The room is larger than my entire 2-bedroom apartment in New York. Incredible area, facilities, very clean, great service, interesting and relaxing activities. Would absolutely come here again.

One of the most beautiful places around Carmel to stay. The view from our room was beautiful. It is quiet. The welcome and service are impeccable and everyone is very caring. We had a fantastic time and will definitely go back!

Really nice place for a quick getaway from the Bay area. The Valley Kitchen was excellent .. the breakfast was probably better than a lot of 5 stars, and the staff very friendly and extremely responsive. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every bit of it.

Unfortunately there was no heat in our room when we first arrived. The hotel continued to place us in other rooms that also had defective heaters, however, after the third and final suite also had no heat, maintenance fixed it and the assistant manager came in to personally appologize. She and all other staff memembers were extremely polite and worked hard despite missing the previous attention to details. We are extremely low maintenance folk but the constant relocation and missed details put a damper on our experience.

I went to the lavendar festival. It's not worth $ 90. Maybe $ 50-60. They were not organized. The directors left many to cut the line for food. Lord said it is wrong for Dajar to cut, but he did not do anything. Listen to a lady that the line never changes. I did not do anything to improve your event this year. The people who served the food were very friendly.

This place is amazing! Really nice landscape, excellent food, great activities, very suitable for families with kids. The room upkeep wasn't up to the standard you would expect from such a resort (especially the electrical installation), but the staff is very helpful and friendly.

I used to work as a contract security guard for the property. The management only cares about the image of the resort and has no actual regard for the employees. They cut corners constantly and, instead of hiring more employees for certain things, they loaded the work onto us and other employees which the tasks had nothing to do with, and then had the audacity to suggest we weren't on top of things and say that OUR company should hire more security guards in order to keep up with these tasks.

They used security as a scapegoat for anything that went wrong even if we had no part in it. We were looked down upon and never regarded as part of things. We were basically the redheaded stepchild.

To make matters worse, one of the big bosses over there is a misogynist. I don't play the gender card often but let me tell you the story of how I left the ranch:

Myself and the only other females working on the security team at the time were called by one of our bosses for the security company we were contracted out from and told we needed to come meet with him and not return to the ranch. He met with us each individually and told us that we had done absolutely nothing wrong but we were all getting relocated. We were told that "the client" (the one running the resort) has given him a list of guards he wanted replaced (which was just the females) and when our boss asked why, the client became defensive and remarked that, per the contract, he wasn't required to give a reason. I'll also add that our replacements were all men. The ranch even went so far as to say that myself and fellow female coworkers COULDN'T EVEN BE SUBSTITUTE GUARDS FOR THE PROPERTY. We were literally barred from working there. You do the math.

In short, Carmel Valley Ranch is a soulless and awful company that cares more about money than the people that help them make that money. I have no respect for them nor will I ever. Go spend your money at a resort that cares about its workers.

Stayed here with the family about 10 years ago and enjoyed it very much. We're staying here again in October for a family reunion! Again, really enjoyed the place and would recommend it to anyone.

I haven't stayed here yet, but the experience with making a reservation through their phone number is pretty bad for a luxury resort. First, I had to wait through a menu to get to the correct reservation specialist. Then I was asked to say and spell my name. Then I was asked to provide a phone number. Then I was asked to provide an email address. All I really wanted was to ask a few questions... I eventually got through to a reservationist, but I really struggled to get them to answer my questions. It took them a long time to look up answers to the questions I had, and ultimately I felt like the experience put me off going there.

I had the most pleasant experience while dining with Carmel Valley Ranch. The staff was friendly, helpful, and extremely personable. After ordering a glass of wine and enjoying a beautifully decadent cheese platter, I was approached by the restaurant manager, Samuel. He asked how my meal was and we chatted briefly. The whole experience was so welcoming and genuine. I will most definitely be returning soon!

Place was nice, accommodations were amazing, food was terrible (worst room service food I've ever had - save yourself some money and grab food at the market and buy Entenmann's chocolate cake)

Beautiful grounds, attentive staff, well appointed rooms. The kids' pool area is nearly perfect, with great landscaping, clean showers, great tasting food poolside, and a splash park area. We spent most of our two days next to the kids' pool.

Perfect spot for celebrating the special days, the birthdays, anniversaries, and friendships. They have a huge golf course too across the property. And many trek paths around the 500 acre space which was a ranch before being converted into a resort! The food is amazing, and so are the cocktails. The pool and hot tub area is great as well. There are so many activities through the day for kids, families, couples, friends. It is great to spend a weekend.
You can also try their spa services. Not the cheapest not so relaxing!

It's a very luxurious place with extremely large rooms, amazing views and pretty good food. I have zero complains, though we had a corporate even there, so I have no idea how much did it cost

We had an fantastic visit. Family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). We had a rocky first dinner, and a manager walked by toward the end. Very sharp, picked up on body language. Ended up taking care of us (more than was necessary). I sought him out to explain, and ended up in a great dialogue about it. Dinner under the stars (Thur and Fri) was legit one of the most relaxing awesome dinners I've ever had. Great views everywhere, helpful friendly staff. Great list of activities each day for adults and kids alike. Only gripes were that first night dinner (but again - beyond mitigated!) and the classic mark-up of everything at a resort. But we knew that going in, so it wasn't a shock.

I stayed here for a wedding about a month ago, and I loved it. The rooms were AMAZING. They had a lovely large bathroom, a living room, and a bedroom with a covered balcony and a fireplace. The restaurant had very good food, although the service was quite slow. The views were so beautiful, and there is a foot bridge that crosses the road in the resort, from which you can see the entire mountain and all the houses on it. The resort also has a vineyard and a flower garden, and both are definitely worth the visit. This was one of the best resort experiences I have had in a while!
