Great day out with younger children, as long as your expectations accept that it is a smallish inner city zoo not a sprawling Safari park, that said they really do make the most of the space.

Really good zoo. Animals very well looked after and attendants very friendly and informative. Twilight nights particularly good as it's a lot cheaper and they do talks - the seals do tricks too! Cafe has good food but awful service

One of the best zoos I've ever been to. It's not large, but you could easily lose a whole day and not see everything there is to see. The animals are clearly excellently looked after, the grounds are beautiful, the seasonal extras they put on throughout the year are amazing. We were fortunate enough to have membership to the zoo as a gift and visited numerous times throughout the year. A truly amazing place and one I cherish in my favourite city.

Beautiful day out. Great place for all ages. Lots to see. Take a pack lunch though as the food is overpriced. Be careful of vending machines as it didn't provide the product and we couldn't get our money back as we paid by card (bit disappointing).

Spent 6 hours here, staff knowledgeable & f friendly. Great day despite a rainy start, cuppa & cake in The Hide was scrummy. Friend ended up part exchanging her entry ticket for annual membership.

Bristol Zoo has reinvented itself in many ways and it shows the conservation aspect well and I think the seals are in one of the best enclosures I have seen.
Some parts still need a lot of revamping but this does seem to be active in being done.
Tip. Take your own food and drink as the cafe was less than clean nor impressive in what was offered.

What can you say, gotta love Bristol Zoo. The staff work really hard to ensure the animals are happy and well catered for. It's never an ideal situation when you place a wild animal in captivity, but the staff here genuinely care about them and go to great lengths to make sure they are as happy as can be. The Zoo has made lots of alterations to the enclosures to help give the animals more space and better living conditions.

A great place to visit. Good value for money. Some really cool enclosures. The highlights for me were the gorillas and the sea lions. The restaurant served really good vegetarian and vegan food too. Definitely worth a visit.

Went on a Tuesday afternoon in winter. It was perfect as there were lots of indoor animals. It was blissfully quiet at that time. Everything was great! Except the lion enclosure was just to small. It looked really sad.

This is a small zoo with a good range animals to see. Lions, gorillas, penguins and lemurs to name a few.

There are lots of places to get food and drink, and because it is a relatively small zoo, it's easy to get around. It does feel bigger inside than you might think when on the inside!

Parking can be an issue, the main car park fills up quick if you don't arrive early, and surround streets are difficult to park on during busy periods too.

They keep some other larger animals at a different site a few miles away at a different venue, giraffes, hyppo and elephants for example, so you won't see those at the zoo.

All in all, it's worth a visit, but I would recommend not at peak times unless you are first there!

The one way system for the coronavirus means that the flow and otherwise enjoyable day at the zoo is now like a production line. And that detracts from the desire to just sit and watch your favourite animals without feeling like you're stopping the flow of foot traffic.

Did the sunset special. The que was massive considering it was online bookings only. But we got in after 15 minutes waiting. Had to park on the streets as all the parking was taken.

The zoo was rather small and we completed it and went back to the parts which were busy in just over an hour.

Not a lot of the animals were out, but the ones which were out looked lovely.

Definitely worth a visit.

Unfortunately, we arrived rather late on a rainy day. All the animals had retired to their dens and lairs and we saw very little. This is a rather small zoo and the primates that we did see looked unhappy. A clean and pretty place but rather sad for those who respect and love animals.

We had an amazing time. I've been poorly lately but managed to walk around for 2hrs and my little boy who's 6 loved it. We spoke to a lovely Lady about the Gorilla's. We just loved Jock and my little boy can't stop talking about him and wants to return in the summer holiday's. Another lady in the Aquarium was also very informative. It was a wonderful day. Thank you.

Fantastic for a family day out. Lots of well-cared for, unusual and interesting animals to observe (eg. the sand cat, gila monsters and fruit bats, which were among my favourites). The entrance and gift shop was extremely crowded but the rest of the zoo was not. My younger sister and I both loved the animal show (especially the raccoon and the skunk) which was entertaining and amusingly.

Well worth a visit. Very well planned and designed with lots of areas you can get up close with the animals. Nice variety of animals and creatures with well thought out ways to see and interact. The kids loved Gorilla Island but weren't too keen when in the Fruit Bat enclosure.
