We came to dinner with a gift card we received for Christmas and had forgot to use until now. When we went to pay our bill we were told that the $25 gift card we had was expired in April and we could not use it. We asked did they give the money back to the person that purchased it? Where did the money go? They refused to honor it. That is such a scam, they basicly stole $25 from them. Do not do business with this company.

Food, service, staff, menu, and prices were great, delicious in fact. As for the family environment, Way TOO ACCOMMODATING... Across the restaurant was a family with a non-stop screaming child, whom they let continue to scream; disregarding the entire restaurant of other "paying" customers. After asking my friend to repeat her statements several times, I finally had enough and quite vocally said "What did you say? I cannot hear you over the screaming child". The family, parents? Finally shushed the child a few times and focused on the child to get him/her under control. Oh my gosh! I have no problem with children, it's parents who do NOT monitor them or make them behave that are rude to others!

Hoping Todd Santos sees this, you ordered your meal through Uber, we have a copy if your order and it clearly shows you did not order or pay the 2.00 charge for mashed potatoes. Your issue is with Uber and should be taking up with them, you paid them not the Brownstone. Have a great day.

Continuing to be disappointed since the new ownership. The Brownstone used to be the kind of place that you waited for a table every single time you went in, no matter the night or time. The service was always familiar and top notch and the food was even better. Steaks cut and cooked perfectly, no matter the cut or the doneness. Generous sides seasoned and served just the way you asked. House specialties that any good family restaurant would be lucky to call its own. It was the kind of place for a first date, for hanging out with the boys or with the family, and where you'd not be surprised to see multigenerational groups meeting for good food and a better time.

Sadly, no more. The place is virtually empty, the food mediocre at best, and the service, if you can call it that, is haphazard at best for servers that don't know what they're doing unless you're fortunate to get one of the old guard.

We weren't so lucky tonight. Dinner special of a surf and turf where the same may have been cooked properly, but I wouldn't know because the cut was so bad that I couldn't eat it. The shrimp were good, even if I had to ignore the partial shell that was fried in one. The baked potato was half baked and hard.

The service was just wrong, partially because there was only one server for the entire dining room. She kept loading everyone's food and beverages onto trays and carting them en masse to the dining room and then wandering around serving plate or glass individually, an order of bread here, a bottle of beer there. Four or five trips to get all of our food. And my restaurant manager husband would have cringed at how many times she practically stuck people with her elbows while serving.

It's become clear that there's love here for the tradition of the place, but I'd seriously lost the spirit of what it once was. It's sad.

Hadn't been here for quite a while. Was very pleased to find out it was still a very good place to eat! French onion soup was exactly how I remembered and the BLT sandwich was delicious!

I've been going to the Brownstone regularly for over 20 years and have always loved the place with no bad experiences. We went for lunch 2 weeks ago after not going fit about a year( health reasons) I was extremely disappointed as was everyone with me. The wait staff had no knowledge of the menu, was very slow and at times felt completely ignored. When we ordered, they were out of several things. When I finally decided on a crispy Caesar salad, it came out with a dressing that wasn't Caesar, wedges of lemon in it, when I asked the waiter, he said that's how they made them now...The burger wad ordered medium and came out very dry...just an overall very very bad experience..I'm hoping everyonejust had a off day, I would hate tho think that this was the new normal..and had lost one of my favorite places...

I've been here a handful of times and I loved it every time. Tonight I got the Texas Burger and a cup of french onion soup both of which were wonderful. The proportions have always been impressive I haven't once been able to finish my meal without leftovers. The place is also clean and pretty quiet despite how close the tables are. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

And only $6! Excited to try other menu items. Have orded for pick up and our order was prepared just as we asked. Very happy with the quality and service.

Well even with newer owners the food was still delicious. We had the prime rib which was smoked and very tender, and the perch and shrimp was cooked perfectly cuz fish can easily be overcooked. Nice size pieces of perch and jumbo shrimp. I also love the stir fry they have. Definitely a place to eat.

Went there for dinner, just to be told by their receptionist that it would be a 30-45 minute wait because we had 3 adults, 2 children and a baby, while at least 4 tables sat vacant. We requested being seated at 2 joining tables but they wouldn't because they were in separate sections. Poor management. Won't be back.

We went there the other night. We are from out of town and were visiting. A group of us (11) sat down and was treated like royalty. The owner came up and talked with us for a bit. Just a great atmosphere....Then the food came... Holy Smokes!!! My son's burger was the size of a dogs head. Massive. My wife's prime rib was the absolute best ever. Everything was great. Great people, great service and...... great food. and priced right as well. Next time in Toledo, we'll make sure to go back.

It was a great place to have lunch w my friends. There were 9 of us and we were treated kindly . We put 4 tables together and we all looked over the menu and all found something that we liked. The food was good and was a good amount of food. They were not chincy! There were three we big us w walkers and it was roomy to get around. The bathroom was handicapped accessible and the had handicapped parking which was helpful especially for us who are disabled and have trouble walking. Thank u Brownstone, we will be back.

Wasn t happy with my jigs dinner 3/17/2018, the corn beef was two very thin strips of corn beef, more like a kids portion, and at 10.99 wasn t worth it, most other places it s been piled with corn beef, wasn t worth the price

Yum

Had the top sirloin steak it melted in my mouth compliments to the chef excellently cooked to perfection, was told to have the perch but felt carnivorous that day, but almost positive the perch is just as good for my return trip ! )

Under new ownership. Lunch visit was ok but not up to previous visits. Caesar Salad Wrap with chips and cottage cheese ( lunch special) took 20 minutes to arrive. Issues with new computerized ordering system. If I had to have returned to a job after this lunch break I would have been late even if I had to wrap it up to take back to my desk. Disappointed. Prices increased...soft drink for two...$5.00. kinda ridiculous for about 10 cents worth of soda or tea. Lunch special said $7.50 for salad wrap, chips, and choice of cottage cheese or soup. Onion soup was an up charge...why? Not a fan any longer.

It doesn't look like much from the outside but it nice inside. I gave it a shot since Boston Market had little left to choose from entree wise this late in the evening. That turned out to be a lucky break for me.

The service was prompt and courteous right off the bat and the food was good.
I will definitely return next time I'm in town.

Some of the best food in town for the prices. Great French Onion soup and huge Jumbo Shrimp. There's often a disconnect between the cook and the waitresses if you have specifics with your order but they'll fix it.

Frisches is where a I ate. The name Brownstone Tavern threw me off. Lol
I've never been there, but I'm sure they have awesome service. Please don't take my word though. I have no idea why it showed up as Brownstone Tavern instead of Fricshes. Oh well, hopefully I will actually get to go there someday. Lol

Me and my husband went for dinner on Friday night and my husband s last bite of his salad he bit into some hard plastic he told the bar maid and she said oh that is just a piece of a to go plastic fork and I will give you something off the salad. Well the salad was part of the meal and she only gave $2 off. For one he should have received his meal for free and for two she should have apologized and informed the manager. Our steaks came out and instead of them being medium rare they were rare and they were cheap thin steaks and the bar maid even confirmed that they were cheap because she made a comment that the owner has not served the t bone steaks because he couldn t find cheap ones until now. We will not be going back again!!!
