Nice little hotel casino, always win a little when we visit
A dump. Rude staff. Rooms are nice but a road march from registration. Stay elsewhere
Pizza for birthday parties does not taste very good
The casino is nice but they need to rotate in more newer games
Marisa checked us in and was an absolute delight! From that A+ service throughout our stay was excellent service and a fantastic time!
Got a great nights sleep after a little gambling and fun with associates. Played golf during the day. Convenient to Truckee and Tahoe. Great price and more fun than staying in Truckee or North Shore. Liked my room! Staff at desk very helpful.
The staff is always very friendly. Karen checked me in and accommodated me with a room very much to my liking! I stay here quite often. I find it beats anything in Downtown Reno.
Wonderful hotel room, great service and good restaurants.
Misleading promotions.
After being told $25 free play would kick in after losing $25 i spent and lost $100.
When i questioned they explained it better.
( couldn't help feeling mislead)
But what ever I stopped playing slots went to card table. They kept sending employees to explain same thing to the point of annoying.
After no longer having fun at card table we left casino and went to a casino in Fernley.
I highly recommend utilizing the valet for parking you will find the staff quite helpful professional and knowledgeable as well as eager to assist their customers both those in front of us and behind us. Our room- two queens microwave fridge iron board working TV and remote very clean. Check in and check out was easy and prompt. We will be returning.
Not a bad place to stay. Would definitely stay there again
Lobster buffet has been remodeled. Lobsters were plenty and short lines. Only downside is they only allow you to grab 1 lobster at a time which makes for many walks to the line.
Mels dinner was great but there was a lot of flys. Casino was nice.
We've stayed here twice. If you're looking for an economical (outside of holiday weekends, that is) hotel near Reno, this isn't a bad alternative. Avoid the lobster buffet and head into town for better dining options, and don't expect a high degree of cleanliness. But altogether, an acceptable lodging option when you're on the road.
The beds are very comfortable. We did have to move rooms due to the first one smelling like marijuana even though we were in no smoking. Staff was very helpful. The location is great. Lots to do for the whole family.
We decided to spend two nights here after reading they were pet friendly. That is laughable. When we booked the room, we took a room in the south tower that was next to the pool. When we arrived we were told because we have a dog our room was moved to the north tower, third floor. If this was the case they should ve stated that when we first booked the room, we told them we had a pet, we put down an extra $125 deposit for the room due to our dog.
The dog area is a tiny patch of grass near the welcome sign, it s pathetic. The worst part was when we got into the room, we found ants on one of the tables. My wife and I killed them off and didn t think anything else of it. The second night when we got back to our room the hall leading into the room and the bathroom was filled with ants. Also, the table and one of the beds my mother-in-law was sleeping in had ants on it. We called down for them to do something about it. They changed our room, but instead of putting us in a room of equal size they put us in a way smaller room.
You would think we would get comped for something, or some kind of refund, but no. Stay away from this hell hole. Horrible management, disgusting rooms filled with bugs, and the entire third floor smelled like rotting fish.
The Buffett is disgusting. We left and the manager provided a refund of $80+ dollars. Stay away!
Overall very positive experience. The halls and restaurants were very smoky but the room was fine.
I like there Buffy on Thursday night. And my boyfriend and I use it for a romantic moment. Haha.
Always a great place to stay if going to Reno area. RV park, Kids area, good dining, and and enough slots to keep you busy. The room was nice and cozy. Cool motorcycle near the lobby!
Paid extra for a mountain view but outside air conditioner blocked it.
Amazing employees, especially the card dealers! Rooms were nice, clean, and well-stocked. If I could complain about anything it would be that I was put in a smoking room, and was told that I couldn't be moved to non-smoking because hotel was "full".
Hotel is very clean, very good service. Employees very friendly and helpful. Hood place to stay.
Very fun experience with my family. Enjoyed the lobster buffet.
Not nearly as great as the pictures. Super smoky hallways and rooms. If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, don t even consider staying anywhere in this hotel.
I recommend this place anybody who wants to go we'll have a good time and we'll eat really good food
Best Western Boomtown is a nice place to stay short term. I had no problems with the staff or location. It was not an outstanding experience, the staff was courteous, but not really friendly. The north tower room I stayed in (2203) was a balcony room. The door going out to the balcony must have lost the bottom seal, it blew cold air in
Great Casino! I think they need to update thier buffet. Its been the same for many years.
Boomtown have offer full lobster buffet so we love to eat there and other don't have it in California nothing
We spent over $600.00 on video poker and video keno and we did not get to play more than a half hour. You would at least think you could play for awhile but the machines are so tight that you can hear them squeak when they deal a hand. We will NOT be back and we will tell everyone that this place is not a good place to game.
We love boomtown and the hotel is very comfortable and the staff is friendly. It s a nice place to rest after a long drive. It s a fun atmosphere and we love the Lobster buffet. It s also close to Reno, so if you want to go explore the city you are right there , then you can return to a nice comfortable place.
Thanks Boomtown.
Overall experience was nice. Dealers, restaurant employees, member services employees were wonderful. Good luck getting a drink if you're sitting at a table though and check in staff could be friendlier.
We had a pretty good stay. Clean facility, friendly employees..overall a positive stay..
Except for the bartender who gave us change for a $20 when we gave him $100.
He made it right when we discovered the mistake 10min later but it was obvious to us that he'd done it on purpose. It was fairly busy in there but he 'remembered' we paid with $100 bill. He got caught in his scam and didn't want security looking up the transaction on the camera. The rest of the night we were given a receipt every time we ordered a beer...funny how we never got a receipt for the original purchase.
Watch your money
This is a good Hotel..this time in our stay things happened and made the vacation NOT! 100% good. But then we all have bad days every now and again.
My Dad & I like this place, great little restaurant.
First time i stayed here it was great. last two times was just.... ok
Boomtown has come a long way since my first stay there. It is a very nice hotel.
Reeks with the smell of tobacco and disappointment.
We came here to chow down on some delicious Mel's food and we left satisfied, full, and an intent to come back!
Had a blast at the Fun Center! The clown throw game is the best to rack up tickets! Also this continues to be the best Mels diner I have eaten. There is lots of parking for RVs down to small cars. The staff are always very nice and helpful.
Lobster buffet is always good. Love the value, but the food could be just a lil better. Good times. Friendly staff
Good hotel rooms are nice and clean. Beds are comfy. Casino floor is a little dated.
Stayed the first time and they failed so I got a free night stay and then the room was bot clean especially under the sleeper sofa. Where there were press on nails leads plus whatever else. The only reason I cared to stay here is to take my children to the fun center. The fun center was not great either. They were under staffed and had the sign saying that the rides were only operational by employees who were asked. After a while a very kind older woman showed up for work and made the fun center fun again.
Professional and very friendly and most accommodating and best fun ever.
Had a great stay, convenient location with a 24 hour restaurant and also a great place to take kids.
Every staff member we interacted with was friendly. Good service and not pushy at all. We ate at Mel's Diner and played arcade games.
Nice place to stay if you don't eat the food, don't mind smelling like cigarette smoke and want a big hike every time you leave your room.
Boomtown has always been a favorite destination of our family's.
Great place to eat and let the kids play. The kids liked the kids area more than any other casino's in the Reno area.
A little out of Reno but good casino and very friendly
It is a great place to have a young child's birthday party with plenty for toddlers to do.
My husband and I got to the hotel at 6 o'clock and they told us that it would be a 4 hour wait to get a room because I 80 had closed for the night and they were also going to charge us double the amount to stay for the night. We went to circus circus for 65 $ total. Boomtown was going to charge us 103 $ total.
Place is awesome..... casino, drinks, live bands, and comfy rooms.
Awesome selection of slots and great food and a nice kids section
A place with potential needs to remodel and lower the temperature
Boomtown had fun promotions for becoming a member, I.e. discount on their buffet, discount on their steak restaurant, and $5 for slots.
We stopped by there to eat their all you can eat lobster buffet. The food there is overall decent for the price. Expect to pay about $35-40 for a lobster buffet WITH prime rib. It's not going to be the most amazing food. But there are no complaints at all. On average as a group we had 3+ whole lobsters each. Not to shabby.
While my brother and his co-workers went to play in Casino, my friend and I looked around at the arcades game. It was fun experience.
This place is amazing and very well managed. You can't beat the price and service of this hotel.
Our stay was just okay. Most Best Western that we stay at offer full breakfast and that is how I rate most of my reviews. This hotel does not. So it was just okay!! The best place we have stayed in is located in Eureka, Ca.
Mold in shower, water backed up in shower. Marker on walls.
We had a great experience and are room was a complementary stay, would enjoy going back,
Great place to stop at on way home from Reno, been a family tradition since I was young
Took my kids to play at the fun zone. They had a good time but a lot of rides were shut down and the staff wasn't very attentative. Had to go ask for every ride and wait 10mins for them to come start it
Prefer this location much more than Circus Circus in Reno for family fun with smaller children.
