Blue Mountain Resort Introduces a New LED Lighting...
Blue Mountain Resort Introduces a New LED Lighting System, including 1,260 LuxLogic Ultimate Ski Hill LED Flood Lights made by LuxLogic Lighting - a Toronto-based OEM LED Lighting manufacturer.
This project ensures energy sustainability(65%+ saving) while providing superior night skiing and snowboarding experience
Skiers and snowboarders at Blue Mountain Resort, Ontario s largest mountain resort, will be able to enjoy an even better on-hill experience this winter, thanks to the new LED lighting system. The LuxLogic Ultimate Ski Hill LED Flood Lights will give skiers and snowboarders a clearer and brighter experience during night skiing while meeting Blue Mountain s commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
At Blue Mountain, the impact of our environmental footprint is always an important consideration when it comes to the Resort s development and growth, says Dan Skelton, President and CEO of Blue Mountain Resort. We have implemented, and continue to evaluate, a number of initiatives to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This season, we are very proud to introduce a night ski lighting system that consumes 65% less energy, using fixtures that last much longer and deliver a far superior experience for our on-hill guests.
Blue Mountain took part in an energy conservation program, administered by Hydro One, to replace 688 metal halide lights. Resort staff and Hydro One teams worked together to make the switch to a LED lighting system.
Hydro One is here to help our customers, business and residential, to improve their electricity efficiency, said Charles Coimbra, Conservation Demand Manager, Hydro One Business Program Delivery. That s why we worked together with Blue Mountain Resort to help find a solution to lower their energy use, while supporting an economically viable initiative that will change the night-time experience skiers have at Blue Mountain Resort.
Blue Mountain Resort believe this new LED lighting solution can improve customer s night skiing experience and safety while decreasing environmental impact.
Additional benefits of the new LED lighting system include:
1. Clearer light is projected more uniformly on the ski hill, making it easier to detect other skiers or objects, such as equipment and trees.
2. The LuxLogic Ski Hill LED Flood Lights include a visor that helps prevents ice and dirt build-up that reduces maintenance. These visors also minimize sky glow for neighbouring properties.
3. The colour temperature of the LuxLogic Ski Hill LED Flood Light is specially optimized to interact with white snow and typical colours of clothing. This makes surroundings look brighter and crisper for skiers and snowboarders.
In addition, LED lights can help reduce environmental and health risks to people and animals.
1. LEDs help prevent light from emitting into natural animal habitats, allowing for natural nocturnal behaviours in wildlife.
2. LEDs reduce both energy and CO2 emissions, and can last approximately four to five times longer than metal halide lights.
3. LEDs do not contain toxic materials and eliminate the risk of mercury or other harmful elements from entering landfills and water systems.
Night skiing is scheduled to begin at Blue Mountain Resort on December 13, 2018, weather and conditions permitting. Skiers and snowboarders will be able to enjoy nightly skiing Mondays through Sundays from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

First time visiting in the summer. Facility is pretty good. However, it is a bit pricey for everything. Should not expect cheap price for a tourist attraction anyway. Food in the cafe is below average. But their salad is excellent. You pick you green and the toppings, they toss it right in front of you. Super value for 8 bucks.

I'm writing a review for this because it was my first experience at this resort. A friend paid for it, the experience was wonderful and all that, other than an extra hour to wait for the room to be ready. Reason I'm giving this review a 2 star is because of the fact it has a kitchen, pots and pans, etc. And it was NOT clean. I should have taken a picture instead of taken the time to clean these items even the plates and utensils. All the pots were so dirty, it had left over food stuck on it. It was disgusting, I suggest you double check everything before you use it, the utensils had grime on it, plates had stuff on it, garbage still had garbage. I would assume for a main class stay at a resort of their brand, it would maintain an image to do specific things. It was just that, that really bothered me and my friends that stayed. So for anyone that goes there, I recommend checking if everything is clean properly even the beds, you'll never know what you will find.

Great place to stay. A lot of winter activities. Hotel and food are pricey, but I prefer to spend a bit more rather than driving to a cheaper place in the middle of snowstorm.

We have stayed at Blue Mountain in the village hot...
We have stayed at Blue Mountain in the village hotels three times prior to this and never had any issues. Spent 3 nights mid-week here for my husband and I's first wedding anniversary, we decided to spend a little more to get a one-bedroom village room which stated it had a full balcony, fireplace, full kitchen and king sized bed. However, upon arriving in our room in the Weider Lodge we were very disappointed to see that we did not have a balcony as our booking had stated we would have. We tried turning on the fireplace, but the smell that came from it was so disgusting we had to turn it off almost immediately. The beds were comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep, however the noise in our building was ridiculous. Our A/C and heat unit made so much noise when it turned on and off it startled us awake every time. We also found out our room was below a linen and supplies room, as well as beside another linen room...this wouldn't have been an issue except for the fact that there were staff constantly in and out loudly banging and walking around from 5am right through until nearly 11pm. We both slept terribly. We even tried calling the front desk a couple of times, only to get no answer. The building itself looked very tired and worn, as well as some of the restaurants in the village.
The highlight of our trip was eating at the C & A steakhouse which was fantastic, we had great service and great food. Everything apart from this was poor, mediocre at best, and definitely not worth the money we paid.
We were glad to have been able to get away for our anniversary, but next time we definitely won't be heading to Blue Mountain.

I've been here a few times. Loved it the first time for a short getaway. Stayed for one day. There's not much to do in the summer, so I'd suggest looking for activities to do in and around the area before booking your stay.

5 stars for the quality and variety of slopes in ontario. 1 star for how disorganized the lifties are in terms of getting the lines moving. Was in line at the lift near the village and didn't move for 20 minutes as people were watching the event going on, yet other lines were moving and people were just sliding in to get up the lift.

Highly recommend it. If you are staying the night, try to go up early to rent and ski/snowboard. Rental can be really busy and waiting line up to an hour and half.

If you didnt plan to stay overnight, I would strongly suggest you to check up the weather (to see if there were any rain or warm up 3 days prior), the snow would become icey and not friendly if there were rains. The trails are pretty fun and long enough compare to the other sites in Ontario. If you want to rent equipments, there is one store that is nearby (not in it) offers better services.(I forgot the name, I'm sorry) You can try out.

I loved this place, clean and comfy. Rooms are big. The only complaint I have is about the outside hot tube, because is open until 11 pm and my room was just in front of it and the there were a group of people having their own party, it was very noisy, they had music, they were screaming... so my baby can't sleep until they finished by 11 pm.

Over priced, but available.
Unfortunately this is the only place in Ontario you can go skiing/snowboarding that has a 'Village' setup with multiple hotels/restauraunts/shops. This is the sole reason this place gets 3/5.
There are spectacular resort villages in Europe, but to say this is Canada and not Europe is okay. The thing is, in Vancouver, Edmonton, and even Montreal there are much better resort villages than this. Furthermore, the prices at Blue Mountain, which isn't even a real mountain are MORE expensive than alot of these places. So you're paying more money for lift tickets, hotels and restauraunts at a ski hill that you get down to before one song is done on your iphone, whilst at a proper mountain you pay less. Makes sense? Nope!

I love blue mountain for snowboarding. I drive up from Oakville or Mississauga usually atleast once if not two or three times. It's a consistent 2 hour drive, never any traffic during the week which I love. As for the mountain, it's the best place around, not that there is a lot of competition. The lifts are fast, all faster than the standard, the staffs nice, the runs are long and varied, and the scenery is great!

It is always nice to visit here. There are trails, restaurants, shops, ice cream, and water play areas. The gondola ride down the mountain used to be free if you hike all the way up, but now it is $8. I used to go much more often and hike up for my cardio workout and then get a coffee and breakfast before starting my day. Since they put the $8 gondola charge in effect, I have not been back for that reason. Too bad. I still go but maybe once a month now for other things rather than three times oer week.

Decent mountain. Best we have in Ontario, but that...
Decent mountain. Best we have in Ontario, but that's not saying a lot. I was very annoyed by their pricing last time I went. The normal price of $70 for an 8-hour lift ticket (except Fri., Sat., and holidays) is already outrageous when compared to much bigger (and much better) mountains in Quebec and Vermont. I went on a Sunday (Jan. 7) and bought a lift ticket and was shocked when the total came up to $90! When I asked the rep why it was so expensive (it wasn't a Fri., Sat., or holiday) she told me that it was the last day before school started and they consider that a holiday?! Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. Crooks and thieves. Not going back there unless it's a weekday and I buy tickets in advance for $50. This mountain is not worth more than $50.

Lines were ridiculously long and conditions were average at best. However, these issues are out of Blue's control. The village was lively and has come a long way since a few years back. Rooms were tidy and service was impeccable as always. The price point is too high, but when you have a monopoly on the best Hill in Ontario, that tends to happen. If the conditions were less icey and if there was half as many people, this would definitely be a 4 out of 5.

Worse experience I have ever had! I waited for two hours on the Lane and what I got the cashier for pay the material they said the material was gone. No one adivised about the scarce supply. And so after drove 2,5 Hours I came back for nothing. I totally not recommend!
