This place offers a variety of dining experiences. And hands down this is one of the best places I've ever eaten. And I've eaten at a lot of amazing restaurants. And the rest of the resort and golf course is absolutely beautiful
Service was very good and food was very good as well. Loved the 16 and older pool and infinity hot tub. Very relaxing for couples or a single person looking for peace and quiet
One of the most beautiful views I've ever seen. Incredible food. Highly recommended
We came for a pre wedding round of golf and had a great time! Beautiful course and friendly staff!
Wonderful experience. Would highly recommend. We are grateful to have stayed here.
Nice people. Tight course. Drive well stay out of trouble.
Carmel Valley Ranch is a wonderful hotel and resort. Hiking, dining, golfing, swimming, and playing tennis are a few of the activities available for guests. Our family would love to return again for a longer stay.
Nice mountain Course and resort. Service and food were great.
Incredible rooms, make sure to get one with an outdoor soaking tub
We were looking forward to a very nice experience for New Years and found the Carmel Valley Ranch online. It looked great, but when we got to our *very expensive* luxury suite, we found cracked tiles in the bathroom, torn rugs in the living area, a partly melted TV in the bedroom. There was no remote for the bluray/dvd player, but we did have 3 remotes for the 2 TVs. Service was good, but the cleaning was not - the last night we were there, the maid service did not clean the bathroom well or not at all.
To their credit, on check out when I mentioned the problems, they gave us a small credit (compared to the overall bill) and they had given us a nice bottle of champagne on check-in for our special occasion.
I should specially mention the restaurant: The first evening meal was very tasty, but exceptionally salty. The breakfast was part of the room fees. It was okay, but got worse and worse.I didn't know you could have burned granola. We gave up eating there.
The grounds are beautiful. We can't speak to the quality of the sports amenities, such as golf or tennis. We didn't stay there for that.
I had a spa massage and the experience was very good. The massage therapist was professional, kind, effective and accommodated my special request for non-scented oil.
Overall, it was a disappointment because we were hoping for more, but there were some bright spots.
We came here 21 years ago it has changed a lot but it is wonderful. Facilities are excellent as is accomodation. Because it is inland the sun was shining but we drove through cloud to get here from San Fransisco. The boys love the pool and the bball court. We will be sad to leave but will return!
Settled in the beautiful hills of Carmel roughly 10 miles from the coastal Carmel by the sea, this 400 plus acreaged place boast scenic views that can rival almost any place in the country. Loaded with beautifully manicured California oak trees around primary lodging buildings and service centers, this place is amazingly spacious and has golf courses, a nice gym with multiple swimming pools, restaurants etc. Very impressive hideaway for family and romantic vacations. Highly recommended.
Very family friendly. We all enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
Horrible service to teenage members, utterly disrespectful and continued to kick my daughter out despite our long-term membership. Poor staff and security
The service at this hotel is impeccable. Every thing you ask for someone is trying to accommodate. Incredible.
Great food. Great ambiance. Rooms are very nice. Everyone has been friendly. Highly recommend for an anniversary or special occasion.
This is great place to waste away a day at the spa.
My favorite place to relax. Spa and pools are great, service isn't 5 star but the rest is worth it, once you get to know the place you don't need a lot of help so its still 5 stars to me. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a spa weekend.
Came here with our 2 year old son in April. It was just warm enough to play in the pool and there are many of them, all heated. Our suite was spacious and clean and staff was great. I d say this place is probably better suited for families with older kids 5+ in order to take full advantage of all the facilities, but still great for all ages.
Love that they allow dogs. Great cozy romantic spot for a weekend getaway. Eat at Valley Kitchen. No reason to go anywhere else! S mores every night and take advantage of the activities!
Magnificent. Service and amenities were perfection.
This is a beautiful golf course with stunning views and first-rate amenities. Course is in great shape and well-maintained. Be sure to choose the right tees to enjoy this challenging track. Staff is very friendly and courteous!
Spent a lovely weekday night using the healthcare heroes discount. Gorgeous and relaxing property. Very family-friendly, yet several adult-only areas for those who want peace. Would definitely stay here again. All 3 pools open during COVID times (2 adult-only, 1 family pool). Unfortunately all the hot tubs were closed and turned into mini-pools due to local health regulations. They offered numerous outdoor fitness classes (advanced registration required) and s mores during the evening. There is even a beautiful botanical garden with chickens and goats for the kids to enjoy. Definitely bring a bottle of wine to watch the sunset @ the lookout point just beyond the Lodge.
Luxurious living. Definitely recommend your company offsite happen here. Can t speak to the value of this accommodation, but it certainly is nice.
Beautiful location, very kid-friendly, dog-friendly, beautiful pool and grounds, and ample outdoor activities including guided experiences through their farm, cheesemaking from their goat herd, and honey from their bee hives. A wonderful place to relax and disconnect for a day or three.
Sprawling, scenic, beautiful property with exceptionally clean and well furnished rooms. This was a great venue for a corporate retreat.
We notified the staff twice that the family pool was absolutely packed and not compliant with any of the Covid restictions (25 people was the limit listed by the pool). We suggested that maybe they open up one of the two adult pools (both were pretty much empty) but were told 'the spa manager likes to keep the adult pool separate'. Be that as it may 1) they aren't compliant so they need to do something since they booked all these rooms 2) the spa isn't even open. I get they are working the kinks out as they reopen but there is a fairly clear solution to this problem - they just are choosing not to do it.
Pampered with kindness and special attention with every need and desire. The staff makes you feel special and the property is beautiful with every aspects of mother nature that surrounds you. A pleasant stay and a memorable experience. A wonderful place to experience for all the joys that life can bring.
Great property. Beautiful rooms and views. The food is also amazing for a hotel.
We had a great time there's a wonderful place to stay I recommend it to anybody the food was great the wine was great the staff was great
Beautiful natural setting, but the property is feeling its age in places.
Beautiful place to live. The golf courses are nice and the homes are nice.
What an amazing resort. The renovations are nearly completed, and the place looks great. The staff is extremely friendly, even remembered my name several hours later. The facility is very welcoming, with a huge warm pool, an endless jacuzzi, and a nice spa and workout room. The rooms themselves are very nice suites with solid furnishings. The food is high quality for a hotel, and the grounds (golf course, tennis courts, etc.) are well maintained. A great place to stay.
Our friends said we should try it. Immediate thoughts were it was quiet and relaxing. Not so much. They immediately changed our rooms when the children upstairs were running around unsupervised, so thank you. The accommodations were cozy in both rooms. However, the spa was disappointing. The massage, main/pedi, and facial were just, average. Then I learned my credit card had been skimmed while there. They have been less then helpful with the excuse they changed to a new system when I finally caught the charges. I asked for follow up. None. I keep calling to see was it really a system update or did someone skim my credit card while at this swanky spa? Well, radio silence. We did eat at the restaurant, and for what it was, I would give three stars. We are foodies, the food was just... ok. We won't be back again. We are telling our friends not to go back again. Disappointing. Location is not everything. Service is.
Great round of golf. Service staff were outstanding!!!
Amazing atmosphere and the weather was perfect. Saw deer and turkey every day we were here.
Suites are very roomy. Beautiful grounds with lots of activities. family friendly.
Lost my swim suit, staff would not let me in to retrieve it from sauna area.
Wonderful place for a getaway. Beautiful grounds in a serene setting.
This is our second time to Carmel Valley Ranch and the service has remained amazing each time. Pm 's a wonderful kid-friendly place, so I know we'll certainly be returning with the little one!
Love Love Love this place! Everything is top notch!
A really beautiful setting with large and opulent rooms. Great pool area. Several trails surround the property and provide some nice but not too strenuous hikes.
Beautiful place. Inside you can move by car. Beautiful rooms. I don't think I would go there at full price, but with the offer at $ 200 it can be done. A big flaw is the organization of the restaurant, which I would define scandalous. At Dinner they made us wait for a table for 2 for 45 minutes, and half of the tables were empty. Whenever we asked they told us to wait 5 minutes. Breakfast is also a sore point. It is not included in the room, the buffet cost $ 28, and a la carte the choice is really poor with poor portions. Would I stay there again? Yes, but at a maximum of $ 200.
Extremely luxurious suites with amazing views! Terrain has steep inclines and beautiful foliage. There are team building activities offered by the staff, meeting rooms and private dining halls.
Beautiful location. But the kids pool is a bit far from the main Lodge and rooms to walk there.
Beautiful location nestled in the valley, delicious food and friendly, prompt service.
Came in Dec and we were in the middle of a rain storm after many years of drought. We were surprised that we got upgraded and our package does not include the upgrade. The service of the staff were great. We have free shuttle to everywhere at the ranch (it is huge) and the shuttle goes straight to our front door. The food at the lodge (breakfast and dinner) and at the club house (breakfast) were great. I had the rib eye and my wife had the season sword fish which were perfect.
The view was incredible. We saw deers also, so drive carefully, especially at night. It is hard to describe all the activities it has without going to the web site. Great place for families with kids, with pets, or just a romantic getaway.
Fabulous service and the rooms and grounds were very clean. Enjoyed every moment.
Amazing! I loved staying here. My husband and I were upgraded to a suite, and had the most relaxing stay here. There is so much to do, but if it is your first time I would recommend staying during the weekend because they host tons of activities for every type of guest, including families
Friendly staff, but the suites are a bit older and could use some updates. The s'mores at the fire pit in the evening was a nice touch.
Do NOT stay here if you want peace and quiet. the wall here is paper thin. everything happening in the next room sounds like happening in your own room.
the ranch caters to families, so you get families with young kids and babies. people next door talked, laughed, babied cried all the way until midnight. you hear EVERYTHING! When the kids run in their room, it sounds they are running in your room, gives you a heart attack every time!
I was also awoken by people next door 7:30 am in the morning. same thing as last night, everything they do, including flushing the toilet, u would hear so clearly it seems like they are happening in your own room.
the room is OK, but definitely not luxurious! the tissue paper is the harsh and cheap kind. the sofa creaks everytime I sit down. The mini fridge only has like 2 water bottles, no soda at all.
also, u wouldn't have any paranamic views of the valley from your room. our balcony overlooks some trees, that's it. the trees covers up the view. some rooms are even worse as they are second row so it would be overlooking other rooms. the only place with a good view is the Bluff suites...
Definitely take your money somewhere else! you stay next to a family with kids, then your whole stay here would be ruined. No noise insulation at all here!
Absolutely amazing, beautiful location and rooms! But several of our group's rooms weren't ready until incredibly late. They gave out a few vouchers and comped us some drinks, but what about the people who don't drink? Later, one person stepped on broken glass in her room and we found bits of dog food under the couch and in the tub. Really, though, it is otherwise absolutely amazing and I expect to come back!
Spa is nice. The price is a little high, but the experience is great. They have dried fruit and nuts waiting for you, along with slightly flavored water. Got a massage. Wasn't as deep as expected. More of a feel good massage than a productive massage. Still good. Pool service was good too. Ordered lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Again, slightly too expensive, but still good. Would suggest if you are looking for a place to relax and/or get a spa treatment for the day.
I thought long and hard about what I wanted to say in this review. In the end, I am going to go with a 2 star review. For a Labor Day/ early birthday weekend away trip I was dead set on getting a massage. My boyfriend and I researched the many options in Monterey and Carmel. We went with Carmel Valley Ranch's in-house spa for our couples massage on August the 31st.. I inquired whether I could get a mimosa when at the spa. I was told by the very friendly spa staffer that I could get a mimosa before or after the massage at the pool area directly next door so she suggested I bring a swim suit to enjoy the pool in. Perfect! What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. At least this is what I thought at the time I booked.
The day of the massage was a beautiful sunny day- often rare on Labor Day on the coast. The massage was excellent and refreshing. I didn't mind paying the price for a day of luxury and relaxation. After the couples' massage, we went to enjoy the pool as suggested again by the spa staffer who assisted us. We went and found chairs at the pool. I immediately started looking around for a pool waiter to put in an order. (We had not eaten before the massage so we were both starving after our 90 minute massage.) A waiter made eye contact with me and then walked to our neighbor to take his drink order. So I waited patiently. Another 10 minutes pass in which the neighbor had been brought his drink order, and two couples have been seated and their drink orders taken. Ten more minutes pass by and we are starting to get irritated and more hungry. Three more couples in the mean time are seated and enjoying appetizers and drinks. I walk over to the waiter station after another ten minutes of no service and ask if I can have a menu. The young staffer said, "Of course!" I go back to my chair and proceed to pick out items that my boyfriend and I would like to eat. We wait another 15 minutes and NO ONE BOTHERS TO COME OVER. At this point I am beyond upset, insulted and famished. We pick up our belongings, return to the spa to change, and leave to spend our money elsewhere to have a nice late lunch.
I will never book anything at this place again. Despite the amazing view and tranquil environment at the "adult pool" and excellent spa services- the trip was a complete waste of time and money. I went to have a great early birthday having a massage to relax and be calm and instead end up leaving angry and stressed out. The payment for the spa treatment was a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY if it was just going to get reversed by rude and non-attentive pool waiters. I would suggest getting spa services elsewhere so you can actually enjoy yourself afterwards, like every other location I have had a massage at. Had I known their service was this poor, I would have not paid to have my massage done at a four star hotel to have two star service. I wish I could have asked for a refund right then and there.
We had mother's day lunch here. The food was very good and the location is spectacular.
My family and I went to have Thanksgiving lunch special at Carmel Valley Ranch. The location is about 20 mins drive from Carmel-by-the -sea. It was great atmosphere since it is surrounding by Mountain and forest. There is beautiful golf course all around the property. Gorgeous area! Foods and drinks were excellent especially dessert. The services and all the servers were really nice, friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable since there was seafoods as well. We absolutely enjoyed our lunch there. Would recommend to anyone and definitely going back for sure!
It is purely beautiful and relaxing the best food ever. You are treated like royalty here!
We arrived after noon with check in time at 4 pm. We were able to check in at 530 pm and were told we will have to move rooms the following day due to a wedding. Did not expect this from a place with such high rates. The restaurant had some of the worst food we had ever eaten. The only saving grace was the sunset dinner - the food wasn't great but the setting perfect.
Amazing room amazing service amazing food. Its pet friendly they have an apiary!!!!
Did the chili cook off here amazing place. Walked into the clientele showing off that they probably shoulda never given them money. Guy was trying to reverse out of a parking spot in drive with his passenger buddy infront of his vehicle and parked cars in front and beside him. Listening to that poor imbisile screams due to his challenged driver friend that crushed him in between the car that he was attempting drive away from made me loose faith in our society and species as a hole. But all in all great time highly recommended this place.
