the hotel. I would suggest you avoid the restaurant "the Homestead" I ate an overpriced meal, I paid $25 for a small piece of barramundi and a rocket leaf in a salad in a bowl. I am still hungry!
I love the place, it is Colonial in looks as per the name, very open with great staff and facilities.
Awesome place to wine down relax by the pool, exotic tropical style gardens, spa/Jacuzzi or have a game of table tennis & billiard table TV & Internet facilities, Great ambience, foods great .
Good friendly staff, slightly out of the way from the city though
This resort is not walking distance to the main city area and wharf so we had to use Uber a lot to get around. The local buses aren't frequent and the hotel didn't have a shuttle. I'm not sure if all the rooms are the same, but the room I booked didn't have a bath tub and that was a bit of a disappointment. The bar and snack area by the pool could have better hours.
Lovely motel, super food at the restaurant. Highly recommended
Amazing place would recommend this to anyone loved it so much
The accommodation was very clean the food in the restaurant was very nice they have covid restrictions in place for your safety.
Was given two breakfast coupons by a local tourism worker. I thought it might be nice to take my friend there for breakfast. When I tried to use the coupons I was told they are only for Chinese tourists. I was made to feel awful. Will never go back there. This place is not for locals. Very stigmatising experience.
Good place to stay for a few nights, they are renovating so the garden is messy.
We enjoyed happy hour at the Thirsty Flamingo, the staff were pleasant and the room was clean and functional however if you prefer to park your car at the room for security, Cairns Colonial Club resort may not be a good option. While this accommodation is close to the airport, it appears that international travellers check in quite late at night and if a peaceful night sleep before a long flight is on your agenda, Cairns Colonial Club resort may not be the place for you. We may have just been unlucky, or perhaps the resort could benefit from greater sound insulation for the rooms. Overall, next time I might opt for a quieter location.
Room keys were very iffy if they worked or not, but the food is good and good AC
Great place and people, Always a pleasure to deal with.
Had my sisters wedding there in September. Awesome!!!!
Awesome & Awesome
A convenient location for families travelling to cairnes. An awkward distance from the city centre and probably not really worth the effort if youre looking to travel to the esplinade every day. But great for relaxing and getting some peace and quiet.
We had very cool time at Craig Colonial club Resort
Terrible customer service, treated me with disrespect. On top of the service, the food tasted off and was extremely disappointed, I ate a piece of watermelon that tasted and smelt strongly of onion. I will never stay there again
