Eats: Lobster Truffle Mac and Cheese, Lobster Bisque, Ahi Tune Stack
C Level and Island Prime is basically a single restaurant with 2 different menus at each side. I thought this was a bit peculiar, but whatever works.

On a busy Saturday night, a wait for a table would be about 45 minutes. Luckily, there was a full service bar, which wasn't overly crowded, but I was able to swoop in a couple seats for my party. It was then that I turned around and saw the marvelous view. C level is basically built on top of the water. Our eventual table would be covered outdoor under a heater, but looking down, you are on a wooden pier. The kicker for all would be the marvelous unobstructed view of the Downtown San Diego skyline.

First to come out would be the ahi tuna stack, which to me was a bit bland on my taste buds. There wasn't really a dominant flavor to put my finger on, but the others in my party appreciated the freshness of the flavor.

My lobster bisque came out a bit watered down, but what would have been a 3 star review turned out to be a 4 star review, when the waitress overheard us talking about it. She promptly offered to take it back to the kitchen and refund our bill. I appreciated this gesture, but politely declined as I would not let lobster bisque go to waste, bland or not. Plus plus points Ms. Waitress. Wish I remembered your name to mention it here (Gaslamp bar hopping would follow).

The lobster truffle mac and cheese would be the highlight of my meal, but I didn't feel the truffle flavor as much as everyone else did. It wouldn't be the best mac I've ever tasted, but it was unique enough. I was afraid that I wouldn't be as filled eating mac and cheese versus, say a burger, but I was surprised. They piled on that mac and cheese and lobster on top. Halfway through, I would have thrown the towel has this not been lobster. I'd definitely come back for happy hour if I'm around town. From looking at other tables, the sandwiches also looked extremely enticing. See ya again, C Level.
