Great atmosphere and good food. A memorable night...
Great atmosphere and good food. A memorable night with my son for Thanksgiving.
Great atmosphere and good food. A memorable night with my son for Thanksgiving.
Last night at Brennan s was the BEST dining experience we ever had in Houston! We went there based on a seafood recommendation that was given to my wife. While she loved the grilled fish, I have to testify about the smoked rib!
The chef did an amazing job such that the rib that I had at Brennan s surpasses everything that I ever had in Dallas! It was SO impressive: Well-seasoned, smoky and sweet.
The grits and greens were also the best I ve ever had, and the wine was spot on! My wife raved about the Super Tuscan, and I LOVED that my Pinot Noir was slightly chilled.
I m too embarrassed to comment about our desserts, because it would make us sound like gluttons.
The service was impeccable! Our server (Willem) was remarkable, and the sommelier (Rich) was extremely knowledgeable and helpful to us. The restaurant was fully-booked, but Willem and Rich interacted with us and made us feel that we were the only ones there. The bartender even pitched in. (I think his name was Ensley.)
I like a lot of restaurants in Houston, but I give Brennan s my highest recommendation. I m glad I finally gave it a try. Going forward, Brennan s will be at the top of my list when traveling to Houston.
Brennan's is a Houston institution and a timeless dining experience. If you like your food lit on fire, table-side, don't miss the opportunity to try the Shrimp Chippewa for dinner and the Bananas Foster for desert.
A large group of friends met for dinner and a birthday celebration. The service was excellent and our meal was delicious. We rode to the Hobby Center on their shuttle. When we returned our waiter brought out little bags of pralines. It was special.
I love this place always quality food & service. I had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here. This place has a good atmosphere. Food is like a restaurant in Louisville I loved.
Fantastic food & excellent service. You will never be disappointed with anything on or off the menu. Great ambiance. You know you are in for a treat when you walk in the door & smell the delicious aromas coming from the kitchen! Deserts will easily satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. The wine list is extensive. Been enjoying meals here long before the remodeling after the storm.
I asked this restaurant to make a large reservation to host my husband's 50th birthday party. We were not disappointed. They requested us to order off of reduced menu however everybody was thoroughly thrilled with their options. The food was elegantly presented and tasted delicious. Even though there were a lot of us we still felt that the service never skipped a beat and each one of us was expertly taken care of.
Great food and great service. Gumbo and Banana foster are really good. Don;t forget to prepare $5 for the valet
Excellent food and service. They have a nice jazz group that plays on Sundays as well.
Great Sunday...you want to celebrate your Birthday at this restaurant!!
Great food in historic restaurant . Very nice experience.
A family favorite for birthdays, before theatre and Sunday brunch. Great food. Impecable service and southern hospitality.
I love their fish dishes. The menu is phenomenal. No restaurant I ve been to has that type of menu. If you are in the mood for superb foods that are only served in this restaurant and ready for awesome desserts and super customer service then I encourage you to try it. You won t regret it. I ve been there for many lunches and dinners. This place is impressive. You can impress a partner, a spouse, a friend, or even a family member. This restaurant is truly exquisite and top quality all the way around.
Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. Vasy to miss when driving!
A New Orleans staple transplant from the highly respected Brennan's family of restaurants. A must for excellent ambiance, service, and New Orleans food.
This place represents everything that is 5 stars. High end experience, food, drinks and service.
Very good place with nice restaurant staff with good food, anyone can enjoy this place
Excellent tasting held by Remy Martin and the bar staff of Brennan's. Thank you, Richard Middleton.
Delicious Food . I will definitely be dining here again. Great friendly employees and excellent service.
Had a bigger expectation of service and quality. Is it hard to poach an egg? Maybe if you are eating at the Pump, Choke and Puke, but at brennan's?
The waitress got all butt hurt when I mentioned it. Otherwise, it was fine but not spectacular.
An amazing restaurant. The staff are all very hospitable people. Our waiter was the best, he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant, the food, and knew all the in and outs of the drinks. He was able to recall many of the previous seasonal drinks and knew exactly how they were made. The food was very good, there are a wide variety of different meats. The presentation of the food and especially the banana foster were tantalizing. The atmosphere was comfortable yet elegant. They have great people who can make great food, it's definitely a keeper.
Wonderful crab cake entree and tableside Bananas foster. Wonderful atmosphere and staff
Birthday dinner and Hou. Restaurant Weeks menu... excellent filet mignon, potatoes and mushrooms. Bananas Foster for dessert! All yummy! Great service!!
The food was great, they served it differently, the atmosphere was good. The seats weren't so much comfortable, but not that bad. I wish they had some drinks like team or coffee as desert as well. They have very good and un-usual aprons. waitresses are very helpful. Highly recommend this place
Wonderful food and a good atmosphere. Excellent place for business lunches.
Brennan's is always awesome. I've been to the original in NOLA and I had high expectations. It was delicious, we went for Restaurant Week and had a great time. And if your ever there you should def try the bananas Foster, they still cook it table-side like the original
Always a treat when were in the South. I recommend trying the turtle soup for brunch. So good! Service is outstanding.
Great place for occasion. They serve only the best and the authentic food that money can buy. Our experience has been based on years of service experience spanning over a decade or two. Been there for several meeting officially and for personal and small family celebrations. The wine collection is ideal for my taste. Mix and match with any entree and it goes well. Having problem with selection of food or wine then consult with your waiter who are almost always knowledgeable. The valet staff to the table cleaners are all impecable.
Beautiful restaurant with friendly people and amazing food. When I drink my whiskey on the rocks, I prefer a single, crystal clear cube of ice. Brennan s pay attention to the little details.
creole, yeah, awesome. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. I look forward to a return visit. Food is similar to a cafe in Indianapolis I liked.
Absolutely Amazing! We had Sunday brunch to celebrate our anniversary. The steak and eggs are phenomenal! The cocktails were on point and other menu items were impressive as well. The jazz quartet was a wonderful addition. The atmoshpere, energy, and service in harmony with the delicious cuisine were well worth what I felt to be an extremely reasonable price.
It's Brennan's. What do you expect? Impeccable service, great food, amazing space.
I did not think Brennan's
complied with the 75% statewide restaurant capacity requirements nor the social distancing requirements.
Excellent dining experience, great service, free amazing pralines! The atmosphere is elevated and sophisticated. The food has a distinctively Cajun influence. The food however is not the most creative in Houston. It continues to be an amazing value for fine dining in Houston
The environment was incredible. My boyfriend also spoiled me with a full array of desserts, and I do mean the full menu of desserts. Highly recommend the Bananas Foster.
Great food and service, my wife and I enjoyed it very much on our 1st year anniversary.
Went here for Houston Restaurant Week and it was such a wonderful experience! From the ambience, to our waiter, and the food! The food was delicious! Had to pocket some pralines on the way out. Overall, such a great experience and great night. This is our go to spot from now on for our anniversary.
Pricey, swanky atmosphere, superb service, excellent food. A Houston icon.
One of my preferred spots for creole. this place does it for me. the staff was very sociable and kind. prices are reasonable i would say.
Very quaint unique environment. Awesome appetizers, escargot, calamari and steaks with excellent service staffs.
Dinner doing HRW was outstanding. Shrimp remoulade, followed by blackened red fish w creole sauce. Enjoyed wine. This was 5 stars. However, tried their Sunday Brunch. Husband had 5 star eggs Benedict. Unfortunately, I had shrimp & grits. Best described as nasty. Grits were tasteless except for overloaded goat cheese which was separating with yellow fat over the pretty shrimp. I love good stone ground grits but this was not. Just greasy, fishey. Shrimp were pretty to look at but absorbed goat cheese flavor. Not pleasant. Next time will order off menu from creole fish choices. Lovely restaurant with good creole choices. Beware shrimp & grits.
On 3/9/19 my wife and I went to Brennan s for our first time to celebrate her birthday. I was really impressed by the elegant yet relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Our waiter Greg did an excellent job and made her birthday one she will never forget. The food was delicious and the service was great. Thanks to the staff at Brennan s. We will definitely be going back soon!
Wonderful atmosphere, amazing service, and fantastic food! Everyone I was with thoroughly enjoyed their evening as well as their dinner.
My friend and I had brunch here for the first time and loved it. Awesome service and really nice atmosphere. I don't know who Justin is, as in what his position is, but he was awesome as well. He made our experience much more pleasurable than it already was. Of course the food was good, as well. I'm from New Orleans and I'm very cautious when ordering certain dishes that are originally from my hometown and state. I tried their gumbo. It was the best I ever had at any restaurant in Houston.
Food, drinks and service...top shelf as usual. Mr. Marcelino took great care of us.
Not the Brenners at Bayou. Horrible service and food.
Horrible service! I even didn't want to spend time writing this review, but thought I would let other people know how bad the experience was for us. Trying a McDonald's is better than going to this place.
Went today with family members to celebrate two July birthdays. Our waiter was very personable and professional. All our food was delicious, presented attractively. We enjoyed the brunch and the lagniappe pralines. We also enjoyed the 5 piece combo that played old standards so well .
My favorite place to celebrate any special occasion. My favorite is their brunch, on Saturday and Sunday morning, it's wonderful.
An institution! Best food, best service, and best atmosphere.
Great place and very cozy. Not to mention the food is delicious! We were there for a retirement brunch in an area off the main dining area. We were well taken care of!
What more can I say about Brennans? Always top notch! Both the service and the food! Highly recommend!
This is fun restaurant! I especially like that they have a theater bus for transport to some downtown's events. The waiter will time your meal and notify you when it's time to get on the bus. They also have delicious pralines to eat on your way there or save to eat during intermission. This restaurant specializes in upscale cajun fare, everyone raves on the brunch and turtle soup. I liked too that they have a three course vegetarian brunch option.
Food was good, not what you expect from reading the menu.
Excellent dinner for our group of 12 with great service.
So this place is so so for the price. I have been to steak restraunts much better than this, and cheaper restraunts much better than this. Not worth the money.
Went there for a friends birthday party, and was given a 3 course menu without any cost associated. I assumed it was some special menu with everything being the same price. When I got the bill found out it was not. So I am a bit peeved about that.
The food overall - turtle soup was okay. Sherry was too strong with the soup, and not the best I have had. Got the steak, and it was okay. I have had much much better steaks. Sauce was good though. Then I had the banana fosters and was really excited about it, but it was probably the worst banana fosters I have ever had. First they decided to cook everyone's together, so when you are making 5+ orders you need to adjust how you cook it. So the cooking time wasn't enough, so the bananas were not soft at all. I am not sure if they were even really ripe. Then due to the amount of alcohol and flames, when they attempted to put cinnamon on it, it would just burn up. So not much in the way of cinnamon.
So, food was okay, but not worth the price paid for it. Much rather go to a better restaurant when wanting to eat somewhere nice.
My date took me here for Valentine's Day, and it was one of the most fun experiences I've had. The wait staff was very kind and helpful, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so romantic. Cant wait to try the place again, next time on a non-holiday!
Woah, one of my favorites for sure. Everything on the menu is beautiful and absolutely delicious! Can t wait to get back in there
We went there for my wife's birthday... we had a great time! However, when I made reservations I did not know that you have to tell them you want to sit in the "big Brennans chairs". Make sure you ask for that to provide for a more private atmosphere.
The Turtle soup was amazing, and the escargot crape was out of this world. For the main dish we stuck wuth what we knew... Nothing is better than the Shrimp and Grits!! For desert it was bananas foster made right in front of us. Made with very stong villina beans
All in all, the atmosphere, the food, and the service were great!
creole here - delicious. the service here is outstanding. prices are fair. they have a lot of positive reviews for a reason.
You people need to learn how to make a praline ! There s no flavor , and taste like a bag of sugar !
Lovely place, very great atmosphere. Good quality food except the chicken breast, it was super dry. The dessert was an art piece. Reasonable prices with fast service. Free valet parking which it is amazing.
WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE TO EAT ! Me and my girls had an amazing time! our server, the food, the place itself, ALL AMAZING ! We will definitely be back to eat here
Outstanding everything but especially the shrimp & grits
Excellent creole, a fine dining air about itself, and an expansive bar selection as well. If you're planning on coming here, please do everyone a favor and hire a babysitter until you can teach your munchkins proper etiquette.
This place is madhouse packed during lunch. I absolutely enjoy Creole food. I occasionally return with the hopes of getting a taste of what is drawing the crowd because it is so close to where my friend live. Maybe I have found the one place in town that caters to folks with burnt out taste buds and no idea of what good Creole food tastes like.
Standard for fine dining that every other restaurant needs to live up to. Worth it, my favorite spot in Houston.
Excellent service and excellent food. An enjoyable way to spend a special occasion.
We had our 5 year anniversary dinner here and we were mesmerized by the amazing service they provided. We usually eat here about once a year on special occasions and we never think twice about where to go. They truly make you feel special and provide the same service to everyone that walks in through those doors. The kitchen had a little mishap with our order but the waiter and manager wen't above and beyond to make the situation right. Don't forget to leave space for the bananas foster. Not only is it a good table side show, but its one of my favorite desserts.
One of my fav locations for tasty creole. super place to meet and chat with coworkers.
