I frequent this hotel often and I always found clean rooms with the height, the location is terrific and public transport are all within 50 meters, the bus stop for the airport then it is opposite the entrance!

Great find! The hotel is very central and yet quiet. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food (a generous breakfast buffet is included if you book online - highly recommended!) is great - vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free diets all catered for. Everything you would want to see in central Dublin is in walking distance, but you also have the Luas just around the corner. For your transport from/to the airport, the 747 Airlink bus stop is right outside the door. I'll definitely be staying again.

This family run hotel is Dublin's best kept secret. All the staff are highly professional but Alex was exceptional. Regardless of how many stars are above the door, it is a five star in experience.

Of all our Ireland hotel stays I would say this was my least favorite, but typical for European city hotels. The room was small and the decor old. The hotel towels have seen better days, the shower would not comfortably accommodate a larger person , Ive never seen coffee and tea service stored permanently in the desk drawer, and our keycards consistently stopped working for room 215 requiring several trips to the front desk who seemed aware keycards were quirky. Food in the dining room was average for the area and the hotel location is within walking distance of lots of dining and shopping options. If you need a budget friendly option, this place is great, but if you have a little extra money, I would look to upgrade a little elsewhere.

Room good for what you paid.
Bed is too small (I'm 1.92).
Facilities are neat and well organized.
Free in-room coffee, no fridge.
Dublin location is great. Everything accessible on foot.

Great staff - warm and welcoming. Really tiny rooms - not bad if you are spending most of your day touring Dublin. Other than lack of space and no view, the room had everything I needed. My window looked out on ventilation shaft but was quiet. It was also in a good location. Room safes and reasonable same-day laundry service. I'd stay here again.

Hotel very well placed with buses nearby. We took the bus from the airport to the hotel, which was economical by taking a bus card for our stay.
The hotel is pleasant and the reception staff are charming. We didn't have much to do with them because we weren't asking for a lot of service. Just the bedroom and we ate outside to taste the specialties. But there is a restaurant and also a machine with drinks and sweets next to the elevator.
The room was clean, except for a desk drawer, which had a coffee stain on our arrival, but nothing serious.
The bedding was comfortable. Window insulation is a bit lacking because you can hear the street anyway.
The cleaning service was done every day.
We had a very good experience at this hotel. I recommend without problem!
Wishing you a pleasant journey!

Central hotel with parking space right across the street. Still expensive to Park anderen tedious to get around in the City with the Car but YouTube can reach everything in the City NY foot from there

This hotel is located in a perfect location for my most recent stay in Dublin: very close to my daughter's student residence and right next to the busy O'Connell Street, Dublin's main street. I was pleasantly surprised by the Academy Plaza Hotel! Yes, the rooms are a bit dated, but mine was very clean and quiet, the bed was super comfortable and the bathroom had a shower / bathtub. I stayed in 7 different hotels during my European trip and this was the only one that had a bathtub! In addition, I noticed that another reviewer complained about the fact that he needs to place a room key card in a slot near the entrance to turn on the power in the room and that it turned off when he removed it (so they couldn't turn it on) devices while they left for the day). This is how it is done in each of the 7 hotels I stayed in during my recent trip, from Ireland to the United Kingdom to Spain. While it can be annoying for American travelers, it is a brilliant way to conserve energy. You get used to it.

We also take advantage of the hotel bar and grill. It was nice to have a place to leave the lobby when we checked in so late. I was surprised at how tasty the pizza was (especially since I'm originally from Chicago)! Of course, we had cold glasses of Guinness to accompany the pizza!

As we made our reservation directly from their website, breakfast was included for free! It was not my favorite hotel breakfast, but I was surprised at how much they offered. A hot traditional Irish breakfast! The potatoes are hard and not good, but most of everything else was fine, including some delicious cakes. And they have an espresso / cappuccino coffee machine, which makes up for everything.

It is very difficult to complain about anything considering how much we end up paying. They had a winter offer when we went and I paid less than half of what I paid at a different hotel around the corner when we arrived in Ireland at the beginning of our trip. In addition, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and a 747 Airlink Express bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. If I am lucky enough to return to Ireland while my daughter is a student there, I would not hesitate to stay here again!

The hotel was nice, very clean and in a good location. The two negatives were the really rough toilet paper, bring your own if you're used to soft paper . The tv in the room was very small, kinda hard to watch from the bed.

Ok location though there seemed to be a drain odour in the 8mmediate area. Hotel facade needs sprucing. Reception staff wonderfully welcoming. Security lax. No door person. Where lifts state need to use room key to access upper floors, this was not in operation. Corridors tired and need sprucing up. Same with rooms. Cleaning was slapdash, glasses not replaced, or bin emptied.
It's sad to see this once lovely hotel slipping.

I was staying there on a two day business trip last week. The hotel was fine but the wifi was unavailable most of the time which was a huge problem for me as I was depending on it to get some work done after meetings.

The hotel is located perfectly, feeding is normal. If you are lucky and the windows are not going to the central entrance, it will be quiet. If not - the next entrance is a sports bar with all the consequences. Neighbors told that in the evening they saw the fight of drunk girls. In the room kettle, tea, milk and all that. As in all, probably, Irish hotels. Ironing board with iron, like, too. Our room was the minimum size, but we were not going to dance in it. Fine.

Good quality hotel. We had a problem with the heating on arrival but quickly got another room. The hotel is ideally located for visiting Dublin. Very pleasant staff and the agreement with the nearest underground car park (half price) is a strong point as it is complicated to park in Dublin.

Lovely hotel right in the heart of dublin, cozy clean rooms with comfy beds and air conditioning and all you need for a city break hotel. Surrounded by pubs, bars, restaurants and gift shops. You literally walk out the door to dublin city and just 50ft away is the tour buses.
Also does an excellent buffet breakfast.
When I return to dublin this will be were I stay.

Excellent Hotel! Unbeatable situation! In the center, you can walk to all the tourist attractions of the city.
The bus stop to the airport in front of the hotel.
The hotel facilities clean and renovated. The room they gave us, very comfortable and clean and also no noise. The hotel staff very friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet is very rich and complete. 100% recommended hotel! We had a great weekend!

A great place, super good location, everything very close and very nice workers, the truth is that I did not meet anyone who spoke Spanish, but they did everything possible to understand me and help me, very friendly and clean everything! Hotels are the ones that are worth taking for what quality price is great !!

Lovely staff and clean rooms. Wish we had a room with a nicer view, but guess that s what we paid for! Would recommend staying here, nicely close to town but not noisy at the same time. Bar is also lovely for a drink away from the crazy tourist centre.

Super well located, modern room, clean and in reception an excellent service. One fault: you hear everything ... It is not isolated from the noise (you even hear the coughing of the side, how to pull the chain, etc)

Worst hotel in Dublin! Do not stay here! Was woken at 4am due to an alarm they could not fix! Every person in the hotel was woken up from kids to the elderly and had to hang around the lobby at all hours of the morning! Rooms are tiny I might add. Not only this but when we arrived at the hotel the receptionists had a very abusive drunk man held down while the guards were called, me and my girlfriend were genuinely scared for our lives! We paid for a peaceful night away and we got the complete opposite, wish we stayed at home over this! what kind of bartender feeds a man this much drink for him to abuse the other people staying here, staff alone we re just awful and I ve never met a more rude bunch of people in all the places I ve stayed! Absolutely disgraceful.

My daughter and myself stayed here on many occasions in the past.As I had to travel from cork to Dublin for hospital appointments in sept,Oct and Nov,we decided to stay in this lovely hotel again.I can't say enough about the fantastic staff and in particular Seamus on reception. He made every visit so enjoyable with his lovely personality. Will def.book here if in Dublin again.

Staff were so accomidating, breakfast had a great selection, very central/ accessable to all main shopping streets, car parking close by (3mins walk). Yes the rooms are most certainly small but was extremely clean, plenty of towels, beds were very comfortable, TV and kettle in room, what more do you need... as city hotels goes I'll certainly be rebooking for next year. Thanks
