The room is small and the bathroom is small. But the room is clean and nice. The maid service, front desk service, bar service, doormen and concierge staff are all excellent and extremely helpful!

I liked the location. However, $259 plus tax is a little steep for this hotel. And the fact that they charged me for FedEx services which I have not used, that I had to dispute this twice, over the phone and by email, and that they did not apologize, all of that left me with a bad aftertaste.

Location was perfect for us. A short taxi ride to Fenway Park as well as many excellent restaurants. The room was small for the price and the cable or satellite TV would pixel bad on some of the movie channels like HBO and food network. The staff was excellent in all services from check in to information on local spots and obtaining taxi service when needed.

I travel a lot for work, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. This is probably in my top 3 worst experiences. First of all, the staff is exceedingly unpleasant. They won't look you in the eye, the grumble when you try to say hello, they only speak in one or two words at a time. Honestly as someone who tries really hard to be friendly to service staff, I have to point out that if their demeanor made me angry, that is saying something. On top of the fact that they made me wait for over 4 hours for my room, only to actually downgrade the room without any discounts, this hotel just flat out sucks.

Rooms are small but nice, the same goes for the bathroom. But it is completely sufficient.
Breakfast service is a little slow. Although the espresso machine worked (and only the milk part didn't), you had to ask 3 times to get a simple espresso.
We had booked with breakfast, but there was no buffet. We took the offer to order a la carte, but then had to argue about the bill. Shouldn't have been, otherwise very chic, breakfast also good and bartenders in the evening are also very service-oriented.

Location was fantastic, super accessible from Green line as it's a short block from the Arlington stop. Being right near the Common is pretty great as well, although don't expect to have any great views from your room. I had stayed in a Deluxe King. The bed was soft and comfortable, but it took up a majority of the space in the room. The room itself looked fairly luxurious - except the crown molding that was only on half of the ceiling for some reason and once I noticed it I couldn't stop looking up at how awkward it was. The bathroom felt like it was ripped straight out of the Y from the 90s, though. Half inch off white tile covering the whole floor, with a small rubber strip serving as a border between the shower floor and the rest of the bathroom floor. The water pressure absolutely left something to be desired. We were also able to hear sounds from the rooms adjacent to us very clearly, which made us feel uncomfortable within our own room. The staff were friendly and accommodating for the services we used, which were checking bags when we arrived in Boston (we were there early in the morning and the room was understandably not ready yet) and after checking out but before we left, as well as interacting with the desk staff for check in and check out, and receiving a breakfast location recommendation from the concierge (who recommended The Paramount - which I wholeheartedly agree with). Overall the stay was not bad. It ultimately served its purpose of a place to leave our things and sleep during our weekend, but it left a lot to be desired. I do not think I would plan on staying there again in the future, as the only strong positive (location/ease of getting to) isn't really a scarcity based on the expansive coverage of the T throughout the city.

It s fine. Typical gorgeous building and lobby, great location, but the problem with old hotels is that they were designed 100 years ago. The rooms are small and noisy, the bathrooms are tight and have nowhere to put your stuff (and all I have is a single bathroom kit) etc. The WiFi was incredibly slow, and so this place depends on what you need. I travel for a living, so I really don t care what the lobby looks like. I m not living in the lobby. I need a soundproof room, fast internet, and blackout curtains, not a guy to help me carry my bag. But if you like fancy lobbies and bellmen, this is the place.

Avoid if you're on a budget. This is one of those hotels where they charge you extra for every little thing. We were a group of 6 staying 2 days and just in resort fees alone were 500$. Now, I get it..downtown..one of the bigger cities in the states..it's a business but, at what point do you stop and value your customers so much that you want them to come back?! We had to pay resort fees for things we didn't even use like the starbucks and gym. The rooms aren't even that nice. Take your business elsewhere if you can.

Great downtown hotel. The gym is really nice downstairs and guests of the hotel can work out there for free. The WiFi is free in the rooms. They have chrome cast so you can wifi shows to the TV from your phone. The elevator doesn't work unless you are a hotel guest and swipe your room card which secures it better. Room was clean. The hotel bar was nice and played great mix of songs. The drinks were nicely made and tasted perfect. Classy hang out spot for a hotel. Even if I wasn't a guest I'd pop in from the street probably. The subway line was literally across the street, not even a block away. You could take subway from airport right to the hotel almost. So you can save money. Take the blue line, to the green line and get off at Arlington stop.

Small room, old but clean. I'm here working, so it's not ambiance I need it's functionality. Staff seems fine to me and having a drink in the lobby was pleasant, if not interesting. When Reno is done I would add a star, good location too.

The hotel lobby and bar area are nice but that s about it. Rooms are small and bathrooms are barely functional. The hotel was rude about our VIP extended checkout and gave us a hard time about it. Said it was based on availability even though when we checked in, Paige at the front desk, reminded me to use it. The manager Jessica was extremely rude and had zero customer service skills. Would recommend the Westin right down the street after my experience this weekend.

This hotel was amazing. Yes, the bathroom is small, but the room itself was outstanding. It seems like the hotel underwent a very extensive renovation and the rooms are very trendy. I enjoyed the comfortable bed and the technology in the room. The room allowed you to cast via the Google Chrome app, which was a highlight for me. You have access to the rail system within walking distance, which was perfect for us. Service was outstanding and I enjoyed the mix of a historic hotel with a modern feel. I recommend this hotel based on my experience. We had the queen-size room with one bed. The room did have a fridge and a k-cup machine.

Overall wonderful hotel, however, the overwhelming majority of rooms are very small. Rooms are very clean, with comfortable beds. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is excellent, many things being within a short walk (Boston Public Garden one block to the north, Boylston Street, shops, restaurants, etc). The Argyle Street subway station is right across the street to get to farther away areas of the city (e.g. - Cambridge/Ivy League Universities). There's a very nice Au Bon Pain around the corner of the same building for early birds looking for food/coffee before other shops open.

On a side note, if you order a package to be delivered to the hotel, the hotel front desk does not actually hold it, rather they send it to the Fedex office (in the hotel, first floor), which charges a premium to send or receive packages (around $10 per package up to a certain weight for holding packages). Shipping packages also incurs a premium charge, while there are other couriers very close by (including Fedex) which these service charges are not incurred.

Overall, definitely recommend the hotel!

The beds in the hotel room were comfortable and the hotel provided you with a mini fridge. However, I was annoyed at the fact that you had to pay a hefty amount of money in order to use the WiFi in the hotel room, but they did still have free WiFi in the lobby.

The hotel was great but the valet acted like a jackass to us when he brought us the wrong car. Telling us this is the ticket we gave him mutiple times when in fact he read the ticket wrong and brought us a mini van instead of my Volvo sedan. He made it seem like it was our fault that he brought us the wrong car and was just a terrible way to leave the hotel.

If you want to charge guests fees for no reason, add the fee to the actual price of the room. Don't slip a bill under my door in the morning telling me I owe you more money for "Facility Fees". Your staff laughed at me when I asked them about the bill. Your manager, Bruce, blew me off when I asked that the random amount of money you charged me without my permission be refunded. I'm notifying my bank of the charge as fraud and never staying at your hotel again.

The fee of US$ 25/ day for hotel amenities is not advertized clearly and you realize it only at check-out. This mislead you decision when you compare the rates with other hotels that don't have the fee or have it already included in the rate.

Very appealing from the outside. Just as appealing in the lobby and restaurants. Rooms are not as upscale and are not a representation of what you would expect from standing in the lobby. Friendly staff - very pleasant and helpful. Fitness room on site but NO POOL OR SPA. Huge let down. Takes away from the overall experience.

I'm a repeat customer of this hotel and I like it quite a bit. It has a great central location and if you are looking to work out while staying in Boston they give you access to a great gym. The bar is trendy and the prices reflect that, but they did give me a nice cup of snack mix. The rooms are nice and clean but not that large as would be expected in the city. The service has always been very good.

Since parts of the hotel were under renovation, their solution to not having a restaurant that serves breakfast was to set up an uninspired breakfast buffet one of their lunch/dinner venues. Which wouldn't have been a problem except that they thought it appropriate to charge guests almost $30 for scrambled eggs and pancakes.

This is a really lovely hotel. Every staff member we met was gracious, everything we touched was scrupulously clean (even the less-used staircases) and the building is full of old-world charm and modern decor. The rooms can be small, however, surprisingly so: be sure to ask about size if you need to maneuver medical equipment.

An amazing property. We had a special event in the library decorated room, and it was the perfect place. The staff was attentive and helpful, and never let the coffee and tea get empty. Will definitely use them again.

Friendly, professional, courteous, and helpful staff. BEST breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great location; walking distance to downtown and Cheers, New England Aquarium is approximately 1 mile, and an average 15 minute ride to the Convention Center.
