Best dealership in town! I had the best experience with Stephen Collins. He made my purchase easy, fun and stress free. Followed by an unexpected upgrade was an pleasant surprise. I went in initially looking at used pick ups and was put in contact with Tom Tracy. When we decided to switch gears he did a great job getting us in to the new vehicle that we really wanted. He made the process so easy on me and was very personable. I was impressed through to the end when we were were introduced to what I think they call the delivery coordinator, Jerrod. He was so friendly, explained all of the freatures and warranties of the truck, then helped set up On Star and my phone's Bluetooth. Today, I needed to get a copy of the odometer certificate from my trade and the woman who answered the phone, Sheila, went above and beyond to ensure I received it while on the phone with her since the finance team was all busy. I'm confident that the service I will continue to receive there will be no less than what I have already experienced.

Horrible experience with service, had to pay twice a deductible and some other expenses (not counting enterprise car rental) because their "experts" couldn't fix what was wrong with my truck the first time around, second time they had my truck for 21/2 weeks just to tell me that it needed a new engine, and another week and a half to complete the job...a really frustrated end and beginning of the year.

I purchased a vehicle on May 1, 2016 and to date I have yet to hear one word from my salesman. Haven't received a follow up thank you note, phone call, email, absolutely nothing. I guess my $50,000 purchase wasn't important. Other than lack of follow up, the buying process went smoothly. I appreciate that I was able to drive the vehicle for a couple of days before making a final decision.

My first experience buying a vehicle ( '52 1/2 ton Chevy) was in 1968 so I've been at this for a while. There were more snags in my recent purchase than any other. First, the vehicle was not on the lot; it was soon-to-be delivered. That may have contributed to the problem, as may have Covid. We paid $100 to put a hold on the pickup, and after it had arrived at Bob Brown and we had looked at it and picked out the accessories we wanted, we got a phone call telling us that two salesmen had sold the same pickup and that we were SOL. However, they had located a very similar pickup (slightly more appointed) for $1000 less than the agreed-upon price. OK. When that pickup arrived we found out (with absolutely no help from a rude, surly tech at the main store) that the gooseneck/5th wheel hitch in our old pickup would not work in the new pickup. The best resolution was to install a B&W Turnover Ball and Companion hitch, and Robert and I easily negotiated a price. On the road home with the pickup on July 31, I noticed that the pickup consistently pulled to the right. I tested the pickup pulling our camper that weekend and was convinced the added displacement, HP, and most importantly torque made it a very good replacement. I had no experience with the B&W hitch and was given no instruction (face-to-face or in print) from the dealership. Also got no in-writing hitch warranty. However, I checked a couple online videos and became concerned about the lack of a turnover ball. I also was concerned about trailer tire pressure sensor that should have been with the pickup since it had the advanced training package. We took the pickup back to Bob Brown yesterday, August 6,to have the alignment adjusted. That seems to have improved the way it tracks. Thank you. While in Des Moines, we went to the accessories store to find out about the trailer tire sensors. We were told there that if they were not in the pickup we would have to purchase them ($240 - 300.) I had a couple days earlier been assured by a salesman at the store that the turnover ball I had been concerned about was an integral part of the B&W Companion hitch. This morning I removed the Companion hitch and found that the online videos were correct and the salesman was wrong; the turn-over ball is missing, so I have to make another trip to Des Moines before I can pull our gooseneck trailer. I have to add here that through all the negotiating and maneuvering through the SNAFUs, our salesman three times promised to call me back with information I requested and failed to do so. We have now a pickup that I think we'll be very happy with once we put time between us and the purchase experience. However, we are out $100 for the original hold on the pickup (I don't remember it being subtracted from the purchase price), approximately $100 for what should have been unnecessary trips to Des Moines (first for alignment, now to get hitch ball that should have been with the hitch), and $300 for trailer tire pressure sensor that I thought were included. Maybe I was generous with my scoring in the first two questions. This was our third pickup purchase from Bob Brown in the last 10 years. The others were uneventful, satisfactory, the kind I would have scored highly. Perhaps that is why this one is such a disappointment.

Spoke with John Smith over the phone, letting him know I was just kicking tires right now. At no point did I ever feel like he was pressuring us or trying to make a sale! My wife and I showed up to look at a potential vehicle. We were given the keys to test drive, John knowing we were still just looking, again never asked to make a deal. After a quick drive, we sat down and discussed numbers, then left, letting him know we ll touch base in a few days.
We decided to make an offer, which was really easy with the competitive pricing they use! We came to an agreement! Drove down to sign papers and within an hour we were in the road back home.
These guys know what they are doing. No pressure. Little, to no, negotiation. No annoying emails, calls, and texts asking me to Come back in, we have a new vehicle you might be interested in.
Without a doubt we will be happy to return to Bob Brown Chevy and use John Smith when searching for our next vehicle!

This was my second vehicle purchase from Bob Brown but unfortunately I didn t have the same service as my first purchase. The sales person was great but when it came down to the financing of my used car is where the issue arose. The finance manger basically threw a bunch of papers and told me to sign. An hour later I decided to look at my documents a little closer, which is completely my fault not looking them over at the table and noticed a $1000 charge for gap insurance that was never once discussed. Second I noticed the interest rate was much higher than what I knew I qualified for. I decided to call the bank that it was going to be financed through and go over the terms. Of course my rate through the dealership was a 1% higher than what the bank actually approved me for. The lady even said that the dealership has the authority to increase the rate!?! I called the finance manager back and asked for these clarifications and he had no answer as to why but would call the bank and see what was going on. He then wanted the name of the person at the bank so he could call her out as this is a typically practice amongst dealerships. He also tried to tell me that he explained the gap policy to me which was not the case, I think anyone would remember adding $1000 to there loan. I was able to get gap insurance through my local insurance agent for an extra $1 a month on my policy. To make a long story short I had to go back in 2 other times to correct the financing to what was supposed to be what was negotiated . In the end Bob Brown tried to increased the rate and try to add a gap policy to make more money on the deal without my knowledge. If you buy through them make sure to use your own financing. What s worse is there I didn t even get an apology. So much for looking out for your customers.

I generally don't enjoy the car shopping experience but Mike was no pressure, answered all my questions and was very easy to work with. It was a pleasant experience. I have no experience with the sales side, but I would avoid them like the plague for "service". I had a conversation with the service manager Randy yesterday and he was very confrontational. He made it clear they were not responsible to help me despite visits in May and June. His main priority seemed to be that I knew if they did anything I would have to pay again.
A shop deals with people under stress and should keep that in mind. If you're a dealer that's got my best interests at heart, take that tact and at least pretend to have some empathy. The repairs I got were questionable in my opinion but the service I got was totally unacceptable, without question.

This was my personal second vehicle purchase from bob brown, and my family s probably fifteenth vehicle purchase. Never going back. Our sales guy Alberto was super awesome, really nice guy and very patient. The financing guy who signed the papers with us at the preowned section (I think his name was joe) was extremely rude. Wanted me to sign the title to our trade before even discussing interest rates. Said we had two options come back (both were about $100-150 more than anticipated) and I figured out those were the numbers for the extended warranty. After I said no to the warranty then he turned very rude, very disrespectful sarcasm, telling me my old plates got thrown away and that they re gone isn t funny. Didn t apreciate him, and the fact that I asked if I got all my paper work and he gave me cut offs of all of my paperwork that I signed CUTTING OFF ALL OF THE LEGAL DOCUMENTS AND SIGNATURES! You can t do that to people! And I was furious that he didn t give me an odometer disclosure that is required by law. The temp tag we got said 1/2018 instead of 1/20/2019. Extremely frustrated. Never coming back either. I work for a used car dealership and I demanded the rollback on autocheck (because bob brown messed up on the mileage) to be fixed and I got lied to and told it was fixed when it wasn t. I am a title clerk, so I m surprised that they tried to mess with me that much. Never coming back!

What can I say about Bob Brown Chevy? Other than what a fantastic place to do business with. We traveled from Chicago Illinois all the way here for a 2019 Jeep srt. Ben the salesman made this purchase so easy an quick. We drove 4 1/2 hours an we re not disappointed with the our vehicle or the customer service. I'm a complete royal pain, and VERY picky when it comes to making such a large purchase, but Jeff and Jeff (sales rep, and the sales Manager) came through and delivered us a deal we just couldn't walk away from. During the process, we shopped 4 other dealerships for a Chevy Silverado 1500. It was like I was interupting their social time to help me . Never buy again from Bob Brown. We've been leasing both our cars from Bob Brown for well over 10 years. Each time we "reup" the experience improves. Going from taking several hours to consummate the lease to taking 1/2 hour this time we couldn't have been more pleased. Since we were in a bit of a time crunch, Eddie, our sales consultant had gathered all the info he needed and gave Dave in finance a heads up. Besides the great experience, we also got a wonderful deal. We changed brands due to changes in our situation, but basically, Chevrolet waived our last three lease payments on the old car, paid our first month lease payment on the new car, and required nothing down. We literally walked our with a new car without opening our wallet...and the car payment went down $35/month! It just doesn't get any better than that.

Finished it and then best and final was $4,000 worse than their create your deal on the website. Talk about a bait and switch move. Be careful if you've gone that route as I've had far better trade values elsewhere.

We won t use the service department in your Ankeny location due to a couple of bad experiences with our 2017 Lacrosse so we tried to have our oil change done there. We called for an appointment and were told you don t take appointments so came during the time suggested. We were told it would be an hr and a half wait. Why on earth don t you make appointments? Guess we ll try George White Chevrolet in Ames! So much for serving what you sell ! That is Not my idea of good service!

I spent over $3,000 on 2 visits (6 months apart) to fix an issue with my 2002 Saturn Vue. The first time they said they fixed the issue but then the car began to have the exact same problem so I let them fix it again. I am once again having issues with the car so I took it to another garage in town and they found many issues with the motor. As soon as the mechanic popped the hood he said that the oil valve cover gaskets were leaking profusely and that any competent mechanic should have seen this. I hope this is the last thing wrong with the car and, although I have to spend another $600 on repairs, at least I don't have to shell out thousands at Bob Brown. Would I recommend this dealership? No.

Fast. Fair. Honest. Thats Michael McNeley. I bought a Camaro from him at Karls, and when he switched to Bob Brown, I didn't hesitate to come straight to him. He got me the perfect car(2014 Cruze. Love it!!) for a very fair price, a great deal on my trade in, worked with me through all my questions. Always on point and ready to help. No doubt my next car will be bought from him as well.
