Arrived to a room that wasn't completely clean and the toilet ran continuously throughout the stay even after it was attempted to be repaired. The hotel itself is really smoky, even in the room areas. Staff was pleasant.

It's always a fun place to come with your family or not but if you come with your family and you have kids there Fun Center is pretty cool I have young and nieces and nephews and they love coming here cuz they get the hang out in the Fun Center all the time and it kind of feel like they're adults do at the same time cuz they're playing games while we're playing games but over the years quite a few years actually that we have been coming here as a family I have to say that the staff here is pretty amazing because they remember us every year when we come back and they remember our names and they say hello to us if they see one of us then they ask where the rest of us are and it's really a pretty amazing thing that's what true customer service is about people who listen pay attention and remember your name especially employees in a casino hotel and resort in Reno that's pretty significant that employees can remember your name given the fact they see that many people every year so Boomtown Best Western in Verde just outside of Reno is definitely worth a stop.

A CORONAVIRUS NOTE:

NOBODY CUSTOMERS OR STAFF WERE DIFFICULT DURING THIS TRYING TIME....EVERYONE WORE MASKS, THERE WERE HAND SANITIZER STATIONS EVERYWHERE AND EVERYONE WAS SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Very disappointing. Lobster was dry over cooked too tough to eat. We tried 3 different lobsters all the same. The buffet was not worth $32.00..wish we had a burger at Mels. We were so looking forward to lobster. We will never be back. Staff was very nice and efficient.

The worst place across the state line. The lobster trap is overpriced and is not worth it.. If you want to drink you can forget about it. Old slot machines old carpet forget about this place

We had a good experience here at this hotel. It is a little ways away from town, but it is only about a 10 minute taxi ride if you're wanting to make it downtown. Many of the rooms were remodeled like a couple years ago so the rooms are nice and well kept. The staff was always kind and helpful. Would recommend

Big, spacious rooms. Very clean and well decorated. Great price. Dog friendly location. We saw several smiling pooches. On-site restaurants are clean, delicious and reasonably priced. Mel's Diner has to be the best one ever. Highly recommend this location.

Update: Since the hotel staff and management did make an effort to reach out to me after my 1st stay and because the location was convenient, I stayed at Boomtown again about a week later. I did not experience any problems on my second stay so I've upgraded my rating from 2 stars to 3. Too bad Best Western didn't send me a "Please review your stay" email after the 2nd stay (like they did after the earlier one) - maybe they stop sending those to BW Rewards members after a negative review?

"Pool View" room faced a blank wall in an alcove of the pool area although a sliver of the pool was visible from the right angle. Room wasn't very clean (used washcloth in shower, used toothpick on nightstand). Deadbolt didn't work (plate was loose). I arrived very late and didn't want to deal with it so didn't mention any of this until the next morning at the front desk as I was leaving. Front desk person said, "thanks for letting us know" - no apology or empathy (although I did find out later that she took 20% off my bill). So I asked to speak to a manager but he wasn't available. I asked her to have him call me and she said she would.

This Best Western Plus doesn't include breakfast like all the others, my fault for assuming. If you are going to stay there for business only, beware you have to walk through the casino and deal with the smoke. Over all it was clean and staff were nice. The steak restaurant was amazing.

Looked great, things just didn't work out as planned. Went to play the machines for a few hours on Thursday after check in and the cocktail waitress was great, calling out when she would be in the area. Never had an issue.

We leave Friday for a good part of the day at our tournament and come back expecting new towels and at least that kind of stuff to be picked up and replaced. Apparently not. They never showed up the entire time we were there.

Later that day, we head to play the machines again, no cocktail waitress around, go to the Guitar Bar about 4pm no one is in sight except for what I can assume are employees off the clock sitting at the bar playing the machines. I wait for 10 mins in the area, no one shows up behind the bar and so I head back over to the machines. Play for about 30 more mins no waitress, and no drinks unfortunately. Go back to the Guitar bar ask the guy who is now there 'do you guys not have any waitress's today?' He just replies 'ya we do'... 'okay, well I guess I need to order two drinks then.' Get my drinks and we are sitting at the bar now playing the machines because at least I can get my drinks now that he is there. Then out of no where about 15-20 employees show up behind us playing some sort of team building game among themselves for about 30 minutes...

The main reason we booked our hotel with you because of the Kids Arcade you have there instead of the our normal Circus Circus hotel and everywhere on your website and when booking the hours state clearly.....

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Thursday 11am-9pm
Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am-10pm

We show up and purchase four $15 ride passes @ 6pm.... and come back from getting pizza at the deli for the kids to see they are closing the doors down @ 6:50 saying they are short staffed and closing early, on a Friday night, you have got to be kidding me... We tell the kids they are closing cash out their tickets and we leave.

Decide to go and get drinks from the vending area that night. Completely empty on the 2nd floor, go to the 3rd floor, yup you guessed it, completely empty. I remember the little gift shop had drinks in it and go down and purchase some there. Explain what has transpired through out the day and she said 'Yup all of that is pretty normal for around here.'

Saturday morning, wake up and there is water leaking from the ceiling in front of the bathroom and the front door off the vent. I just put our pile of wet towels under it and we head to check out.

Front desk lady asks how the stay was. I relay this exact story to her and she literally does not even respond...

It's got to be pretty bad for me to sit down and write out a bad review, but this was pretty much a let down through and through...

Wow! I'm amazed how cocktails waitress treated us so wrong by telling my wife, she cannot get cocktail. She have to be playing in order to get free drink. Nothing is free when you tip them. I was playing poker and my wife happened to be watching me for little bit. She took little break from playing slot. We've been here so many times, never happened before. This is place so dead, not too many guest come and play here except during giveaway Day. They should've treated whatever guest they have here with courtesy, don't be like an ass! I'm looking forward to spend my hard earned money elsewhere now. It takes one bad experienced and you know why?

Been coming to BoomTown for many, many years. During this time we have noticed so many changes, changes that cost them dearly. Granted the place was sold to two different companies that I am sure tried in vain to turn it around by everything failed. We were there today and the place was like a ghost town. Now anyone in their right mind would know this is definitely not a day to play the gaming, I lost $100 in less than thirty minutes. The food is OKAY. We had the lobster buffet last year and it was the first time I had to use a steak knife to cut the lobster. The linguini and clams was rhe bomb. Buffet is definitely not worth the cost. We now live in Reno/Sparks area and today was the first time we have been to Boomtown since last year when we had the horrible buffet. Not much has changed.

The suite is fabulous with the jacuzzi. My only problem was with the hotel staff and the casino manager. After staying 2 nights on our 3rd day I asked for a different room or to have my room cleaned we ordered breakfast I asked the staff for a clean room because the whole time you hear how there trying to keep covid 19 out of there facility. A bunch of BS I had to eat in a dirty room the manager didn't give a rats you know what. He was so concerned on how not to pay a jackpot to a customer that should have been paid in his words a enormous amount of money. I still can't believe they got away with not paying the customer for all of the Noah's ark that popped up on the machine. I'd be very careful gambling here. The graveyard cocktail waitress that's been here forever is a joy to see she should train the rest of these people on how to keep a customer because she's a sweet heart she's European with long hair I can't remember her name but I'd give her alone 5 stars. And the manager in Mel's I'd give him 4 1/2 Stars he is a good manager the casino should really think about customer service when a person is spending large amounts of money. The cocktail waitress that's Asian or Philpino should not take a order and then never bring the drink. She needs A new occupation if she doesn't want to do the job.
