Like many others, I also suddenly received a viole...
Like many others, I also suddenly received a violent reminder from a so-called 'BsGw' - I had not paid! Pay IMMEDIATELY! Fine it! HUP HUP! Otherwise we will throw in INTEREST on it!
So I had never heard of this and even thought it was a scam - that's how bad the website and the letter were. No signatures under the letter, no name or contact person to be found, reports on the internet of fake letters ...
So it turns out, yes, the BsGW does exist, and the first bill never got to me. After further investigation it turned out that somewhere in one of the hundreds of variants on 'mijndigid' there was a PDF file that contained what was going on.
Oh, just an annual tax for water purification, waste treatment, and treatment tax! I would have saved a lot of panic and suspicion if everything had been better arranged, and perhaps in a less coercive and imperative tone!
I don't think a simple mistake / miscommunication is a reason to send such a hard reminder!
I would say to BsGW itself; pay more attention to the 'format' of your letters, and give more opportunities to contact a contact person, case worker, or civil servant. Without this information, the official letters just look like a scam!
