Try the turtle soup during Restaurant Weeks and it was delicious. The site is quite formal, such as for a work dinner or elegant date. Bring cash for valet parking. The treatment of all the staff was quite attentive and excellent.

We came here to celebrate our engagement and enjoy a nice dinner with friends, but it turned in to a waiting game of bad service. Constant empty glasses, an hour before we could put our appetizer order in, and feeling completely ignored that required flagging down just to put in orders. Waiter was clearly more concerned with a specific table which left us with a very poor experience. Manager tried to make it up with espresso sized shots of turtle soup. Overall, the meal was above average. Entire dinner lasted 3 hours on a Monday night that ended with our dessert being served well after closing time. Our reservation was for 7pm. Just further proof that white table cloth restaurants should be finished.

Everyone enjoyed their meals and he service was great. I had the grilled fresh fish (Gulf red fish) and also the seafood gumbo. Both were delicious, maybe better than the last time we were here a number of years ago. We were a bit pinched for time, so we had to skip out without the banana foster (so good). Highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions.

his is my premiere place to be seen. I enjoy it each and every time I go. I especially save this place for birthday and have even rented out the 2nd floor for such a SPECIAL occasion. Live music, romantic ambiance, good drinks, and of course the food is great. I cannot wait for another visit. Just typing this review makes we want to trek downtown right now. This 5 star rating is earned!!!

The venue is beautiful. I've only been there during the day but I can imagine at night it must go to another level. It feels intimate and warm, like you are entering someone's elegant home. They have a bar area in another room that feels like the "living room" and a walled off back patio which is surrounded by foliage.

I've been once for a lunch a few days before Christmas in 2018 and again a few days ago to a banquet hosted upstairs. Service was better at the banquet than the lunch (we lost our waiter a few times at the lunch) but the taste of the food never really impressed me either time. The food was not bad, I did not have any real "complaints," and the presentation was nice, but the chicken at the banquet didn't have much flavor to me and the beef medallions and mash potatoes was better but in comparison, but I expected more. I think I enjoyed the novelty of sitting in the restaurant more than actually eating the food. Maybe the desserts are more impressive.

I took my wife here for Valentine's Day dinner, and it was AWESOME. The ambiance is phenomenal, and our server (Manuel) was excellent. The prices are fair for the quality of food that's being served. My wife had the Crab Cakes, while I had the Ribeye. Both were cooked extremely well, and both were exquisitely seasoned. Moreover, we chose the Bacon Braised Greens and the Lemon Scented Cream Corn as our sides (a la' carte), respective. The dinner wine was also good, and I am not a huge wine drinker. I could go on and on, but I am sure that you get the picture. The ONLY issue, though small, was that the serving staff seemed confused about which orders for which tables. Aside from that minor, and I stress "minor" observation, the meal, the service, and the ambiance was A1. For those who wear glasses, you will need just a little extra light to view the menu, due to ambient atmosphere of the restaurant. Finally, I highly recommend this restaurant, and I would ABSOLUTELY eat her again. Please, enjoy. Bon appetit!!!

Creole and the scene here is better than most. Arrived at seven, it wasn't crowded. The service here is above par. The prices are good for what you get. I can see why they have a lot of good reviews.

Brennan's of Houston impressed my party and I on everything: delicious food, excellent service and elegant location. We were setup in the bar area (I couldn't get in the main dining area wearing shorts) but we received the same full menu experience and almost a personal waiter for us. I want to stress how our server was attentive to our needs (i.e. getting us some off the menu chopped fruit for our baby). We enjoyed our Sunday brunch and we are looking forward to trying their dinner items next time we are in town.

We have never had a bad meal here. Great place for Birthdays, Anniversaries, parties or just great food. Plus, it s food from my hometown! We dined on Short Ribs, you don t need a steak knife for these and the creamed corn that comes with them was almost like a dessert. Also, had the Golden Tile Ponchartrain which was amazing as well! Don t miss out on the (free)Pralines on your way in and out!

Mediocre service far bellow what one would expect for a Restaurant bearing the name Brennan's. They seemed to be having kitchen issues. But even apart from that glasses sat empty for long stretches, and staff had to be reminded of orders. With a team of two waiters, this is hard to reconcile even giving the benefit of the doubt to them having problems back of house. You go to a place of this caliber expecting a certain level of service. I highly doubt the New Orleans location would ever permit what appeared to be an out of control Sunday brunch rush. We clearly saw multiple trays of food and drinks sitting in a hallway getting cold, and noticed other patrons raising issue with staff, who appeared to be arguing. A huge disappointment.

May 9, 2014 - Very Classy!!
The food was wonderful but the service was not. Well, they just made up for that and have given us a wonderful story to tell. The manager and our waiter from Jerry's birthday dinner just left our house! They came here to personally apologize. This personal approach is their policy when apologizing. They came dressed for work and delivered 2 gold foil wrapped boxes of pralines - a beautiful arrangement of flowers - a silver engraved cup with an invitation to return as their guests for a future dinner. WOW , Brennan's this is a very classy apology! We will be very happy to return and enjoy your wonderful food and service!
