Big suites with 500 acres to explore and easy access to Carmel by the Sea. A great restaurant and Golf course on premise. The family pool is a bit far, but also cool to ride to if you bring a Onewheel. ;).

A great hotel, golf, and tennis club. One of my favorite places. The hotel suites are the epitome of understated luxury with stunning views down the valley to the Pacific Ocean as they stair step up the mountain. The resort is placed in a wonderful natural setting, in a beautiful valley. It is a quiet and serene place to unwind and relax, unless the sound of birds singing bothers you. And you may have to get off of the sidewalk and walk around the deer on your way to the restaurant in the hotel where you can partake of it's fine dining selections with a great collection of the best wines. And casual dining at the golf club and on the patio of the tennis club is hard to beat. The golf course is one of the most unique I have ever played with grand vistas as it moves up and around the mountain on the back nine. And the front nine is no pushover as it plays along the Carmel River. You will not regret a few days in this corner of paradise.

The Carmel valley ranch has repelled me like insect repellent to mosquitoes, which is something they lack. First of all, the the service and food absolutely appalled me. The rudeness of the concierge was disgusting. The inconsiderateness of the staff never ceased to amaze me.

Stayed for a corporate event. The space is gorgeous, food supplied was great especially considering it was feeding 100 people. All of the staff, at every instance, was very helpful and kind.

Highly recommend the suite with the outdoor soaking tub! Stargazing has never been better! Golf lessons from Leone got us interested to pursue the game more seriously too! Best anniversary getaway!

Carmel valley ranch is incomparable to any other hotel in Monterey. It is like a full resort with over 500 acres of fun activities. The rooms are huge and technologically up to date. Instead of walking between all activities there are shuttles consisting of golf carts and sprinter vans. There are loads of fun activities such as visiting their garden, bee hives, spas, swimming pools, and restaurants. Would strongly recommend Carmel Valley Ranch to anyone seeking to stay a night or just visit while in Monterey.

Fantastic as a family getaway, but also looking forward to going back without kids. Day 1, we did a short hike with views, then wine by the pool while kids swam. Day 2, back to the pool, then a short drive into Carmel, then dinner and smores back at the hotel. Day 3, my 13 yo daughter did a jewelry class while we hung at the pool.

Beautiful ranch, amazing nature and the hotel. Rooms are very big and comfortable with a spacious bathroom. Good food and cocktails. Poor organization of the restaurant. We waited more than 45' to get a table eventhough 2/3 of tables were free.

One of our favorite places to come as a family. Great kids menu and kids pool. Separate from the adult area which if you have no kids is great. The service is brilliant so kind and friendly. Would totally reccomend.

Thanks to being able to stay in the beautiful Camel Valley. Golf is more luxurious than it was a few years ago, and the staff are polite and friendly. Apart from the problem of the layout of the last few holes, it is very good

The room was not very clean as I like. Under the sheets I have found someones hair, couple of spiders and web around the bed. Also the patio was dirty and was not decorated nicely. Room service was very slow and did not restock the bath items (salt, bubble soap). They did not even leave slippers or shaving blade for us. When we booked the hotel, we were told that up on arrival we will get a discount as AAA member, but they never gave us this discount.
However, the property is beautiful. Swimming pool is great. Restaurant is good. Shuttle service is very helpful.

Came here for lunch. Grounds are beautiful. Food was good, and prices weren't bad. Service was not what one would expect. Long waits for beverages and food. Server was not readily available.

Catastrophic hotel after being thrown from the Big Sur Ventana hotel in the Big Sur forest they give us a room at this awful hotel we had to stay 3 nights at the Ventana but in the end we end up at this atrocious hotel and we only stayed 1 night
Strongly advise against !!!!

Don't get me wrong, I liked the place, but I feel obligated to tell people about the $25 service fee that you're obligated to pay. It's not that much, but it just angers me every time I get this. Why isn't this fee included in the cost of the hotel if you are forced to pay it? Hidden fees bother me and my rule is that I never stay at those hotels again out of spite.

Beautiful upscale resort in a serene setting. The grounds are gorgeous - with a golf course, vineyards, plenty of greenery and actual deer strutting around.
The staff was super friendly, the suites are huge and comfortable. With a large living room, a nice wrap around balcony, there is a touch of class in all the room settings, and amenities - including not one but two Alexas in your room.
We were here for a corporate event and the resort is well equipped for events, and the catered meals were top notch.
The property is huge and rooms can be little walk to get to - so they have shuttles running 24/7 to take you around.
Overall great stay - resort living at it's best.

This place is kind of hidden in a huge Hotel and Golf resort. We sat next to the fire place and I ordered the Burger. It was the biggest Burger I ve ever had, was more rare than medium though but the taste was so good that I almost forgot that I actually ordered medium. It came with fries, Bacon, Avocado, Veggies and Onion Rings. For $35 bucks good enough! Our server was a young nice guy but asked almost 5 times if he can take away the plates even we were still working on them.

Great facilities, super dog friendly, food is great too, but lacking concierge service, and they miss on some of the simple stuff, e.g. no properly stocked mini bar. But otherwise, excellent.

Always love staying here. Look at the views! We spotted wild turkey and deer from our balcony. And the room was gigantic and felt luxurious yet homey. And the front desk and valet service is always excellent.

The location was nice, but the event was somewhat of a failure from my perspective. The kite festival was supposed to have a set schedule, but nothing occurred for the first 2 hours, so we left. I know that was partly due to the lack of wind, but then the question should be asked was the location and date a good option for a kite festival?

Visit here once a year for a work retreat and this...

Visit here once a year for a work retreat and this year was by far the worst experience we ve ever had. The room we were put into seemed like we were in a cheap hotel. We were downstairs in a hallway under the suites, the room was tiny, the desk chair was broken which I found out when I almost fell out of it, the heating unit continuously blew out cold air unless I turned it up to 78, the heating/AC units for the entire building were right outside our room and extremely noisy, and worst of all there were ants EVERYWHERE including in the bed. They had gotten into one of our suitcases and into the items we had left on the dresser so I was pretty annoyed. I called the front desk to see what our options were and they were fully booked and couldn t give us a different room, but they could have maintenance come spray. I m pregnant and didn t feel comfortable with that so their other solution was for housekeeping to come deep clean the room. I agreed to that since it was the only option and we left the room and went to the lobby. My husband went to speak to the manager (Ken) about it and he came over 20 minutes after we got there and told my husband that housekeeping was finished. A deep clean took only 20 minutes? I don t think so. I went back up to check and sure enough housekeeping had never even come to the room. Ants were still everywhere and it was obvious the bed hadn t been touched when I was told it would be completely stripped and redone. Meanwhile, another member of our group had gone home a day early but the room was paid for so my husband asked Ken to move to that room since we knew it was available. He didn t want to move us to that room, but my husband pretty much told him we re going whether they like it or not. We finally got moved over to the other room then went back to the lobby where I spoke to Ken. It seemed like he had no experience in dealing with something like this and worst of all, he lied to us in saying that the issue had been taken care of when it very clearly wasn t. Considering the caliber of the establishment, and that it wasn t some cheap hotel, the way they handled the situation is embarrassing and unacceptable.
