A beer bar with an old decor, as it strongly pumps up antiquity. The beer is tasty, the cooking time is long, the prices bite.

We went to breakfast. A place and a very nice terrace full of locals, but at the time of payment we were charged 18.35 for 2 cafes, 2 croissants and an orange juice !!! I realized that our cafes were twice the size and the juice was the same. The conclusion that I draw is that tourists are cheated. We were also taking things out one by one without concert. I would not go back

It was full of dutch people, we paid a lot (more than 18 per 2 breakfast), I realized tha our coffes were double size than the rest of the people. And i can assure nobody asked me about what size i liked! I think they cheat the tourist, at least at me!

Food is okay good and friendly staff prices can be a bit higher

I was here during the holidays and it was a great experience! We ordered the five-course menu with dishes that sounded quite exciting (for me personally) but turned out to be delicious. Very friendly staff and the dishes were served very quickly (not too fast)! Good atmosphere too. In short, a very nice place to dine.

Settled here for a drink, especially attracted by the advertisement of home-brewed beer, which was an excellent choice. The location of the terrace was very good, a super nice place full of excitement.

Decent food but very long wait. Was in large group so not totally unexpected. They have their own brewery and a handfull of in-house beers.

Being a craft beer lover I have stumbled onto this place even without knowing they brew their own kraft beer. What a nice surprise. The beer was great as well as food and service. I wish I could stay there longer to have all their beers, but it was only lunch and I had to save myself for further exploration in the evening.

We have been to this restaurant in Utrecht a few times and really like the place. On a warm summer's day, it's a real joy to grab one of the canal side tables with the bustle of the city taking place above your heads. And we particularly enjoy the mussels and chips! Service is variable - on this occasion it took almost 20 minutes to attract one of the servers in order to get our bill. And the poor lady behind us ended up wearing her hot water when her selection of tea bags was being brought over to her. The menu is in Dutch and English in the main, which is useful for tourists - with the sole exception of Flammkuchen which turned out to be a flatbread style pizza (lovely) rather than the anticipated tart. Ah well, we live and learn. It brews its own beers which are great and you can see the old copper still at canal level. Toilets are not well signed and trying to work out how to get to canal level from the ground level interior is trickier than you would expect. Overall this is a lovely place that serves good food and the staff are friendly. We will be back.

The staff was a bit windy that day, so we had a bit of a problem with the bill, but the food was delicious :)

Visited Oudaen with an old colleague. Nice fresh beer on tap. Unfortunately, the triple was finished, but the blond and lager were delicious and our colleague also liked the double! Beer brewer gave us (me) a small tour / explanation of the construction process, nice! Because he was already wearing the jacket to go home! Also eaten: that was fine too! Very friendly staff in the restaurant. You can go here!

Delicious eaten on the water, good vegan salad and brie sandwich. Plenty of choice. Wonderful thing. But boys, what did the toilets look like! Therefore one star less.

Beautiful restaurant where unfortunately many improvements have been made to the food and service. Many of the dishes or parts were not available on a quiet Friday night, and in addition, nothing was done with feedback about the cave-dry burgers. The staff often seems to be lost; up to 3 times someone with the wrong dishes is at 'our' table. In a restaurant where you can enjoy a simple but complete dinner for 20 euros, this is not a problem, and you really don't expect anything else. However, at a restaurant like Oudaen (with accompanying price list) you expect different, and above all better.

Dirty air hangs through the brewery at the bottom of the building.

Great food, fast, friendly service. Had toast, croquette sandwich and flammkuchen. The flammkuchen was on the very small side.

I had to modify the arrival time due to changes in my visit itinerary, so I had to send an email again. Quick response on your part. Another point in its favor.

Upon arrival we were attended to quickly, even though the ground floor was quite busy. Two spaces are differentiated. The ground floor as a brewery and the upper floor as a dining room.

The menu was not very extensive to say the least, abounding the menu similar to fast food. However we managed to get away from this type of food and we were able to eat quite well. Good beer

The attention service is impeccable. Very well decorated place according to what a castle should be (saving the distances).

Nice restaurant serving delicious food. The kroketten was amazing, as was the goat cheese salad. The service was very courteous. Strategically located between the central station and Utrecht s famous St. Martin s cathedral. Outdoor seating with views of the canal available. Highly recommend.

Unbelievable that this Opportunity does not give what the customer wants. We had reserved with 3 people. And they had already brought a steak with fries, wine and champagne, but upstairs we could only get a deer steak after some staples, this was then brought, but then it was chewing and chewing but not digestible after it went back and it came back fried. so tough I left it. After the ministry understood that it was not good, nothing else was done as sorry.

Nice place to eat in Utrecht, we were with a group and the service was incredibly pleasant and yet professional.
Oudaen's beers were delicious again, we took the tasting and could taste the different types that Oudaen brews.

This place is downgraded by a few stars from an atmospheric and unique restaurant and bar. That is unfortunate and unnecessary. Sometimes it is wise to keep what is good as well. Here has been modernized. Nice but the atmosphere is a bit messed up.

Top location. The charm of the outside does not match the inside. Staff try to do it all right. Received fast service and food was fine!

Incredibly grumpy waiter, couldn't laugh and interrupted us during a conversation to ask if we wanted something to drink. Then 4 times forgotten the drinks from different table companions and I had received the wrong sandwich.

Bad service:
- Several times asked for a drink, but not received.
- Little to no personal attention, was not asked if everything was to your liking or if we wanted to drink something
- Staff dropped a beer bottle, over my sweater and my jacket, could not apologize and was rather laconic about. It took quite a while before it was cleaned up and I had to sit down somewhere else so that they could clean it up. The cleanup could have been more eficient and more adequate. Afterwards received a dry-cleaning-certificate (this one did not come home, but it was a good thing that I took a picture of it otherwise I would have been allowed to pay for the dry cleaning costs myself) but otherwise NOTHING the house or a free drink or something like that ... "we can not start that". Now I have to go to the dry cleaning with my coat in MY precious free time, pick it up again at another time and then mail the receipt to old and then by God's grace hope that I get the money into my account. It gives me only inconvenience and extra hassle ..
Food:
- Little bar / bistro menu, few special dishes ..
- Break bread dry

- Beer (which I did get) nice, nice to try their own brand, too bad they do not have blond beer
Ambiance:
- Pretty noisy, more suitable for large groups, because of this no? background music, bit like Olivier

Recommended: No absolutely not, for atmosphere and a fun time you do not have to go here. Partly because of the very moderate approach of something that is undoubtedly more common .. Nasty spiciness left over.

Update:
I have to email twice and call twice before getting my dry cleaning costs back. And not even the decency to send me an e-mail that my e-mail has been received in good order and the amount zs.s.m will be transferred. I have never had such a bad service from such a hospitality company.
