Only stopped in because Cabela's was closed, but it wasn't super busy, seemed clean and staff was friendly enough.
Only stopped in because Cabela's was closed, but it wasn't super busy, seemed clean and staff was friendly enough.
only went there to gamble and eat. Buffet was closed. Inconvenient. Clean otherwise.
We stayed at the Boomtown Best Western hotel and had a great time. The large indoor pool was lots of fun. There was a coffeemaker with coffee pods in the the room and there was also a Pete's coffee in the casino which was also nice for the morning coffee. The Thursday BBQ Buffet was excellent. If you have a players card the cost is only $7.77. That is a great deal for a really good buffet.
The hotel and casino weregood, but we brought our 6 year old son with us since we were also attending the reno air races. The game area was okay, but I would have to say that a little less than half the games were working,
Had a great time. Pool could have been a little warmer and they should have added a jacuzzi in the indoor pool area in Boomtown.
Place is old and to rebuilt
But the people make it great
We camped in our RV it provided a respite from our travels
Strongly don't come here if you like to play slots. Don't get me wrong I don't mind lossing my money, but not that fast.. $1000.00 in 1 1/2 hours and only get 4 bonus. Will not come back....But dose have a Nice staff
Not Best Western it was boom town walk out winning of $20,000 only had $50.00 comp .
Dig it! The whole experience was fantastic. From the security guard, bar tenders, Jack in the Steakhouse, and the wonderful girls that helped me with the ATM. I'll be back
I love and appreciate Boomtown being the first casino before furthering into Reno after a long drive. The whole staff in general are all so friendly and very helpfull in any way you need help or directions. Boomtown is a family freindly casino with a good size arcade to entertain the young ones. Throughout my experience in staying with majority of the hotels in Reno/Sparks, this casino is the closest to having the best cleanliness. Not perfect, but generally clean. Housekeeping can never be perfect due to time factors of the job, and the soooo many people they have to serve. Besides the fun you can have, I know many people love the perks of free carwash and -$.15 a gallon on gas.
Wonderfully Surprised. Every thing is so nice. People working are so friendly and helpful
Nice medium sized casino known locally for its buffet and fun center.
Boomtown has a Great Fun Center for kids. The buffet is affordable. Head straight to the Carving station.
I went to eat lobster buffet which was quite awesome, only problem is the buffet doesnt have anything else except lobster
We had a great time. The rooms were clean and comfortable, restaurants were awesome and some available at all hours and the machines were paying. We left bucks up. Woohooooo!
This hotel is over priced. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The shower was dirty and not draining. It says pet friendly but its not convenient to bring your pets. They charge $25 for your pet plus a $50 security deposit. There are far better places to stay in Reno. Don't waste your time or your good night sleep.
We have been guests of boomtown since it's inception. Always satisfied. We often stayed in the R.V park as well. As long as BT continues to offer good service, we will love coming back.
Ver nice...activities for all, very nice inside and out
A clean, comfortable stay at Boomtown. The room was ready when we got there and everything was clean and in perfect working order. We did not need anything, but there were people available if we did. All and all, a great stay!
Clean and relaxing atmosphere. Came here to see the 80's band Nee Wave Crave at the Guitar Bar. They're great!
It's very nice, decent amount of machines for gambling, nice big area for kids to play while adults gamble away, and good amount of eateries to choose from
Haven't stayed at the hotel, but it is in a good location. The buffet is pretty good -a nice selection of items.
Stay away from the buffet. Rolls are hard as rocks. They ruined salad. How do you ruin salad? Not sure if I found a blueberry stem or a bug leg in the cheesecake. Everything had the taste and consistency of pure disappointment.
I didn't stay the night but the slots are fun, there us a huge variety. It's clean and even though you can smoke in there it's not an overwhelming smell for nonsmokers. The staff were all friendly and the food at Mel's Diner was delicious! I had a great time. I also enjoyed the arcade. Lots of fun games to play and prizes to win.
I can recommend this hotel. To my experience of the people at the counter amazing service; the room was comfortable and clean; and go back when you need a hotel in this area.
The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Only negative was the room was not available upon my arrival. I arrived at 4:45 p.m. and expected the room to be ready.
Not a big fan of the hotel. Rooms and service can be weak. But am a fan of Mel's Diner. Finally, a 24-hour restaurant in the place. Plus, the food and menu are very good.
Loved this place! Excellent service clean rooms and priced right. Casiono a plus ,will definitely will return.
Horrible food ever. I swear I will never come back. There is no other food except the mediocre plastic taste lobster. Cost $35 after tax with player discount but honestly I think it worth only $10. The service at the food counter is so rude that I called the manager twice! Are these people trying to destroy the business? When I was there, only 30% tables are occupied. The old asian woman who distributes lobster just don t understand the very basic rule of how to treat customers. She just throw the lobster heavily into your plate with angry face. Are you trying to scare me off so I won t ask for more lobster? Ridiculous! Madness! This place won t last for another year!
great place to stay, staff are great, rooms are clean.
Good place to get gas and food on your way out from Reno.
WORST HOTEL EVER!!!! I remember this being a fun place to come when I was a kid. NOW it is run down, dirty, the staff and service is horrible. While staying in the North Tower our room was infested with ants. The staff said the ants were fishing ants...WTH!! They sprayed the room and said that should do it. Nope! Ants everywhere - all on the bed, table, in the refrigerator. The staff kindly moved us to another room but wanted us to move all of our belongings. A Bellman was requested to assist with the move. Every day out key needed to be rebooted as it only worked one day at a time. The staff had an attitude with us for needing to have a new key everyday. The staff told me they could not give me the number to the general manager. That's against their policy.
Will NEVER stay here again!!
Players card never delivered the free play after I lost $25.
Not a bad place. Not very accessible with a lot of luggage and lines for checking in were long and only 1 clerk.
Great room for the price.... Room did have a stuffy odor and hallways weren't kept clean but overall it was a good short stay. The bed was comfy but pillows need upgraded.
Smoke filled casino.
Parking inconvenient.
The worst hotel we've ever stayed at.Will sleep in my car before staying here ever a gain.
Went for the buffet and a little gambling. Had a good time.
Went to a birthday party in the kids center. Very fun. Good for variety of age ranges. My 3 year old had a blast.
Nothing great!! Like a morgue. Huge place with a handful of people. Room wasn t bad. Only Mel s dinner open. Food was good. I left my silver chain on the bathroom sink and was a nightmare filing a lost and found claim. I finally called back in a week and has not been found. My stupidity for leaving it but their bad for keeping it. Would never stay there again.
Jalapeno burger was awesome! Burgers shakes and fries! Great 1950's atmosphere and staff was friendly! Remember to pay at the front...
Very large complex with a bit of everything. Nice rooms, food on site.
Stay was pretty good, nothing great or terrible, except rather than put a $75 hold on my credit card, like they said, they charged me the $120 for the room, and put another $320 pending in charges on top of that for the same room for about a week.
Edit: And apparently the people that read the reviews are illiterate.
Had a birthday party for a 4 year old, great place for kids
The hotel casino is always a nice place to stay they treat you like family.i always have fun there and good food stay there when I can
Great place to gamble and take the kids for a nice day of fun!
I make this trip once a year. I like to stay here, it's better not to stay downtown Reno. Boomtown has everything that I need, with a good price.
Nice buffet. Decent service. Fun gaming and great for kids
Parking--I did not use valet parking. I drove around until I found a spot close by in the main parking lot. Nothing up close thou.
Check-In---The wait for check-in was about five minutes or less. I had no problems with check-in.
Room--I found my room and it was very nice. The room had a safe, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, coffee, and two bottles of water at no additional charge.
Items For Sale---There was a flyer on the bed advertising items in the room for sale (bed pillows, sheets, towels, and hair dryer) with the cost of each item. If you wanted them all you had to do was take them and you would be charged for it.
Internet--Free access to the internet. Easy to sign in and the speed was very fast. No problems there.
Food--Mel's Diner is where I ate. The food was very good. Yet their prices was a little high. Friendly and attentive staff.
Gambling--I play the slots and not much winnings on them.
Entertainment--Not sure of the band's name playing in the lounge but they were good. The band performed a variety of music (Country, Rock, Motown, Classic, and Swing).
Gas Station--I got $0.15 off per gallon of gas and a free car wash compliments of Boomtown. The car wash is spot free and no brushes are used.
Check-Out--I choose express check-out. In which I just left the room keys in the room and leave.
Overall I recommend you stay here at Boomtown for a more relaxing and rewarding experience. Away from the overly crowded streets and hotels of downtown Reno.
What a wonderful experience! Welcoming entrance and clean decor. Simple hotel, but our stay was fantastic because every employee we encountered was helpful, friendly, accommodating, patient and greeted us with a smile!
The property was nice enough. The room was clean, but the tub area clearly was not cleaned every time. They only left 2 towels in the room. The pool area closed at 9 pm! Not even time to use it. They charge a resort fee, and this is clearly not a resort. Won't be going back for the money spent.
The room was decorated nicely and the beds were comfortable. Parts of the room could have been cleaner. I was disappointed with the indoor pool which seemed smaller than we expected, and the Fun Center. There was not a cheaper buffet on a Monday night, so we ate at a different casino. The price for the room was good, and if you are not taking advantages of the amenities, then maybe this is the right place for you.
All wekend lost money. Untill... bamn... boomtown.. we won all the money back that we lost at the other casinos..
Wow what a great little find! I was traveling from Reno to Truckee and this is nearly in the middle. The woman who checked me in was extra friendly and sweet. My room had both a microwave and a mini fridge!
I received your response which is what I expected. Another complaint I have is I was charged $114 when I checked out but yet there is still a $189 hold on my account! That s $189 I can t use. The other two places I stayed had a hold until I checked out then they charged me and all was good. Since your reply says your the owner can you fix that as well. I found out last night that my 3 aunts and my mom stay there for three days every couple of months. Because of what happened with my stay and the holds on my account they are reconsidering. They will probably be driving into Reno from now on. They just go for a few days of fun/relaxing/gambling then come home
Just stopped by for a little break on our road trip. We played the slots for about an hour. You could find machines that only required a 40 cent minimum bet, right up my alley. Nice loose slots with some fun bonus action. Walked away a winner. The casino was clean and parking was close to the entrance. There was a Mel's Diner inside the casino wherew e had breakfast before hitting the road again.
Started out bad when I was making the reservation but I called back and got a good operator. The beds are the most comfortable I've slept in, the casino part is relaxed and the live music isn't to loud to not be able to enjoy. I would give 5 stars if the first reservation operator had been a little nicer.
The hotel appearance and cleanliness seemed good. Nothing special but it s what you d expect from a typical midrange hotel. Friendly staff and good service. However, got bit by bedbugs. Disgusting, I hope I didn t bring any home.
Great hotel with a lot of amenities
Rooms were great. I liked the dacore . Mel's diner and the steak house was awesome. Definetly have to try it out. Thank you. Had a great time.
We were very happy with our room and the service we received. Food was excellent. We would stay there again and recommend it to anyone traveling.
Casino was wonderful,,,,but room was not really clean,,,
Pros:
Nice hotel. Clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Casino area was not overly stinky with cigarette smell. I enjoyed Mel's Diner for lunch.
Room was nice and clean. No view. Microwave and mini fridge was nice.
Cons:
HVAC in the room was extremely loud when running. Could not sleep continuously because of it.
Restaurants on the main floor were scattered throughout the property.
A lot of walking to get from end of the property to another.
Outside, the walkways were extremely slippery when wet.
I recommend incorporating sand into the paint since the walkways are painted. Parking and specifically signage was lacking to help direct you out of the property and to the Interstate.
Overall it was nice stay. Would have been better if the HVAC did not wake us up every 20 minutes.
The corn hash was bad and they didn't make the eggs right at Mel's dinner, but the server was nice and attentive.
Amenities were great. My stay was in the north tower. Service was great. Gambling was fun. Cocktail waitresses were awesome. It was an overall great stay
Had the Lobster Buffet, I think my husband singlehandedly helped to decimate the Lobster population. The desserts were FANTASTIC, the service was fast and friendly. Definitely get a player's club card before hitting the buffet, the discount is worth it.
