I have sleep apnea and have an oral appliance that is covered by my insurance policy. While using the appliance it broke inside of my mouth and was replaced with a new appliance. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee claimed "normal wear and tear" WAS COVERED. But I needed to file a Grievance after 9 months of negotiating with my "doctor's office". To prove to them it broke under normal wear and tear.
My doctor's office did a pre authorization with the company. Has appealed this multiple times. I was told I had a 180 days to get this resolved During a pandemic??? Really?
Today I am filing a grievance with insurance commissioner.
Do yourself a favor, find different health insurance. I do NOT recommend this company.

Let me respond to your reply:
I have sent you a grievance letter (level one). After working with your customer advocates. I to date have spoken to many supervisors and customer service reps as well. Your company is horrible to deal with. If you want to do the right thing instead of hours on the phone with no results.
