Loved the displays, especially the bridge but the sound system for the shows could be significantly louder and they are not very well organized to clue you in on what you need to do for the VIP package for China Lights.

I along with many others use Whitnall Park to run, walk, cross country ski, and bike. A great place! Now the Gardens has The China Lights, a sight to see if you haven't already. The whole area is very scenic all year round, for different reasons/ seasons. A great place to spend some time.

Really excellent place, granted it was for the Chinese Festival of Lights but the grounds are awesome beauty and excellence in how they care for the grounds. I can't wait to see it again in the Summer and Spring.

We loved the China lights! It was beautiful and very well put together. There was a lot of staff monitoring the event and helping with questions if you were unsure as to where to go next. The performers were great too!

So I went when it was free admission to get in. I believe they have free admission once every month but it cost 5$ to get in regularly. I am glad I didnt have to pay for anything because although there were so many gardens with all sorts of plants and trees, they were doing a lot of work and landscaping probably getting ready for the summer months. In addition, they had none of the fountains within the gardens on either.

The gardens are beautiful, well organized and educational. They are connected by walking paths which lead to formal gardens that include a Rose and Herb garden. I loved the Herb garden with signage that explained the benefits of each herb. There is a trellised walk way and a rock garden with a small waterfall. The visitor center has a wonderful gift shop and consultants that will help you and answer questions about your gardening. There are restrooms in the visitor center and near the herb garden and there is plenty of parking.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the gardens we have been there multiple times during the day but last night we attended a fairy evening. Be sure to sign up for their Facebook page so I can find out when they're free events or other events of they offer are. The event that they had last night featured quite a few different people in costumes for the kids including glitter in the hair., fake tattoos, bug release, and more.

Not only are the trees and plants beautiful, but Boerner is so much fun! They offer all types of activities like gardening, wine and painting, yoga, concerts, and family activities. When China lights rolls around, it gets crazy over there. With good reason! It's such a fun experience. You can host weddings and parties here. I've been to a baby shower here as well. It's well worth multiple visits a year.

Went here for the China Lights event last night. Parking was a sheer nightmare. There is absolutely no coordinate to say where the parking is available. We parked a mile away, and had to walk in the pitch black. No lighting whatsoever on the roads leading to the gardens. With the walnuts dropping on the ground, I almost broke my ankle without the lights. Upon arrival to the Garden, people were milling in every direction trying to figure out where the entrance was. No signs, no people directing the mass crowd and shuttle bus people of where the entrance is. The ticketing area is an absolute joke. There's approximately 4 booths, and nobody directing the mile long line of where they should be going. Ticket holders had to wait in the same lines, making no sense at all. Inside the gardens there were only a couple of port-a-pottie's, and 1 building with a mens/womens restroom. Directions inside of where the flow of people should be going was not well displayed. The signage throughout the bridge path was sagging, so you couldn't read what the vinyl signs said. Food vending area was decent, pricing is what was to be expected. I won't be back until the management can get the logistics of this event worked out, and known to not be pure chaos.

This place was ok. I expected more I suppose. A lot of the flowers were not very healthy. The ones that were though were beautiful. I loved the fish in the pond although it was very dirty water. We saw plentiful bunnies, chipmunks, birds, etc. I thought $6.50 was kinda too much being the flowers/foliage weren't the greatest but whatever.

My wife and I had a blast at the China lights exhibit. Very cool and worth it. Can not wait until my daughter is old enough to go to this next time it's around. And I'm definitely interested in seeing the gardens in the daytime now.

CHINA LIGHTS I was glad I paid the extra for the VIP it was worth it. We had a very large group but it still went smoothly. We decided to take a 2nd walk thru after our guide and that was more crowded. Also getting there earlier parking wasn't bad. There was a line to get in but that went quickly. Well worth it.

Expansive garden setting. Visited in mid-May so vegetation was not in full bloom. Went as part of a large group. Would go back in the evening since the guide stated free admission after 6pm most days.

Love the gardens. I go to the China lights during the day and they are fun to look at even with no lights on. I go in the building to pay but many people go in the outside gate and don't pay at all. I wish they would fix that. It's not a one time thing. I see it every time I go. 4 or 5 times a year.

The China Lights exhibit was very nice but I thought they needed a tea house exhibit, Chinese pagoda where yu could go and visit inside. Yu would be able to see th culture in a better way. I thought tht there were too many dinosaurs exhibits.
