As long as I live in Denver, I will only go here for shoes. Awesome experience. Totally changed my game.

After having a terrible experience with the manager at the Cherry Creek store, I called BRC in Boulder. I initially spoke with Keaton who could not have been nicer and more understanding. I followed up with Jackie a few days later, and purchased my shoes which she shipped to me the same day. In short, these two people were kind, most helpful, and have won my long term business. They clearly know how to treat their customers. I give them 5 Stars(They deserve 10!), and highly recommend you shop at their store. It will be very difficult to find a better one.
Great selection, knowledgeable staff, and taking all proper COVID precautions at Boulder Running Company.
I went in and worked with Maria who listened to what I was looking for, my running style, and what I look for in a shoe. She brought three options and two insoles and we rotated through ensuring I found the proper fit. She told me what I should feel and how each shoe varied from one another.
They also had a good sale in the shop! Would definitely go back for future shoe needs!
I was nervous to come here because I'm fat and was afraid I wouldn't be taken seriously as a beginning runner, but the staff was very friendly and professional and treated me with as much respect as anyone else. I got shoes fitted to my gait and when I need new shoes, socks, or anything else, I will certainly return here!
They always take great care of me and always find what I need.
Found what we were looking for, big thanks to the lady that helped with our twins a twin herself!! thank you, 100% recommended.
Staff was more than helpful, they measured my foot and brought out 20+ pairs, but many they supplied did not work because my instep is larger than normal. After experiencing another stores care in understanding what pinched, areas that are tight, and skip lacings to prevent pressure. I probably won't go back to Boulder Running Co.
They have a wide selection, but the team wasn't knowledgeable enough for large feet or unique. The experience became a, here try this one.
Very nice selection of gear. Prices are insane,, but the inventory was all very high quality.
Boulder's foremost running shop. Good.customer service with knowledgeable staff. Carry good products for all type of running styles and terrains. They help analyze your running style and pick the right gear for you.
Very helpful, not pushy. Found my new trail shoes with no issues.
I continue to be disappointed in the direction of BRC. The lack of service, sense of entitlement and arrogance is a real turn-off when I consider shopping here. I ve bought probably 30 pairs of shoes from this location over the years but they are losing my business.
It pains me to write a mediocre review after years of going to BRC and getting good service. But, unfortunately, our last trip was disappointing. Both my wife and I went in looking for new running shoes. Neither of us were even given the offer to get a fit or get on the treadmill. We were simply shown a few pairs of shoes and didn t feel that the salesperson really listened to our needs. I, particularly was clear that I felt I was in need of advice on my pronation but again, really no input or offer to help me assess my stride on the treadmill.
My wife did end up buying a pair of shoes (basically the same as what she had previously had and now regrets it). I did not and ended up getting better service and a fit at a local competitor. So it worked out.
I can say that their prices were not too bad compared to the competition and not too much more than online although with Boulder tax that certainly is part of the equation.
Anyway, I hope this was a rare experience and again we have had plenty of previous experiences that were great.
This is an excellent store. Superb service, and the group runs are really fun! You even get free stuff after the runs.
Very friendly staff and really helpful. Quick to help you when you walk in the door or leave you alone.
Great selection of shoes and running accouterments.
Boulder Running Company is the place to go if you need new running shoes - they do an incredibly thorough job of fitting you for sneakers, watching you run for fit and stride, and evaluating your gait. I always feel taken care of there - run in for new shoes!
great selection and friendly, helpful, & knowledgeable staff!
Awesome staff! Very helpful and thorough. Made sure I was getting the right shoe and felt good about the experience. They are able to do a gate analysis in the store and really make you feel good about the show you choose. Also very informative about local events going on.
Great place! Has very knowledgeable and kind employees.
Went In to get some new runners 2 weeks bf the bolder boulder, and even brought in my last pair of asics as a reference. what I got recommended as the only product they had close to my reference pair was a $149 pair of what seemed to be neutral(not even close to the reference) runners which didn't even last me 3 months at 10% of normal use. I really just felt like I was being shepherded/rushed out the door with the most expensive pair they had been trying to get off the shelf or out of the stock room. Couldn't return the purchase later as I went out of town for a month + the day after the race. I understand that models of shoes vary greatly over releases, but their recommendation was way off the mark. For a business that prides itself on putting the customer in the right shoe, this has to be unacceptable.
Amazing service and products. They have what is best for you in mind. Good prices as well.
Mike was extremely helpful! It was clear from the beginning he knew his stuff. I m very happy with my new shoes!
Didn't have my size (14) for trail runners, but staff was nice and attentive.
We stopped here during a day trip to Boulder while on vacation in the greater Denver area and really liked the store's product selection! We ended up buying a shirt and some hydration tablets, so can't say how the shoe purchase experience is but overall this store had a really good variety of running gear and related supplies.
These guys are the biggest jerks I ever encountered in any reputable chain shoe store! I purchased a pair of Altra Escalantes at the Littleton store. The guy at the Littleton store seem to really take a lot of time to help me and I respected the service there. As of now ,this review is solely for the BOulder store. However, the guy at Littleton store told me all Boudler Running Company's are connected and that I could go to any store and make returns and any store could help me wiht any issue. WRONG!!! VERY WRONG!
The pair of shoes I bought ended up hurting my toe very badly. After wearing them for just a few hours the night I bought them , I woke up early in morning in agonizing pain. I tried wearing again the next day with inserts, but my pain got worse. IT turned out the stiff toe spring in the shoe squeezed the nerve or impinged the joing capsule of my interphalangeal joint in my big toe. I was in so much pain I couldn't walk for like 3 days and I am still recovering and had to go to podiatrist and get x-rayed. Well, it was a good learning experience about shoes I would not buy!
However, I could say the bad shoes were an honest mistake and I don't hold it against the guy who helped me pick them. What really makes my blood boil is the fact that the guy at the Littleton store said I could return the shoes at any store within 30 days and he even encouraged me to wear them all day and even outside. He said Boulder Running Company has a guaranteed 30 day return policy and that applies to wearing the shoes both indoors and outdoors. However, I only wore the shoes outside for 2 minutes and only wore the things for 6 hours total. They hurt my toe so bad. The shoes are in brand new shape.
So, I went to the Boulder store and the seedy employee says that the shoes are on sale, therefore I can only exchange them and they do not accept returns. WOW!! Bait and Switch to the extreme! He ended up talking to his manager and said sorry they cannot return the shoe. I ended up buying a shoe from another store and didn't want an exchange. He said I would have to go back to the Littleton store and talk to the guy there to sere why he said I was able to return them.
Let's just say the way Boulder Running Company is operating is nothing short of criminal and I am considering filing a consumer complaint with city or county of Boulder, who I hope could take legal action against this fraudulent company. If a store is going to tell you they will accept returns at any store (never did I hear anything about I had to go back to that store) and you pay $100 for the shoe you would not expect them to try to pull some bait and switch scheme against you! Very horrible way for such a large company to operate! Seriously, these guys should be sued!
So, I will attempt to return the shoes to Littleton location, but I am really upset with the way this company operates. If the LIttleton location doesn't accept the return, I will definitely pursue whatever legal options available. I am assuming the guys at the Littleton location will make good on their promise, but its worth standing up and fighting companies like this who would extort money out of customers with bogus return policies they don't uphold.
The guys at this Boulder store are the lowest of the lowest. Let's just say I will never ever buy another damn thing at Boulder Running Company! Seriously, be very cautious at shopping at this store and do not believe them about any return policies or any kind of promises they may make you. These guys are very deceptive.
I was shocked, because the people at the Littleton store seemed friendly. When I called the Littleton store he told me he was shocked and that Boulder Running Company does allow unconditional returns for 30 days at all location and said he was going to talk to the manager. Man, speaking of a company that is very poorly managed and operated!
There are lots of shoe stores in Boulder and Denver area, run away (no pun intended) from this one!
Best place to buy shoes in boulder. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and every shoe I have gotten from them over the years has fit perfectly and performed well.
Very friendly staff. Reasonably priced. They even did an exchange for a pair of Brooks I bought thats the tread came off of. They may over prescribe over pronation support shoes though.
One of the best places in the city to get a pair of shoes or more. Also, here's a helpful tip - Ask for Ryan. He is one of the most helpful people I've come across in the recent years.
Terrible Place!!!! They used to return shoes. But now they won't if it was only worn one time!! I wore the shoes only twice before my feet hurt so bad I couldn't walk on them (which was only an hour). Also wish they had told me about and the return policy when I had bought the shoes. The service sucks. Save your money and go somewhere else.
I'm pretty frustrated with my experience here.
I was recently diagnosed with a foot issue and came looking a supportive pair of shoes. I would later learn from my podiatrist that the zero-drop, wide toe box shoe I was sold was a poor choice. No worries, I thought, the salesman told me the return policy was that as long as I came back within 30 days, I could exchange my shoes for store credit, and if they were still sellable, I could even get my money back. Cool!
I went in tonight and had a great experience with a knowledgeable salesmen, but when I went pay, I was informed that I had been communicated the return policy incorrectly. They simply cited company policy.
Turns out they will only take shoes in sellable condition. Mine, unfortunately, had a visible scuff on the bottom from 2 weeks of ware and were not returnable. They gave me a 20% discount on my new shoes as a consolation, but I'm overall pretty perturbed that I'm stuck with a $150 pair of shoes that aren't right for my foot
Next time I'll just buy my shoes on Sierra for half the price.
This place has too many shoes, SERIOUSLY!!! OMG!!! It makes everyone in town look retarded. You guys should have more stores with hats in them, FOR REAL!!!!!! OMG
Rudest most untrained service employees I ve ever encountered. Employees were even contradicting each other re store return policy. I ll stick to buying my shoes elsewhere for cheaper.
Thanks for the reply but the problem is that your kind attitude in your review reply is not demonstrated in the store by your employees in the first place. Looking at other reviews, there is clearly a common thread regarding your customer service. It s much easier these days to just order shoes on amazon or wherever and do a painless return with them. To be competitive, your type of store has to be top notch in customer service. And it s plainly not.
Awesome running store. The staff are super-friendly and knowledgeable and I'm shocked at how competitive the prices are, especially on gels, socks, & sneakers. One of the employees cured my arch pain by video-ing me while I ran and putting me in Hokas. Now I save all my purchases for when I'm in town!
Caitlin was awesome! Spent at least 1.5 hours with us. Hubby has very bad knees to the point that walking and getting up has become hard, falls A LOT! She evaluated, ask lots of question, and actually listened. She considered numerous options did not hesitate to give her honest opinion yet let him make up his mind on his own. Best. Purchase. EVER. With his new Hokas He walked around almost pain free, could get immediately up and out of the car without balancing and flopping back down. Got some inserts for the work shoes too and that has seemed to help so far as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you have any special needs to gain better gait, balance, and stability! We did spend more then expected but only because of inserts and some moisture resistant socks which help as well! Thank you Caitlin you have made his life much easier! So happy we came in!
I was only there to buy a gift card for a sports person in my life. As a large woman, I felt a bit out of place, though folks often don't realize that large folks need good running shoes also.
Perfect place to buy running shoes, clothes or other complements. Also, every Wednesday they do a funniest fun run in Boulder
I am definitely not a runner, but I know these guys and gals are good at customer service.
I ve bought shoes for myself and two kids here for six years. Went in the other day and tried on a pair of shoes that had obviously been used. I asked for a new pair, salesman said they didn t have others in my size so I said I d pass... he yelled AWESOME right in my face, grabbed the shoes and walked away. That s not normal or ok on any level. Unbelievable. Last time I ll ever shop there and will encourage others to avoid as well.
Super helpful and friendly. Being from out of town, they helped with some info on some trails I wanted to run in the area.
The service was great and we had to order online as I have extra wide feet but our helper put it on standard by accident.. simple mistake but other then that great service. May not have known 4e was only on the black shoes. I did not know I had extra wide until I came to this store.
I made my first and only visit ever here during the last week of March 2019. I needed BRC's help either repairing or replacing a pair of running shoes that would be needed on the journey home for a full marathon on 3/30/19 (Wamego, KS - Wicked Marathon). Who knew that running shoes might not be the best shoes for travelling up and down the Manitou Incline and the Flatirons? (I had a pair of Salomon Men's Speedcross 4 CS Trail Runner in one of my travel bags - but strangely decided against using them - a decision for which I'm still shaking my head in disbelief.)
Annnnywayyyy, the sales person (twenty-ish female) who helped me was very knowledgeable and direct. So welcomed - to not have to struggle through terms and specifications and confusion (as you are likely to encounter at a large general sporting goods store.) No, Boulder Running Company seems to know, at least with my quick interaction and purchase here, their running shoes! Beautiful! Competency. Love it!
And, to my great delight, they not only had my shoe (Saucony Ride ISO) and my size, which is always challenging (12.5 men's) they also had the color I like and get this - it was on sale - equal to or less than a stinkin' online price. Amazing.
My salesperson was quick, professional, educated on my purchase and needs and hooked me up. She solved the problem for me while I was on vacation, and far from home base, and I was able to complete my marathon in comfort and style. (These shoes are amazing - I'm a 225lb guy, and only had 48 hours of sightseeing/walking to break them in before putting them to the test of 26.2 miles of snow and rain - but my dogs were quite happy - no foot issues whatsoever - in basically a completely new pair of shoes. That's a testimony to Saucony, I realize, but the nice people at Boulder Running Company had EXACTLY what I needed, when I needed it. BLAM! In a Universe that seems to trick you every time you turn around, it's nice to have someone getting your back once in awhile. Thanks BRC!
While the staff member we worked with was patient with us, we weren't able to get as much insight from him as we'd hoped. Came here instead of buying online/elsewhere so someone knowledgeable could lay out the basics for us on finding a proper fit for our shoes/ the mechanics behind our different options but we left feeling like we'd learned nothing new and resorted to buying online.
Jim really took the time to help me fit into a great shoe that already has my low back and knee feeling better. I feel like I'm moving taller and stronger. He recorded how my feet move on the treadmill with my old shoes to help analyze my step and did the same with the new shoes to see if the correction was good. I feel so much better.
Really helpful staff that sat down with me and analyzed my feet and gait, educated me on the best options for inserts and had me try out multiple shoes to find the best fit. He was never pushy about making a purchase or trying add things in. I have really flat feet & do a lot of standing and walking, so it's important to me to find a good shoe that will add support but still be comfortable. I'm really happy I stopped in today & made a purchase
