Went to the China lights show and really enjoyed it. There were lots of people but it was still a pleasant night
We saw a late Fall hummingbird at Botanical Garden visiting the last of the summer flowers. Even in the daytime, the China Lights exhibit at the time, was impressive. As always, their gift shop features creative art and crafts and a good selection of jewelry, books, and cards. We bought a book on the history of Mr. Boerner.
Everywhere you looked at you saw beautiful flowers. The best viewing of flowers I have ever seen.
This great place to take a nice stroll through nature's peace and quiet. The air is fresh, the butterflies are abundant, the bee's are a buzzing.
You might even see a deer or two.
One of the best formal gardens in the area. And the rose garden is amazing. A must on the Milwaukee Bucket List!
Free concerts every Thursday during summer too!
5/5 when in the rest of the year, 6/5 in late may to late June. The gardens never fail to surprise us.
Omg!! Loved the China Lights! Amazing details! Breathtaking, Memorizing, Enchanting....
Cool place to visit, long line to get in mot so much fun.
The grounds are beautiful, love to see the fish and take the bog walk. The gift shop has many beautiful items.
It was an awful experience. There was maybe 5 traffic helpers directing traffic to NOWHERE!!!! It was so crowded nobody could park anywhere and the traffic of cars on the road went as far as the eye could see. This event needs a DIFFERENT venue. It can't accommodate the people that want to see it. People were waiting in line for HOURS. The way this event was set up is downright SHAMEFUL.
First year of China Lights at the Boerner Botanical Gardens-2016
China lights was awesome! So much fun for the entire family. We particularly enjoyed the live shows and red bridge. At the end, we spent some time at the tents selling various items. The woman selling the wire figures and devices was super sweet and her skill is absolutely stunning.
Didn't go for the actual gardens, went for the china lights event. It was awesome and will definitely be coming back again.
Went there when they held the china lights! It was beautifully done and had wonderful entertainment and food. Highly recommend.
The Gardens is no longer a safe place to walk. My daughter and I were assaulted by an unknown attacker and suffered injuries. The attack occurred on Saturday, two weeks ago, at about noon and happened between the old Garden building and the new pavilion, on the access road about 20 feet from the back of the Garden building (after exiting the path behind the new pavilion). The attacker screamed at us, after she thought we were looking at her, and then started yelling and screaming that she would destroy and end us, and then started charging us, grabbing and bruising my daughter's arm and badly injuring my back. I believe my back has been herniated with muscle tears. She ran off when we got on the phone with the police.
The attacker was a white female, about 5'8 and 115 pounds with a thin athletic build and wore a knee length copper colored parka with a shimmery tint to it and calf-length leggings, and a sun visor, with the visor over the eyes and the type with the hole cut out the top, and she had a rose colored phone (was noticed this during the attack and when she continued to follow us and taunt us).
The Gardens' supervisors and staff will not post anything and don't care. They are more worried about their public image than notifying others that there is a serious safety issue here. We are posting this to warn others and protect the public.
Beautiful Asia lights show at Boerner...definitely a must see.
Beautiful place to visit, even when china lights is not here
Came here to check out China Lights and it was a great experience.
Beautiful area, wonderful for those who enjoy nature and the outside world. Also great for those who enjoy walks, runs or the like.
Beautiful grounds. The China Light display was amazing and well organized.
Great to see all the beautiful lights at the china light event...it was so awesome to see
Do not go even if there is a chance of rain. We went, there was no bands, no refunds, no other rain dates we could go. It took the mood away. It is a terrible time of year to have it with all the rain off and on. I give it a 3, because it was so beautiful, even though we walked quickly through. It was the lack of refund that got me.
Went to see the china lights it was awesome but they dont check for VIP status when ur sitting for shows when there suppose to paid extra for VIP and had to stand
Well done. Reasonable variety of plants, comfortably arranged. Not too large. Nice place to.spens an hour or two with a friend.
Went there for the China Lights event. It was very nice and worth going at least once. Could have been a little more clear at the start as to where to go, but luckily the ranger was able to help us out. Overall very cool feature glad I went!
Good facility. Used this for a fundraising gala and the event went very well with good support from the staff throughout the night.
The park is amazing, but parking can be frustrating. But, it's worth it once you're in the park.
Very beautiful but very expensive good for a wedding but I recommend going in the fall Summers too hot
Nice all year. But check out the China lights whe. They come to town.
The China lights are spectacular. Looking forward to visiting the garden another day to enjoy the grounds
I love it all the dragons and colors it was nice to go and see
My sister's wedding was there and the venue was spectacular. My only issue was that some of Zilli's bar staff was inexperienced. They were friendly enough but numerous drinks we're poured incorrectly. However, the staff member named Bonnie was amazing.
Absolutely beautiful. So many different garden areas. Well maintained and was a great venue for the wedding I attended.
Parking for China Lights was a nightmare and staff was not helpful for first time visitors. Actual exhibit was fantastic!
Wonderful Botanic Garden to visit. Lots to see but small enough to see it all in one day.
This park has so much to offer. China Lights are of course amazing. The gardens are awesome. Every summer we walk around looking at the flowers and landscaping. We enjoy going to the nature center and walking around the pond, which takes about 1 hour. During the winter we cross-country ski in Whitnall Park. What an incredible display of lights, something everyone should see at least once. We were able to purchase tickets at a reduced rate on Groupon and enjoyed the lights, entertainment and refreshments. They had wine bars set up throughout and vendors with snacks and light fare food
Gorgeous place for a peaceful walk. It's early in the season for the roses and some plants but there are a ton of beautiful tulips and foliage to see.
Lights were beautiful. Not proper signage concerning parking, shuttle and handicap options. Need better options for park access.
Amazing experience, I go every year. Highly recommend buying tickets on Groupon
China Lights! Wonderful experience. Have been wanting to go for a few years now. Wish there were more food choices. However, the displays were beautiful.
We have yet to visit the gardens during the summer months, Last year we did our first visit during the light show. Grounds were really well layed out, lights were beautiful, we absolutely loved it and really look forward to more events there this year! We picked up a season pass to here and the mitchell domes!
Really great botanical garden. They have fun events like the Chinese light festival and the staff that works there is generally great. They have a really interesting selection of plants and arrangements that is rotated throughout the year. The test garden is always full of interesting things.
This was an amazing showing. Enjoyable for all ages!
I grew up riding my bike through and around this park. I m now an arborist. I wonder if... Was I influenced by this place? Go peep it a couple times throughout the seasons & they re changes! Your lucky to have this display/collection of plants nearby!
It was incredible. The colors and lights were absolutely beautiful. A must see.
I love this place I wish I could go there everyday in the summer or have my backyard look like this.
Especially in summer. Grab a book and enjoy. The Sunday brunch is a great value with exceptional quality!
Our first time there and we definitely be back. Tulips this time of year are beautiful and roses are coming- I just can't wait to see it too.
Very rude people didnt even go thew the lights ended up turning around we even wanted to go there in the rain but not as rude as they were
The gardens were a bit run down for a few years there but now they re looking great! The Thursday night concerts are one of my favorite summertime activities.
It is pretty but for events, we are paying customers and garbage should be picked up daily. I went on the bridge walkway and was looking at empty bottles and other peices of garbage. The lay out is pretty and I would suggest it but a clean up crew would be nice
Beautiful gardens, especially the gorgeous roses. They do very nice special events. Not very big, so can be visited in a decent amount of time.
