Nick was brilliant at check in so friendly and courteous went above and beyond in customer service the room was spacious the hotel in a fantastic location for transport etc we will definitely be back wonderful few days in Boston many thanks to all at the hotel will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends in the UK

Good location close to downtown and to the Boston Commom Garden. Good accommodations, helpful and attentive staff, always willing to help. It is an iconic hotel in Boston and known for hosting all American presidents on their visits to the city.
Hotel with small rooms; confusing but quick reception; good breakfast.
A dated hotel, that needs to catch up to modern times. The room was tiny and not that well maintained with a very noisy heater. There are probably much nicer places to stay in Boston. The only thing going for it is the location.
Fine services, room on the small side but comfortable. Unloading and loading baggage is very difficult unless you use the concierge service. Otherwise parking is in a nearby parking garage. Pricey in general as you would expect for a location near the Boston Common.

A busy and central located hotel. Rooms are not big are OK. TV is huge! Shower very tiny. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

When I was picking up my stored luggage at the lobby, one of the bellman with a shaved head told me to find my luggage myself in the storage room and asked me for tips! He didn t even provide the service! It s ridiculous!

My wife and i stayed here to meet with family and attend a concert. When we walked into the lobby we were absolutely stunned by how tasteful and elegant it was. The entire facility was renovated and they did a wonderful job. The rooms were a bit small, but they were very well appointed. Netflix and Chromecast in every room! I highly recommend staying here if you are coming to Boston. Shockingly low rates, friendly and accommodating staff and a beautiful, tasteful atmosphere

Beautiful hotel right in downtown. Just make sure not to get the cozy room if your traveling with someone or have kids. It s INCREDIBLY small. But good if just solo.
Spent weekend in Boston, room was small and expensive. Lobby was really cool with a fun vibe. Food was excellent.
The room was nice and well kept but the TV did not function at all and after an hour long call to try and fix it nothing was done and it remained broken for the rest of the stay. Besides that it was a good stay.

It is in a perfect location. It has access to Beakon Hill, the Boston Commons and historical streets such as Boyleston and Newbury. Good service and clean rooms.
Pulled up front of the hotel and the busboy mo starts banging on my driver side window. Open palm banging, I m stunned, in disbelief. Roll the window down and he says no parking here move along. I tell him I m checking in to the hotel, he says then give me your keys. After the window banging I simply didn t want to deal with this person so I said no. He said if you don t give me your keys you have to move. I ignored him and proceeded to remove my belongings from the car. The man was aggressive for no reason. After a long drive you re banging on my window and yelling at me. Anyways I go up to my room and it s the size of a shoebox. I ve been to hotels in Europe bigger than this hamster cage. Never again.
Very fancy and pleasant looking hotel. Room was kinda small but very modern and nice looking. Service at the front desk was fast and friendly. Price is good for its amazing downtown location.

Long story short, when my wife and I first arrived, the battery in the smoke detector in the room was low so the unit kept beeping. We called the front desk right away to tell them and they said they would come fix it right away. We left and went out for the night and came back about 8 hours later and the key card to our room didn t work and the beeping was still going off. Went to the front desk to tell them, gave us a new key to the room and that didn t work. Come to find out, they moved our room without telling us. Go to the new room number and there is a do not disturb sign on the door because it was already occupied, so thankfully we didn t walk in on another guest. Finally, talk to the manager to get us a new room and they agreed to comp our bar tab and breakfast the next morning. Before we left, we were reassured by the front desk that all charges would be negated. Now, it s almost 3 weeks later and the charges are still on my card, after talking to 4 different people who reassured me that the charges would be reversed. The only good things about this place were the decorations around Christmas and the security officer who went back to our room to get our bottle of champagne that we left. Rooms and bathrooms are small but clean. Wait staff at breakfast was inattentive as we had to ask for water 3 different times. All in all, bad experience that was easily avoidable with some due diligence.
I've stayed here many times. Perhaps one of my favorite in the country. The health club in the building is top notch and the location is perfect for access to everything downtown Boston. I'll be back.
Excellent hotel but confusing and borderline deceptive "facility fees" charged on top of advertised rates. "Facilities" (such as wifi) are presented as optional extras but the fee is in fact charged to every room.
Altogether pricing schema feels underhanded which is a shame because hotel is otherwise excellent and well situated.
The hotel itself was beautiful. Walking distance to a ton of places that were great to see. Breakfast / Bar / Steakhouse seemed rather expensive, so we went elsewhere. Overall, great hotel.

Very nice upscale hotel right in the middle of Boston. The staff were all very nice and the accommodations were terrific. Valet parking made things easy so we didn't have to deal with our car. Also right off the subway. We would stay here again.

Had an awful experience here. After arriving shortly before midnight at the hotel after a long transatlantic flight they told me they didnt have any free rooms although I made a reservation more than a month earlier. Instead they sent me to an alternative hotel more than 55min by car (during traffic) outside of boston (when they sent me off they claimed it was 15min... Cab driver went the direct way though, followed the path on google maps.) They gave me cash for a cab ride there, one way. I am waiting to be reimbursed for the way back into town. The hotel they picked has rates of only 2/3 of of what I booked but I am waiting to see reimbursement for the difference. I am also waiting to see a discount for the trouble they caused, the time and nerves they cost me.
Two years ago I staid at this place already. Back then I was permitted to check in but I was handed a key to a hotel room already occupied by somebody else. They basically gave me - basically a random stranger - access to another person's room, where he even had his company keycard and other valuables lying around. After complaining they provided me with a different room, and I was mostly just amused by the story. I am pretty sure the other occupant was not notified by the fact they gave somebody else access to the room.
Putting this all together: the place might be conveniently located but they dont have their booking system in order and they treat you awfully, are dishonest and make you pay money for the mistakes they made.
Awful experience. Avoid this hotel.

The hotel handles the package delivery through a Fedex office inside the hotel and you have to pay to pick up your package. I can t believe the hotel doesn t include this in their $25 extra fee.
