My wife (who is an immigrant and who s first language is not English) was just a victim of poor decision making by this company. They follow the fine print instead of having integrity to be accountable for their own mistakes. Their company website said her insurance was still active the day of my wife s appointment and we did not know when her last official day of work was as she was between jobs . Instead of admitting that their computer shouldn t show the card active if it s not, they should train their customers how to login and turn the card off instead of pushing the blame on the customer. I am a native to Chattanooga and I must say there are some great people that work for BCBS of TN. But the company has grown so big that there is no integrity left in the managerial decision making. If you are an employer I would strongly suggest that you look for other options where you will find a more down-to-earth and fair-minded insurance company that cares about your employees.

I have sleep apnea and have an oral appliance that is covered by my insurance policy. While using the appliance it broke inside of my mouth and was replaced with a new appliance. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee claimed "normal wear and tear" WAS COVERED. But I needed to file a Grievance after 9 months of negotiating with my "doctor's office". To prove to them it broke under normal wear and tear.
My doctor's office did a pre authorization with the company. Has appealed this multiple times. I was told I had a 180 days to get this resolved During a pandemic??? Really?
Today I am filing a grievance with insurance commissioner.
Do yourself a favor, find different health insurance. I do NOT recommend this company.

I have sent you a grievance letter (level one). After working with your customer advocates. I to date have spoken to many supervisors and customer service reps as well. Your company is horrible to deal with. If you want to do the right thing instead of hours on the phone with no results. Absolutely horrible customer service. We've been waiting on a RX reimbursement for over 5 months. We have asked to speak to a supervisor and have been told they are "all in a meeting." This company cares nothing about people's health.

Not a great place to work for. My wife worked as a contractor there for over 2 years and they treated the contractors differently. Other employees got to celebrate holidays and other events with the company and the contractors didn't. They work just as hard if not harder than there actual employees.

My job let me go do to illness.i was allowed to switching over to Cobra keeping my same coverage with blue Cross long as I pay which is fine.. They mail the paperwork out to you. Once your coverage ends. Which takes 5 to 10 business days from them to process. During this time you don't have any coverage. Blue Cross will reimburse money for your visit... That's if the doctors will see you at all. Like why in the hell does blue Cross wait to send paperwork after your last date. Common sense would be people need the paper work before. So everything is already in order when switching over. Instead of being forced into a situation with no Insurance. For 5 to 10 days

Like to have someone from the company return a calll or ck into Michelle Tarabishi and why she can get away with defrauding the company by adding children to a policy that are not, have not and will never have any relationship tp her. And Blue Cross never questioned a relationship status before they accepted a ninteen yr old and paid millions out only to have legitimate pollicy holders have to pay for this with their premiums????? I really struggle to get studies approved (I'm working on my 3rd denial currently with constant hoop jumping) for my toddler who has achondroplasia dwarfism. He has diagnoses of obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, hydrocephalus, foramen magnum stenosis, recurrent otitis media, lower extremity bowing, etc. He had a foramen magnum decompression surgery at 7 months old due to his spinal cord being compressed at the outlet of his skull, and they are still denying his c-spine MRI request. Either the clinicians authorizing the exams do not understand basic anatomy, or the company is in the business of denying care to children in order to save a dollar. Either possibility is unacceptable.

Most of the time I get good customer service on the phone if I want to ask a question about my bill or something else. I DID NOT the first time I called today. The girl was rude and Impatient and that was just the operator. Then I got in touch
with a representative from BCBS to talk about a claim question and she was just as rude.
I hung the phone up and called yet another representative. She was a lot kinder and patient as well as not giving me a bad attitude like I other female.
BCBS please screen your representatives and operators, the are a big reflection of YOUR company!!!

I m 28 years old. They stop helping with dental at 21 because they know after 21 is when the real problems with teeth and eyes happen. I ve been trying to get help with my tmj in my jaw and it s very painful and I m always given the run around. Call here, talk to these people, get a referral, and I m so tired of it. If I had the proper money to get my jaw fixed I would have it done but I m stuck here with migraines everyday and calling a thousand different numbers daily praying someone will answer and will help me fix my jaw. I appreciate the medical coverage but please look into helping the ones that need dental and eye coverage. Being in pain everyday is literally making me depressed.

I called BCBS for a denial of a claim related to taking my son to the doctor for obesity. They claim that my employer at the time Community Health System built this as an exclusion to the policy. So you take your child to the doctor for help with obesity and concern of diabetes and insurance denies it because one of the largest employers of healthcare built obesity diagnosis as an exclusion to their employees policies. Astounding!

Policy states that insurance pays x amount for y services, but they don't & so the entire bill is left for the patient to pay for-unacceptable! They somehow control when prescriptions, even normal maintenance meds, can be refilled, which leads to not having medication until they allow it- unacceptable! Case managers for severe cases are completely useless and don't even put forth effort-inexcusable! Their left hand doesn't know what their right hand is doing. BCBS has acted more like a barrier to healthcare and it is shameful! I can't believe how bad it truly is!
