I really struggle to get studies approved (I'm working on my 3rd denial currently with constant hoop jumping) for my toddler who has achondroplasia dwarfism. He has diagnoses of obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, hydrocephalus, foramen magnum stenosis, recurrent otitis media, lower extremity bowing, etc. He had a foramen magnum decompression surgery at 7 months old due to his spinal cord being compressed at the outlet of his skull, and they are still denying his c-spine MRI request. Either the clinicians authorizing the exams do not understand basic anatomy, or the company is in the business of denying care to children in order to save a dollar. Either possibility is unacceptable.
