I felt very comfortable at Bob Brown. I didn't have anyone pushy coming out to talk to me when I was browsing in the lot. When I came in to talk to someone, I was greeted promptly. Irwin Zuckerman was incredibly helpful as I was looking. He was also excellent with my daughter. With Irwin, there was absolutely no pressure. I was looking into leasing for the first time, and he simply gave me the information I wanted, ran some numbers, and gave me the information. I left and looked around a bit more at other dealerships. After thinking about it, I called back to Irwin, returned to the dealership, and we worked out a deal. He was completely honest, incredibly helpful, and extremely patient with my questions. I even got the value I wanted on my trade-in. The Chevy Trax I wanted was not in stock, so I had to wait for it to come in. However, it was just 1 business day before they were able to get it. The day of delivery, Tony gave me my options as far as coverage goes on the lease. He was persuasive, but not pressuring. When I declined the coverage, he simply moved on and we finished the paperwork. After taking a brief tour of the facilities, I was shown how to use the features of the vehicle. Kyle was very helpful and knowledgeable. I left the dealership very pleased with my entire experience.

Bob Brown is a shady business, they blatantly lied to my brother who sold his car to them, the same day he went back with regret of what he had done an was willing to pay money to get his car back, they lied to him and said the car had been sold and was gone. 3 weeks later the car is sitting in there used car lot. My brother made a mistake and was willing to pay for it to get his car back the same day and they lied to his face. Safe to say I wont do business with shady people and I would tell anybody i know not to go to them. It starts from the top.

This was my first time working with a dealer and I can honestly say it went really smooth. Salesman have bad reputations of being sharks or shady, but out there at Bob Brown, the atmosphere is friendly and I didn't feel pressured into buying anything during any step of the process. The first time I walked in the doors, all of the salesman were great to talk to and still were interested in casual conversation even after knowing I was working with another salesman. I worked directly with Jay Witte and will recommend him to anyone, as well as, do business with him in the future. He didn't try to sell me a car out of my price range and answered any questions thoroughly that I had on the vehicles. He was always quick to respond and even in the event that the car I originally was interested in got sold, he found another car with the same specs that I was interested in. The dealership as a whole is clean, organized, and has plenty of knowledgeable people. The finance department got me in and out and I drove home the day I signed without hassle. From start to finish, Bob Brown Chevrolet delivered on their promise of customer service and I am very happy I chose Bob Brown!

I was able to stop by the collision center without an appointment to get an estimate on the recent damage to my vehicle. I got the estimate within 15-20 min. After I contacted my insurance company, they were able to communicate with Bob Brown without me being the 'middle man'.
I was not able to get my car in for repair right away, but that was fine because the damages did not impair my car. I dropped it off on a Monday and they said it would take most of the week. I got a call Thursday late afternoon that it was ready!
You can't even tell there was any damage to the car! I love the work they did, they released the car to me even cleaner that it was when I dropped it off. Great job!

Customer Service is less than expected from a deal...

Customer Service is less than expected from a dealership this big. We purchased 2011 Silverado in Oct 2013. It is now 6/2014. we have 35K on it. It will not start. My husband called for service, has been on hold for 10 min. I called from home and was put into a hold system and after 5 min I hung up and called back. Rang 18 times before being picked up. When I explained the urgency to our call, we needed a tow truck IMMEDIATELY, it was broke down in traffic, I was advised they are doing the best they can. She offered to take my number, which I gave to her. I then asked how that would be delivered to the correct person, thinking maybe she was going to hand deliver it, was I way wrong! She 'via email' and the service manager would check it when he had time. REALLY! Are you kidding me!? Thanks but not thanks Bob Brown Service and phone system attendee. Get with the 21st century. No one wants to be on the phone system merry-go-round ESPECIALLY in a situation with urgency.

Good customer service extremely poor value for the car that you own that you're trying to trade in for I just had the worst experience that they ever I was offered $12,000 for my car 36,000 miles and it's an excellent shape I am handicapped I emailed the guy in Kansas City Missouri that I'm going to see if on the weekend next weekend basically he said sight unseen I took pictures posted them on Facebook and he said I will give you 15 8 for the car and 19:9 for a brand new 2018 Equinox color blue I wanted I wonder why nobody in Des Moines can do that curious shop away people the internet your best friend by the way the carfax report on my vehicle no accidents $15,795.12 in excellent condition

Brought vehicle in because of binding feel/noise when turning. Felt like something with transmission or all-wheel drive system. Service adviser and service team told me it was because of brand of tires. Fixed front end alignment. Vehicle acted up again three days after it was serviced at Bob Brown. Took it somewhere else and they notified me the tires are fine but the rear end was completely shot. Had to get a complete new rear end. Glad I wasn't tricked in to buying brand new tires and wasting even more money.

overall disappointing. took over 4 hours to buy a used car and only looked at 1 car. disorganized. salesman wouldn't provide answers to many questions before meeting. very friendly and fun guy but we had a bad experience. also the finance guy runs thru his required pitch like he's done it 100x today and doesnt want to be here or help. was confusing. easy to see how people could get duped into financing and warranties that they dont want. very uncomfortable and untrustworthy group overall. price also seemed a bit unreasonable but we needed to make a move soon so we caved. these were the MAIN issues.

During my last service I or my car needed a wiring harness. I found one (NEW) for @ $68.00. The Service Rep. Cory Decided to use a used one he found for $150.00. I have been using Bob Brown for more than 30 years. No Longer. Karl Chevrolet will be getting all my business from now on. The new harness was found by Karl's service department.

We bought a Tahoe from them on July 19th, 2014. Here it is September 3rd, 2014 and they have not sent the title for the Tahoe to our county treasurer. I called and they didn't even have the title when they sold the vehicle to us. It was still at the lender from the previous owner. After numerous calls, they have gotten the lien release but no title. Have to have a new one printed at the previous owners county. I am now running illegal on registration that was for our previous vehicle. I feel that we would be in a worse position if I had not made the initial call to get things rolling. We certainly will not be doing business with them ever again. My words of advice, make sure you see the title before you sign any papers to make sure they have it if you do business with them.

If your not rich, they don't care. There are plenty of us out there that need help with our cars so we can try to make money at work. They don't care. And don't believe any of their ads. I stopped in and test drove my truck and decided to wait until the next day to make a decision. Once I decided to buy it, John made it a easy buying experience. He also went over the features on the truck and helped me hook up the Bluetooth.

The service is great and any time I have taken my vehicles there they have been repaired to my satisfaction. My only complaint is that two of the issues I had them look into came down to two fuses. The fuses themselves cost $1.02 each, however they charged me 1/2 hour of labor each, at a rate of fifty-some dollars X2. So, I paid over a hundred dollars for them to replace two fuses. I understand, I should have checked the fuses myself, and I also understand that is the cost of doing business at a dealership. That being said, I'll be more likely to return to a smaller mechanic for the cost savings. The staff are very courteous and friendly. I'd give 5 stars if some reasonableness would be offered for such a minor repair.

The service department & quick lube always provide great service. Kyle took care of an issue that was caused by another shop that wanted to charge me triple than what Bob Brown charged me. I will never take my car anywhere else! Highly recommend to anyone in need of service.

I needed to have some service done on my Silverado so Monday morning, I called to set up a service appointment, I was asked to leave my name and number and told that all the service advisers were busy and someone would call me back. I waited until 5:00 without hearing back from anyone. So I set up an appointment online, which within an hour someone called me to confirm the appointment and apologize for not calling me back. So, Friday, I dropped off my vehicle at 10:00 AM and got a ride back to work. Around 4:30 PM I was getting concerned, no one had called me to update me on my vehicle, I didn't know if there was a problem, if I would get my vehicle back that evening... So, I called and asked to speak to my service adviser and I got his voice mail... was he on the phone? did he already go home? so I called back again, and asked to speak to someone in the service area, I was transferred to someone so I explained that I dropped off my vehicle this morning, I haven't heard anything all day, I'd like to know that status of my vehicle. He asked who my service adviser was, so I told him and he transferred me to that voice mail again. So I called back again, asked for my service adviser, left a voice message stating that I needed to know about my vehicle, it was soon going to be 5:00 and I needed to be downtown to pick up my wife. 10-15 minutes later, I was finally called back and told that my vehicle was ready to go... So, when I arrived, I went to the service desk and told them that my vehicle was ready to pick up, they looked for paper work but couldn't find it, so they told me to see my service adviser, so I went to his office and he told me that my truck was ready to go and to go to the service desk.... I explained that the service desk sent me to see him... he looked for my paper work and could not find it. Someone else walked in the office and said the truck was still in the back and they were still working on the paper work, I was sent back to the service desk waiting room...another 10-15 minute wait and I was finally able to get my vehicle and leave. I forgot to mention that when I was finally called back, he did explain the issues with the vehicle and that it was covered by warranty, so that was good, but the lack of communication and disorganization was very disappointing and frustrating.

My wife and I always go through Bob Brown for our vehicles. She recently bought a new Trax and I just purchased a pre owned truck from they're Merle Hay location. We never have any issues dealing with them and always have amazing service with whatever we need done. The staff there is friendly and very nice and easy to work with, both sales and service. My sales guy (Ben) even hung around until everything was done and signed at the Merle Hay location and was happy to help me get into a new vehicle. I've never had a bad experience at any Bob Brown location and I don't think I ever will.

I had a terrible experience. It took over 8 hours for my vehicle to be 'fixed' but also caused me to miss an event that cost me $274 for the ticket and I was unable to get a refund. The repairs did not require parts so should have been a quick job. Same day and $304 later, my vehicle is STILL having the same problem. I purchased my 'Certified' vehicle from this dealer and have had nothing but issues! I vow to NEVER purchase from this dealership again as well as heavily consider if they will be my choice when needing regular vehicle maintenence and repairs.

We just bought a new Chevy Silverado in March for Steve and we decided it was time to start looking for my wifes's new vehicle which was going to be about a year out. Jan was completely confused on what she wanted. I was going out to Bob Brown's to have them look at something on the truck and we stopped by to look at Tahoe's. Jan found a red Tahoe that she sort of fell in love with and wanted to sit in it to try it out. We went to Jason Christensen and had him come out with the keys and once again Jason did his magic of selling us a vehicle. It is beyond my understanding how Jason can sell someone a vehicle but act like he isn't selling you anything. He cares, and he is just an honest to goodness, down home good guy. No BS just answers your questions and talks with you. He knows what he is doing and he knows his product. Everyone that we dealt with at Bob Browns from the receptionist to the shop & parts department & finance was wonderful. We will soon be bringing our fudge to Jason as a thank you to such a wonderful business. Make sure that he knows you know about the fudge and make sure he shares it when he gets it. While I would love to give a glowing review about this dealership, I can't. My purchase experience was beyond amazing. Everyone from the receptionist to the salesman were always smiling and willing to help.

Having my car come in for maintenance on the other hand was a different experience. I work in customer service, so it makes me overjoyed to see others working the same position as well and excelling at it. However, I don't believe I received a genuine smile from the person I was working with until it was almost time for me to leave. I felt like I was nothing more than a burden after stating that I was going to stay until the car was done. He claimed that he will 'go try and find someone' despite the fact that I had an appointment and the job would only take a matter of minutes. It was a reprogramming issue in the car... not changing tires or anything else that could take awhile.

I understand that training can be rather distracting when dealing with actual customers. However, I shouldn't get the reaction of 'we're training so everyone is busy' attitude when I have scheduled an appointment for something that only takes minutes.

What also lead me to giving a more honest review is amount of 'give us a perfect rating!' messages I received. It's on the receipt, emails, a phone call, and even mentioned while I was there. I don't want to have to contact people individually for them to make things right. My review doesn't need to be bought out by free car washes or future services. Being pressured into giving a totally positive review just pushed me into be honest.

I truly do love this dealership. The facility is spotless and so perfectly organized. However, I will definitely be taking my car to our local repair shop rather than returning here.

$60 oil change is high. It'd be good to have been told pricing ahead of time. The tire pressure was said to be at 35. The screen inside the vehicle said different numbers. I was told that a commercial will be ran on discounts for oil changes in the near future. It is not a discount.

Recently had a bad experience with a salesman name Patrick. We test drove a vehicle that was a little above our price range because no one could find the vehicle we came to look at. When we got back, I pointed out the check engine light flashed at me and the passenger side seat belt clip was twisted the wrong way on the belt. Just wanted him to know so he could tell a mechanic and he acted like I was picking the car apart. Met him at the lot on Merle Hay where the vehicle was that we originally came to look at. He forewarned us that it was not ready for sale as it needed cleaned at touched up. After I made a REASONABLE cash in hand offer on this vehicle, he almost acted offended and started talking to me with a very condescending tone like he was sick of me. I expected to play the numbers game but didn t even get that. His attitude alone is what killed the sale. Not that we couldn t have come to a number, not the condition of the car, just the bratty way he talked down to me. Other than that, the used cars seem to be in very good condition. You can tell they take some time on them before they go up for sale and that is why I gave a 2 star rating instead of a 1.

After purchasing the car with very minor cosmetic problems. It took almost 2 full weeks, and having to send the car back (after receiving it with absolutely no work done to it) before I finally got it in almost like new condition. Would steer clear of this dealer in the future.

No other dealer in town had any to even look at. My salesperson Mike and his manager Chad are highly professional and knowledgable of the product and process to help me buy my truck in a very short period of time. John Loterbour and Dave Vetter did everything they could to make all of those things happen.
