We met Oudaen for the first time last Saturday evening. Young, little interested service. We ordered the sandwiches with the first drink after the starter. Can all happen.

We were offered a place on the rear elevation. It became so hot there that it was actually impossible to do. The extraction system was switched on upon request, but unfortunately we didn't notice much of it.

The food itself wasn't even wrong, but if you're not comfortable anymore ...

We spent a great evening here with great food, delicious drinks and friendly service in a pleasant atmosphere. Beer is brewed here! Tip: definitely book a table, because there is always something going on ...

With a small room for a conference or presentation, a good restaurant and often good parties on the BGG.

Good food in a room that was rented for a large group of people. Everyone was served at the same time. Excellent organization.

Beautiful business in the medieval city castle Oudaen. Women in the basement their own beer and serve above-average tasty dishes. Absolutely recommended for early evening snacks and drinks, later in the evening a little quieter and better suited for a good conversation. Absolutely recommended.

The venue is amazing and dates back to the 13th century; food is delicious and staff are both attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Great atmosphere during the day and in the evening. Perfect place to have a bite, a drink, or both!

Attended as part of a large group and had a tour of the brewery with the brewer which was great. Then beer tasting in the "basement" which is right on the river. Only a small brewer so a limited range of beers but I enjoyed the white beer, very refreshing.

Ouwe Daen is unfiltered wheat beer with wheat ... As far as I am concerned, the tastiest beer that is brewed in Utrecht and, moreover, a tour of the brewery on site is very nice. Top food in the restaurant or just nice in the cafe. Nice little theater and great hospitality.

Food was good. The restaurant was relatively full and the service slow und not very attentive. Beers were homemade and range from Pilsener via blond double to IPA.

Delicious eaten! Our dishes tasted excellent and all looked like works of art. The service was very nice. Excellent service. This is really a restaurant where you get value for money and I will definitely come back more often.

Just a nightcap at 22.30 on Friday evening .... sorry the trippel is over, sorry we do not serve a board more, apologies also the ukeg (keg of beer) can no longer be served. Poor LED lamps replace the chandeliers, poor business management replaces traditional castle style in this city castle.

It is a nice restaurant with pastries and hot / cold food. If the weather is nice you can also sit outside. It is in the middle of the city so if you are hungry or thirsty you can go there.

We have made a confirmed reservation on the website and with an email for dinner at 22.00 and upon arrival we have been told that the restaurant is closed and we have run out of the romantic dinner that we had planned. We have been suggested to go to other restaurants on the same street ... disastrous customer service. Very disappointed.

Eaten here with friends in the week before Christmas before we went to the theater. Cozy restaurant, food is great. Due to the crowds, my main course became slightly different than expected. Is finally solved well.

It wasn't very good. The rare steak was well done. The carpaccio had hardly any meat. The spare ribs were dry. The homebrew beer was quite good though

At the end of April we celebrated our family party (and also our secret wedding :)) in beautiful Oudaen. We started in the yard cellar in the brewery cafe. In addition to the delicious drinks, boards with cheese, sausage and beer brush bread were served while we enjoyed ourselves both indoors and outdoors with family and friends. Afterwards we went to the most beautiful area of the castle, the restaurant, for a bubble, after which we went to dinner. Everyone agreed unanimously that the food was excellent. We did not have a DJ, but played our own songs via spotify for which the Oudaen staff had arranged reinforcements. It was a swinging evening in which all the children also let go. The service was quick, attentive and very friendly! Really very nice. We are very happy that we chose Oudaen, because the day was never to be forgotten!

Tasty lunch in Oudaen as often. Such a shame, however, that the orange juice at Oudaen is not freshly squeezed.

The tea does not end. No fresh herb mixtures. The only possibility that remained was fresh mint tea, the mint of which, however, stuck like a bunch of carrots into a too small tea glass. These are the small things, but it does determine the impression that is left behind ... But as said, the lunch was delicious again ..

Nice cafe / restaurant located in the center on the canal. The restaurant is spacious with tasty beer from our own brewery.

Very nice restaurant and a great atmosphere when you sit outside by the lake. Very friendly staff with whom you can speak in English. The croquettes were the best! :)

The bar is very good, with home-made beer and a good variety. It is a very old renovated castle.

We went here for high tea on a Saturday afternoon. It is definitely the best option for high tea that we've experienced in Utrecht. We requested all courses to be vegetarian and the kitchen was happy to modify a few things for us. The scones were particularly nice, with a great crust and flaky, buttery inside. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and unlike some places, there is plenty of space here so you don't feel crushed up against the next table.

I asked for some mint with my ginger ale and what do I get? Did he man with the longer hair pay me 1.50 or so extra ... came later when I looked at the price card. PLUS for my 2nd ginger ale that day was not extra charged for my mint (because I ordered it from someone else) Really disgusting for 1 mint twig

We had lunch here. Soft mini balls, that does not make you up. I can better bake rolls at home. That's much better. The staff complained "they have been there for 2 hours, terrible". What do you want with those stupid mini portions. 1 star for the property and 2 for the brewery.

Very interesting location, but not responsive to larger groups (80-100 people). Most unfriendly staff, serve side dishes after the main course has been cleared and do not serve cappuccino as the end of the menu "because putting 100 cappuccino is not possible". As if everyone is drinking cappuccino ...

Beer brewery (with an additional end product) very nice, especially when you get a tour of the inspired beer brewer himself.

In short: a location with pluses and quite a few minuses.

Beautiful setting - can watch people walking (and cycling) by by land, and gliding by by water on other side, while eating delicious food served by very friendly staff. And the spare ribs are enormous!

Came here for our friends' wedding and it was absolutely amazing. Such a fun atmosphere and really good food, drink and entertainment. The whole setup was brilliant and the party was fantastic, everyone had a great time. Utrecht is such a fun city, we will definitely be back!

Amazing experience. There happened to be a free table overlooking the canal. We have ordered spare ribs on the recommendation of the waiter. Extremely special experience that we almost never encounter in the Netherlands. Deliciously tenderly cooked with various sauces. As tender as we know it from the USA and various rib parties from Canada. Chapeau for the cook. Taste that.

Nice place. They have Cafeteria, Restaurant and Brewery. They make a healthy and rich meal. If you want to do a tour of the brewery, they will show you how they make beer and you can taste it. They have a terrace next to the canal. A very cozy place.

This building from 1296 is now a restaurant that serves quality food in a moderate but still impressive environment. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

I've been coming here every year and will keep coming back.

I just went for a beer and all expectations were exceeded. We had several specialty beers to try, at the expense of the house and, moreover, a spontaneous tour of the brewery. I have heard that the food is very tasty and after this great experience I will certainly return to experience it myself. Fantastic!

Nice restaurant in the heart of Utrecht. Also nice for a party.

The menu is ample and the food ordered was excellent / luxurious.
On busy days you do have to wait for service.
