My wife and I had brunch there. Delicious food. We will be back.
Eight stars. Really next level of food design, preparation, taste, service, hospitality. Staff enjoyed explaining what goes into stuff they make.
I chose Reuben with tomato bisque. Believe it or not, better care prep and ingredients than the last Reuben I had at a Jewish deli.
I order the breakfast burger medium and it came out raw in the middle. It couldn't even be considered rare. I sent it back and got the chicken and waffles. That wasn't anything special. It was served with 2 sauces and you got about a ounce of each when I asked for extra I was told I would be charged. $16 and you can't give me enough syrup?
The chairs are cheap and uncomfortable. $16 for a breakfast entree you should at least provide a comfortable seat.
Definitely busy, but absolutely worth the wait. Great food (and beer.) All around enjoyable.
Super great spot for delish, local dishes that are well thought out and executed. Each ingredient has been carefully sourced, selected, and paired with others to make a great dish. The bacon will not disappoint. Can't wait to come back!
If you re looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch this is the spot to try. Such a happy staff and a confident chef. I will be returning soon. Thank you for your hard work and amazing food!
Excellent food and service .While waiting the hostess kept us informed outstanding professional guy. Long wait. A little pricey but experience 5 star.
Excellent food slightly overpriced. Good ambience. It's a surprise find considering the neighborhood.
The food is excellent, however the restaurant can get pretty crowded so you'll likely have to wait.
Good food, good service, I shut them down :-) last customer of the day.
Thank you for a lovely birthday celebration with my children this morning! Missy was the best server we ve had anywhere (and we eat out often)! The food was excellent! We ordered several different things and everyone loved what they had-except my daughter-in-law. Her dish had a fishy taste, so she didn t eat much. Our server noticed and asked about it. When she found out it was fishy tasting, she was very apologetic and took it off the bill. There was plenty of options and large portions. The specialty drinks were awesome as well! I got the jasmine Green tea and was very pleased! We will definitely be back when we return to this area and will tell our friends about it too.
Most of their food is sweets for breakfast. Although looks delicious can't really eat that and remain healthy
Food is decent but expensive. Snobbish, baby boomers abound here. Beware.
First time at The Blue Door Cafe & Bakery and it definitely won't be the last! I had the blueberry bramble quiche with the tomato soup. I also got a blueberry crepe. My husband had the smoked salmon and a chocolate crepe. My son had the chicken and waffles. Everything was delicious!!!! The 50 minute drive was well worth it!!!
Amazing food and coffee in a charming locale. Don't leave without trying something from the pastry case.
Absolutely fantastic food, friendly staff, and those cheese danishes are to die for!!
Best brunch in town! Great drinks, great food, great people. Be sure and try the steak and eggs. Perfectly cooked and seasoned strip steak, eggs, and red flannel hash. Delicious!
Best brunch in the falls. Bakery items are always amazing. Coffee is exquisite. Food is definitely a step above most places. Get there early or expect to wait for a table.
Very cute place! The breakfast was delicious and the pastries were out of this world. Gets very busy.
I love introducing people to this place for their delicious food and great service!
Absolutely love the Almond croissants!!! For someone who is not fond of sweet breakfast, this is an exception.
We also love the vegetarian options they have on their menu every week. The service is great and very friendly!!
Simply phenomenal baked goods. My only "gripe" would be the huge portions - be prepared to take some home with you.
Amazing food, coffee , baked goods, and service. Worth every minute and cent. A hidden gem.
Best breakfast I've ever had. The chicken and waffles was unreal. For the people talking about it being "overpriced" sorry but I'd rather pay $15 for a decent meal then $10 at crappy Bob Evans. Worth every penny. Comped us two croissants and a mimosa for the wait. 10/10 will be going back.
you must go so much excellent food service is awesome if you look me food you must try Blue Door
The service and hospitality is awesome! The food is outstanding and on the healthier side. Loved it. Loved it!!!
Really great food and great service. Very friendly staff. There seems to be a wait if you decide to go anytime after 9am since the place is so small. I only gave it four stars because I most definitely got food poisoning from my meal but honestly it could have happened anywhere.
Exceptional dining experience every visit. The menu always features scrumptious, creative fare which is delivered by a cheery staff. Each entree, appetizer, side dish, muffin, croissant, and beverage is made with extraordinary culinary skill and artistry. The chef always chooses the healthiest ingredients and the presentation is as pleasing to the eye as the cuisine is pleasurable to the palate. They now offer a drive through with an affordable price; coffee and a croissant fro five dollars; these are the finest croissants you ll find anywhere!
The finest friendly family food restaurant I've seen in a long time. Everything was excellent!
With such high marks it seems unnecessary to add another, but I'm chiming in to say how impressed we were with our visit to The Blue Door on Saturday. Michael & his staff went out of their way to be so accommodating for my best friend's birthday brunch and I know it wasn't an easy task. Our server Ian never missed a beat and the kitchen staff led by Chef Mitchell put out some INCREDIBLE dishes. Everything was phenomenal and every member of our party can't wait to return. This place is always crazy busy for a reason - it's worth the wait!!!
Been here three times since, I think 2007? Yes, the food is always delicious and I understand it's higher quality, however, it's really expensive. It's really small, so it can be a long wait, plus depending on where you sit, claustrophobia can start to hit you. The last time I went, with three other and a child, the service was great, as always, however they didn't have a kids menu, and the highchair, could barely fit a tall, skinny toddler. The poor thing almost got stuck due to how narrow it was. We couldn't figure out how a "normal" sized toddler could even fit in it. Plus we were right by the door which made us feel more like sardines since they were so busy there were people standing right by us waiting on tables, waiting to pay, and looking and buying baked goods. I was sitting so close to the table, it was to the point of annoyance. Plus it was cold out, so sitting that close to the entrance wasnt making it any better with people waiting in the door. Since there was no kids menu, it was $ 14, alone, for no drink, a croissant, 2 scrambled eggs & 1 sausage link since that was the cheapest thing. So just be aware, even though the food is delicious, it is pretty pricey and not kid friendly.
I had the chicken and waffles. Loved it. Great coffee, very friendly staff
Everything I've tried here is delicious and perfectly seasoned. No salt and pepper on the table and none needed. Literally the best eggs Benedict I've ever had in my life, and I've tried them all around the world!
Friendly staff and servers, amazing food! We'll definitely be returning!
Fantastic coffee, service, and food. Save room for a sweet roll or plan ahead to take one home from the bakery. Now all I can think of is a roll from Blue Door and I live 50 minutes away. Dang it!
Great experience! Food was absolutely delicious, our waitress was delightful and their mimosas were so good! Would definitely return!
Amazing food, atmosphere and service! Felt like we were treated like family.
Very accommodating for group of six. Food fresh and eccellent.
Great quality food and friendly service! Will be returning frequently.
This is the best food you'll ever have. You might have to wait a while but perfection does take time.
Loud. Too loud. You can't carry on a conversation with the person across the table. Food is just not that great. Coffee is really good though.
The food is just pretty good and terribly over priced. There is no children's menu so my 4 yr. old niece had to have a $12 plate of pancakes. There was a pretentious little sign on the table talking about how the food is made my "expert artisans" and finely crafted to present you with the best possible dish or something....basically saying that they don't want you to ask for changes or substitutions. The service was incredibly sub par. I have not and will not be back.
Very nice
Unique menu, wonderful service
Food is amazing here. It's crowded often times but well worth the wait. I also can't tell you how happy I am to be able to get gluten free crepes/blintzes! They are AMAZING. Great coffee too!
What a great place for breakfast. The croissants and pastries are amazing. Just get one with a cup of coffee, and you'll have a great breakfast. Dig into their menu and you'll get one with ham and gruyere or bacon and avocado with an egg.
Lots of other stuff on the menu too.
Get there early. This place is packed. Service is fast and efficient, and they take the time to set each place setting and menu prior to seating guests.
They just seem to care about the food and care about the guest's experience. It's a rare gem. I'll be back again soon.
Their baked goods are by far the best, but the rest of the experience lacks in a few places. Breakfast crepe is filled with random eggs and onions, on top of undercooked potatoes that might have been the rehydrated kind. Cornbeef hash was chewy from the leftover ham of yesterday. The Pullman loaf toast and croissants were excellent. Service was so-so, but plenty of fresh coffee to go around.
Homemade all I think organic and natural ingredients
Delicious and may cause addiction Eggs and salmon were delicious (don't remember its exact name)
Great place to spend a morning. The cafe has wonderful atmosphere and amazing service. The staff is very knowledgable about the menu items and are always willing to make a suggestion. It's typically a busy place but totally worth whatever wait you must endure. The specials are always changing and are well detailed on their Facebook page. Definitely a great place to eat and enjoy the local flavors.
I cannot express enough just how good our meal was here. This might be the best bakery in Ohio. Chicken and waffles was absolutely amazing. Very friendly staff. Such a good experience.
The food here is DELICIOUS. I have yet to order something on the menu that didn't exceed expectations but the Crepes are my favorite. But if I had to say one thing that makes this place stand out, it would be how well managed the staff is. They are all friendly and helpful and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and enjoy working together. I watched 5 staff members flip a table (that wasn't even "their section") in 10 seconds flat to help out a co worker who had to clean up a spill at another table. They work like a well oiled machine without ever seeming "stressed" or overloaded even when the place is packed.
Food good but very pricey. Dont plan on having a quiet conversation, very noisy there
Delicious! It's so consistently good, well priced and always filling. I don't just highly recommend, I would go here every day if I could.
Pricey, but delicious and organic.
Freshly made changing menu with organic ingredients. This past brunch food menu = sandwiches, salads, quiches, egg combos, crepes, drinks (including alcoholic), a la carte options. The croissants are huge.
Dining area is clean and comfortable.
worth the lines, outrageously great food fresh baked goods
Pastries rival Paris, best brunch in northeast Ohio!!
The food is sublime. The Croissant Breakfast Bowl is the perfect vessel for an especially delicious gravy. The Chicken and Waffles were amazing, with a tangy hot sauce that definitely put them over the top.
I would skip the cheese danish, it wasn't special like the entrees were.
Bear in mind that some of the hype around The Blue Door is due to the fact that it's Akron - a cultural and culinary desert. In a town where Chipotle is considered haute cuisine by 95% of the population, any decent food is going to seem extraordinary. That said, the food is in fact very good. It's slightly overpriced for what it is but it's worth that overage for an excellent meal in the sticks of Ohio.
The various warnings here about customer service are fairly accurate; it's erratic - you might have a perfectly fine CS experience, or you might have a rather poor one. But I do believe that the owner is genuinely invested in addressing the customer service aspect of the experience. In the meantime, the food makes up for those kinds of glitches.
I wish I lived closer to this place. Fantastic breakfasts and their coffee is my favorite. Can be pricey and crowded, but totally worth it.
First time. Had a hard time choosing what to get because everything looked amazing. Ended up with the peaches and cream waffles and they were exquisite. Place was packed the entire time; make sure to allow wait time. Unending breakfast delights!
If the town of Cuyahoga Falls has anything impressive to offer, it would defiantly be the Blue Door Cafe. This stylish and luxurious restaurant has delicious food and a prompt service. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I always have a great and pleasant experience while dining there.
First time here was great. Very authentic with fine quality food. Service was wonderful and everything that was presented was both aestheticly pleasing and delicious. Definitely a unique place in Akron that deserves credit.
BDC is top notch. I ve never had a bad experience here. The food is amazing and the service is excellent!
Best Breakfast/Brunch around. I suggest the croque monsieur with an egg. Nice higher end dinner with gluten free and vegetarian options (which definitely aren't my thing, but was good anyway).
My friend and I went three days in a row while she was visiting from Chicago. Every meal was sublime. The standout dish was the duck breast and gnocchi with duck bacon. Just perfect all the way around. So glad I live next to this gem of an establishment. Well done Blue Door!
Creative food options, above beyond and even further level of service, only complaint is that a cup of orange juice is 5 bucks which seems a tad excessive especially since you can get a whole pot of fantastic tea for 7
We got the bee sting french toast, the whiskey jam grilled cheese, and the chicken, and waffles. They were all absolutely delicious and the salad was amazing
Great rich espresso drinks. Nice atmosphere and good staff. Only wish there were a few more snack options
