Best beer in the Netherlands. Especially Zatte and IJwit are really worth tasting. You can also buy their beer to take away and some snacks at the bar. Good atmosphere, but the bar is always filled to the brim and it's hard to find a seat. Great that they renovated the bathrooms recently.

One thing that bothered though. Last time we visited one of us got a dirty glass and when notified the bartender just quickly rinsed it in soap water (?) which was standing in the sink. That seemed a bit unhygienic but maybe its standard practice?

Brouwerij 't IJ is a fantastic brewery, and Amsterdam is proud of it, so their beers are stocked pretty much everywhere. Grocery stores, pubs, climbing gyms. Everywhere. The brewery itself is worth a visit, too it s on the ground floor of a windmill, near IJ, the body of water from which the brewery gets its name. The windmill brewery is near a street called Zeeburgerpad on the Eastern docklands, which makes me think of a grill restaurant with a cozy homely interior.

Just perfect! The beers, incredible !!!!! Fair prices! A super nice atmosphere, friendly waiters and good skewers! Do not expect a great variety of skewers, they have cheeses and cold cuts but everything is very good and at a good price. For beer lovers it is more than recommended!

One of the best places in Amsterdam to enjoy beer and interact with the locals. One of the varieties of beer that is available here is called "Columbus" and the place is quite famous for that. It is quite strong and bitter but definitely worth trying on a trip to Amsterdam.

The brewery in the old mill in the part of Amsterdam, where tourists no longer get. They cook several kinds (strong) and all are great. The local pub has an atmosphere, on Friday evening it was crammed to burst.

The brewery located at the foot of an old mill is easily accessible by tram. The environment is very beautiful, in the center is the double counter where you have to go to make the order, pay and then you can sit on the benches inside or outside. If you want something to eat on the left side of the counter there is a second counter that sells cheese, salami, a combination of the two, smoked sausages, hard-boiled eggs or peanuts, even here you choose, pay and bring to the table. More than to eat here one comes to drink.
I took the beertasting, a taste of their 5 beers that you can also find in supermarkets around Amsterdam.
FLINK, is a light and very fruity pale ale.
NATTE, is a dubble Belgian-style ale made from lightly toasted malts.
Zatte, is a very balanced triple much to hide his 8 degrees.
IJWIT, is a Belgian-style white beer, fresh and fragrant, with marked coriander and lemon scents.
COLUMBUS, is the strongest with its 9 degrees. It's a complex body beer, it starts off sweet and ends bitter, really good.
In general the beers are good, perhaps, according to my personal tastes, a little too delicate, the aromas and flavors are very subtle.

The beer is average, the facility is poor. It is extremely over crowded. But the staff is pitiful. I interacted with three different bartenders and all were unbelievably rude and this is come from someone who has worked on the other side of the counter. I honestly would not recommend this place at all...

One of the last windmill in Amsterdam. And it's a huge one! Well conserved :)
You can also go to their craft beers, they have a special tasting menu you can ask for

One of the last mill in Amsterdam. It is very well preserved, big and beautiful :)
You can also enjoy and drink a beer because the mill has its own brewery. They even offer a menu with several different beers to test

Very nice and cozy experience to have a beer in a real windmill, where the beer is actually brewed. The crowd is always fun and very mixed: you can always find the locals and the expats (just not the fancy-in-a-business-suit the word might bring to mind). The place has been recently renovated, making it more spacious inside and with additional seats. Definitely a plus since the windy rainy weather Amsterdam can offer many times may spoil your "borrel" (Dutch for drinks with friends or colleagues). Although this doesn't depend on the place, if it was always sunny and warm it would be 5 stars straight!

Lovely, a bit crowded, historical beer brewery with a mill on top of the building. Very peculiar! The food is really good, especially if you want to have lunch with some typical dutch cheese and sausage. The beer is amazing, all of them. I suggest to try them all out, as they provide five glasses, each with one of their beers, to have a satisfactory taste test. Highly suggested!

The perfect place to stop by and taste local crafted beers with salami&cheese. It is well known among tourist, so tends to be crowded on pick time. If it is a sunny day enjoy the beautiful beer garden.

Super bar: the atmosphere is great, the servers are friendly and speak English. The decor is great, and the beer very good and inexpensive (even if the glasses are not very large).
We also witness the direct production of beer through the glass door.
I recommend the "beertasting" at 10 , it's great! (5 small glasses of house beers)

The Ij Brewery is definitely worth a visit. It is a "small" brewery with many types of special beer. Everything they brew on site is sold here on tap. The special thing is that all those different beers also taste different. We recommend a set of 5 different beers brewed there. Tours can also be booked here. That is also fun to do. I enjoyed it anyway.
