Great food, great view and the service was fantastic!
Unbelievable location for a wedding. Seriously gorgeous, cannot imagine a better place. Views are excellent, catering was delicious, staff is friendly.
Nice place for offsite trips. Clean, calm and beautiful
Good stay. They try to go above and beyond, but somewhat miss the mark in some ways. Staff is friendly though, but expected more especially in a quiet off-season.
Beautiful but expensive. The restaurant we've always found to be unmemorable food and patchy service. A good central location for exploring the Carmel area
The room is super nice. The tub and shower are fantastic. The whole ranch is beautiful. Everyone is friendly. Food is delicious. Just expect to pay a super premium if you get room service.
Great resort with a heavy focus on local and sustainable. Beautiful setting and incredible family friendly.
Crazy and chaotic times, but still loved this place. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were nice. Restaurant was excellent. Can't wait to go back with less smoke and no mask!
Great place to have dinner and drinks. Michelle at the bar is very quick with service and very knowledgeable about drinks.
forcased rainy but not really. no players on the course and the condition is awesome. friendly crews and it was 2 hours driving down to play at such a nice course under a perfect weather. out course is on plain and in couse is around hills. club house is clean and sleek as much as any private. if you want to relax and enjoy a warm golf, here is the right one.
Great scenery and very quiet and serene! There are activities to do everyday like making bath bombs or cycling classes. There are a bunch of jacuzzis as well and multiple places to eat. They have a nice golf course. Although the campus is very big there are golf carts they can take you around on. Also, there is not much stuff to do outside of the resort, but there are plenty of activities to do within it!
Really beautiful property. We had an amazing room with an outdoor bathtub. Room was very spacious. Check-In was delayed, and there wasn t enough staff at check-out. Surprisingly, there was no one available to assist with baggage to the room. The beauty of the property and comfort of the room made us forget about those hiccups.
THE place to stay while in Carmel. I looked and looked for a place to stay in town to be within walking distance from shops and the wine. :) I only found older boutique hotels that weren't for us - we like an updated hotel with plenty of room, and preferably a hot tub and spa. We found all of that and more at Carmel Valley Ranch. It's a 10 minute drive to downtown Carmel and totally worth the few extra minutes. The rooms are HUGE with a separate living room area. The food and spa is fab - wonderful golf course, easy to park - beautiful grounds. We will be going to back and won't stay any where else!
The Ranch is a beautiful facility, the staff are uniformly warm and friendly, and the Lodge restaurant has to be the best in the area - don't miss it!
Love this resort, awesome staff and beautiful views
Special thanks to Valerie, Cyrus and Carlos the poolside bartender !!!
Fantastic setting and staff. Really a wonderful place to spend time with the special people in your life. Great for a romantic getaway, but would also be great with family
A little far from other things but other than that, all good
Very nice rooms. We had a outdoor stone tub on our deck. The bathroom had heated floor. There were a few things on our room that needed repair...Some of the hangers on the curtains were broken, there were some exposed wiring in the closet..And so.e of the vents had dust caked on them.
Lovely and calming place with friendly and helpful staff
Very luxurious and beautiful. Probably too expensive for me to stay privately. I was here for work. Attention of the personnel was outstanding. The location, buildings, food were very high quality. We choose to do arching as an activity. That lacked a certain relaxedness due to the safety restrictions handling bow and arrows. So this was only okay. The reason for 4 stars is the price tag and my perception of value for money.
Great food. Very well done and the Carmel Valley Road Ice Cream is amazing
Lovely atmosphere and staff. Our room had a beautiful view! All the activities like archery and the Bee Experience were so much fun! Free s'mores by the fire at night? Come on!
This is a beautiful Resort and the golf course is fantastic. We've played it more famous and price your places but this was one of our favorites. Rooms are nice but a bit odd. The lighting should be better because there's no place to read a newspaper, comfortably. The polished concrete floors are also cold to the bare feet. The floors and bathroom are heated and those are nice.
High quality resort, very friendly staff, immaculately manicured grounds and out of this world views. It does come off a bit like a country club or retirement community in some parts, which is much different than the rest of Carmel Valley, but no complaints just an observation.
This place is amazing. This is where the WASPs come. The staff were amazing they took great care id my kids and myself. They have an amazing outdoor space. Tons to do with the kiddos and plenty to do without them. Downside they are very expensive and out of the way. The ranch is a resort so plan on spending most of your time there. But that was fine with me.
The grounds are stunningly beautiful. The service is hit and miss. The food has gone way downhill from what was offered in previous years. There are far fewer activities offered now, and when we showed up for the Goat Gab and Organic Garden Tour, there was no tour or formal goat gab session. There was just a guy there who said that we could only pet the goats through the fence.
All of this was fine, but what wasn't fine was how filthy our suite was! For close to a grand per night, it is completely unacceptable to offer a suite with marks on the toilet that come off with cleaning (yuck!), a rug in the main room that had a strong greasy/stinky dog stench, and an unswept floor complete with a bobby pins and food particles.
We had our dog with us, and we love dogs. The stench was strong, so much so that our crawling baby reeked of it every time she crawled in the rug.
I mentioned this very politely to the front desk, and they said they would call housekeeping to swap out the rug, sweep the floor, and give the toilet and rest of the room a better cleaning. We kept our dog out of the room, but no one ever showed up, so we waited for our cleaning the following day. They came and went, leaving behind the dirty rug and filthy floor. This feels so wrong given the price of this place! I expect much better.
Rooms were amazing and huge. Facilities were beautiful and the surroundings are breathtaking.
Beautiful rooms, very secluded and peaceful. Close to some amazing trails and sites to see
My friends and I only explored the area but when we were at the lodge it was clean and all the employees we encountered were very polite. We walked around the ranch but didnt get far because it was mainly suite houses or the golf course. But either way the view of the hills was beauitful.
I have not stayed in the hotel but the ranch itself is a very nice place to be. Beautiful pools and all the amenities you could ask for.
A secret hideaway <br/>My husband and I go here and picnic in the vegetable garden, and then we take our doggies on a walk, on seemingly endless trails amongst the oak trees and hanging moss. Gorgeous vista views, a great exploration, and not too many people along the way. The club house pool, restaraunt and outside bar by the fire pits looks divine. I would definitely book a stay here, if I didn't already live in Carmel. Dog Friendly, perfectly lovely! Also you can visit my Google Profile if you want to contact me regarding more of my travel tips.
Low middle-class resort with a high middle-class price tag.
For the same amount of money or a bit more you can go to a much nicer place in the area, like Bernardus or Ventana.
PRO:
- The staff at reception is exceptional
- Staff is responsive over email
- Resort grounds feel spacious
- Hydra facial in the spa was good
CON:
- Almost impossible to get staff on the phone before, during and after our stay. Had a hard time booking spa, dinner, or ask questions.
- Entrance to the resort is fancy and well designed, but as soon as you step back into the actual resort everything looks older and run down.
- Pool areas are tacky and crowded.
- We were in the Hilltop Garland Suite with Premium View. The room was dark and construction and furniture felt old. We could clearly see people walking beneath our building (and they us), while the "premium" view of the mountaintops was entirely hidden behind leafy trees.
- Food in the restaurant and room service was mediocre, diner level.
- Room service requests were not honored.
- Most interactions with staff members felt stunted to varying degrees. One staff member from room service hung the phone up in our face (we brought this up at checkout and got credited for one of our meals).
- They made a mess of our billing which I had to call and straighten out (staff member who helped me with this was very helpful).
It's amazing to visit an drive while you can see nice landscape and green valley
Love the lavender and the garden. Skip the restaurant.
It's a beautiful property. Enjoyed playing the golf course and dinner and drinks with friends later at The Lodge.
Amazing weekend with my girls on a much needed mom's getaway. Such a tranquil and calming
resort with a perfect setting that absorbs the surroundings. Extra special with the fantastic bottle of wine given to us by our helpful Bellman...Andy Lee. Looking forward to returning....
Love the various activites that are well done and the grounds are wonderful.
Very good Angus beef burgers and chicken club sandwiches. The service leaves something to be desired.
Great place, amazing staff and very high quality food and staff. The best place I've been to in years.
Nice resort, beautiful rooms but for our family it was not worth the high cost. The fee based activities they offer are somewhat average, the best of the ones we did would be the bee experience and the pools were just ok. Not to mention, apparently there was a balance due on my bill that I was not aware of and they waited till over 19 weeks later to contact me to get a payment. I then had to spend my time reviewing my older credit card statements, confirming charges etc. I should had been contacted the day of check out or the following day instead.
Perfect getaway from the city for a few days of complete peace and quiet!
Amazing place. Relaxing, with something for anyone. Thanks!
Room was amazing - great view of the valley below, outdoor tub, rocking bed on balcony, comfortable bed, beautiful restroom, and overall very comfortable. Loved the activities at the ranch as well - gorgeous views on the Horseshoe Loop Trail, great morning workout at the cycling class, and incredible organic garden. Infinity hot tub was extremely relaxing, full-service gym at River Ranch had great equipment, and the restaurants were reasonably priced. Best hotel / resort experience thus far, I am not surprised they are ranked as #1 Northern CA resort.
Nice secluded 500 acre playground as they like to call it. We stayed in the estate suite which had a kitchenette, perfect to cook food for our little one. There is a deal for locals especially on Sunday with rates as much as 50% off. We will definitely come back since one visit is not enough.
Wonderful customer service some of the nicest people you will meet. The scenery is beautiful and the food is delicious. If you get a chance do the Bee experience activity.
One of our all time best places we have stayed.
Our room had the best view down to the valley.
The property has the best of everything! The pool is spacious and the pool service is first class. The golf course is manicured and the restaurants are definitely top notch.
You will find this is the place to unwind and relax.
I love Carmel Valley Ranch so so much. First of all, their accommodations are top notch. Beautiful rooms, perfectly furnished and incredibly homey and comfortable. Fire pits throughout the grounds, which is a great touch in the evenings if you want to roast s'mores or just cozy up near a fire. I received one of the best massages of my life at the spa, and every meal I've had at the main restaurant has been absolutely delicious. I'm always so sad to leave, and look forward to my next visit.
A great resort - close to the Monterey airport and easily accessible by drive (or Uber). Has large suites, very well put together and full with all the amenities that you may need. Cool weather and an expansive resort, highly recommended!
A bit dated but it's part of it's charm. Beautiful landscape and friendly staff. Plenty of activities
This place hits it out of the park on every category! Location, rooms, food, service and activities were all fantastic.
Wonderful place to go for a family run-packed time. Staff were friendly and I would highly recommend 'The Amazing World of Bees' activity - Spencer and Mariah are so knowledgeable and obviously love their bees - fantastic!! See you soon Carmel Valley Ranch!!
Been here many times, and will keep coming back. Beautiful property with lots of things to do.
Have been here multiple times. Very nice. Stayed here for my honeymoon 13 years ago. I do miss the actual wood burning fireplaces though. Great views from your room. Peaceful atmosphere. A good place to unwind. Hiking, swimming and a nice golf course as well. I hope to come back and visit soon.
Great service, rooms are spacious And well maintained. Gorgeous property
A great place to getaway from all of your stresses. The rooms a beautiful and well maintained. The bed is amazingly comfortable. So much so that I didn't want to get out of bed. It is very pricey, but if you're a golfer it is a must. If on a budget, check for package deals or go in the off season.
Beautiful resort with golf, fitness, beekeeping tour and conference space. Great views. Bonus: wild turkeys wander around freely.
Wonderful place to visit as a family. Lots of kid friendly activities and dining in a semi rural setting.
Nice and comfortable but not too fancy. Within a 2 two hour drive from much of the greater Bay Area and they have Tesla changing stations.
I wish their DVD selection for the kids was better but next time I'd just bring my own so not a big deal.
This resort is fantastic. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. Our room had a soaking tub on the patio and plenty of privacy. We will definitely return.
Drains in shower, sink and bathtub we're clogged and we ended up with an inch of water whenever we turned on the tap.
A place to have lunch on a rainy day. The holiday decor was stunning.
I came for a social event and the food was fantastic but there was nowhere to sit. It was standing tables only and I came after working all day on my feet and had to stand another 2.5 hours at this event. The music at the beginning was also way too loud, but it quieted once food was served.
Beautiful views of the valley from the suite. Feels very secluded and quiet on the property (visiting in late October). Staff was very friendly and helpful. First room had a tree obstructing the view and they helped to move us to one with a better view. (Totally worth it. Waking up to the view of the winery is amazing). They were very accommodating for last minute reservations and changes.
Beautiful grounds to walk around a golf course. Wild deer and turkeys roaming the property. Short drive to Carmel Valley to visit wineries and the coastal towns of Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. 10/10, would recommend.
My husband and I stayed in March and were beyond impressed. This is a stunning property located in an absolutely beautiful location. Thomas and his entire team exceeds every standard for service, attention to detail and engagement with their guests. We felt so at home here as though we lived at the ranch for the duration of our stay. We were originally scheduled to stay 5 days, and extended our trip another 2 days as we didn't want to leave! We are already planning another trip back in the Fall and cannot wait to return!
This is such a beautiful resort. It's an outdoor resort so works well during covid times to help keep distance. Plenty of land to explore and hike on, and lots of activities too. Kids loved the farm animals and using the family pool. Staff was very friendly with every member wearing masks, plenty of hand sanitizer stations, spaced out outdoor dining, and drop at door room service. The stay felt comfortable, safe, and relaxing!
Lovely and tranquil. Easy freeway access. The lodge is very comfortable for meetings.
Lush. Many tees from hill to low for big drives. Great curves. Tough hazards
